Skype: can't be heard

My sister has an iPod Touch 3GS (32 GB), with firmware 3.1.3. She downloaded Skype (version 2.1.0) and she has the headphones with microphone, but when we try to talk I can't hear her, though she can hear me alright. Why is this?
Oh and btw, if you are going to suggest it, she can't update to iOS 4 right now.

Try to reset all Skype settings. Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata% and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old. Next go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %temp%\skype and then press Enter or click the OK button. Delete the DbTemp folder. Restart Skype. N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.

I'm newbie here, but it doesn't matter. I dont want to do here anything else, just write off my opinion about the Microsoft's "new" Skype, and I hope they will read...
This is a cropped image - of course hungarian, because I'm hungarian, but I think many of us could see this as well. How this is possible? "The Skype can not start because the system is not available" *** What kind of system? The Skype was on a P2P system, where is impossible that the system is not available! This is why the skype was much better than the Microsoft's messenger. Then they bought it, and make it wrong...
I found a solution for this problem, this can happen if my client is not updated. But IT IS!
How does it works? Can we use the **bleep** Skype how we would like to use? Or this time we need to find an other application (like Viber), and using that while they not buying that as well, just because that is better?

Everytime i bring up my skype program i log in and the blue circle spins for about 20 seconds. Then highlighted in yellow it comes up with, Skype can't connect. I have tried re-installing it, and fidiling with my internet options. My firewall is completly off and i dont use a proxy server i use a ADSL connection and i dont have a wireless router. Skype can't access my sound card

Skype can't access my sound card. It fails every time and says "problem with recording device."
I've tried running it as an administrator, uninstalling and reinstalling, I'm pretty sure I've turned off any realtek sound effects or enhancements. I've made sure that applications can take exclusive control, but nothing has helped so far. DirectX diagnostics attached below

Please, run the DirectX diagnostics tool.
Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post.
Be aware that you will have to zip this file before attaching it here.

Skype can't connect - How to get a refund?

I've spent hours going thru every post and recommendation (and there are a ton!) for the error message "Skype can't connect" and I STILL cannot connect (yes, I have the latest/only version; yes, my system requirements are met; yes, internet connection is fine; yes to every other piece of advice on this website). I need this service urgently to conduct business calls from abroad to the U.S. and have already paid for the unlimited subscription. Therefore, I would like an IMMEDIATE resolution to this connection problem or an immediate refund. PLEASE HELP.

I had no previous version of Skype; the latest one I downloaded is the only version ever on my computer, so this solution does not work, nor does any of the others I've tried on the many related threads on this community forum. Since there appears to be no other way to get Skype to work, I will have to find another way to contest the purchase of this service that doesn't work.

Skype 5 has been retired? What a shame! ....I'll never understand big companies and their questionable choices.... Oh well, I guess I'll use Skype 6 then, it's extremely ugly but at least it's pretty similar to Skype 5 in terms of layout...

The skype can't connect

Hi,
Two days ago the skype disconnect me during a conversation since that time there is no connection. I tried to change my password (since that time I can't log on either - because have no connection), uninstall and reinstall the program and I also checked the firewall already. I have Win operation system on my laptop.
This is the only possibility to keep contatc with my family in my home country so it would be important to fix the program.
I have skype credit what I also want to use.
I'm waiting for you answer.

i got a new pc and i couldnt get skype to work because i enter my information and it says ''skype can't connect''. i reinstalled skype, i restarted my internet, it worked on my other pc that was vista and i adjusted the capability. i dont know if it has to do with the update or my pc but can someone help me?

I encounted the same problem. In fact, what you have to do is to uninstall McAfee antivirus which simply blocks the access.
I've got the Microsoft Security Essentials and i'm more than happy with it.

I have tried around 4 posts here that happend to work for other people but it never worked for me,
I have tried clearing everything in IE, reinstall skype, change some settings in skype, change my password, reinstall skype again,
But nothing seems to solve my Skype can't connect, (it does have internet connection)
So please help me so I can use skype again !

If you have tried every relevant suggestion from How to Troubleshoot iSight but your camera is still not recognized anywhere in your System Profiler's USB Device Tree, you likely have a hardware problem.
Properly applying the Combo version of the latest update for your Mac OS can sometimes correct software problems, but, if your trouble is caused by a hardware problem, there are no user serviceable parts of the camera. For hardware help, contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service on your MacBook Air.

Can't be heard when making a call

When I make a call I can't be heard by others- speakerphone and Bluetooth both fine.
Is this a quick fix or will I need a new phone? Traveling out of country Wed and don't have much time.

I can't be heard when I make a call - Pantech Jest

Suddenly, whenever I make a call on my Pantech Jest, I can't be heard on the other end. I think, occaisionally they can hear something, but not much. Mostly it is as if it were muted, but it isn't. Unfortunately, I'm assuming the problem is the result of my baby getting his hands on the phone and playing with it, but he didn't smash it or anything that would cause obvious damage. I've only had the phone for 2 months, so I'd love to find a way to get it working again that didn't require getting a new one. If anyone has any ideas, I'd really appreciate it!

We just started having this problem too. Got our phone in December 2010. No baby playing with it, so maybe that's not the reason yours started having trouble either. Did you find a solution?
