Skype doesn't detect webcam windows 8

Hello,
I recently bought an Asus S200-CT182H working with windows 8.
Skype was already installed on windows 8. I just had to log in.
I have no problems to receive the video from my contacts when I call them, but impossible to put my webcam.
When I go on "Camera" on windows 8, it works perfectly.
I also have to mention that when I try to put the webcam on skype, no other application is using the webcam.
Please I am waiting for a solution, this is very annoying.
Thanks in advance,
Clara.

Which version of Skype do you use?
Run Skype >> WinKey + C >> Settings >> About.
Please update to Version 1.8.0.111
Press WinKey + R to open the Run window
WinKey (the button is located between the left Ctrl and Alt with the Windows logo)
type: ms-windows-store: and press Enter
Press WinKey + C >> Settings >> App Updates >> Click Check for Updates.
Install / Update  Skype.

  • Skype doesn't detect webcam on new windows 8 lapto...

I have a new laptop pre-shipped with windows 8. I installed skype via the skype download page, and after the install I see that it does not detect my webcam.
I go to Tools->Options and skype doesn't detect that any webcam exists on the system.
I've changed the windows 8 webcam privacy settings to allow skype to use my webcam, though I'm not clear if this affects the normal old desktop skype or that new metro skype (I'm not even quite clear if those are two separate applications, that whole metro thing is still just weird and unuseable to me, not sure why I'd ever want skype to take over the whole desktop as it does if you go into it from the metro interface).
There are tons of results for webcams not woring in skype, but after going through many of them they don't seem to cover this case of "skype just doesn't detect the webcam in windows 8".

  • Skype doesn't detect the webcam

I know this problem has been posted out many times, but unfortunately after trying each solution, it's resolves nothing on my problem.
I'm using ASUS X44C series, skype doesn't detect the webcam itself. And using Windows 7 64bit.
I've been trying to reinstal the lifeframe for webcam. Doesn't work
Tried to using many cam. doesn't work
Tried to making default the windows itself. Doesn't work
Reinstall and update skype. Still doesn't work
I even calling an IT to fix this, but he still unable to find the problems.
    Any ideas?

  • My Mac doesn't detect my windows DVD for bootcamp, help?

hi , i just grab my Windows 7 DVD for installing windows on Mac using bootcamp , but my mac doesn't detect my windows installation disc in boot menu... how to resolve?

You're not alone - I'm installed Windows (8 Pro 64-bit) on a MacBook Air Mid 2013 yesterday from the OEM/system builder media, and Boot Camp Assistant 5.0.4 didn't recognize the DVD. It asked for an .iso disk image instead, and I created one in a UNIX geek way**, but if you're an average mac user, you'll want to create one using the Disk Utility:
    1) Open the Disk Utility. This is in the Utilities folder (go to a finder window and type command-shift-u)
    2) Click on your DVD to select it.
    3) In the File menu, select New -> Disk Image from "HRM_CCSA_X64FRE_EN-US_DV5"… (or your Windows disk title)
    4) In the Save sheet, select Image Format: DVD/CD master. The Disk Utility saves this with the file extension/type .cdr, but this is the same file format as .iso. When the Disk Utility has finished, find the file you save and change the file extension to .iso.
    5) Launch Boot Camp Assistant and select the .iso file as the source of your Windows installation.
Since I have a MacBook Air, the windows source was copied by the Boot Camp Assistant to a USB flash drive. MacOS X restarted and Windows was installed automatically, but the Boot Camp driver installer wasn't automatically launched at the end of the Windows install. I opened the flash drive's BootCamp folder and double clicked setup.exe.
Voila! The best trackpad anywhere! Network! Sound! Brightness control from the keyboard! The best Windows 8 computer!
** In Terminal: diskutil list; diskutil unmount /Volumes/HRM_CCSA_X64FRE_EN-US_DV5; sudo dd if=/dev/disk2 of=win8pro.iso. Use the output of 'diskutil list' to match your Windows 8 CD/DVD to a disk# for the 'dd' command. Be very careful.

  • IPod/iPhone doesn't detect on Windows 8, but it charges?

    Currently,
I'm on Windows 8 Developer preview, everything works fine except iTunes.
I have a iPhone 4/iPod Touch 3G that can charge when plugged into a USB port, but it won't be dected or recognize by iTunes.
My old tiny slim iPod( two years of age) works on iTunes though? How weird.
Any help would be appreciated. I just want to know what I need to do to make my iDevices be recognize on Windows 8.
I tested it and it works fine on Windows 7. The problem isn't the cord or the device itself, probably the OS, but I want to keep my computer on Windows 8.

