"Skype can not connect" on Win 7 Desktop version?

Same problem here. I have skype on my Win7pc and Win8.1 on my laptop...but my win7 won't connect...but on my Win8.1 on my laptop its working fine. I'm unistalling and reinstalling skype on Win7 but even the installation is taking longer than usual. Internet connection is fine and I'm even on my pc right now logging in to the skype website and there are no issues. Only with skype desktop. I'm not linked to my Windows account and I don't want to change my password because I login using facebook which means I have to change Facebook password too. Anybody have any solutions yet?

Based on your description, I understand that you configure redirected folder via Group Policy. If anything
I misunderstand, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
Please logon the problematic computer by using that user who was redirected My Documents folder, then run
gpupdate /force command and monitor the result.

Is there a registry change I can make to redirect the path from the local C' to the UNC path?
Please type
regedit in Run to open Registry Editor and follow the path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders\Personal
HKEY_CURRENT_USER \Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders\Personal
Please check if Value data was set to correct path.
If any update, please feel free to let me know.

  • Can not Connect to Skype

    I can not connect to Skype anymore.I have added exception in my firewall and I am not behind a proxy. Every time I want to connect a the circle rotates only and after a few minutes I receive error message "Skype can not connect.Get help fixing this problem". I have checked every thing, I tried to change listening ports, but the problem remains.I did not have this problem previously and I was able to connect easily.

  • Desktop Skype Can't Connect

    Hello there, I haven't had many issues with the desktop Skype. It was only this morining that I was suddenly unable to connect. Whenever I would open Skype and try to log in, I would be met with the spinning animation "Signing In..." and after maybe two minutes, the screen would revert back to the login page with the caption "Skype can't connect". I am positive that both the username and password are correct (I even tested it with fake ones, yielding the same result). I have tried to fix this problem multiple times by uninstalling and reinstalling completely as detailed by the various guides within the help section but to no avail. I have restarted my computer and tried changing the port, but the issue still remained. I have no issues with the internet (chrome or IE), and the problem appears to only be isolated to Skype. I have not installed anything or changed anything with my computer between last night and this morning (I was on a call yesterday by the way), so I am unsure as to why the change happened so suddenly. I did have this issue once before, but it was fixed with just a Skype update. When I click "About Skype" the following version appears:7.2.59.103 I am using Windows 7 I am not the most tech-savy person, so I could have missed something, but all the guides and solutions that I have tried failed. Thanks.

    Try to reset all Skype settings. Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata% and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old. Next go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %temp%\skype and then press Enter or click the OK button. Delete the DbTemp folder. Restart Skype. N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.

    IP routing doesn't work the way many folks might initially think it does; functional IP routing requires manual configuration and the establishment of static routes and default routes specific to the local network configurations, and it's very easy to get it wrong, or to get the default route swapped. Multiple NIC boxes don't magically work, either. (Been there, done that, wondered what happened to my network when the paths got reordered or my route settings were messed up, etc.)
    Routing configuration errors can be quite subtle, too. (Again, voice of experience. Ever had a thousand-seat office LAN accidentally routing through your desktop? As the, um, unnamed guilty party discovered, getting into that configuration was subtle. Seeing the performance crater on the fellow's box and on the LAN was obvious.)
    Knowing how IP routing works is a prerequisite to getting this configuration to work; there's manual configuration required. Clearly something has gone weird here.
    What to do? Read up on IP routing. I'll again suggest the threads and the manual mentioned earlier.
    And in general, I prefer to avoid using my comparatively expensive Mac boxes as sub-optimal IP routers or as firewall boxes. General-purpose operating systems and generic x86 boxes are going to be inherently poor IP routers. Dedicated routers (or embedded or surplus x86 boxes with routing software loaded) offload the Mac boxes here, and are also typically easier to configure manage. And "real" IP routers can have hardware specific to efficiently routing packets. Use of an outboard firewall or firewall-router box also greatly simplifies gateway routing, too; it's a configuration that many folks and many businesses tend to use.

    Which "new version"? Websites think you are using Firefox 3.0.19, which is no longer supported. Maybe your User Agent is "stuck" on that old version?

    I've been working on this all day!!! I've tried everything I know of and can't get it to load either. Sounds like lots of people are having problems. Here is what I have so far...I have uninstalled EVERYTHING on my pc from apple and reinstalled itunes to no avail. I have tried all sorts of things I've read as fixes online. NOTHING has worked. Here is something interesting that i have noticed though. my main pc (which is the one i have always managed my itunes account with for years) is a 32 bit system running windows 7. Yesterday I installed itunes for the first time on my new netbook which is a 64 bit (windows 7) system and it works just fine. i have three other laptops (all window 7) in my household that are all 64 bit operating systems and ALL have updated to 10.5 and THEY ALL work fine. this is FOUR 64 bit systems ALL updated w/10.5 that work and ONE that is a 32 bit that will not. Can't get any help from apple. their suppot *****! I want to get someone on the **** phone or a live chat but cant. *** APPLE????? please let mw know if you find SOMETHING i can try next. I'm out of ideas and patience!
