Skype click to call will not uninstall

When I try to uninstall I get a message that the installed product does not mtch the installation source.
How do I find the right source?
Thanks.

Hi Jone,
Only for a note:
Cisco Unified Personal Communicator is not currently supported with Click to Call
Also Cisco IP Communicator v 2.1(3) or higher is supported. Cisco IP Communicator is supported in SCCP and SIP mode
For your problem i gues it may be due to a firewall existance or aproxy that direct your traffic
So you can check the following 2-points:
1.If a firewall exists between Cisco Unified Communications Manager and the client PC, your end user may not be able to use Click to Call.
Click to Call sends request messages to Cisco Unified Communications Manager over HTTPS using port number 8443. Therefore you need to configure the firewall or router to allow message requests and responses between Click to Call and Cisco Unified Communications Manager over HTTPS using port number 8443.
2. If your organization routes HTTP traffic via proxy servers to access the internet, you must add an exception for the internal HTTPS traffic sent from the Click to Call application to the Cisco Unified Communications Manager server.
So either add an exception for the IP address and port number of the Cisco Unified Communications Manager, or use the server name that is already covered by an exception. An example of th e full exception rule is https://:8443.

  • Skype click to call is not working in Safari 6 wit...

My Skype click-to call is not working on Safari 6 with OS X 10.7.4.  The number highlights, but when I click on the number, nothing happens. I do have Skype installed on the computer and it works fine. I am running Skype for the mac 5.8.0.1027 and skype extension for safari 2.1.0.10405. I have two other macs which are running OS X 10.6.8 and Safari 5.1.7 and the click to call (2.1.0.10405) works great on both of those. I can not get it to work on the mac running Lion. Any help? Thanks

I reverted back to Safari 5.1.7 from Safari 6 and now Click To Call works.
For anyone wondering how I did this, you can view instructions here:
    http://apple.stackexchange.com/posts/59342/revisions
I am new to using Macs and was able to follow these simple instructions. Takes a while for Pacifist to install 5.1.7, but it's worth it to have Click To Call working now.
You will not be able to do this if you have Mountain Lion as Mountain Lion requires Safari 6.
Lastly, the next time you update your Mac and it asks if you want to upgrade to Safari 6, say NO. At least not until you see that a fix has been posted here in these forums by either Skype or Apple.
P.S. I posted this reply using OSX 10.7.4 and Safari 5.1.7

  • Skype Click to Call Not Working for Landlines and ...

    Hello,
I am trying to use Skype Click to Call, but it does not seem to be working. I was able to call contacts using callto://CONTACT_NAME, but the second I try to call any mobile or landline number (I.E. - callto://9731234567), it does not work. Skype will come up, but it will not make the call. I am running on:
    Windows XP - 2002 Version
4 core Pentium processor (1.7 GHz)
    256 MB of RAM
    Google Chrome
If anyone could provide any insight or ideas, I would really appreciate it. I have already tried a large number of things to fix this issue. Thank you so much for any help!

Sounds that you have installed a Firefox Beta release and thus are on the beta update channel, see Help > About.<br />
The Beta update channel receives an update twice a week.
You need to install the current release to switch the update channel to release.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    *Firefox 27: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.

  • Cannot uninstall Skype Click to Call b/c Chrome

Hi. Not sure where I could post the question...
Anyway, I have the same problem with Skype Click to Call and I tried to uninstall it. A few seconds after I click "uninstall" the message would pop up asking me to "close all open Chrome windows before continuing". However, there was NOTHING open at that time. I made several attemts to uninstal it in different ways with the same result. I deleted Skype itself, but it did not help because Click to Call is a separate program. It is removed from Chrome extentions. I tried to download install it again and delete right away - same message. HOW TO GET RID OF CLICK TO CALL??? HELP!!!

There might be other applications that actually include Chrome to display web content. Try to uninstall Click2Call right after restarting Windows with no other applications open.

  • Skype Click to Call for Firefox 7 Installation Nig...