Found out a way to detect and sync iOS device on Windows 8. (After much research!)
    http://pebam.info/post/11515780695/how-to-detect-your-ios-device-on-windows-8
The only problem with that is you've to perform this every time you connect your device with the PC. It lets you sync anyway!

  • Startup Disk doesn't detect my windows partition

I installed Leopard and used bootcamp to install windows vista ultimate (32-bit). All was working well, switching from os x to vist using the startup disk. I then installed MacFUSE and ntfs-3g. Everything was working fine.
I then decided to get rid of MacFUSE and ntfs-3g. After doing so I could not see my windows partition on finder and Disk Utility was unable to unmount the drive. I tried booting using the Leopard install disk and used that start up to boot into Windows and that worked without any problems.
So I went back to OS X and reinstalled MacFUSE and ntfs-3g. I can access my windows partition again but it does not appear on Startup Disk. I used Disk Utility to verify the partition and this is what I get:
    Verifying volume “disk0s3”
** No NTFS file system checks have been implemented yet.
** Reporting that the volume is fine without checking anything.
    Verify and Repair volume “disk0s3”
** /usr/local/bin/ntfsfix has been disabled because of volume corruption issues.
** If you still want to try fixing your volume, use /usr/local/bin/ntfsfix from the command line...
Error: Filesystem verify or repair failed.
    Any ideas?

Disk Utility wasn't designed or tested to know enough to repair NTFS, even with NTFS-3g and MacFuse, but you might want to track down the web page and feedback.
I saw today that Paragon has a program to read/write to NTFS. If you want something reliable and that has support, check it out.

  • Skype can't detect any webcam

Hi, Since I updated the newer version of skype 6.11, my video does not work anymore. When I go under options, I get the message, "skype can't detect any webcam". I have a built-in camera in my laptop using windows 7. I know my camera works, but I don't know how to make skype detect my built-in camera. So far, I can call people, I see and hear them and they can hear me, but they can't see me since I don't even have the options to put on my camera anymore. Please, can anyone help me with this issue? I have already uninstalled and reinstalled skype, but it does not work. Thank you

  • Windows 7 doesn't detect my Canon MX850

    Hi all,
I have a Canon MX850 printer connected to the network. Unlike other reports in this forum, Windows 7 doesn't detect my printer at all.
I can ping the printer and access it's network configuration page so network connectivit is not the issue (I even disabled the windows firewall, just in case).
Any clues where to go next?
    Thanks,
    S.

    Hi,
Can the printer work fine on other machine on the network?
At this stage, you can refer to the following steps for a test.
    1. Plug the printer to the Windows 7 machine directly and install the proper driver. For your reference, I have enclosed the latest driver for Windows 7 below:
    Canon MX850 driver
Please Note: Microsoft provides third-party contact information to help you find technical support. This contact information may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this third-party contact information.
Is the printer working fine on the Windows 7 machine? If not, please let me know. Otherwise, you can put the printer back and connect it via network again.
    2. If the printer still cannot be detected via network, I suggest you remove the original printer on the computer and recreate a new network printer icon.

  • HT3986 My Windows 7 doesn't detect my wifi connection, how do I fix this?

I just recently installed Windows 7 Home Premium into my Macbook white late 2009 edition and my wifi connection cannot be detected by windows but when I plug in the ethernet cable from our broadband router, the internet works. What do I do? Please help me.

Did you see a thread pretty much same duplicate as your question? also using Airport.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3808608?tstart=0
I don't have wireless but in Vista there was a wireless configuration wizard.
And yes set up wired first. Install Apple driver, and based on dozens of identical threads, probably update the driver - via Device Manager, find what device and manually install what you need.

  • Satellite A210 (PSAEG) - Microphone doesn't work on Windows 7 64bit

Hello, the micro doesn't work under windows 7 64 bit, the driver I'm using is Windows Vsta 64 bit. The volume is set up maximun and so is the amplification but no way to make it work with skype or toshiba camera assistant software.
    Can anyone help me?
    thank you

    Hi Largo09,
Usually you have to install the webcam and sound driver to get the microphone working. The microphone is a part of webcam
As you wrote, Satellite A210 is not Windows 7 64bit supported so the only option you have are Vista 64bit drivers
In my opinion you should check if Microphone is enabled in Windows sound settings. There you can also enable Microphone boost, that can increase the microphone volume.

