I use Skype on my MacBook Air. I want to use the same Skype account on the iPhone. Is that possible, with the same name, account information, contacts and everything?

Hi I have 1 Skype account that I use across my home desktop Mac (Yosemite 10.10), my work Mac laptop Air (Yosemite 10.10) and my iPhone 6 (iOS8.1). I assumed the Skype contacts would be synced across all devices because it is the one account, but I've just realised that they aren't. Does anyone know how to get this sync happening - is it even possible?

I'm not having the same issues with iCloud that you are, but starting last night (9/27), my iMac, running Mountain Lion 10.8.2, became VERY slow to load iCloud. I thought it might be something with Safari 6.0, but I encountered the same problem when I tried to access iCloud using Firefox.
This morning, iCloud is again very slow to launch and when I'm finally in, none of the apps within iCloud (Mail, Contacts, Calendars, etc.) will open. ???
I haven't seen a posting on the discussion groups here regarding an iCloud outage or other major problems, but I'm also wondering if there's some iCloud file on my iMac that couuld be corrupted and causing the problem.

If your iPhone can't be updated to a higher iOS version then the only way to get them is if you downloaded versions of them which were compatible with iOS 4.2.1 and you still have copies of those versions somewhere e.g. on your computer or on a backup - only the current version of each app is available in the store, and as apps (and other content) are tied to the account that downloads them, you will need to have older copies that are linked to your id

Impossible to find details of old skype account

I just received an email from a [e-mail removed for privacy and security] about a skype account where the credit balance will be made inactive if I don't use it soon. However, if I try to log into skype using that MS account, it tells me there is no skype account in that name.
I have tried resetting the account password but the skype recovery does not recognise the email either.
One part of the system know about this old skype account but the rest of it doesn't.

Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID. If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.) Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iPhone and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID). Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out and choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password.

I have got an iPhone. I want to install Skype on my iPhone. When installing it throught iTunes, it is showing that Skype is a free application but when I continue to download and install it, it asks for payment through credit cards!? So what is the meaning of showing the skype application as "Free"?
Or if it is really free! Please let me know how to install it.

There are no charges for free apps. You're just opening an account. If you don't buy anything you won't be charged anything. In addition to Credit Cards, you can also use PayPal, or set up an account without a card following these instructions. You must be at least 13.

Skype account keeps disconnecting after 30 seconds

hi guys,
its driving me nuts. my skype account keeps disconnecting after 30 seconds and i haven't even done anything. it does it on windows, and on my iphone too.
what's going on? is this a problem with skype? i've seen similar posts. and i'm using skype 6.20

That generally means there is an issue with your Microsoft account. You may have to verify some settings in your account to make sure a configuration isn't causing it. The only solution I'm aware of is temporarily unlinking your account. I do not know if reconnecting it will resolve the issue right away.

Blocked Skype account

I lost use of my Skype on my MacBook since mid-July and the support team they have there has been useless. I can get it on my iPhone just fine, but Skype is more effecient on my laptop. I've talked with a lot of people on the site, but they say they cannot restore the program to my laptop. I asked why. Here is the reason they claimed:
"We are sorry to inform you that we cannot make changes on your account for you to sign in to Skype using your Mac OS device.
Our filters indicate that your Skype account is using a computer network that has been previously used for fraudulent activity in which we cannot disclose as to what fraudulent activity would that be as we only have limited permission to view such account information."
I felt like they needed to supply some proof, so here's what they said a couple weeks later.
"Your device cannot be unblocked because there were other multiple accounts used to sign in to that device which are blocked due to spam and this is the reason why that particular device is restricted."
Now, what is THAT supposed to mean? I have never sent any sort of spam to anyone while messaging them, so it seems ridiculous they won't supply substantial evidence. They keep wanting me to use other devices (and other computers -- I only have this one laptop).
Can someone of better use help me here??

I've got exactly the same problem.
I linked my microsoft account and my Skype account and i also loged in my xbox one. The problem is that since that day i can't log in again with my skype/hotmail account. I sent a mail to the customer service and they answered me with that message:

As you can see (yes, i know it's in spanish) María told me that it's a restriction that they can't revoke :S

I can't access my skype account Mac 6 months Now !...

I'm on a Mac OS X Version 10.10.1
I can access my Skype account on my iPhone and can sign into my account on the Skype website but when I try to open Skype on my computer I get a message saying Skype can't connect.
I have not made any changes to my computer - it has just stopped connecting. Please, can someone give me some advice? Thanks!

Is my Skype account frozen somehow?

Hi there, I wasn't sure where to post my question but anyway it's been this way for about a week now. my account seems frozen in some way. I'm signed in, online but when I make a call to another skype account, there is no dialling tune (the blue thing just whirls around) and eventually fails or just rings out. The same contacts for the entire week look to be online which I know there not (no change in online&offline contacts). I uninstalled and reinstalled software on iPhone & PC but no joy. I sign in and the same contacts are'online' and I can't make any calls. Any ideas how to resolve this? Your help is really appreciated as Ive moved cities & skype is great for keeping in touch

Refused to pay scammers. Got skype account banned.

Several days ago received a letter on my email, he asked for 70$ or he will ban my skype.
If I ignore his email or refuse to pay he promised to ban my account.
He guaranteed that he can ban any skype account through bug in the system and asked for any skype login if I want him to proof his ability.
I refused to pay and my skype was blocked. Support says that my accounts are under investigation right now.
This person explained how he can block any skype account:
They send a message to their friends asking to spam report any skype.

Currently both of my Skypes are blocked : login: "s---" and "a---"
I have used s--- for business chat with clients and now I don't have a possibility to work and my work completely stopped.

Do you know any solution how to protect myself from scammers?
Right now I registered new one "[Removed for privacy]" and they already ask money again and promise to block new skype as well, as they can trace my skype on website which is widely known because of my work and I need to place my skype on my website.
I suppose premium skype does not help from scammers? Maybe Business Skype will help?
I think it is very bad idea that anyone can be blocked forever by spam reports from people that never wrote to you and you never wrote to them.

I cannot log into Skype on my iPhone.

I have recently updated my IOS on my iPhone 6 and the most recent update for Skype, Since this I cannot log into Skype. I have the correct Skype ID and I know my password is corretc because I reset this today and then re-tried logging in. Skype still doesn't recognise my details. It is getting bloody frustrating! I am having the same problem. I not only cannot login to my skype account on new iphone 6, but app did not respond to a request to change password. I am not using 3rd party keyboard and I re-installed the app. Even though I could still login on my pc I changed my password, can login successfully on PC, but still cannot login on my iphone....

About 2 weeks ago, my Skype account suddenly told me my password was incorrect. I had automatic sign in set up so Skype would open automatically when I started my Mac. While I couldn't sign on to it on my Mac, I could still access it on my iPad and iPhone. However, about 2 days later, the same thing happened on those devices. I have tried to reset my password, however Skype tells me that the email address I'm submitting does not exist in their system. I have been able to connect using 2 other Skype accounts I have - 1 was previously in existance and 1 I created today -but neither of these have my contacts or the credit I had purchased for making calls. It seems as if my original and personal account I had with Skype has completely disappeard. Can anyone help me with this issue? Thank you.
