Skype calls keep disconnecting

I'm having trouble with skype on my Surface RT. During a call it disconnects me anywhere from 2mins to 10mins into the call. I've refreshed my tablet, uninstalled & reinstalled the app. I don't have this issue with Skype on the Xbox One or when I use skype on my WP 8.1. That rules out any issues with my internet & with the other persons end.

its driving me nuts. my skype account keeps disconnecting after 30 seconds and i haven't even done anything. it does it on windows, and on my iphone too.
what's going on? is this a problem with skype? i've seen similar posts. and i'm using skype 6.20

That generally means there is an issue with your Microsoft account. You may have to verify some settings in your account to make sure a configuration isn't causing it. The only solution I'm aware of is temporarily unlinking your account. I do not know if reconnecting it will resolve the issue right away.

Skype/Facetime keeps disconnecting my connection?

Skype/Facetime has always been working without any problems for me until yesterday (Mon, Feb 18 2013). Every time I'm using Skype or Facetime and I'm connected into a call, it works for a good 5 minutes or so and suddenly disconnects me on Skype & puts me offline & when it does that, it also disconnects my connection. I'm using a WIFI connection on my macbook pro but it's a locked one with a security password so only me & my family have access to this connection. I've tried checking if it was my WIFI that was causing this problem but my WIFI seem's to be perfectly fine. I'm able to use Safari or any other applications without any disconnecting problems, but when it comes to Skype/Facetime, 5 minutes into a video call, it ends the call and disconnects my wifi and I have to restart my macbook in order to make the connection work again but if I go back on Skype/Facetime, it disconnects again. I've tried updating my software and the applications and it still has the same problems.. Can anyone help me please?

Skype Calls randomly disconnecting my entire lapto...

I've been having a problem with my Lenovo Yoga 11s and skype calls. I'm able to have a solid connection to skype and send messages but whenever I call, it's inevitable that the skype call ends up crashing/lagging until the call drops. This also results in a loss of internet for my entire laptop. I've also tried this on another wireless internet connection and got the same results. Is there anyway to fix this? I've tried a clean reinstall and downgrading to older versions but it's been no help. The calls can last from 2 minutes to 28 minutes before they disconnect.
Also, I never had this issue on my previous laptop (that also connected to this same internet connection) so I'm thinking my internet must be fine. My brother can skype without a problem, it seems to be an isolated problem.

Skype calls keep dropping and Skype freezes?

I have good internet and every **bleep** minute or so when im in a call with my friends, skype freezes (but not like "not responding", i can click buttons, they just don't do anything) and the call is dropped for like 40 seconds and then it fixes itself again. it does this very often and im getting tired of it.
i've re installed skype, re installed java, installed an older version of skype and NOTHING works!!!
It's not my internet because while skype is frozen, i can be playing a game flawlessly, or googling things, something is wrong with my skype.
also my computer is really good (custom built gaming pc)

Same sort of thing is happening to me and has been happening for a while, except that it doesn't come back in 40 seconds. It's so annoying, and I'm convinced that skype is the biggest and most worthless piece of **bleep** program out there, I can't wait until there's a viable alternative. It will just stop mid call, as if the other person isn't talking, then it will become unresponsive. It's not like it's unresponsive and greyed out with Windows saying it can fix it, it just completely ignores everything. If I want to end the call, too bad. If I want to force quit the app, too bad. If I want to sign back on, too bad (it's already running). I have to restart my computer so many times throughout the day that it interferes with my work and I depend on Skype to connect my coworkers. It's so full of issues that I'm fed up. No updates or downgrades help me either, I've tried almost every one of the "good" ones.

Hello I recently just moved house and acquired BT Infinity 2. Ever since moving house and Internet provider joining skype calls keeps disconnecting my connection. I am currently on a wireless connection and have had BT Infinity since Thursday the 13th of February. If anyone could please help me I would be really happy.

