Skype calls freeze my computer

It was fine yestarday then all of a sudden its crashing my computer!
I've tried installing and uninstalling skype, I've tried updating my graphics driver (AMD Radeon R9 255) but nothing works!

Are you using Skype for text chats only? There is neither webcam or microphone connected to your computer.
Digital Audio (S/PDIF) is used for sound output. I doubt. I doubt that this is suitable for Skype.
What do you see when in Skype you open Tools -> Options -> Audio settings?

Skype keeps quitting when using Skype call to another computer while using

This does not happen when using to pc's but when I use my Macbook Pro to call back home to my Desktop PC in Taiwan it never fails to disconnect after a few minutes of talk. Anyone else having these problems with Skype quitting when on a VOIP cal from computer to computer. My Skype is the latest verison.

I have the exact same issue here with my MBP & 10.5.x.. About 10.. 15 mins or less into the call my mbp drops the call..
Interestingly enough, my MacPro running 10.4.11 NEVER drops a call to the same people and the same network. I mean .. never drops em.. I have been using Skype for roughly 3 years and haven't had issue until this machine and another MBP I had that was running 10.5 as well.
I agree, It is a pain.
I'll look to the Skype user forums too.

Viewing and downloading Skype-Skype Call History

Hi,
Could anybody please help me and advise how I would view and download a history of Skype to Skype calls on my computer? I mainly use my phone for Skype calls and I can see the history through my phone, but not through my Skype account on my computer, and I'm not sure of a way to best record it and transfer it to a separate file that can be printed off. I've tried to enter SkypeLogView.exe into the Run bar but I get the response that Windows cannot find it.
Any help would be really appreciated! Thanks...

Thanks for the continued help... When I enter 'C:\Users\[my username]\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft\SkypeApp\Localstate\[my skype name] into Windows Explorer it gives the same message that it cannot be found. I have the Skype that was installed on my laptop when I bought it with Windows 8. Afraid I can't see the Help / About option when I'm inside the Skype app. All I can see is the call option, create group, search, my account, add contact, save number... Not sure how I would find the version I have from here

Charged for skype to skype call

I just received a skype-to-skype call on my computer from a mobile using the skype app. Why was I charged over $1 for this? I'm currently in Spain and the caller is in France, but it was a legit in-app call, so this is not a legal charge. Has anyone had similar problems?

For the meantime, it may also be advisable to run a full antivirus scan using a fully updated antivirus software, then change your account password as a safety net (just in case your account was hacked/compromised).

Skype freezes whole computer when..

When I'm in skype and playing world of warcraft, my computer is fine.
When I'm in a skype CALL and playing wow, my computer freezes many times ranging from 5-20 seconds.
If I'm on skype, in a skype call playing any other game besides WOW my computer does perfectly fine.
If I'm on any other voice communication program besides skype and playing wow then my computer does just fine.
But only when i'm in a skype CALL and playing wow at the same time my wow freezes, my skype freezes, my audio whatever may be playing at the time freezes and stops continueing to play.
Any help would be nice!

Skype calls keep dropping and Skype freezes?

I have good internet and every **bleep** minute or so when im in a call with my friends, skype freezes (but not like "not responding", i can click buttons, they just don't do anything) and the call is dropped for like 40 seconds and then it fixes itself again. it does this very often and im getting tired of it.
i've re installed skype, re installed java, installed an older version of skype and NOTHING works!!!
It's not my internet because while skype is frozen, i can be playing a game flawlessly, or googling things, something is wrong with my skype.
also my computer is really good (custom built gaming pc)
Skype is really pissing me off!

Same sort of thing is happening to me and has been happening for a while, except that it doesn't come back in 40 seconds. It's so annoying, and I'm convinced that skype is the biggest and most worthless piece of **bleep** program out there, I can't wait until there's a viable alternative. It will just stop mid call, as if the other person isn't talking, then it will become unresponsive. It's not like it's unresponsive and greyed out with Windows saying it can fix it, it just completely ignores everything. If I want to end the call, too bad. If I want to force quit the app, too bad. If I want to sign back on, too bad (it's already running). I have to restart my computer so many times throughout the day that it interferes with my work and I depend on Skype to connect my coworkers. It's so full of issues that I'm fed up. No updates or downgrades help me either, I've tried almost every one of the "good" ones.

