Most likely this is one of the several cases when the latest Skype 7.0 version is not able correctly to interpret BIOS data. At least, this was the issue with the previously reported cases with this error message:
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x00d527d7
or
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x00d517d7
It seems that Skype has identified the issue and a fix is promised in one of the upcoming Skype versions.

Meanwhile, the working solution is to uninstall the 7.0 version and install the previous 6.21.0.104 Skype version:

What is the version of Internet Explorer installed on your computer?
In Internet Explorer go to Help -> About Internet Explorer.
Do you have the latest Adobe Flash Player for Interneet Explorer installed?
What do you see when you open this link in your Internet Explorer?

  • Skype crash when trying to enter 'Video Settings'

    Hello All,
I've encountered a permanent Skype crash while trying to enter 'Video Settings' with camera plugged in. Without camera, 'Video Settings' panel is working ok
My system is Windows 7 x64, and my camera is A4Tech PK-130MJ
Here is the error report from windows logs:

Because error seems to be, in some way, related to the video drivers, here is my graphics settings:
I'm using XFX GeForce 260 GTX with latest available Nvidia drivers (340.52)
I've managed to partially 'solve' this problem by downgrading to Skype version 6.3, but i'm not sure, how long I could use it, before it becomes 'outdated'
So, if anyone have encountered similar issues, please share info, may be there are any other solutions which don't involve downgrading skype
    Thanks in advance!
    Solved!

I don't know if this is relevant, but on my Windows 7 64-bit system and NVIDIA 210 graphic card, nvapi.dll is located in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ folder, while in C:\Windows\System32\ there is the 64-bit version of this dll, i.e nvapi64.dll.
Please,  run the DirectX diagnostics tool (32-bit version).
Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post.

  • Safari keeps Crashing when posting to social media. Tried clearing and restarting

On MacBook Air. Safari keeps crashing when inside a website and going to another page within that site. Example: I am in Facebook and when I try to post a status and photos, it crashes... I've tried clearing all cache and restarting. Also checked for updates. Tried many times, same result. Below is the report.
    file:///Users/TN/Desktop/Screen%20Shot%202014-03-08%20at%208.56.27%20PM.png

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
In the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports (not "Diagnostic and Usage Messages") for crash reports related to the crashed process. The report name starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report — they're very long and not helpful.

  • Skype Crashing, Update Not helping.. Tried every s...

So I updated my skype to the version that was supposed to 'Fix' this issue of skypes crashing. However once I updated I continue to crash. So I then decided to delete the main.db file and delete chat history and such. I still continue to keep crashing. After a few people sent this malicious message in skype group chats.. Please, How do I fix this..

You have definitely not updated your Skype to the latest version. Your Skype version is 6.22.0.107, while the latest update is 7.5.0.102.
    http://www.skype.com/en/download-skype/
Beside this, the crash report indicates problems with your Internet Explorer (IE11).
Try to reset all Internet Explorer settings to default and update your Skype.

  • Skype crashing when opening a chat.

    Hi all,
I've been having an issue the last couple of days where skype crashes a few seconds after I open a chat with someone. I have tried reinstalling, restarting, deleteing shared.xml and the config file in my user folder in %appdata%\skype as suggested to me by the live support but with no help. I have also tried clearing my registry, ending all of the transfers in skype and clearing all chat histories. None of which work. There is also no error, it just appears as "Not Responding" then asks me whether I want to close it, wait for it to respond or look online for a solution.
The only time it has worked in the last day or so is while I was being remote accessed by someone at Skype. Then, the problem did not occur at all, and skype worked for a little bit, but after a while the problem returned.
Does anyone have any more ideas? I use skype daily and being limited to my tablet is a pain.
    Solved!

I seem to have found a possible fix or work around or something. Your post saying about auto updater made me think of the option in
Tools > Options > Advanced > Automatic Updates
If you turn off automatic updates, mine has seemed to stop crashing after restarting Skype.
Hope this helps you as well!
EDIT: Nope, this works, but only for a little bit at a time, but where I use Skype for video calls, it's no good.
    Please fix this ASAP Skype!

  • Skype doesn't sign in

    Hey,
I am using skype on my laptop , tablet and android.
My skype refuses to sign in "incorrect password or skype name" , I resested the password and still it doesn't sign in on any of my devices.
I can sign in to the skype website, with the same username and password. But when I use it on the application itself it doesn't work.
In addition,  if I try to use my microsoft account, the skype recognizes the account but doesn't sign in.
    1. Anyone has a solution?
    2. How can I contact the support of Skype ( Their actual support email)?! I don't want to look for the answers in the forum, I have money on my account.
    Thanks!

