Hi there
I upgraded to the latest Skype v7.6.64.105 - ever since my Skype crashes when I make a call  - oddly I get "not responding" but the call continues - I cannot press any Skype buttons during this time - when the call ends - the other person needs to hang up - then my Skype crashes and needs to restart.
I've uninstalled, restarted, reinstalled.
Cleared the %appdata% Skype folder - renamed this folder - had Skype recreate this folder.
I've done a system restore - same issue - then uninstalled/reinstalled.
Windows was upto date prior to system restore - then performed updates again.
My video drivers are up to date. Checked dell for updates - updated bios.
Reading on other boards - people are advised to run DxDiag - which I did and have attached. Skype seems to continue to work as expected when only using 'chat' - not audio. My audio devices drivers are up to date too?
I am at a loss now - please can you help?  Faulting application name: Skype.exe, version: 7.6.64.105, time stamp: 0x55916aec

Skype is crashing on Intel graphics driver. The error message indicates that the issue is with "Switching Graphics" (NVIDIA <-> Intel). There are no driver updates available for Windows 8.1 for your laptop on the Dell site. However, you can try to update the NVIDIA NVS 4200M driver directly from the NVIDIA site. http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/86814/en-us

Hi there! Whenever I call someone (or as soon as I click on "Accept" if someone calls me), Skype fully crashes. I am running fully updated Windows 7 Home along with fully updated Skype (version 6.21.0.104). So far, I have tried:
    Uninstall/reinstall
    Installing beta
    Updating audio drivers
Checking the Event Viewer for logs for this event (none appear to be logged, and I cleared the event logs before I tried Skype last)
I currently have no IP cameras or webcam connected to this computer (I only use Skype for audio)
I have attached my dxdiag file to this post. I've been trying to find the solution to this problem on the forums, but no solution appears to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

OK. This was exactly why I was asking for the 32-bit diagnostics. You have IP camera still installed.
    Video Capture Sources:
    IP Camera [JPEG/MJPEG],0x00200000,0,1,IPCamera.ax,5.08.0000.0000
This virtual video capture device is not shown in 64-bit diagnostic, but is detected in 32-bit.
It's for sure that Skype will crash as long as this device is installed.
In some cases the problem was resolved by reinstalling IP Camera and uninstalling this application again.
You can also try to search your computer for the IPCamera.ax file and unregister this file.

  • IPhone 6 Plus 64GB (iOS 8.1 or 8.1.1) springboard crashes repeatedly when making phone calls via Continuity on Macbook Pro Retina Mid 2014 using Yosemite 10.10.1

I USED TO be able to make phone calls using continuity on my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) with Yosemite (10.10) via my iPhone 6 Plus on iOS 8.1 without any problems.  Once I updated Yosemite to 10.10.1, my iPhone's springboard would continually crash where it brings up the Apple logo and quickly restarts repeatedly until I end the call.  Just so that you know, I am able to stay on the call while this is occurring the whole time.
I need to reiterate, this all started happening as soon as I updated Yosemite to 10.10.1 while still on iOS 8.1.  I know this because I made a few phone calls (loving the feature), updated Yosemite to 10.10.1, then made a few phone calls afterwards, and this started happening.
When iOS 8.1.1 came out, I eagerly updated hoping this issue would go away, and it did not.  I'm hoping Apple notices this post.  If anyone else has this problem, please contact Apple and chime in this post as well.  Thank you Apple for incorporating continuity calling. I love this feature, but need to use it without my phone's springboard constantly crashing.

I have this issue as well. I am using an iPhone 6 plus, iPad Air 2, 5K iMac, and MacBook Pro. When I make a continuity calls from any device, the springboard crashes. This only happens with outgoing calls, incoming calls are functioning normal. I am currently working with multiple Apple Senior Advisors, and they are working directly with iOS a engineers. I have an active open case and will update this thread when a resolution is found.
Just a tip for everyone with this issue, restoring your devices and setting them up as new WILL NOT correct this issue. Save yourself the hassle. I did this with my iPhone, iPad, and MacBook and the issue still persists.

  • On IPhone 5S, when making cell calls, it connects to FaceTime.

On IPhone 5S, IOS 7.1.2, when making cell calls, it connects to FaceTime.