    All info as of Oct.08.
    Hi Guys:
I would like to start by telling you that I'm newbie to this community as not a Skype fan user and haven't used the application since its June version 5.3. I didn't upgrade my Firefox browser on its due time either as rather use Internet Explorer most of the time. All these three are installed on a Windows XP Home SP3 system.
Due to some IE7 settings misconfiguration early this week, I decided to use FF6 again while restoring IE to defaults, which means that plugins and toolbars are disabled or uninstalled in the process. After reinstalation and updating Adobe Flash, Java, etc.. noticed that the Skype Toolbar was definetively lost (uninstalled) to IE.
FF Add-ons Manager was showing the Skype Plugin (still version 5.3) as disabled, not compatible and with no updates available. I then proceeded to upgrade FF to NB7 recently released 27-09, and then applied latest update 7.0.1 released 29-09, but no change to the Skype Plugin upon clicking on update all add-ons and plugins.
BTW, release notes for this FF update 7.0.1 states: "Fixed a rare issue where some users could find one or more of their add-ons hidden after a Firefox update"... making me more confused and to look deeper into FF support, but with no success. I also tried FF Add-on Compatibility Reporter to no avail.
Therefore, it was time to go to Skype and as I usually first learn about latest changes, opened on (blogs.skype.com/garage/windows/) first, to find that there were two releases (an update to V5.5.119 (which I did) and an upgrade to a new build 5.6) on the same date (29-09) of FF's update to fix "hidden add-ons" - what a coincidence to add confusion -.
In both versions' release notes you can read that changes include: "Updated Skype Click to Call browser plugins and the addition of support for Firefox 7"... but no further explanation. Sorry guys but it was at that moment when I learned about that "Click to Call" name (formerly known as Skype Web Toolbars) which totally different from what I was searching for, making me do some more clicks to search and understand the difference between the installers provided.
I believe (and suggest) that if in that blogpost 29-09 in respect of the 5.5 update, the poster (Raul Liive) would have included a link to the Click to Call support page, it would have been a lot more easier for Firefox users to update their Skype installation, even though, it is not true that Click to Call "is automatically installed in Mozilla Firefox" as suggested in that support page. It only installs in Internet Explorer. In order to also install it in Firefox and/or Chrome, you must download its installer from that page.
At least this was my experience which could be taken as a quick reference - Installation Troubleshooting Guide (Provided "AS IS" and subject to Mods' approval):
    - Opened Skype 5.3 and clicked on the Updater to get version 5.5.119 installed.
    - Opened IE7 and verified that new Click to Call 5.6.0.8312 was present in my toolbar.
    - Opened FF7 and verified that old Skype Plugin 5.3 did not changed. Tried to update it again from within the application with no results.
    - Opened Control Panel > Add or remove programs, and verified Skype 5.5.119 correctly shown, but Click to Call was not. There it was still showing "Skype Toolbars 5.3.7280".
    - Closed all applications and proceded to remove Skype Toolbars from Control Panel.
    - Restarted the system and opened CP, IE and FF to verify Skype Toolbars successfully removed.
    - Optionally - ran CCleaner.
    - Downloaded Click to Call Installer and ran it to install it in both, IE and FF, which done   successfully.
    - Opened CP to verify it was then showed correctly as "Skype Click to Call 5.6.0.8312".
    - Opened FF to verify it now shows the plugin correctly as above with no imcompatibility
warnings. Made a test call successfully. Did same from IE.
*Notice: Please note that there is actually only one Click to Call installer (v5.6.0.8312) available at Skype.com, no matter what Skype (supported) version or browser (support for IE, FF and/or Chrome only) you are using. Also notice that when you open your browser for the first time after installing CtoC, a new Skype advertising tag will be opened... Don't worry, it will do it just once. A second advertising window will be opened after your Skype app opens when you make a call from your browser... at least it happened on my first test call and don't know if same for further calls (free account).
Sorry guys - long story - but hope this to be of any assistance to the community.
    Cheers,
    RickCP

Would also add that after doing the above troubleshooting you find any problem with your Click to Call feature just installed, or simply need to install or activate the plugin to another browser (one of the 3 supported for Windows) you are also using, you can run your Click to Call Installer again to choose between the following options provided:
    Change:
Lets you change the way features are installed (and on what browser are to be installed).
    Repair:
Repairs errors in the most recent installation by fixing missing and corrupt files, shortcuts and registry entries.
    Remove:
Removes Click to Call from your computer.