This exactly describes my problem, which went from bad (i.e., intermittent) to worse (i.e., never working) after the OS 10.10.3 Supplemental Update.  I have tried many times.  But after login, Skype just spins and hanges until I force-quit it.  Except once, when it actually crashed.
Upgrading from 7.6 to 7.7 hasn't helped.  Deleting the Application Support/Skype folder hasn't helped.  Deleting the relevant Preferences file hasn't helped.

  • Skype Crashes on going to Video Settings

Hi I have windows, The moment i go to video settings, Skype crashes saying Skype has encountered a problem and it is shutting down. I have tried doing almost everything, direct x is installed, firewall settings have been done accordingly, tried reinstalling the Skype as well. Please Help!
    Solved!

    You said earlier:
"Sorry the Skype version is 5.9
I have Windows XP Professional, Intex external Webcam IT305WC & Latest version of Skype 5.8."
Which is it?  5.8 or 5.9.  That why I ask for the specific version number...all digits.
If you have 5.9.0.114, the current version, you might try resetting your Skype configuration files using this procedure:
Quit Skype.  Hold the Windows key and type r.  In the box that comes up type %appdata% <enter>.  Scroll down to find the \Skype folder and rename it something like \Skype_old.  Restart Skype.
Note:  Renaming the Skype folder will move IM and call history to the renamed folder.  They can be recovered with a few extra steps.
Please note: I do not respond to requests for help via Private Message.

  • Skype crashes. Can't end Skype.exe. Access is Deni...

Lately I've been encountering this problem where Skype crashes and does not let me end the process. I'll try to include as much detail as I can. When the crash occurs, it isn't really announced. You can verify the crash has occurred by simply trying to change your status to Online, Away, Do Not Disturb, etc. If you go to change your status and nothing happens, then I know this crash that I'm referring to has indeed happened. You can close Skype normally. It will close, however, the process Skype.exe won't remove from the RAM. I'm on Windows 8, and if you go to Details on my Task Manager, you can see the process is still active. The RAM usage is not fluxuating, it's as if it's stuck. If you try to end the process once, nothing happens. If you try to end it a second time or more, you'll receive a message that says "Skype.exe cannot be terminated. Access is Denied." I'm not the only one with this problem. I've read that others have encountered it, too.
The only way I can make it so I can use Skype again is to restart my computer because it's effectively the only way to clear my cache (that I know of). The occurring nature of this problem is sporadic. I tried to pinpoint it, but I just can't. Sometimes it happens when my Internet goes out. I reset my router, and when I reconnect, Skype becomes unresponsive. It doesn't only happen when I reconnect from an Internet disconnection. Sometimes it just happens without any change that I know of. I can go days without the problem occurring. Some days, the problem happens in periods that require me to restart multiple times to get it to work. Most people tell me to just use the Windows 8 version of Skype to avoid these issues, but Windows 8 lacks some of the ease of access that the Desktop version of Skype has that I've grown accustomed to as well as the ability to change the volume in my volume mixer. I'd have trouble with either version, honestly. Please respond when you can, any help and solutions will be much appreciated.
Also, I want to note that if I I try to end the process when this crash has not occurred, it does end successfully. This problem, for me, is exclusive to this crash.
    My DxDiag: http://tny.cz/ea7c1ac9

    I'm having the same problem
Since Microsoft take over skype I've never been able to run skype without problems. It seems that everytime they upgrade skype, this problem comes again.
The worse part is, skype crashes, can't kill process (even with procexp, and whatever solution you think work), can't open new skype, connection wifi becomes instable, and after a while I lose connection to internet, can't even do a clean shutdown because it hangs when closing (I guess because of this special skype process that can't be killed).
Every time I put the laptop to sleep, when I come in again, skype crashes, and the problem comes.
I've more windows shutdowns in this last month than I had during the last 2 years.
What is the solution ? Uninstall Skype and go for another chat/phone/video solution ? Can I've my credit money back ?
Please fix this problem. I'm really very anoid with this new SKYPE FEATURE
    Thank you
    JAV

Try to reset all Skype settings.
Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata% and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old.
Next go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %temp%\skype and then press Enter or click the OK button. Delete the DbTemp folder.
    Restart Skype.
N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.

From what I can see you Citrix Client is crashing and well as the Windows Media foundation.  You might consider temporarily removing or updating it to see if that resolves the issue.  I don't know if that has an effect on Skype.  Since the Windows media foundation is crashing the issue may just be video/audio driver related.
I would suggest updating your video drivers:
    http://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/344.75/344.75-desktop-win8-win7-winvista-64bit-international-w...
Make sure all your Nvidia settings are set to application controlled rather than forced settings as that creates issues.
You might also consider temporarily disabling your Apowersoft_AudioDevice in case there is an issue with its non-WHQL'd drivers.

Delete the Skype folder in C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Roaming\
    Reinstalled
Uninstalled and installed again AFTER removing C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Roaming\Skype
