Skype crashing frequently windows 8.1
My both skype for desktop and windows application skype are not working properly. I have latest version of skype, I have updated version of windows 8.1 and all, but from 4 days whenever I get a skype call or whenever I try to make a skype call, desktop application started crashing. I used windows default skype application after 2 days it also started to crash. I uninstalled and reinstalled both for 2-3 times but still problem exists. can I have any solution for this?

Please, run the DirectX diagnostics tool.
Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post.

iTunes 11.0.1.12 and Windows 7 (32 bit, latest version). iTunes crashes frequently (Windows message : "iTunes has stopped working and will be closed"). I may be trying to search for an App. or book (or anything else), trying to access iTunes store, checking for updates to Apps., inputting my password, etc. etc. I have uninstalled iTunes several times, reinstalled several times, but the error persists. I tried the iTunes 10 suggested fix of running in safe mode, but iTunes again crashed when I was trying to create a new ID.
Any real help would be gratefully received. Thank you.Still having this issue

Another Skype crashing on Windows 7 with the new u...
My Skype has never crashed until this update. I would delete skype and reinstall it and then it would work again for the rest of the night, until the next time I loaded it up to use again. Now that isn't working anymore. I did the Event Viewer thing people have been telling others to do here, but I have no idea how to read what's wrong and how I can fix it.

Skype crashes randomly Windows 8.1 Pro
I'm having an issue where my skype is crashing randomly on my computer at work.
It's making it very frustrating to use. My guess is it's a video driver issue but I downloaded a new driver for that already.
Here is the information from my event viewer.

Skype crashing pc, windows 10
Every time I open Skype, it'll start doing the entire Not Responding, but then it completely crashes my entire pc. I can't ctrl-alt-del into task manager, can't kill it by closing it, nothing. It just makes everything crash, including the entire windows process. No other app makes my computer behave this way. I can replicate it 100% of the time just by opening Skype.
There is no record of Skype crashing and being that you have an AMD R series card the compatibility issue is with the video drivers. Since you upgraded to Windows 10 your options for alternate drivers are limited. The best option may end up being to downgrade to an earlier release of the Skype Desktop application. You can try the solutions listed here: http://community.skype.com/t5/Windows-desktop-client/Skype-BSODs-very-often/m-p/4066488/highlight/true#M358889 You can also try the Skype Translator Modern app as an alternative: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/apps/skype-translator-preview/9wzdncrdtbw7

HiI updated skype to it´s latest version and now it crashes down ever time I want to skype with somebody. I tired to uninstall and install it again but the same problem ever time.
I will try the new version to my XP machines.
I don't recommend 6.23 and higher beacuse of some issues, like crushing when images have been send to them. But anyway. I will try.
Thanks for the info.
I'm a little late to news. (giggle) -

I was using firefox 5.0.1 & it was crashing frequently.I removed the installation & tried to reinstall.I getting a window asking for adminstrator password.Even after entering password, firefox was not getting installed
Sorry you are having problems. First of all try Fifrefox's safemode.
*[[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]]
If that works post back for further advice.
Next step, if safe mode did not work.
<u>First: Try a clean install, (you have had a none standard version installed previously)</u><br /> that involves deleting the program files. Then if necessary try troubleshooting by creating and using a clean empty Firefox profile.
See
* this recent post [/questions/940399#answer-377134]
* http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Clean_reinstall
<u>Second: try a New Profile</u>
*http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Manager#Creating_a_new_profile
* this will be an additional profile, it is still worth backing up any existing or currently working profile on a regular basis
**[[Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles]]
* Until you are absolutely confident about the repercussions I suggest
** always use an empty folder when creating a new profile
** never delete or rename profiles, just disable or remove shortcuts
** after creating a new test profile open it and check for any addons or plugins that may be have been included by default -
Skype 6.20 Windows XP SP3 crashes at launch
I upgraded from Skype 6.old to 6.20 because I couldn't log in. Now, whenever it starts it immediately pops up a crash "Skype has encountered a problem and needs to close.".
I have the latest updates for Windows XP SP3, no firewall, and AVG Free virus scanner that only complains about 'tracking' cookies.
I also tried installing skype 6.13, which I had floating on another computer, but that has the same crash as skype 6.20.
Curiously though, as long as I don't close the crash dialog, Skype appears to work normally and I can use every feature, including webcams.

I have the same problem.
Windows XP SP3.
No real-time antivirus but PC scanned periodically, 100% virus free.
No firewall.
Skype worked ok until last month (version 6.5).
Now, I can't connect and I need to update.
Tried all the latest versions: 6.18, 6.19, 6.20.
Skype crashes on startup with a KERNEL32 error message.
If I not confirm the crash report, skype seems to go online, but if I try to send a call or a message it does not work.
I tried for several days: installation, remove, re-installion, clean all the file in "skype" folder, create a new user, reinstallation from the new user, reinstallation IE, reinstallation DirectX, etc.
It is impossible to make it work.
I need it to work and family and now I'm stuck.
Please resolve this problem or let me the permission to use of an old version.
Please, run the DirectX diagnostics tool (32-bit version).
Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post.
Be aware that you will have to zip this file before attaching it here. -

Explorer crashes frequently on two Windows 7 64 machines
Hi,
I have two users on the network who are experiencing frequent crashes of Windows Explorer. In all cases the crashes are being caused by invalid write I have been collecting crash dumps and trying to analyze them in Visual Studio 2013, but without
success.
Is it still possible to upload a crash dump for analysis by Andre or another Microsoft expert?

Plz help, I haven't tried anything yet.Try to reset all Skype settings.
Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata% and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old.
Next go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %temp%\skype and then press Enter or click the OK button. Delete the DbTemp folder.
Restart Skype.
N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder. -
Skype crashing when shutting down windows 8
Each time I click shutdown, or restart on windows 8 Skype Crashes.. FIX IT! your going to lose memebrs if you dont
So although zepzeppelin (great name) is perhaps a little angrier then he should be, he is 100% right it's a pretty ridiculous problem. It is apparently sound card related (I have a Asus Xonar DX). I managed to fix the problem by simply setting skype to run as administrator but then it won't start on windows startup regardless of whether the box is ticked in the settings so still pretty irritating. I had no problems on windows 7 so this is specific to windows 8 and considering Microsoft owns Skype it would be nice to see this issue fixed....
