Skype can't find my webcam!

Skype won't detect my webcam. I have a windows 7 desktop comuter. i deleted the program and redownloaded the older version but it wont except my login. I redownloaded the newer version but webcam still isn't working. Please help!

Please help me!! I am trying to figure out about webcam but I couldn't figure it out and I don't know why.. Because I have a built-in webcam in my laptop. I used webcam in Skype for few years until suddenly, video call (Skype) stop mean I was not able to use webcam. However, I can see person on webcam but I cannot see myself on webcam.. Skype can not find my web camera

Hello,
I have a problem with skype. I have the latest version and skype can not find my web camera. I have notebook ASUS K50INseries with USB 2.0 1.3M UVC WebCam. I also have windows xp with service pack 3. When I go to Tools/ Options/ Video settings there is "skype could not find a webcam". But this problem is only with skype. In other programs my webcam is working well.
If somebody knows where is problem, please help.

If you have tried every relevant suggestion from How to Troubleshoot iSight but your camera is still not recognized anywhere in your System Profiler's USB Device Tree, you likely have a hardware problem.
Properly applying the Combo version of the latest update for your Mac OS can sometimes correct software problems, but, if your trouble is caused by a hardware problem, there are no user serviceable parts of the camera. Hi, Since I updated the newer version of skype 6.11, my video does not work anymore. When I go under options, I get the message, "skype can't detect any webcam". I have a built-in camera in my laptop using windows 7. I know my camera works, but I don't know how to make skype detect my built-in camera. So far, I can call people, I see and hear them and they can hear me, but they can't see me since I don't even have the options to put on my camera anymore. Please, can anyone help me with this issue? I have already uninstalled and reinstalled skype, but it does not work. Thank you

Can I find a webcamera with wideangle?

I use a cheap Manhattan webcamera for Skype, which so far is good enough.
But I would like to have a camera with a wider angle, so two persons can be in the picture at the same time.
Can anybody tell me if such a camera exist?

Logitech C920 is the best webcam with wide angle. I used it for our Conference room which covers the whole conference room with excellent HD video calls...

I have Windows 7. During my first experiments my contact is unable to view my picture although I can see myself as well as my contact and Skype tells me the video scource isn't delivering the stream in the correct format, the voice is OK.
The webcam only has a choice of two formats JPEG and BMP and neither seems to help.
What am I doing wrong, could anyone please assist?

Normally its not necessary to change something on webcam settings. I have also Skype and makes no problems when I want to use the webcam. Everything works properly as it should be. :)
In your case I would recommend updating Skype software.
After this it should be possible to use the webcam but important point is that you can only use one program at the same time for webcam. So dont start webcam software if you use it with Skype.
By the way, newest webcam driver you can download from official Toshiba page.

I have an Advent Modena 202m and since I updated to the latest version (7.0.85.102) skype cant detect my webcam even though my webcam is switched on. I hit fn+f7 and it tells me the webcam is switched on.

Mac Skype can't find "Photos" only "Photobooth

Prior to upgrading to OS X Yosemite v10.10.3 I was able to click on the "send media, files, contacts" paper clip navigate to "send photos and files" in the contextual menu and be able to select either "Photo Booth" or "Photos" and choose a previously saved image. After the upgrade to the new OS X and upgrading to Skype 7.7 (335) I only have access to the "Photo Booth" photos. (See the attachment as an example) I can have the work around of using my iPhone, but this is a pain. Is there some configuration setting I am not aware of?

Three months later, a couple of versions of both skype and OS X have changed - Skype 7.10 (777) and OS X 10.10.5, but this annoying behavior remains the same. I have found a workaround - select the picture in Photos.app in the thumbnail preview, copy it with Command+C key combination, then select the skype picture in the profile and paste there with Command+V. Still annoying.

Hi there , Did you happen to do all of your updates in the HP Support Assistant? If no please use the HP Support Assistant to do all of your driver updates. Did you restart the Notebook? If not please use the Hard Reset Guide. I looked up your specific Model and I do see that some models do have the Webcam and some do not. You had said you were getting mixed messages from Skype and YouCam, and that you do have the Webcam area above the Notebook Display. This would lead me to believe that it is possible you have a Webcam. In the Device Manager under Imaging Devices, do you see the webcam now that you have done all of your driver updates, and restarted the Notebook? If you do not see a webcam, please right click on Imaging Devices and select Scan for hardware changes. If no entry under Imaging Device displays in Device Manager after running the scan, please follow this document called Webcam Troubleshooting (Windows 7). This document has a specific area called Video does not appear in your webcam software (such as YouCam, Skype, Messenger, etc.). Please follow the troubleshooting steps from there on. If this does not help please use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:
Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"

Just like the title asks, where can I find the integrated webcam for my HP G62t-350 Notebook PC? I have what looks like a rectangle in the top center of the screen/lid, in the bevel, but I'm not sure of how to get it to work, or if it's even able to work! I've seen pics of where there is a gray circle or dot in the middle of that rectangle, but I'm not able to see if I have one or not. Would someone please help me out here?