  • Skype Click to Call ERROR

I am running Windows 7 and the problem started right after updating Skype yesterday. I have tried removing it in Safe mode, as well as running CcCleaner. I have tried reinstalling the "Skype Click to Call" and I have tried uninstalling the main Skype application.
Recently there was an update with Skype. I updated the software which seemed to install something called "Skype Click to Call". Every few minutes a Windows Installer dialogue will pop up saying that it's trying to install "Skype Click to Call" but will then stop midway and say the following error dialogue:
"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A script required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."
The same error and sequence of events happens if I try to: Disable "Skype Click to Call" from my Google Chrome browser (the plug-in), Uninstall it from Chrome, uninstall it from Add/Remove Programs, and repair or uninstall it from the Stand-Alone installer for "Skype Click to Call".

My wife is having similar problems with Chrome since her Skype updated.
She has Windows Vista, and Skype now can take up to an hour to finish loading, since the update, and Chrome locks up and crashes.
Trying to uninstall the Click To Call plugin from Chrome, it just hangs while trying to uninstall it, and if you try to uninstall it from Windows it also just sits there Preparing To Uninstall.
The plugin gave JS errors running on my Firefox 8, which disappeared when I disabled it.

  • Skype click to call interferes with Microsoft Offi...

Skype click to call interferes with copy/cut-paste in Excel and generally in Microsoft Office. Once installed it allows text-only pasting leading to time-loss in reformatting text. The problem is easily resolved by unistalling it.
Here are some proposed steps to improve it -
It needs better bug-testing before release
It needs to move away from piggy-backing on Skype (without asking user's permission to install/ update itself) and instead needs to be launched separately. This would also solve the iddue (for Skype) of people abandoning and uninstalling SKype altogether because of the buggy Skype click to call thing
Respect the user and the user's choice - and finally never ever take your user for granted (as the auto installation of Skype click to call has demonstrated)

Me too! I thought it was a Google Chrome problem. I even rebuilt my laptop over it and spent a whole day on the phone with Geeksquad! I just uninstalled Click-to-call and now the problem is gone.
This is a really big deal, people use copy/paste all the time and expect the formatting to work. I'm telling everybody to uninstall click-to-call and/or don't install it in the first place. I hope somebody gets serious and fixes it. And, Skype will have to acknowledge the problem and tell me it is fixed before I will give click-to-call another shot.
Not trying to be a jerk - that is just the truth of it.

  • Skype Click to Call slows down Facebook

Same as others on this thread.  Facebook slows, then freezes, then a pop-up says Skype Click to Call plug-in unresponsive.  I see this pop-up has been plaguing others for several months now.  I have been seeing it for about a week now.  I uninstalled Click to call, so other plug ins were blamed. Now S. Click to call is back.  Why has Skype not fixed this?  And how can I fix it?

Click to Call is installed automatically when you reinstall / update Skype using the Full installer. Go to the Control Panel and uninstall Click to Call Plugin toolbar.

  • Before I update, is firefox 27.0.1 compatable with Skype click and call?

Every time I update Firefox I lose Skype click and call and have to wait weeks for access to it again. I now will not update Firefox until I know it is comparable with Skype click and call.
Is firefox 27.0.1 compatable with Skype click and call at this time?

I presume ''"Skype click and call"'' is official [http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox-portable-esr Skype] software.
If you need skype and this happens on every update an unoficial solution would be to install Firefox portable ESR as an additional browser and then use that for skype whilst using the fully updated Firefox Release for all other browsing. (Firefox Portable is based on Mozilla Firefox, the ESR version probably will remain compatible with skype and not have problems on updates )
    * http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox-portable-esr
The official solution would be to use Firefox Releases and update Skype. Complaining to Skype as necessary when it is not compatible with the Firefox Releases. Skype will be aware of the Release dates and will be able to test and modify their software as necessary whilst using public pre release versions of Firefox. <br />Presumably Skype is controlled by MS and they would prefer you to always use IE and not use Firefox at all.

  • Skype Click to Call Incompatible with Firefox 10.0

When will Skype Click to Call be compatible with Firefox 10.0?

I'm not a computer expert, but I have found Skype to be easy to navigate. Now, when I download the Firefox 10.0 update so my system runs properly, I discover that I'm not the only person to encounter the Click Call removal from almost all my contacts.
Is there a way to resolve this issue sooner than later. My personal gripe is that I need to communicate daily with a work contact in the far Eastern Carribean and Skype is the only way we can do so without running up a large hourly cell or landline rate. Even on Skype, the per-minute rate isn't a great bargain. Aside from rates, is there en asy solution to this problem?
