Skype Blue Screens

Skype blue screens on launch and Skype Web blue screens when starting a call.
Believe the problem is drivers but not sure. Can't update drivers because laptop (HP Pavillion g6) uses custom drivers rather than generic and the drivers have not been updated. Thanks for help!

Not real sure on that sound card. However you may have a bad mic though. I use Skype all the time but I also use the realtek audio system built on the MB. I am guessing though that you are getting feedback and that is causing the problem. Another mic or even repositioning it away from your speakers may help. Or try a headset.

So, i've been having real big issues with my skype for over a year now. Story:
I have used skype (ver. 6.16 i think) on my computer (HP pavilion G6, Windows 7 Home Premium) for a very long time, suddenly about a year ago or so it BSoD'd when I tried to start skype. I never thought more about that.
After som time I tried to open skype again and it blue screened again. So I tried to uninstall it via control panel and it also bluescreened. Sooo.. I tried to manually remove the program and it only left a icon in the control panel that I can't delete, it says that some skype.msi file is missing or something. So I tried using that MS-fix-it program and it deleted everything. But when im downloading skype it also causes BSoD. Im very tired of always have to use my iPad as a skype system and want to have it again on PC.
I've read like every single skype-support thread about this problem but nothing really helps me..
I've attached a picture of my BSoD since it does'nt save any dumpfile or whatever it is called.

The issue might be with HP Webcam.
Please, run the DirectX diagnostics tool (32-bit option).
Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post.
Be aware that you will have to zip this file before attaching it here.

Skype blue screen of death when launching (7.3)

Hi,
I get blue screen of death on booting up of skype since last week, and have no idea why.
Version 7.3.
I have installed older versions and it still blue screens, in addition to updating video drivers which doesn't work either .

Windows 7 Crash (Blue Screen) with Skype 6.18 on H...

Hi,
I think a lot of people are having the same problem with Skype 6.18 on HP Pavilion notebooks.
Windows 7 crashes during the auto-update or installation of 6.18
After about 3-4 hours of troubleshooting the Blue Screen / service exception error (in ks.sys) I discovered that it's caused by the HP HD Webcam [Fixed] driver (version is 6.0.1113.1 released 2012-11-20 (or 20-11-2012)).
The driver is written by Sonix and is unlikely to be updated. So you have the choice of going back to an older version of Skype or disabling the webcam / driver through Device Manager. As soon as you disable the driver / device Skype will install / start - but of course you won't be able to use video during Skype calls.
Hopefully Microsoft / Skype will fix the driver incompatibility in a future release.
Skype Support - the issue is with the HP / Sonix driver - file is snp2uvc.sys
There are similar issues reported with a previous version of the HP HD Webcam driver as well (SPUVCBv_x64.sys).
Please fix it. I'd like to use video in calls again!

The best working solution at this time is to download and install Skype 6.14 and disable updates. If you still get prompts to upgrade you can ignore them and the program should continue to function as it has not been retired as of yet. Hopefully there will be a resolution in a future Skype update or an updated driver from HP that might resolve the issue.

Blue Screen of Death when calling skype on iphone/...

Every time i call a person on skype on iphone or s6 (i think any smartphone) my computer crashes and causes blue screen of death. i have windows 8.1 running and this also happened on win 8. i have tried uninstalling, clean installing, deleting all old files of skype and then installing but nothing has worked.
on aside, when i get a call from another desktop skype as well, invariably, i cant connect the call at first attempt. clicking on accept does nothing and it will continue rining. even clicking on reject does not work after. the only option is to kill skype from task manager and then restart it. it then works fine for first call i make. it then has similar issue on later calls. not neccessarily the 2nd call. its regular but also random in nature.
i have not idea what is the problem. do you?

Your Realtek camera drivers are crashing. Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your video card and camera. Skype video crashes my GPU driver and causes blue screen.

Hello,
Installed a new copy of windows and got the latest version of skype for my PC (on wich skype worked just fine, video calls, voice calls, but it was an older version. No hardware changes)
With the new skype, I , for the least, get driver crashes, and for the most, a blue screen, when I just go to options to set up my webcam.As soon as I see the square "loading" my webcam in the options, everything freezes and I get a driver crash or a blue screen.
Current specs:
i5 4440, stock clocks
2x8gb 1333 ddr3 1.5v ram, stock
R7 260x, stock
500w PSU, not the best quality, But I also tried a 1000w platinum PSU, and same resaults.
last error code I remeber from the blue screen was: 0x00000116
I know it is related to the GPU, but it doesn't have power deficiency, since I manage to run heavy games just fine.By the way, my webcam works just fine on different web sites, so it's not the webcam.
What I tried:
-Degrading to the oldest supported version by skype
-Degrading video drivers
-Using different webcams
-Installed all windows 7 64 bit updates

I would suggest uninstalling Droidcam as it could be the source of some delays assisting in causing the problem. TDR problems occur when your videocard is unable to respond in 2 seconds for a variety of reasons (heat, tweaks), forcefully resetting the card. Some people increase this delay in their registry from 2 to up to 10 seconds to give the card time to catch up so that a reset doesn't occur. Skype causing Blue Screen on Windows 7

I just recently acquired a new computer and after installing Skype the second I log in it causes a blue screen of my computer. I tried a few times and the same happened everytime. Anyone else sharing this problem?

