Skype credit has disappeared

Can't seem to get a hold of any Skype customer service rep (do they event exist?) so figured I'd try on here. Recently purchased a fair amount of credit for my Skype account, but then my account was disabled (security risk, or something to that effect). Once I went through the reactivation process and got my account back up and running - my credit had disappeared.
A) How do I get a refund? or B) How do I get that credit back?
Thanks for your help.

  • Re: Where Has My Skype Credit Gone?

Where did you find that option? I just logged on here on my computer and can't find where to reactivate, only how to buy it. Please help! I had about 10 usd on here.  And as you ask later on, WHY did Skype take this away? I got an email saying that the automatic payment was cancelled which is fine, but don't take my money please.

The credit is visible on the web, but there is no"Reactivate Button" anywhere.can you try signing out then sign in again (not simply closing Skype then running it again)?  this may help update your account information.  Also double check if you have the correct account logged in (if you have more than one account). Yet, if still needed,  you may need to contact customer service for more help. • Skype Credit Dropping Fast!

    Hi All,
I've made a dozen or so calls to a South African landline just lately. The PAYG call cost from the UK is 2.3p/min (inc VAT), with no connection charge. I reckon I've made roughly £5 of calls but my Skype credit has dropped my much more than this.
Is it possible to get a breakdown of all the debits to my Skype credit? I've searched the website but all I can get is the overall balance.
    Thanks
    Steve

    Hello Steve,
The cost of calls to South Africa from anywhere (including from within South Africa) is as follows:
There is a connection fee for all PAYG calls worldwide.  There is no sales tax (VAT) payable as you have already paid tax on your Skype Credit purchase.
You can see a breakdown of your call costs at your Account Page.
If you let me know where you saw the prices you quote I'll see if we need to amend/clarify the text.
    Thank you.

I was checking my skype account on my windows laptop. The skype credit I had was $14.xx. I had a contact request and I was checking it. Suddenly I see skype credit has been reduced to $8.69. Why has my skype credit reduced without making any charges? I fail to understand this.
Thanks in advance for the support.

  • Skype credit reactivated but still disappeared

I recently reactivated my 10 euro skype credit. Today (after a skype call) I got a series of messages about 'suspicious activity' and my account was suspended. It took some link clicking and password resetting etc to get my account released. However, I just noticed that I only have 0.30 euro left??? What is going on here and what can I do about it? Thank you veyr much

Hi there! I am having trouble with a restricted/hacked account and really would like some help. I noticed that you were able to help others with my issue- I have been in contact with skype customer service reps over and over again both over email and chat since early june after I found that my account has been restricted and I've gotten the same copy and pasted reply, and no one seems to be able to help me. The stock email I keep getting claims that I've "violated" the terms of service but I have emailed and asked how I have done that and alerted the reps that I suspect my account was hacked and have not received any responses or answers. Please help! I am at wits end here! my original post is here: http://community.skype.com/t5/Security-Privacy-Trust-and/account-restricted-no-help-from-Skype-staff/m-p/4016555#M46780

  • Please fix Skype Credit page - it does NOT load pr...

I cannot get the Skype Credit page to load on many of my personal computers (4 to be exact) and also seen this problem on some friends' computers too. I get a page with a "Loading" text and a blue dot above it. That is all.
    What I've tried:
    - Latest browsers (Chromium, Firefox, Opera)
    - Latest Adobe Flash version
    - older browsers (FF 3.6, FF 24, Opera 10/11, and IE
The results are consistent across these and the Skype Credit page simply refuses to load/display. All of my personal computers are virus and malware free. In fact, I recently did a fresh Windows 7 install on one of them, and tested the Skype Credit page right after that only to find it didn't work.
Is there some special requirement for that page? Java? Security settings?
Honestly, this is very frustrating! I have never had such problems with any other website before. And if a certain website didn't display properly for me in one browser, I never had problems getting it to work in a different browser.
I should note that *most* other Skype pages work (though not all of them). In any case, I really can't be bothered to go checking each one for you all. All I want to do is Log In so I can Buy some stupid Skype Credit.
Please give me some suggestions on what to do or how to go about this.

Hi, sorry it took me so long to reply. I finally had some time to troubleshoot the issue, and fortunately I found what was wrong .
But first, I must say that I am deeply ashamed, and I apologize to for coming here and blaming Skype, because it turns out the fault is completely mine. The problem was that a while back, a tech buddy of mine sent me his Windows "hosts" files (the hosts file allows a simple way to block unwanted and dangerous websites, as well as advertisements from loading on your computer). Most of the time, I do pay attention when I compile my hosts file, but this time I assumed my buddy's list of blocked websites was reasonable.
Turns out, he had the following entries in there (without the quotation marks):
    "skypeassets.com"
    "secure.skypeassets.com"
That means, any web page that needed to access these was blocked from loading. As a result, this is what broke the Skype Credit page.
I attached a screenshot to show what the Buy Skype Credit page looks like when it is blocked, so that way, if anyone has this issue and wonders why it's not working, check your hosts file (found in "C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\etc").
The Buy Skype Credit page now seems to work fine in all of my browsers (Firefox 32, Firefox 24, Opera 12/11/10, and IE8 ). I also tested IE6 just for giggles, but it gives a "Page Cannot be Displayed" error. This is very common with IE6, though. I'm just stating this in case anyone is still running that dinosaur browser (please don't, it's not safe or compatible).
Thanks, and I hope this was somewhat helpful .

  • Credit has not been posted to my account

    Hi,
I purchaced $10 in Skype credit on my computer before leaving on a business trip to China where i knew i was going to need to use skype to call landlines in the US. Everything looked good and I was pretty confident upon leaving that everything was in order.
Now that I am here, it doesn't really appear that the credit has posted to my account. As soon as I logged on, i was forced to have my previous skype info migrated to microsoft based login info etc and I cannot figure out how to use this credit to call landlines as needed. Also, I really need to be able to use skpe through my iphone for this and I have seen a message where I need to sync something with itunes. The computer that is synced to my phone resides in the US so if it needs to be hooked to the computer physically that is going to be impossible. I've looked at purchacing more credit through the phone but am routed to Skypes site in China.
Please tell me that there is someway that I can make this work.
    Thanks

  • Skype Credit Bought on my Account - Need Refund

£80 of Skype credit was bought on my account.
I was locked out of my account as a result.
How can I claim a refund?

Hi, goateez, and welcome to the Community,
Here is a link to the instruction on how to contact Skype Customer Service via their secure portal: Contact Customer Service   and here is a link to the FAQ which explains how to start an instant message chat session with a customer service agent:  https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA10656/what-is-live-chat-support
This FAQ article provides information Skype will need:
    https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA10384/why-has-my-credit-debit-card-been-charged-by-skype-when-i-h...
If you experience difficulty reaching Skype Customer Service, try again using a different web browser and choosing a different path through the various drop-down menu options presented. Also, look to approve a pop-up dialogue box which would connect you to start an instant message chat with a customer service agent. If you have pop-ups blocked in your browser settings, this will also impede reaching an agent.
Skype is aware of problems with the website when contacting their customer service unit.  Skype is working on resolving the issue; more people seem to be getting through and more quickly than in previous weeks since the issue appeared in June 2014.
The goal is to reach a customer service agent in order to start an instant message chat session with an agent, so several attempts and taking different paths through the various drop-down menu choices presented seems to be working.
    Regards,
    Elaine