  • My Computer Doesn't Detect My Camera

My computer doesn't detect my camera! Can someone help? (If you haven't noticed, I created this account just to ask this question! Help is greatly appreciated!)
I recently had to do a system restore on my computer. After I restored, I tried to upload photos from my Powershot A4000 IS camera to my computer (I had done it before successfully) only to find that the Autoplay window didn't pop up (like it usually did) and the Hardware Fail sound played. I then tried to start my CameraWindow software manually, but it said my camera wasn't connected. I have several Usb ports on my computer, and I tried all of them. Nothing happened! I'm sure that I'm not missing any essential Canon software and my camera isn't damaged; I barely use it, and the Powershot A4000 support page claimed that I didn't need any extra drivers for my edition of Windows! Help!
P.S. My OS is Windows Vista SP2.

    Stupid_Computer,
There are some additional questions I would like to ask that will help me determine what is wrong.
      1.  Have you tried connecting your camera to a different computer?
      2.  Do other computers fail to recognize the camera?
      3.  Do you have any other devices connected to the computer, like a printer, scanner, webcam, external hard drive, etc?
If this is a time sensitive-matter, additional support options are available at Contact Us.

  • Ipod not being detected by Windows

Hey! I've asked this question before, but no one has given me anything yet. Not being selfish or anything. But when I put in my ipod my computer tells me:
One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it.
For that, Itunes doesn't detect it either. Can't put songs on when that happens and it leads to an very distressed kid. Can someone help me and others who have this problem?

but then I'll have to get all the song from CD's again.
If they are all in your iTunes library and you sync your iPod, when you get a new iPod, you just need to sync it to the library. If you've been manually managing your iPod's content, and the songs are not stored on your computer, well, you were taking a chance that the iPod would break or get lost.

  • Optical drive (CD/DVD burner) not detected by Windows - dv9812us

I've been dealing with the same or at least a similar situation for the past week.
I've got an HP dv9812us running Vista home premium SP 2.  The drive is detected by the BIOS because it attempts to boot from the drive, the light blinks, and you can open the drive via the button.  Once Windows starts booting, though, it quits working entirely.  It doesn't show up in the Computer folder and it doesn't show up in the Device Manager.
    So far, I have tried:
    1) Following the suggestions listed by HP here:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00678214&tmp_track_link=ot_faqs/top_issues/en_...
     - similar to the link given previously, only specific to a notebook rather than a PC
     - includes suggestions for running MS FixIt for drive limits
     - checking for the presence of the drive in Device Manager
     - uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers in Device Manager (which I can't do because the device isn't listed in the Device Manager)
     - and downloading and installing the latest firmware and software for the drive (also can't do because Microsoft's software doesn't detect the drive).
    2)  Following the suggestions listed here by Apple because this problem is apparently common in conjunction with the installation of iTunes with Vista: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2308
     - repeats suggestion for download/reinstall for firmware/drivers for optical drive
     - also:  checking C:\Windows\System32\drivers folder for "afs.sys" or "afs2k.sys" files which may interfere with GEAR drivers for iTunes
     - manually removing the GEAR drivers from your computer and registry and then reinstalling them.
    3)  Running the HP and Windows Update programs to make sure all of my software and firmware is up to date.
    4)  Uninstalling iTunes and downloading and reinstalling iTunes.
    5)  Physically removing and reinstalling the optical drive without powering up
    6)  Physically removing the drive, booting up, shutting down, reinstalling the drive, and booting up again.
    7)  Hard reset suggested by CherylG
    8)  Removing the optical drive from my roommate's Pavilion, exchanging the mounting bracket and bezel from mine, installing the known-good drive into my computer, and booting (everything was exactly the same as with my normal drive...worked in BIOS, quit working as soon as Windows began booting up)
    9)  Running sfc /scannow and found no corrupt files
    10)  Placing hammer where it can be seen by my laptop as sarcastically suggested by my friend Jason.
None of these have worked and I can't find any other suggestions listed anywhere.  I'm keen on the iTunes issue simply because I hadn't really used the optical drive since I'd installed the newest version of iTunes and it had worked prior to that.  Is there a way for me to find the drivers for the optical drive manually?  Microsoft wants to find them itself, but since Windows doesn't detect the drive, all it does it tell me that Windows didn't detect the drive.

Hi, guys, I have had the exact same problem since the summer of 2010. Here's what I was able to find out.
Deleting upper/lower filters, running all those Fix Ya programs and other Microsoft crap is useless. This problem is most certainly has nothing to do with registry of any software on your computer. I took my HP 9620us to a couple of repair places and, they tried a lot of things and it appears that the root of this problem is a faulty motherboard connection. Of course, it costs about 400 bucks to fix it so I'm not sure I want to pay this kind of money.
Anyway, if somebody was able to fix it PLEASE post here to let us know. Again I am 99 per cent sure it's some piece of hardware in the motherboard.
