I saw many post explaining about free call from skype to skype. But what I want to know is the exact cost specially for international calls.
1. How much does it cost per min if I am located in Australia locally?
2. How much does it cost per min if I am in other countries eg Philipphine and China?
3. Will I be charged if I receive calls from people using landline or mobile phone (not skype) in other countries? Also same question in same country?
Hello and welcome to the Skype Community!
With Skype there is no such thing as an international call. All calls are local worldwide. Your location is irrelevant.
1. Your location is irrelevant. Calling costs depend only on the country you are calling TO. All our rates are here: http://www.skype.com/en/rates/#FR
2. Your location is irrelevant.
3. Skype doesn't change to receive calls.

Unfortunately a full list isn't available any more. It was withdrawn some time ago as it's viewing volume was very low.

  • Call rate issues with Irish landline on Skype to g...

Can anyone explain why, when I set up a new number on Skype to go for a standard Irish landline, I'm told the calling rate is 13.5p/min when I have other numbers already set up or standard Irish landline and their calling rate is 1.4p/min?? I thought I was putting the number in wrong but I'm not. Although when entering the number after +353 when I normally should put "1" (for the dublin area code) I removed it and the calling rate came up as it should (1.4p/min) but will this number work when I call…?
    Thanks in advance,

  • Cost of Skype calling a UK mobile number in India

    Hi there
I want to call someone with a UK mobile number through skype, using PAYG, but he's in India. Does anyone know how much that will cost?
If you don't know, could you please at least tell me whether it will be charged at the normal India rates or at other rates? It's important that this information is accurate, so if you're just guessing the answer, please make that clear.
Thanks a lot and kind regards,
    Neil

  • Data used for a 25 minute skype call

    Hello,
I am using skype 7.0 for windows PC to make 25 minute skype calls for work. I am just on an 800mb limit per day. According to my ISP's Web site, 800 mb is enough to make 4.5 hours of skype calls. But I saw that for just one skype call, my statistics tab showed I consumed about 350+mb already after just one 25 minute skype call. So if this is the case for every skype call I make, I can only make 2-3 25 minute skype calls before my ISP limits my internet usage for the day.
How much data is used for 1 25 minute skype call using PC ?
I think my ISP's Web site is misleading about skype calls.

You can still have your video on and your student can have their video off.  If they "call" you instead of "video call" you, their video will never be engaged and you can just turn your video on from that point.  The big problem with ISP bandwidth restrictions is that their limitation tends to count upload and download which greatly reduces your overall real bandwidth.  You can use this as a guide as well to guesstimate.
    http://community.skype.com/t5/Windows-archive/Bandwidth-Consumption-Question-Again/m-p/2887243/highl...
Be aware that this only accounts for one-way communication.  If you were to both have your video on at the same quality the figure would double.  If your student only has audio engaged then you would only add 25 minutes of "äudio" to gauge an approximation.  Since Skype is "automatic" call quality can go up or down.  Netlimeter or it's equivalent is the only real way to lower the video quality other than using a much lower resolution camera.
In regards to your ISP's "video conferencing" calculation, it's not pulled out of a hat.  It appears to be calculated off a total video conferencing rate of 384k which is generally at a CIF/SIF resolution (~352x288 or lower).  Skype's video quality operates at a higher rate that even supersedes their 90-minute movie estimate they provided as well.  If you were to compare either a 90-minute DVD quality video or a 90-minute Blu-ray quality video the bandwidth would of course be surpassed as well as downloaded/watched movies vary in quality as well.
I believe the average amount of bandwidth consumption for typical households can be upwards of 150-300+ Gigabytes a month.  Low metered accounts are generally for mobile devices or people who don't plan to use the Internet beyond basic web searching and e-mail.  I personally would use a plan like that to get Internet in remote places but I wouldn't plan to do anything beyond the basics.
In regards to overage of bandwidth consumption ISPs either:
    1.  Terminate the data service for the month when exceeded
    2.  Charge you overage charges at a set cost per MB or GB.
    3.  Allow you to continue to use the service but cap your Internet speed to twice that of dial-up (115kbp/s) or possibly even lower.

  • Video Streaming and Skype Calls Suddenly Impossibl...

After having used the service for quite some time and been able to do the not out of the ordinary activities of streaming youtube videos, BBC Iplayer & the like & make a Skype call I am now over a week into the problem of being unable to. Having spent countless hours on the phone to "support" and installing a new home hub my situation remains the same. I have now been told there is nothing more they can do, they won't send and Engineer & when I asked " so are you saying I just have to live with it & accept this is as good as my service is going to get?" the reply was "yes". Well.. thats customer service at its finest right there.
I run a wired connection & am tired of speed tests!! results returned vary from acceptable to downright appalling & it is clear the problem is intermittent.
I have had BT Infinity 2 for over 12 months and have had several issues during this time, always taken ages to sort and always eventually resulted in an Engineer having to come out.. Issues have generally been given the same reason to me & a quick fiddle with the lines at the exchange by the Engineer has fixed it. Of course getting BT to send an engineer in the fiirst place is nigh on impossible.
Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.. My next step is to contact billing and offer half payment for the remainder of my contract in lieu of the half service I receive (until it is rectified of course)

Thanks to both who have responded to me here thus far. Here are the results of my most recent speedtest in full.

  • Calling rates doubled on March 31 2014 without not...

