Skype as a business landline solution

Hi everyone,
Just need some advice - I am soon to be starting a new small business in the telecom industry.
I will be requiring a landline of some description to make incoming and outgoing calls at an acceptable call rate (preferably unlimited) I also have 2 colleagues that may need a landline and we'd like to be able to use physical handsets/bluetooth headsets rather than built in laptop mic's.
Can anyone help me decide on an ideal package/combo? Cost is imperative!

I normally live in the United States. I'm studying abroad for a semester in Australia. And instead of carrying two phones I thought it would be a good idea to keep one phone and just get an australian phone number, buy minutes and texts and just do that from my current phone (using phone data through ATT). I ran into a bit of a problem when I tried to open a checking account at a commonwealth bank. They need an australian cell/mobile number to send me texts to do online banking.. and that my australian skype number is a landline number and it won't work in there system even though I'm supposed to be able to receive texts. Can I change my number for a mobile phone style number? Do I have any other options?

How right you are - Skype Numbers are only fixed-line numbers, and neither can a Skype Number receive SMS (text) messages. I do not know any other options for you; if I were overseas for only a semester, and needed to have a local banking account, I would ask the banking institution if they require a full-featured mobile number, or if a pre-paid number and plan would be acceptable. While I cannot think of any particular reason a "burn phone" would not be acceptable, I also know nothing about the Australian banking system security requirements. I appreciate my thoughts here would mean you would be carrying two phones ... I hope you have also checked into your AT&T plan for roaming charges ...

Can I use Skype for my business?

I have a SKype number and been using it for my business for a year already. Today I've received an email from Skype saying that I can't use Skype for commercial purpose. I'm confused because I've seen so many people saying that they use Skype for their business. Here's the message I've just received:
"We have noticed some prohibited usage of your subscription.
We will continue to monitor your account, your calling behavior and your overall activity using Skype. If the prohibited usage still continues, your subscription will be disconnected. You will no longer be able to use or purchase any of Skype’s paid-for products.
The suspension of your access to Skype paid-for products will be permanent and you will be unable to transfer any existing products to a new Skype account, or receive a refund. However, you will be able to continue to make Skype-to-Skype calls and send instant messages.
We remind you that Skype’s products are for personal, individual and non-commercial use only. Our Fair Usage Policy can be found within our term of uses. Our subscriptions cannot be shared or used for commercial gain, such as telemarketing or call centre operations"
Do I have to register for a business account or what? Or what should I do now? This number have been using as my business contact and I can't change it. Please help.

Business landline to personal wireless (both Verizon)

I have a question I can't find the answer to here (I searched...). I hope I posted this in the correct forum.
I have an existing Verizon business landline, and an existing personal Verizon cell phone. Different numbers.
I'd like to get rid of the landline completely and have the number ported over to my cell phone. I did check, and the landline is available for porting. The reason I need to keep the landline number is because of existing advertising, graphics, website listings, etc...
My questions are:
Can I do this? Business landline to personal cell phone?
This will be transparent to my customers, correct?
Can I still keep my existing cell phone number? Or must I have a separate cell phone for the ported number? I'd like my existing cell phone to ring if EITHER number is called, know what I mean?
If I can use the same phone for both numbers, I'm assuming I can set a different ringtone for calls being ported from the landline? And if I can use both phones, is there any way for me to have the outgoing calls (from the cell phone) display the landline number and name on the recipient's caller ID?
If I cannot have both numbers ring to my cell phone, would the separate cell phone (for the business) display the company info on the recipient's caller ID?

Correct me if I am wrong but you need a cell phone for each phone number you want. I have never heard of being able to have two numbers on one cell phone. You can set different ring tones for different people though. We dropped our verizon land line in January and our home number we had for 20yrs. was ported to my cell so it's now our main phone. My cell number is no longer and probablly went back into the pool and given to someone else. I can't remember all th details of doing this but I put the order in online and I believe it gave me a date of when the port would take place so I think it was like a week from the time I put the order in. I was able to keep updated and check the status online with my account.
Then on the date it said it would take place a little after midnight I was sent a text on my cell to let me know the port went through and my home numbrer was working right away on the cell and my cell number was no longer. I have to say the whole procedure was flawless and easy and I love now that I get all my calls while out and about and when on vacation don't have to call home to check my answering machine. We don't get a lot of calls but need the cells and texting with son away at college and we were hardly using the home phone so was the best solution for our needs. Mary

Port Skype number to a landline?

We want to stop using skype and port our skype number to a landline however our landline provider said they cannot do it is there anything we can do? Can skype release the number of somthing?

Sorry, Skype does not have the ability to port numbers to Skype for use as Online Numbers. You would need to purchase a number from the pool of available numbers Skype has, depending on the country and region in that country. Use Skype for a business. What is the best way to ...

We have a new business that is starting and a lot of the work will be done by people in different parts of the United States. We would like to have incoming calls be to 1 number, and have them be able to select whom or which department they need. If a calling tree is not available not a big problem.
We also would like to have control of the skype account so it can be assigned, and if then reassigned based on personnel change. We are unsure of how you control this or if it can be controlled. We are assuming that would could simply change a password and then someone new could use it. We know that on a personal account the user would be able to take control as they can see the account info and change the primary email and reset the password. Unable to find anything out about a business account.
We would like to set up each account on a subcription, that has a number and unlimited calling in the US and voicemail.
Would love to be able to talk to any business person that has used skype on a business level so we know what it can do well, and what it can't do at all.