    Hey there siteshop,
It sounds like you are still hearing the phone line ringing even after the person you call answers the line. I would try the troubleshooting outlined in this article:
iPhone: Troubleshooting issues making or receiving calls
    https://support.apple.com/kb/TS3406
Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings > Enable Airplane Mode, wait five seconds, then turn off airplane mode.
Ensure that your software is up to date:
Check for a carrier settings update.
Check for an iOS software update.
Note: Some updates may require a Wi-Fi connection.
If the iPhone has a SIM card, reseat the SIM card.
If the iPhone 4 or iPhone 4s is on the Verizon network, dial *228 from the iPhone and select option 2 to update the Preferred Roaming List (PRL). The PRL determines the cellular towers the phone uses for cellular service, selecting those with the best signal strength.
Reset the network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Try to make or receive calls in another location.
Attempt to isolate to one network band:
If you're having the issue on LTE, disable LTE, if possible, and try again.
If you're having the issue on 3G/4G, disable 3G/4G, if possible, and try again.
Contact the carrier to check the following:
Your account is properly configured to use the specific iPhone that has the issue.
There are no localized service outages.
    Your account doesn't have a billing-related block.
Your calls don't have errors on the carrier system.
    Restore the phone as new.
If the above steps don't resolve the issue, go to an Apple Retail Store, carrier, Apple Authorized Reseller, or contact AppleCare to send the phone in for service.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,
    Sterling

  • HI I have an Iphone 3GS and the microphone jack works when I play music but not when making phone calls.   please help as I use it for conference calls

Hi   I use my phone for conference calls and use the microphone jack to connect to speakers.      It doesnt work when making phone calls but when i play music on the phone the jack works with the external speaker.

Happy to have been of help. Hope all goes smoothly.
BTW, for the sake of others who may help you here, it's usually most polite if you mark the post that answered your question as being the one that "solves" it, not your own post. That's how people get points here, if a questioner marks their post as either "helpful" or "solving". It's not an issue for me, but for those just starting out in the forums it may be important to them. See:

I just tried to help another guy in another discussin with similar problems.
    Headset input is not working
I would suggest a iPhone restore and fresh load from Backup... but it is no guarantee.

Siri used to work fine when making mobile calls in Ecuador until yesterday, when the administration of Ecuador added an aditional number in all mobile numbers existing in Ecuador. Since then Siri is unable to make any mobile calls with any new number.Help
I`ve tried restarting, rebooting, nothing works.
The interesting thing is that SIRI can call to previous mobile numbers (without the new digit) obviously not connecting , and, can call to any other numbers as an office or home number. So the problem is the new digit in the mobile number

Ecuador has added an extra digit to mobile phone numbers but apple wont accept 10 digit phone numbers so we cant use facetime or apple IM or verify our new phone numbers. ( and Siri won't work either!) I have contacted apple support online but can't request a call back as the apple system says our new phone numbers are invalid. I am going to phone them tomorrow and you should complain too at http://www.apple.com/support/contact/.  . The more people that bring this to their attention the faster it will get fixed

Just downloaded FACETIME on my 4yr. olf Imac running Snow Leopard. When making a call to my friend's Imac all works correctly going both ways. When my wife calls me via Facetime from her Ipad, I cannot click on "accept"- not there? When called by the Imac (newest), the "accept" or "reject" radio button appears for me to click and connect. On my wife's Ipad the two radio buttons always appear when a call actiivates Facetime and comes on?
There is nothing I can find in "Preferences" in Facetime to turn that on or off. I suspect it has to do with having a more current operating system; that the "controls" are in the operating system? [I'm guessing] It's frustrating getting Facebook calls from several friends on Ipads! Any ideas...VFP