Blue screen on Windows 7? Wow. I've never managed to get BSOD on any of my Win7 PCs.
But what may cause this - no idea, really.

Skype 6.16 Blue Screen of Death

Everytime I try to load up skype on windows 7, it'll always crash my computer. The Bccode is always 3b whenever i boot up to see the issue. Skype never used to do this until now.

It's possible you performed either a Skype or driver update that created the issue. If you have a particular compatibility issue with 6.16, I suggest you downgrade to a previous release for the time being. Links are in the following thread:

Skype causes Blue Screen of Death after a while in...

Hello, I'm currently having a problem with my skype where it will cause my computer to BSOD after a while in a call, it's only happening during skype calls, not during other voice communication programs like steam's voice calling and the blue screen is more likely to happen when I'm running Firefox.
The Blue screen error I get is "Clock Interrupt was not receieved on a secondary processor within the alloted time interval."
Any help would be appreciated.

The issue might be triggered by Skype and other software but definitely not due to Skype. It's a very broad multiple CPU timing's issue that can be caused by several things.
1. Problematic BIOS settings
2. Failing hardware/drivers
3. CPU/Fan/HW monitor control programs
4. Power management settings
As a temporary workaround you can try setting the processor affinity for Skype or set your Windows to boot off only 1 CPU using msconfig.

Whenever I install/update skype on windows 7 to the current version I get a blue screen Also I cannot use older versions because it says "Skype can't connect." Any help on either of these issues is accepted. Thanks.

New Skype Update (6.14) causes Blue Screen

Hello. Everytime I download the newest version of Skype, while it's waiting to install the newest version, it would cause my computer to Blue Screen. Then whenever I try to run the new version, it also Blue Screens. This has happened to me 7 times and I hope someone can help me with this problem..

Blue screen of death on newer versions of skype (n...

Even the attempt to install 6.21.0.104, Blue screens my laptop. After three blue screens and the following recovery screens, I cannot put this poor laptop through many more of these. There is no reason that Skype should cause a system failure of this kind. (Or possible failure because blue screens are suposedly prevention measures to ya know... prevent damage.) Although its still causing damage.
Tried reinstalling, tried different version, and tried other various things involving other programs and firewall settings. Nothing works.
I am attempting to install an offline installer for 6.14. Hopefully it works and doesn't destroy this laptop.

Yeah I meant to do that part. I was able to instal the older version but attempting to run it has the same blue screen result. I even tried running it in safemode. However, it errors out of skype. Does not provide me with any error codes either, but its better than a blue screen.
I assume that something in the newest version messed up the computer somehow, I just don't have time at this very moment to go search it out and deal with it. Just ridiculous that Skype would mess up that badly.

I am using HP note Book g6 pavillion. one day i was installing Microsoft security essentials on my note book suddenly blue screen message appear and system restared. i perform recovery windows default. After reinstalation windows when i was installing my skype software, during installaion it again become blue screen error. now it is not running. when ever i do install windows again. no time blue screen error become. please help me what to do. my Ram HDD and other Hardware is working proper and i have checked this. thanks

Does your notebook always start with the blue screen now, or is it intermittent?
And did you update your system with the HP customized drivers for your system?
If not then you can find those drivers here:

Have you tried to start up into safe mode? Entering Safe Mode (Windows 7)
If you can get into safe mode, then I would recommend checking in device manager for any devices that are duplicated, or marked with exclamation marks or other similar error indicators. Remove those devices with errors, from within device manager, and then scan for hardware changes.
Then try restarting the computer normally. If it comes up with a blue screen go back into safe mode again, and this time remove any devices you had previously installed when you initially installed the operating system, and let windows find generic drivers for now. Then again restart the computer normally.
If it starts normally, it would indicate that one of those drivers is the likely cause. Without any messages to make it clear which is the culprit, it may take some trial and error to isolate the offending driver.
Once you figure out which is the one, then you can try installing the other drivers, one at a time, excepting for the problem child and see if it will work for you.
Let me know how that goes for you, and what you find as to the problem software.
