  • Skype 7.0 FREEZES everytime during startup!

    This is getting frustrating!
I even reformatted my computer on this issue.
My Skype 7,0 freezes whenever it starts ups ! Basically, once it freezes i can't do anything except restarting the computer.
Second, I had kaspersky Total security installed. Not sure if it conflicts . Previously had the older Kaspersky Pure, and Skype freezes too. The reason I'm highlighting this is because when I go into safe mode when av softwares are off, Skype loaded fine. No freeze and crash . I'd been a loyal skype + kaspersky fan for years  and I encounter these recently!
    Please advise!
    Thanks!

    Attached is my dxdiag.
I don't think kaspersky is the problem . Disabled it but problem persists. Freezes at startup.
However, skype works perfectly in Safe Mode. Thanks
    Please help.

  • Skype for Business freezes on Fullscreen

Hi, I have 2 office 365 computers running windows 7 i7 8GB RAM Nvidia graphics cards. Latest chipset drivers, fully uptodate graphic drivers. One PC is in Bristol the other in Bath. Im trying to setup Skype for Business between the 2 of them and it is working very well untill I maximise at leased one of them to full screen. Both buildings are connected to the internet via 100/100mb fibrelink. When you put Skype for Business into full screen mode it freezes for about 1-2 mins and then gives you 1 frame change every minute or so. Can anyone help? could skype/microsoft produce a fix and quick?

We are seeing the same issue, and suspect packet delays on internet to be the culprit. Please post if you were able tto find a solution. thanks

What version of Skype are you using (help > about Skype? Latest Skype version can be found here: http://www.skype.com/go/getskype Make sure your OS, Internet Explorer and device drivers is up to date (also the optional drivers for windows). You can also check for system file errors start > cmd > rightclick (just rightclick start if Win 8.1) > run as administrator  > sfc /scannow

  • Skype video call freezes on android v4.4.4

    Hi,
I just Updated my Motorola MotoX to Android version 4.4.4 and now I can't make video calls. Every time I turn my camera on, my Skype freezes and then crashes after like 5 seconds.
    My Skype version is 5.0.0.51733.
Does anybody else have this issue?

I too have the same problem on Moto G Google play edition. Any resolutions yet?
I can see video correctly on Moto G, but my video (viewed by partner) freezes.
BTW, I also discovered that when the reciever on the other side is recieving 4:3 video of me (aspect ratio) then it freezes after 5 seconds, whereas, when my phone is sending 16:9 ratio video, it works properly. Partner is a windows PC (desktop client) 16:9 happened only once. I do not find any setting in Skype Android app to select transmitted video ratio(apart from HQ/LQ setting).

  • Skype Video Image Freezes with TV Freetalk Webcam

    Hey,
I purchased a Freetalk Talk-7190 cam for my LC-70LE847U Sharp TV. When I am on Skype the cam works fine for about 30 seconds then it freezes and the person I am talking to only sees a frozen image of me (audio works fine when the image is frozen).
I thought the cam was defective, so I returned it and bought another one, but I am having the same issue. The firmware on my TV is updated. I tried on numerous computers and internet connections, so the problem is not bandwidth or connection related. The people I am talking to through the TV are all using laptops with Windows 7 and the most recent version of Skype.  I cannot tell that I am frozen when I am talking, but the people I am talking to tell me it always happens within the first 15-45 secs.
Any idea how to fix this issue? Also, does the 7190 model work on 2012 Sharp models or does only the 7191 (asked the same question of the Freetalk folks, but hoping someone here might know more)?
    Thanks a lot.

  • Skype desk top freezed cannot input my password???

Skype on my desk top freezed and cannot change user or input a password to open skype to make calls?

What version of Windows are you on (XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 )? Is it 32-bit or 64-bit? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827218 What is the version of Internet Explorer installed on your computer? In Internet Explorer go to Help -> About Internet Explorer. P.S. Please, don’t say that you are not using Internet Explorer. This is irrelevant. Skype depends on Internet Explorer.

  • Skype 7.3 freezes mouse.

Everytime I load up skype it freeze my mouse in place, though if I unplug and replug the mouse it moves for a bit then freezes again. While I can't move it if I try it wont, but after a while it moves on it's own. it is really troublesome and I haven't been able to find a solution. While my mouse is doing that I also have another problem where my skype says I have no connection, but everything else loads just fine. though trying to do anything while skype up is a hassle as my mouse doesn't cooperate with me. If there is anyway people can help I would be happy to know.

Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata% and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old.
Next go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %temp%\skype and then press Enter or click the OK button. Delete the DbTemp folder.
    Restart Skype.
N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.

  • Skype Lagging and Freezing on Ad Change

Hello just upgraded to latest skype 7.2.0.13
Now whenever the ad on the right changes, it lags my skype client up and I cannot chat in it.
    Especially for flash ads.
    Anyone else find this?

Yes, I have the same problem, skype chat has basically become unusable. It started for me after an update about 1 month ago. I'm amazed more people aren't talking about this -- maybe most people only use voice?
My chat freezes on launch for up to 30 seconds (!) until the first ad has loaded and displayed. Then every subsequent time the ad updates it freezes for 10-30s.

  • Skype error messages, freezing, minimizing, and crashing

Skype has been causing all sorts of problems for me lately and I don't know why. I use Skype on a day-to-day basis and everything has consistently been getting worse. All sorts of seemingly random error messages relating mostly to memory leaks or insufficient resources have appeared upon entering video calls, and consequently crashed Skype in different ways. I have a custom gaming computer that I built myself, so I really don't think insufficient resources should be a problem. The problem started sometime after the Skype 7.X version updates. I've looked everywhere on the forums and tried every single solution I could find related to my issue, but NOTHING has worked. I'm at the end of my wits and I normally don't post on forums but I'm desperate to at least get Skype working normally again.
    My Skype version is: 7.7.0.103
Attached is the results of my DirectX diagnostics, as that seems to be popular on these forums.

Hey, thanks for showing me that. I guess that was one of the places that I didn't look, my Skype works now.
Still, any program that's made by a multi-billion dollar company that doesn't work well with their own product is a piece of garbage. Skype blows, I just wish there was an alternative to it. Microsoft is getting to be a really terrible company.

  • Nokia 620 Skype Blank screen freezing

I have a Nokia 620. When I use Skype, the screen goes blank and I am unable to use any phone functions. I have to remove the battery and restart the phone. I do not have a screen protector. Does this happen to anyone else or do you think I have a defective phone? I really like my Nokia 620 but this is a pain.
    Regards

I'm getting the same issue - not sure if it's because skype is running, but I leave skype on, and at least once a day I go to unlock the phone only to find the screen stays dark.  I think the screen is active, but I've locked it with a passcode, so I can't start it.
Since there's no hardware reset button, like you I have to take out the battery.  It's a shame, because I have android and iphones, and am trying this as an experiment.  So far, I think its a very good phone for the money, but this problem is very annoying.

  • While using Skype on my mac pro the screen freezes and splits in two and the left hand side shifts to the right and the right shifts to the left with a large black block down the centre, should I take it back to store as it is only a month old??

I have only had my mac one month and it seems while I use Skype the screen freezes and I cant click on anything and everything on the right hand side of the screen shifts to the left and the left to the right with a back block down the centre and sometimes lines running down the screen over all. As it is almost brand new should I be going back to store to get this problem fixed??

Yes.  You are still under warranty.  Why waste it?

  • `Skype 7 not working & freezing screen for Windows...

I upgraded from Windows 7 Home Basic to Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 (64bit) 2 days back, and since then facing problem installing and running Skype. Skype 7 was working perfect on Home Basic. After reading through the various options given in the Forum, I have tried all the suggestions as below, but everytime there was a problem.
    Re-Installed Win 7 Ultimate X64 for around 5times - no resolution
    Re-Installed Skype 7 for around 10-15times - no resolution
Completed Windows Update - no resolution
Upgraded to IE 11 with all the patches.
Got latest version of Adobe Flash - no resolution
Got Latest version of Direct X - no resolution
Got latest JRE - no resolution
Tried changing the Compatibility Settings of Skype by right-click on the Desktop Icon - no resolution.
%appdata%\Skype\Apps renaming the Login folder and creating the shortcut of Skype icon side the Phone directory - no resolution
%temp%\Skype delete folder - no resolution
There were suggestions to install old versions of Skype - did that too but the same problem of freezing
Now, this is what I am facing:- Skype would install fine. (I learnt and unchecked "Run at Startup). Now when I click on the Skype desktop icon, two cases occur, either entire Windows would freeze or initially Skype would show a blank/white screen and become un-responsive eventually & then freeze the windows. Even Skype website would freeze the browser at times.

Please,  run the DirectX diagnostics tool (32-bit option only).
Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post.