If you have an SSD you can run the cache and programs on the same drive. However, many recommend a scratch disk size of 100-200 gigs so that will not work here unless you opt for a larger SSD. Otherwise an internal spinner is recommended that does not contain the program files, or idealy any other files that may want to get acessed at same time (only one read/write head per drive).
With 32 gig of RAM you may not need the constant use of the scratch drive unless working on large images with lots of layers. So see no advantage to moving folder to SSD for temp work environment.
From what I read the new crop of SSD do not have the wear problems of the older versions.

How to create a Real Time Interactive Business Intelligence Solution in SharePoint 2013

Hi Experts,
I was recently given the below requirements to architect/implement a business intelligence solution that deals with instant/real data modifications in data sources. After going through many articles, e-books, expert blogs, I am still unable to piece the
right information to design an effective solution to my problem. Also, client is ready to invest in the best
infrastructure in order to achieve all the below requirements but yet it seems like a sword of Damocles that hangs around my neck in every direction I go.
Requirements
1) Reports must be created against many-to-many table relationships and against multiple data sources(SP Lists, SQL Server Custom Databases, External Databases).
2) The Report and Dashboard pages should refresh/reflect with real time data immediately as and when changes are made to the data sources.
3) The Reports should be cross-browser compatible(must work in google chrome, safari, firefox and IE), cross-platform(MAC, Android, Linux, Windows) and cross-device compatible(Tabs, Laptops &
Mobiles).
4) Client is Branding/UI conscious and wants the reports to look animated and pixel perfect similar to what's possible to create today in Excel 2013.
5) The reports must be interactive, parameterized, slice able, must load fast and have the ability to drill down or expand.
6) Client wants to leverage the Web Content Management, Document Management, Workflow abilities & other features of SharePoint with key focus being on the reporting solution.
7) Client wants the reports to be scalable, durable, secure and other standard needs.
Is SharePoint 2013 Business Intelligence a good candidate? I see the below limitations with the Product to achieve all the above requirements.
a) Cannot use Power Pivot with Excel deployed to SharePoint as the minimum granularity of refresh schedule is Daily. This violates Requirement 1.
b) Excel Services, Performance Point or Power View works as in-memory representation mode. This violates Requirement 1 and 2.
b) SSRS does not render the reports as stated above in requirement 3 and 4. The report rendering on the page is very slow for sample data itself. This violates Requirement 6 and 7.
Has someone been able to achieve all of the above requirements using SharePoint 2013 platform or any other platform. Please let me know the best possible solution. If possible, redirect me to whitepapers, articles, material that will help me design a effective
solution. Eagerly looking forward to hear from you experts!.

Could anyone please help me with an easy solution to build the business rule solution to my requirement in SOA suite 11.1.1.6.0?
When I get the Input (Request), I need to get the output (Response) as below
Request                     Response
Brand1           ->           XYZ

Brand1 & Brand2      ->           PQR
I created a bucket set with Brand1, Brand2 and linked to the input value. I build the rule set and I got rules at conditions tab like R1 - Brand1, R2 - Brand2 and R3 - Brand1, Brand2. when i tried to add action on this rule at R1, i got conflict with R3. same is the case with R2 also.
Can anyone please let me know how can I resolve this?

The first one is answered by Arghadip. Regarding the second one, what do you mean by incorporate (or what other term do you mean?). You want a batch program in your workflow? Why do you need a batch program? You can create an event when a person is fired (just like when he is hired) and wait for this event in the workflow. So no need to create a batch program (which would use basically the same solution, an event).

DualPhone: "system busy" or "Skype-line is busy" e...

My skype phone is not working anymore, despite a subscription for unlimited calls in Europe. It says: "system busy" when dialing a land-line (skype-out), or "skype-line is busy" after restarting the phone. However I can receive calls without problems. This happened after our subscription for unlimited calls in Europe ended and we renewed it a few days later (coincidence?). The subscription is not active, but the error message still appears...I would appreciate your assistance in this matter. Many thanks.

I would suggest resetting the device to factory even if loose your presets. You might also consider changing out the phone/data cables for your base station just in case.
On my Skype device I've had new changes to my account not take until I reloaded the unit. In the past in my dial-up days I've had busy signals, intermittent noise, and other failures all due to a bad rj11 patch cable. After fighting my issue for years, once discovered, I tossed it in the garbage. Even though I can fix a phone cable it was not worth the effort or hassle.
Ultimately the unit may have gone defective and only an in/out of warranty repair will fix the issue. You might also consider connecting with another account just to see if you can dial out 800 numbers under that account.

Hopefully, you are not signed on to Skype on the mobile device at the same time you are testing your Skype Number. If you are, that could be the problem. Try calling the Skype Number from a fixed line, instead. Otherwise, you will need to please contact Skype customer service directly to sort this as we here in the Community do not have the resources to diagnose and resolve.

Skype number is busy when people try to call me ?p...

When i got my skype number it was busy when someone tried to call me and my skype was online . I changed my skype to only friends on skype list logged out for 5 minutes then logged in and changed it back to everyone can contact me. Been 3 days now and still no joy on my chefdamo account

Skype for small business

We are a small team of 5 people based in Luxemburg. We would like to use skype manager to handle our calls but i can't seem to find basic answers to my questions on the support network:
We have a land line here which we will need to maintain as skype number is not available in Luxemburg but technically. I install skype on all machines and give credits to allow call outs; ok easy BUT What about my land line? can I do a transfer from my land line onto skype to redirect calls ?
I am confused on how it gets set up. I trust skype to work as I already use all the time internationally but the connection to the land number/line is obscur to me.
Does anyone knows what to do?

You will need to purchase a local Skype online number, then set forward from the landline line to the online number, also, you may need to have a Skype phone system for your small business, it can be something like PrettyMay Call Center for Skype.
