Hi .Skype support i have a problem .. why my account skype is 24/7 online ? my friend ask me why im online 24/7 ...... and i don't know ... why im not 24/7 .. is a bug or ?... my pc is offline - on mobile i don't have network... or skype idk .. sorry for my bad english

For you guys who are not managing to get a result from this solution it probably is because you did not go to your config page (see above in the quoted message) to find out if your accounts were linked or not!

@architgrover, the way that it should work is when you run /remotelogout on your PC (or Mac, AFAIK), all other clients will be logged out of MS's cloud, which is what shows people as fake-online.
Are you sure that doing that and then running /showplaces still shows the Android client as live? It really shouldn't. Likewise, using the formal Logoff menu (lower left in the Skype Android client) should have the same effect. Simply turning off your phone or going into Airplane Mode does not, which is a major design flaw but something we'll have to continue to live with.

Skype always online even when I'm offline

My Skype account is always connected even when all my devices are turned off.

Skype always online at phone

My skype on desktop is always invisible. Whenever I check skype on my phone its online/visible.
when I do it invisible and close skype and come back It shows me visible..
I dont want to appear online but I want to see all messages sent to me on my phone.
I also noticed if I open skype on my pc and phone at the sametime my skype on desktop appears online aswell. I have to turn it invisible again.

Application like skype or fring always online

Hy I bought a new iphone 3gs instead another nokia. I was thinking was better but with my disappoint i found that it's not possible to be always online in skype, fring or similar.
I can't believe apple didn't think about that. There is a way or official application can solve the problem?
I'm a big apple fan but i have to regret to change my nokia for the iphone. Apple should be to fix the problem

Correct - third party Apps cannot be on in the background. It can be always on - just leave it as the only thing running.

They did and its clearly spelled out in the literature that it is not a multitasking device.

Nope - not at all. No multitasking. One application at a time only.

There is no problem, its just that you didnt read before buying. The iPhone does not multitask and thats all there is to say.

How to turn off always online

Im on lollipop 5.0.1 and on winxp. I logged into skype on windows and typed /remotelogout and the only place i was logged in (/showplaces) was on the xp machine. After quitting i went into Away. I checked from a different existing account and computer. So yeah

Recently my skype contacts have noticed that i am always online eventhough i close my session after using Skype. I thought perhaps i left my session open after using on a different device so i changed my passwrod but the problem persists. Today a contact sent me an email asking why i didnt pick up as she was calling me all day despite the fact that i didnt log on all day! I have checked setting but cant seem to find the solution! Any help appreciated

I've checked different posts related to the same issue and see how your response is always the same. While the solution works well for some, it doesn't work for others and I would highly appreciate it if you took the efforts to look into those cases as well. I've done the steps you provided but am still facing the same issue. Would you please actually investigate this rather than copy-paste the same "solution" always???

Minutes Online Bug?

So I don't think I want this fixed, because it makes me look good, but according to my profile I've been online for 7591668 minutes. As impressive as this might seem, I can honestly say I have not been online 24/7 for over 14 years. Does anyone else have incorrect minutes online for their profile?

Nope, sorry I don't old timer.
I doubt I've ever been logged into ni.com from more than one device very often. But I will have multiple tabs open throughout the day. There are a few community pages I keep open as a reminder to look into something. Each day when I shutdown my computer it remembers those tabs and opens them up again the next time I open my browser. Skype for online teaching

Hallo
I am a teacher and would like to use skype as an online teaching platform.
The idea is that I sell my tuition services for a fee in order to generate an income. Does skype offer its platform for free to teachers or does one have to pay a monthly subscription for using Skype? I dont seem to find a satisfactory answer to this very question that I have.

Macbook always online

Does any AT&T customer have a usb unit or..that allow your mac laptop to always be on line? Could you give me any info ? thanks joanlvh

AT&T are amongst other things an ISP. So get a dsl connection from them. Then you will use a dsl modem and router or an ADSL router (which has an integrated modem) to connect to the net.
Then you connect your mac via ethernet or airport to the router and you have an always online connection.
If your looking for a completely mobile solution to get on the net anywhere then get a usb hdspa modem. These modems are not always on you connect them as when required.

Always online on Skype

I have a question/problem.
How is it posible that I always appear to be online on Skype?
Even when I shut down my computer I appear to be online on skype.
This causes a lot of misunderstandigs with my contacts on skype.
Who can solve this problem fore me??

Skype ALWAYS showing as Online, even when i'm not ...

It tells ppl im online even though i am not i have the time and date on both pictures to show it.

There is a work around so that you will be shown offline when you log out from all devices.
1. Sign in to your account in the Skype application in a computer or a laptop.
2. Select any contact then type this to the message box: /showplaces then hit on send.
The /showplaces command will show the instances where you are currently logged in at that time.
3. Now type this command: /remotelogout then hit on send.
It will automatically log you out from your mobile devices, tablet, other laptop except on the one that you are using right now.
Lastly, all you need is to sign out from the Skype application on the computer that you are using and ask a friend if you show as Offline.
This one really works. Believe me

Why my skype is always online?

1) My mobile is off, pc off and there are no place where i could used my skype. So why everyone see that I'm online 24h per day all the time when I' not? Ideas?

Skype always shows me as Online

Whenever I log out of Skype, I appear as Online to all of my contacts. I've tried /showplaces and /remotelogout. Initially, /showplaces showed that my iPod (which has been dead for months), was still logged in. One pass with /remotelogout took care of that, but despite taking those steps, as well as changing my password multiple times and unlinking my Microsoft account, I'm still Online whenever I log out. Is there any fix for this, it's very frustrating.

So you are only signed in on one instance now (as verified via "/showplaces") and that is Skype for Windows desktop (and not Skype for modern Windows)?
After you quit Skype for Windows desktop you are still showing as online?
