Skype 7.4 has stopped working.

I have made sure that all my drivers are up to date and that windows is also all up to date. I've uninstalled Skype and rebooted and installed Skype again and nothing seems to work. I'm at a lose as to what to do. Here is my error message:

Try to reset all Skype settings.
Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata% and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old.
Next go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %temp%\skype and then press Enter or click the OK button. Delete the DbTemp folder.
    Restart Skype.
N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.

If your Internet Explorer is broken, then the same will be the case with Skype.
Try now to uninstall IE11 and let Windows to revert your Internet Explorer to the previous IE10 or IE9 version.
In order to uninstall IE11 you should go to Windows Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> View installed updates -> Microsoft Windows -> Internet Explorer 11.

Skype will not works when such applications are active and are filtering Internet access.
You need to uninstall or disable this application. I'm not sure, but it might also be possible to just remove this application from browser extensions in Internet Explorer.
    http://www.covenanteyes.com/support-articles/does-covenant-eyes-conflict-with-other-programs/
In the past, I have been able to run Skype and Covenant Eyes simulanteously. I currently use Covenant Eyes to monitor and report on internet activity. I don't believe I have it configured to block or filter any internet access. If I were to contact Covenant Eyes support, what information should I provide them with?
I've had this problem before. I temporarily fixed it by downloading an older version of Skype. This solution worked for a while until Skype automatically updated. I tried downloading an older version of Skype again but couldn't get it running because of different issues. Can you reccommend a link to a dependable older version of Skype that might work for me? Or any other ideas?

  • Skype 7.2 Has stopped working

MY skype keeps crashing. Uninstalls and reinstalls wont fix it. NEither will deleting hidden skype folders. Running DxDiag doesnt help either.

    Skype 7.4 might help?
    http://www.skype.com/en/download-skype/skype-for-windows/downloading/
Also running dxdiag, is'nt supposed to help in fixing anything, it's for you, and others to have a total view over your hardware and drivers so you/they can try to figure out whats causing the problem.
What might fix something on the other hand is running systems file checker (you might have ment that if so my apologies).
Start > type cmd >rightclick the cmd icon > run as administrator > type sfc /scannow > let it run until finished and hopefully fixes something.
Also updating your OS and Internet Explorer might help as Skype depends on that they are up to date.
Flashplayer may also cause issues when old:
