Skype crashing/freezing without an error

So this problem is completely random and I wish I would get an error so I can actually resolve this issue but what happens is, at any given point the program will just freeze, it will not say that it's (not responding), it doesn't do any of that, it's just literally frozen with the call being stuck as well so nothing works, I can't exit with the X at the top right, I have to open the task manager or wait around 30 seconds for it to instantly close (with no message or anything)
I'm on windows 8.1 64-bit  with the most up to date Skype version I can get at this time which is (7.5.80.101)

  • Skype crash / database i/o error AGAIN

It is all happening again after 1 or 2  weeks without any problems... I posted this (http://community.skype.com/t5/Windows-desktop-client/Database-i-o-error-since-a-week-havent-been-able-to-fix-it-with/td-p/4048693) topic and got help, but now it is all happening again. How could this be possible?

That error occurs when Skype can't write any data or if that data is corrupted.  If it continues to occur on your machine there are two possibilities. 1.  You have AntiVirus/Firewall/Security software that is preventing Skype from writing to the hard drive.  You want to make sure Skype and all it's working folders are put into the exclusion list of that software.  Mainly  the location%appdata%/Skype. 2.  You hard drive has some corruption or is failing.  A chkdsk should be run to attempt to resolve any file corruption issues.  This guidance can be used on Windows XP and above.http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/guide-to-using-check-disk-in-windows-vista/ You would still probably have to perform the same reset procedure you performed earlier to elminate the existing corruption.

  • When I open my browser it reloads itself 10 times before it stops. & will crash occassionally without an error report.

This happens every time I open my browser or even hit my home button! Then at some point during my session it will just close. No error message - nothing! This all began when I went to bookmark a site yesterday (clicked bookmarks) and it started flipping out ~ opening all sorts of pages... So I closed the browser and hence the problem I am having now continues....

  • When going to another page on a website firefox will crash completely without any error message.

I have tried the troubleshooting tips provided by Firefox but problem keeps coming up.
I mostly have trouble with the ilovehits.com website.
All the links on the site menu work fine except the "Start surfing"
link......When I click on that link Firefox will crash and I am returned to my desktop.
I have to activate Firefox again to browse.

    See:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > General : Accessibility : [ ] "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page"
The setting in "Tools > Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.

  • Flash Player 9 Crashes Without An Error Message

    Hello,
Since I downloaded the latest update of Flash Player 9
(december 2007?), my problems started. Flash Player 9 crashes (IE7)
without an error message at sites like:
    Zoo Tycoon.com
    My own site
    And many more.
To give you guys as much information as possible about the
    problem:
    - The first site shouldn't give a warning, and it didn't,
till I downloaded the update of Flash Player 9. It now looks like
    this >
    Screen
    - The second site is my own site, which should look like this
    >
    Screen
(Screen is made at an older PC, which hasn't got the update of FP9
    installed!)
    - It now looks like this>
    Screen
(Screen is made at my current PC, Windows XP with the update
    installed.)
    - I also can't upload pictures at some sites, because they
    require Flash >
    Screen
    - Adobe says I've succesfully installed the latest version of
    Flash Player, version 9.0.115.0 >
    Screen
    My system is:
    - Microsoft Windows XP
    - Home Edition
    - Version 2002
    - Service Pack 2
    - Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.00GHz
    - Clock Rate 3.01GHz, 1.50GB
    - Internet Explorer 7
I'm now forced to use an older machine, Windows 2000, to
update my site and view other sites, because that PC doesn't have
the Flash Player update installed. ;)
Things I tried to solve the problem:
    - Uninstall and reinstall
    - Read and tried all the Troubleshooters at this site
    - Adobe's uninstall program
    - SubInACL
    - Installed an older version of Flash Player (7 & 8)
    - Regedit
    - Manually renamed the files in the SYSTEM32/Macromed/Flash
folder (like explained on the forum)
Could someone please help me? I'm probably not the only one
    dealing with this problem...
    Regards,
    Sophie
P.S.: I'm Dutch, so please don't mind my English....
    :)

Is there no-one who knows the answer? And nobody who has the
    same problem? :(

  • Photoshop cs2 crashes and reboot windows xp without any error message when I try to open a file

    Hi,
I downloaded the trial version (assessment for thirty days) of Adobe Photoshop cs2. Once installed the trial version, the program works correctly, except for a basic function: to open files and modify them. Any image files (jpeg-gif-png-tiff-bmp-psd) on press command FILE>OPEN, or Ctrl+O, to open it, sends the system in crash, and without any warning message, send to "restart" the operating system, in my case , windows xp.
I use also photoshop cs, and it works correctly and allows to open file image also; but not with cs2.
    What's the problem?

The error message I see in a Event Viewer after the program crashed is the following:
    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: Userenv
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 1041
    Date: 22/03/2009
    Time: 09:05:52
    User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
    Computer: PENTA
    Description:
Windows cannot query DllName registry entry for
{CF7639F3-ABA2-41DB-97F2-81E2C5DBFC5D} and it will not be loaded. This is most likely caused by a faulty registration.

I Need Help Can You Resolve This Problem

Lotfi are you receiving any error messages during the installation?  I would recommend reviewing your installation logs for errors.  Please see Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CC - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cc.html for information on how to locate and interpret your installation log files.  You are welcome to post any specific errors you discover to this discussion.

  • If I connect my iPhone/iPad iTunes 11.0.1 freezes, without error message.... what can I do?

When i open iTunes 11.0.1 everything is fine, but when i connect any iDevice to it it completely freezes, without so much as a warning or an error message. I tried different cables, devices and reset and restarted everything. Anyone else experiencing this, and what can i do?
The only option is to force quit the application and there seems to be no simple solution...

iTunes runs on your computer, not your phone. Install the latest version of iTunes on your computer. If you're using a Mac, and running OS X 10.5, you will need to upgrade OS X first.

  • EncoreDVD CS3 crashes without an error message - perhaps not enough RAM?

    Hi,
my Encore DVD CS3 crashes without any error message!
I made a DVD with a main menu and two submenus, one submenu for the chapters of my movie and the other submenu for a bonus part of my DVD. I'd linked all content to the buttons, except the videos of the bonus-submenu. When I tried to link them (therefore I used the flowchart), Encore just crashed - without sending any error message!
I've only 1GB RAM in my iMac - perhaps it's simply not enough? Could this be the reason for the crash?
    Greetings, Micha

Could be anything, not necessarily a memory issue, even though 1 Gig really isn't much by today's standards. It's imaginable that there is a problem with latching on to the chapter points and EN doesn't generate the list correctly. Could also be drawing issues for the pickwhip gizmo stuff... Hard to tell without sitting in front of the machine.

  • Skype keeps crashing randomly (without crash repor...

Hello everyone. My skype application is continuously crashing for what seems like no reason at all. Sometimes its right when I load skype and it signs in (it will just up and say 'stopped responding') or sometimes an unknown amount of time after signing in. And it will always happen near instantly. For example, I was roleplaying with a friend on Skype and was typing out a reply to them. Right in the middle of my reply, everything was perfectly fine. But for some reason, Skype crashed without even having a warning. Just 'Skype has stopped working' near on a second without any kind of precursor event at all. It doesn't even provide me with a crash report either. Someone help me, I've been pulling my hair out with it for the past month!

What is the version of Internet Explorer installed on your computer?
In Internet Explorer go to Help -> About Internet Explorer.
P.S. Please, don’t say that you are not using Internet Explorer. This is irrelevant. Skype depends on Internet Explorer.

  • Skype Crashing - ieframe.dll error

    Hello
I've recently got myself a new PC and have installed Skype on it. Since then it has been crashing fequently but at random times. After looking into the error, I found it to be a problem with 'ieframe.dll', a file used by Internet Explorer.
    This is the error details:
Faulting application name: Skype.exe, version: 6.20.0.104, time stamp: 0x53fd9215
Faulting module name: ieframe.dll, version: 11.0.9600.17280, time stamp: 0x53f26cda
    Exception code: 0xc0000005
    Fault offset: 0x00064778
    Faulting process id: 0xc9c
    Faulting application start time: 0x01cfd665a9ee092b
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe
    Faulting module path: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ieframe.dll
    Report Id: c740e610-426b-11e4-8f4a-e03f497f7724
I've looked online and found several places where this error is reported, however none of the fixes suggested worked for me.
    I have tried:
     - Clearing the Skype folder
     - Reinstalling Skype
     - Uninstalling IE updates (The futhest I could roll it back was IE8 on my Windows 7 PC)
     - Deleated temporay IE files and such
And probabley a few other things I can't remember.
None of them have worked and the program is still crashing. I am wondering if I am going to be forced to reinstall Windows in the hope of it fixing the broken ieframe.dll file, but I don't want to do this unless I have no other choice as it is time consuming to remove all my files from my PC so I can do so.
If anyone has any additional suggestions that I might try, please let me know.
    Thank you.

You can also try to revert your Internet Explorer to the previous IE10 or IE9 version.
In order to uninstall IE11 you should go to Windows Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> View installed updates -> Microsoft Windows -> Internet Explorer 11.

  • Skype crash and disk errors - a cautionary tale

Skype crashed (again) hanging the whole computer. Forced shutdown: restarted in single-user mode and ran Applejack. Reported a number of overlapping files. Nasty.
Ran DiskWarrior. It reported 197,192 overlapping files and hung. I thought about it a bit, re-ran Applejack and flushed the caches. This left only a couple of minor errors which were easily repaired.
Presumably Skype messed up its own cache files (197,000 though...!). Anyway, despite what Applejack's instructions say, it looks like it's worth clearing the caches before doing a disk repair - or at least before doing anything else if this sort of error shows up.

Most modern drives automatically map bad sectors during use. It is a transparent process. Just because the drive has bad sectors means nothing - practically every drive will have them. What would be disturbing is if the automatic sector mapping is failing and is not discovering the bum sectors. This is why once a drive starts to behave badly and DiskWarrior can''t fix it, I never trust it again.
If I keep it in use, about the only thing it's good for is a render scratch drive - that is - a drive that simply holds temp files. That way, when it dies, nothing serious is lost. Using it as your only back up, especially after it has given fair warning of going bad, would be ... um ... not smart.
Under the fwiw category, external drives can act flaky simple through dying power supplies. The drive mechanism may be fine but is being corrupted by intermittent or wavering voltage.
Also, I'm no fan of partitioning. ymmv.

    x