How can I remove "skype caller" from caller id

When I make calls from Skype I don't mind if it shows my phone number, but would prefer the customer I'm calling don't see that it's from a "skype caller" as this startles some customers I do business with. Can I have that wording removed and replace it with my name?

On your computer's iTunes you should be able to edit your payment info by going into the Store > View Account menu option and logging into your account, and on your account's details page there should be a payment link. If you are doing it on your iPhone then tap on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and tap on 'View Apple ID' on the popup and log into your account - that should also give you a payments link on your account's page.

While in a Skype call in Windows 8, the volume of other sounds lowers

I am having a problem when using Skype as well. While taking a Skype call, sounds on other programs are lowered in volume. I've noticed that the Skype app on the Windows 8 Start screen does not do all the things that the desktop version of Skype for Windows 8 does. I heartily recommend installing the desktop version of Skype, as well as the Start screen app, and logging in to both. That way you'll still get updates in your live tile on the Start screen, and you will still be able to get voice messages on your desktop version of Skype. It's the best of both worlds.
I managed to listen to an online radio station full blast while making a Skype call. Here's what I did:
First, I installed both the Skype app and the desktop version of Skype for Windows 8 (get the directions in the Installing and setting up Skype for Windows 8 and the Installing and setting up Skype for Windows desktop sections of the Using Skype to Make Voice and Video Internet Calls (Windows 8) document.)
Then, like you, I selected the Do nothing radio button on the Communications tab of Sound menu (press the Windows + W keys; type Sound into the search field; and then click Sound in the search results.) I then restarted my computer.
I made a Skype call using the desktop version, and then made a new Skype call from the Start menu app. That's when I started noticing that the volume of the radio station was not reduced. Also, when a friend sent an instant message, I heard the little ping sound full blast.
I'm not entirely sure why that all worked, but it did, and I hope it works for you, too. Will you reply to this post to let me know if it helps you?

Can I adjust the video image I receive when making a Skype call?

I have made my first Skype call and the video image I see on my computer is very dark and I am wondering if there is some way to make adjustments? Do I need to get some specific software for viewing? I don't really understand the whole thing but I sure would like to have a better quality image of the person I am speaking with.

Skype calls can't be monitored by any third party user, unless there are viruses/malware/spyware or similar elements in your computer, or in the computer of the people you are talking with.

Print Skype call log

Hello, I need to print the skype call logs that I have made with my fiance to prove an ongoing relationship since we are trying to get him to come to the states with a K1 Visa. Does anyone know of a way of doing this on a mac computer?

You have to do this regularly, my Skype only remembers 3 months of calls... Heard of a UK request fail because of not enough pictures submitted of when they were together, accepted with more pictures... Best to over supply info rather than under supply!!!
Easiest way I found to copy was if you hold the Mac key, you can reveal the details of a number of calls simultanously, then Mac key, plus shift key, plus 4 keys converts the cursor into cross hairs, allowing you to select an image to take a picture of, deposited on the desktop as picture (number). Using this method, I found it better to use open office as Word not so good if you paste a large number of images (certainly in MS Office from recent years, may have been sorted in the latest versions?).

Internet freezing my computer

Hi everyone, A little history. My computer starting to freeze up with in the past two weeks, where I have to manually force shut down. I can't even use explore or firefox or any of my Microsoft apps including my Anti virus. Right now, I am in safe mode and ran my kaspersky anti virus and did not picking anything up. I used my disk cleanup and took out all the temp files that was up to 1 GB (in Safemode), and I saw more files that I have never seen before. I am trying to go to internet explore to reset it back to defalt setting o.k. but I don't know how to do that. Right now, I am in my HP support assistant to tune up my computer, but it is just running on "Set Restore Point" I am not a computer geek, so if you are going to give me advise, please explain it like you would as a to a 10 year old (but a 10 year old are more computer savy these days). And any other advise you can give me will be much appreciated.

       I am going to give you directions on excessing Recovery Manager Performing a Microsoft Recovery .
Click on start botton go to all programs search box [ Box under all programs]. Type in it recovery manager. Above it will display click on Recovery Manager. If white prompt window displays click yes. Now recovery manager is open, click on Microsoft System Restore Next window click Next. Now you will see Restore system files and settings. I want you to select Choose a different restore poin. Click Next Choose a date that goes back at least two weeks or more. Click Next. Let it do its thing.  After restore is completed click ok restore finish window.Now your computer is some what stable. Its time for you to become an expert on your new lap-top.