I used Skype for many years on pay as you go plan with auto recharge.  For over two years, the rate for Mali was 28.9 cents per minute.  I call there almost daily. On the morning of March 31, the rate more than doubled to 59.6 cents per minute without any warning. I only discovered the change last night when my auto renewals were being drained at an alarming pace.
I spoke with customer service and they confirmed that 59.6c is the rate and the only advice to me was to check the rates every time before making calls or "get a subscription". Wow. Needless to say I immediately cancelled my auto renew agreement with Skype and once my credit is gone, I am not planning to renew.
These rate changes should be posted ahead of time, so pay as you go auto-renew customers can decide if they want to use the new rates or not.
There is no reason whatsoever to double the country calling rate. Even the worst calling card can give me 37 cents a minute, and many are in the low 20's.  I am very disappointed with Skype and how they change rates without warning,

    1. It is a considence that carriers from countries of like Mali and Samoa, which are over 1000 miles apart could increase the rates at the same time, isn't it?
    2. Next time, please send atleast a warning that the prices are going to be hiked!
    1. Yes it is a coincidence. Geographic location has no relevance to this situation.
    2. That's not possible. We don't receive prior notice from carriers of rate increases.

  • Call rates for 60m subscription

I have purchased a 60min subscription to landlines and mobiles. The call rates say it is 21.7 cents per minute. Do calls to landlines revert to the lower rate of 3 cents or now that I have purchased this combined one does it mean that any call I make whether its to a landline or mobile is 21.7.
If this is the case am I better off going for a landline only subscription and Skype credit to mobiles as I call landlines more often than mobiles?

    Yes.
Skype call charges depend only on the country you are calling TO. The geographic origin of the call is irrelevant.
To call both landlines and cellphones to (and within) the United States from anywhere costs 2.3 cents per minute or part thereof.

  • Receive Skype calls on 3cx

    Hi,
I'm new to this so please forgive me if a simple step by step explanation has been given somewhere before.
I didn't found it, so feel free to point me to it.
I would like to receive my skype calls on my PBX.
That part I've found out, it is possible with skype connect.
So made an account (didn't buy anything).
I do get the message that my skype account is connected on my 3CX.
    So far so good.
But whatever I do with that account (like calling it), I do not get a connection on the 3CX.
So I probably need to buy something in order to get it to work.
There are many things one can buy like skype credits and/or channels.
    But what's needed?
As the page of skype connect  states "
With channels from just €4.95 (€5.69 incl. VAT) a month, you can make the most of these great prices:"
So probably I need a channel.
Do I need to pay for a channel each month only to receive incoming skype calls on my PBX?
Or is there something else needed?

    Dear cdgo,
Yes, channels are required to make/receive calls; the number of channels depends on the amount of concurrent calls that you will be making, up to 300 can be purchased.  Channels have a monthly fee of $6.95/month USD.
To receive incoming calls you can purchase an Online number, if available in your country.  The current price for Online numbers is $6.30/month USD.  Also, Skype Connect is a ‘pay as you go’ service using Skype Credit (that is attached to the SIP profile), and does not support any of the Skype Client subscriptions.  Pricing information can be found at:

  • Online number at local call rates.

  • No Call Rates and Subscriptions for Curacao

Why isn't there a calling rate and monthly subscription(s) for Curacao? There are also no monthly subscriptions available for Sint Marten. These islands used to be in the same group of islands as Bonaire, Sint Eustantius and Saba, which are in your list of countries and have their own calling rates and monthly subscriptions. Why is Curacao not on your list?

I have the same question, Please please  Skype moderator respond to this and help us out.
This question is from aug 2013 so there was plenty of time to answer this question.

  • International call rates

    Dear Skype Customer Support,
I want to know the actual rate for international call from Guam to Palau.  The rate listed in Skype website for such a call is US 43 cents per minute.  But it looks like I was charged way over or nearly 3 time this advertised rate when I Skype call Palau from Guam.  Please advise.
    Cheers,
[Mod edit: Please do not include personal/private information when making a public post. Thanks!]

    Tommy,
Can't say I'm overly sympathetic with your situation, I'd gladly be in Cuba with no internet connection whatsoever!
I'm not sure I can be of any help in getting you costs for calls from Cuba. Aside from roaming rates within the EU, all other prices shown are for calls from the UK to other countries - it just doesn't show prices outside the EU.
Obviously calls made in overseas countries are local network dependent (I did some googling on roaming rates for calls to the UK from Cuba for various networks and they varied from about 140ppm to 200ppm - Vodafone, which BT piggy backs, is 149ppm).
Cuba isn't listed separately on the BB Talk rates which means it costs the standard international rate (17.3p per minute daytime, 11.4p evening/weekend), but again, this is UK to Cuba.
I'm not sure this is the information you needed so sorry if this isn't much help.
    Enjoy your time in Cuba.
    Regards,
    Mark

  • NO SOUND ON DV6, BUT STRANGELY WORKS WHEN SKYPE CALLS ARE ON

    Hi,
I have gone tried many of the things that were provided in these forums but nothing has helped so far. There is no playback from the speakers, so I assumed the speakers were dead and started using external speakers, but strangely the playback started working when I made a skype call.
Any sounds played from media players, websites or any other source work properly when a skype call is being made.
As soon as the call is disconnected, everything stops.
What is the skype call triggering that enables the audio to play.
I have uninstalled/reinstalled IDT drivers, tried all sorts of configuration settings, but nothing has worked so far.
What is the problem here and how can it be fixed???
    Please help!!

  • How can I remove "skype caller" from caller id

When I make calls from Skype I don't mind if it shows my phone number, but would prefer the customer I'm calling don't see that it's from a "skype caller" as this startles some customers I do business with.   Can I have that wording removed and replace it with my name?

On your computer's iTunes you should be able to edit your payment info by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into your account, and on your account's details page there should be a payment link.  If you are doing it on your iPhone then tap on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and tap on 'View Apple ID' on the popup and log into your account  - that should also give you a payments link on your account's page.