I cannot currently connect to my Hub with an ethernet cable as my computer is upstairs. I do not understand how I never had this problem when I was on a 2mb download speed connection with Sky but now I have this problem on a 20mb download speed connection with BT.
Is there anything else I can do to solve this problem, I have tried turning my hub off and on but that doesn't seem to work? Would you recommend trying the reset button to make the hub default back to factory settings? I wasnt sure whether to try this since it sounded a bit scary and I didn't want to mess things up more.
Also while I'm here, how would I go about have an ethernet cable port put in my bedroom? Could I get an electriction to do this or would I have to get a BT Engineer to come and install me one as that would be the only way I could get a wired connection from the living room downstairs where my hub is to my bedroom upstairs?

I keep trying to call my friend on skype and I've tried everything from reinstalling skype to power-cycling my router, but The Skype call keeps failing! If you could, help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Being in one on one skype calls disconnects my int...

When im using skype and when im hosting a call my internet keeps disconnecting every few minutes. My internet is fine when not hosting a call or in a group call when someone else is hosting. this problem is occurring for 2 months now and before i was always the guy to host calls. I have tried the standard things like: Use port 80 and 443 and disable upnp. Im really annoyed.

That sounds like an issue with your router. Try bypassing your router to see what happens. If you router has any firmware updates available, apply them.

I'm having a really annoying problem here. Skype calls disconnect my internet at random intervals. It ONLY happens when I am in a Skype CALL. I could be gaming, or just minding my own business (staring at my desktop) and it will happen. I've tried several solutions but none of them seem to work. I've disabled uPnP.
I've used a port anywhere between 1000 and 65000.
I've checked and uncheck the "Use port 80 and 443 for additional incoming connections" multiple times. It never works.
Usually what I do is disconnect my computer from the router, and then reconnect it quickly, and it sets everything back to normal. (Normal internet connection). However, if I dont do that my internet will just stay disconnected for an extended period of time. (1-5 minutes, 5 being the longest I've experienced).
I run on Windows 7.
I have Microsoft Security Essentials.
My Skype version is 6.21.0.104
Please let me know if you need anymore information to solve my problem.

I purchased skype voip services, and trying to call pakistan from saudi arabia, but during last 4 days my all calls about 30-40 calls disconnect after 1 or one and half minutes. I am using nexus 4 android 4.4.4 and skype latest version. Also skype is not blocked in saudia arabia. Also i tried to make a call from my laptop but same issue. Is there any skype customer support number or email who can check my account and solve this issue

I have the same problem with Skype calls from Saudi Arabia to landlines. Strangely, when I call from Saudi to the U.K. or Saudi to Switzerland I get clean, uninterupted phone calls. When I call Saudi to the United States the calls are disconnected after a bit more than one minute. I suspect the local telecom is doing this to discourage Skype users. Does anyone have the same experience making Skype calls from the Kingdom?

Skype calls to pc drop pc's connection to internet

When in a skype call the connection between my computer and the interent will dissapear interupting the call. It does not seem to restart the router or even disconnect the computer from the router as all pther internet using devices remain fully opperational. The internet will remain unaccessable from this pc for as long as the call is attempting to reconnect OR untill I disconnect from the router and reconnect again.
As you can guess this gets frustraiting when you're trying to skype your girlfriend who's half a country away nad keep having to re-connect the call every 5 minutes at best.
The problem does not seem to be with the router as it is fine from all other devices including my android phone and several other windows laptops. It is also present on (assumingly) all networks including the D-Link router in use at home, the Virgin media Super hub I use at my uni house and on an ethernet connection I had in halls last year.
I will work on getting logs uploaded ASAP, however as it is currently late I don't really want to go ringing people to wait for the call to drop at some random point. I am also happy to provide any additional information which may be required to diagnose the issue, for starters here is the log from when I ran the network connectivity troubleshooter last time it disconnected in this way: http://pastebin.com/2zi99XyY

Skype call problem

I have another problem that has been reoccurring. I can accept the first skype call normally or Join a call normally. Then if I disconnect usually it'll reconnect back to call but if it doesn't then when I press the "Join" button I go into the call but its still trying to reconnect. Eventually it won't connect and I have to get someone to call me which then takes ages to accept the call. It seems as if skype is lagging. It takes probably about a good 1 min to accept the call. I press "Accept" but the music keeps running and the the button won't dissapear. Not sure what to do.

Can't make call after I upgrade to 7.2 skype.. it always says problem with playback device, what does it mean?