I suspect it has to do with not having a more current operating system
Exactly, what Apple is doing is leveraging new features only on newer OS X versions to force you to upgrade OS X to 10.7 or later.
What they don't tell you is 10.7 or later will NOT run your PowerPC based software, some of it you can't get Intel versions like for perfectly working printers, scanners and games etc. So it can be a very expensive OS X upgrade to 10.7 or later with third party software.
    http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
Also they don't tell you is the risk in bricking your machine if the update goes badly, so you have to have AppleCare in case that occurs so it's on them to fix it. Else your paying money to replace the logicboard or buying a new machine prematurely.
A four year old machine can't have AppleCare, it's only good for 3 years from date of purchase new.
Your machine came with a boot hard drive, it's usually got about 4-5 years of life on it, then it needs to be replaced.
Also they don't tell you the newer OS X version has more abilities and features that causes your machine to slow down in performance, especially on older machines.
Also they implement new, idotic and extremely fustrating new user interface features in a arbitrary "you take it or leave it" manner with little or no fall back method.
So upgrading OS X is a gamble on older machines that otherwise would likely work perfectly fine for the next 5 years if one didn't need to have to mess with it.
Since Snow Leopard has slightly over 25% OS X version market share, your still good for security updates etc for the next few years if you just want to stay where your at and be happy.
OS X 10.4/10.5 need to upgrade, 10.6.8 ok still
The Lions are, well, not so welcome due to Scott Forstall retard UI issues, OS X Mavericks 10.9 is likely going to fix things a bit better.
But basically what is occuring is Apple is trying to force a faster hardware upgrade cycle with the more expensive products by leveraging features on the smaller devices that expire sooner.
Apple is a hardware company that leverages whatever it can to get you to buy more hardware, it's why they are as rich as they are.

  • When making a call, sometimes, my iPhone 5 , gets stuck on 'Calling' than I have to press END..but still nothing happens, than when I press HOME button, the call app keeps running in the background and it keeps saying CALLING... please help

When making a call, sometimes, my iPhone 5 , gets stuck on 'Calling' than I have to press END..but still nothing happens, than when I press HOME button, the call app keeps running in the background and it keeps saying CALLING... than I have to wait 2 - 3 minutes and call again.
    please help

Has nothing to do with the SIM or master reset.  This has been done to my phone.  The SIM once and the factory reset many times over.  You all just sold us a bad piece of equipment and have us by the tail with our contracts so none of us can get a new phone without paying full price or re-upping our contract.  I just got off the phone last night with your high up tech people (you know, the hidden number we get once we tear into your support people enough), they went into my phone again and still didn't find anything wrong.  I about got fired from my job for not getting my calls and texts.  The BBB has now been contacted, and I feel your end should shore this up for all of us!

  • I phone 3 just shuts down after 3 to 4 mins when making a call large apple logo apears on screen the only way to reboot is to charge charge it although there is enough battery.any answers thanks

i phone 3 shuts down after 3 to 4 mins when making a call - then large apple sign apeers  phone frozen - only way to unlock is to re charge although there is enough battery - any answers would be welcome.

    The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
Restart... Reset... Restore from Backup...  Restore as New...
    Restart / Reset
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    Backing up, Updating and Restoring
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
But... This can happen if the phone has been Hacked / Jailbroken / Modified...
If this is the case... Then... None of the above will necessarily work...
    And...
The discussion of Jailbroken Devices is against the Terms of Use of this Forum.
You will need to look elsewhere.

  • Iphone shuts down when making a call

Please help my iphone shuts down when making a call restored and set to new phone but still shuts down after 2 to 3 mins  HELP

I'm having exactly the same issue with my iphone, and same specs. It's a new work phone so discussed with IT manager. She advised returning it so it could be sent back for repair. Would be interested if you have heard of any other fixes as not keen to be without the phone, although that needs to weighed against the fact it randomly shuts down when a call comes in!

  • When making a call if you touch the phone with your face, you touch the speaker or mute button

When making a call if you do not roll the screen to home if you have the phone to close to your face it touches the mute or speaker buttons. Is there a setting in the phone that will automatically roll the screen so if you touch with your face it does not happen?

There is a sensor that disables the screen when you hold the phone to your face. If you didn't remove the plastic film from the front of the phone, or you have a case on the phone, it can block that sensor and you will encounter the symptom you describe. So try removing any case and check for the shipping film (which is hard to see).

  • When making a call NO DIAL TONE

when making a call NO DIAL TONE, and can't here the other person talking. Only
if pressing SPEAKER or when using the iPhone Stereo Headset.(SILENT BOTON IS OFF) please help!!

Hello LA1, first off since iphone is a Cellular Phone there is no dial tone, as far as no sound though the earpiece on your iphone, try pluging/unpluging the headset from the jack on top of the iphone a few times, that usually clears up that problem.
    Hope this helps.
