Skype doesnt show profile picture

Skype for Android doesn't update the profile picture of my contacts and not sync the status update either.
I want to see the profile picture and status updates of my friends.

I have same problem and nobody answer me since.

Hi, disouza. Are you still encountering the same issue with your Facebook app? If so, have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling it? Does it happen regardless of the internet connection you're using? Make sure that your connection is stable by accessing several websites via the IE app on your phone or using other web-based apps. You can also try visiting your Facebook account via your phone's browser to see if the profile picture and photos are working fine.
BTW, this issue started after installing the official Lumia Cyan to your phone, is that right? Did you also update your system apps? To check for pending updates, go to Store> ...> downloads.
In case you are no longer having the said issue, would you mind sharing how you fixed it for the benefit of other users who may experience the same?

My macbook, from 2009, doesnt show any picture in a piece of his screen

My macbook is from 2009 and now a piece from his screen doesnt show any pictures anymore. I went to a shop from Apple and they told me that its a contact problem and to solve this it will cost about U$700, thats almost the price from a new mac! Does that mean that I have to buy a new Mac every 4 years?
Has someone else the same problem?
How you solved this?

The quote for 700 is outrageous. It could be as simple as a loose connection or something not terribly expensive as a new screen. Did they tell you exactly what was to replaced for that 700 dollar diagnosis? Unfortunately, Apple seems to charge you 50 dollars for a screw, no wonder they are doing so well these days. Your Macbook uses a screen made by a manufacturer who makes the same screens for Laptops made by other manufactures who make "PC" laptops. Depending on screen size,you could purchase the screen on Ebay for about 100 dollars. Thats what I did with my MacBook which had a 13.3 inch LG Philips LP133WX1 (TL)(A1) LCD screen. I put it in myself, which is relatively easy. The hard part would be to replace the CCFL bulb inside the LCD if that went, now thats a bit trickier, but that isnt the case here, you are replacing the whole screen. I would call around, but I can almost guarantee you that it would cost you less than 200 dollars total for the screen and a local computer store to install that screen. Call the local shop that specializes in mac first, then call a local PC shop for a second quote to have some leverage. Some places seems to charge double or triple if it has a Apple logo on it.

What's This Email Under My Name/Profile Picture?

About 2 weeks ago I tried to IM someone using Skype. I typed in their email address and tried to IM them and from what I can remember I don't think it worked so I eventually gave up.
Now the persons email shows up on my Skype home screen, under my Skype name and profile picture. Here is a screenshot:
I checked my account settings (that's not the email listed on my account), Skype settings, etc. but I couldn't find that email or settings with that email listed anywhere.
Can anyone tell me why this email is under my name and how I get rid of it?

Obviously, by mistake you have entered this email address as your mood status update (Tell your friends what you're up to). Most likely, you have subsequently deleted this mood status update, as it is no longer shown under your name in the upper left corner of the Skype window.
You can delete this status update from your Home page by deleting the keyval.db file.

However, this update might for some time be still shown on your contact's Skype Home page.

Profile pictures gone suddenly

So I'm using skype version 7.2.0.103.
I just updated it but in the previous version, my contact display pics have disappeared at random. They've worked earlier.
I have resetted my skype settings (even if i already had to do it a week ago, Annoying!) and it did NOT help.

reinstalled skype completely
None of this has worked.
You'd probably tell me to install an older version, I might get around it....but so far, I'm really tired of constant reinstalling and resetting.
I'm running windows 7, 32 bit with sp1 installed.

In Skype open View menu and make sure that the "Compact Sidebar View" option is not selected.

Blurry Skype Profile Picture

I've yet to see any legitimate fixes for this. With this new client I'm now forced to use, I seem to be expericing this bug/issue. When I encountered this in the past, I just downgraded a version and waited until a newer version came out that I didn't experience this issue with.
Now that Skype is forcing people to use this one specific version (and future newer ones), I'm at a loss that this bug is still not properly fixed.
Also any responses about the image resolution, image quality, image file extention - no. I've always had a HQ Skype profile image, I'm not trying to upload a picture from a potato that's 60x60. It's not a stretching issue, it's not a resolution issue, it's a Skype issue. I've never had this problem before and I've always had perfectly HQ images as my profile picture, when I rarely did have these issues, it was the versions fault after I upgraded - not mine. Upgrading past that version or below that version gave me crystal clear profile pictures again and I never changed what I was doing or how I got them to be HQ.
Now that I'm being forced to use this new version, I'd like to know if there are any fixes for this issue or are people who also have this issue (and have had it for awhile now - a simple google search will show you how far back this issue has occured) have to endure this until a new version comes out that hopefully does not carry on with the said bug?
I've tried uploading the image at full resolution, smaller resolution, and from my phone. Since I'm no longer able to use portable Skype apps that are lower than the newest version, I'm unable to utilize that fix. I saw someone say uploading it from an iPhone works - I do not have an iPhone. There was another solution about not using Windows 8 Desktop version - I use Windows 7 therefore I am unable to utilize that fix either.
Has anyone found a work around for this? A fix? Anything?

Okay, this is just pure annoying. I have a professional group on Skype, because most are used to Skype over Google Hangouts. I've had this group for a very long time. Over the years, we've upgraded the logo, and each time, we've made a Group Profile logo in Adobe Illustrator, as a high DPI Vector image.
Well, for the past like year, our logo, no matter what resolution it's in (96X96), (480X480), hell the full on 1920X1920, and all variants I can think of between still leaves the image blurry. I've even created a pure black and white version of the logo, to see if color support was the cause. It's still blurry. I've uploaded from one of our Mac's (OSX 10.7), Windows 7 Pro, Windows 8.1 Pro, Windows XP Pro, Android (Moto X Gen 1), iPHone 6 Plus (latest OS), and it's STILL BLURRY.
This is a seriously high quality logo, yet Skype makes it garbage for all of the professionals in my Group to see. No matter how I crop it, change it, upload it and from where, it's still frigging Blurry.
So as long as I use Skype, my brand will always look like retro-grade Windows 98 First Edition trash. Thank you Microsoft for never fixing this. I really appreciate the aggravation.
I've attached a sample logo (that isn't of my brand, or of my brands purpose). This sample is JPG that I just tried, as I was thinking maybe changing the image to something completely pointless may stop it from being blurry. It's still blurry. It's not any particular resolution, it's just a simple image to push home the point. It looks higher quality when full size, but in Skype, it looks like this:

Skype profile pictures.

Whenever my friends update their profile pictures they do not appear to update for me. It is rather aggravating that I can't see them when they ask me to look.

With the latest Skype 7.0 version, profile pictures will not be displayed if the colour depth of the monitor screen is set to less than 32-bit.

Please, run the DirectX diagnostics tool (32-bit option).
Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post.

I can no longer receive my email through firefox. Also my facebook account doesn't show some of the profile pictures show a different person on someone's name. It appears this is a firefox issues as when I go to explorer it is not a problem at all.

It seems that through firefox I cannot receive my emails through charter.net and have always been able to before. The LCD Display connector has partially come loose from the logic board connector, and simply needs to be pressed back down into place. Or the front screen assembly is now faulty, and needs to be replaced again.

I am wondering how I change the little circle picture that would show up on the device that I airdrop to. It's the one that's has your name under it when someone want to airdrop something to you. I guess it's like my profile picture.

Opening a pictures app on the computer is normal if you have your computers settings set to open Pictures when a camera is attached. For the purpose of transferring photos from the iPhone to the computer your computer will recognize an iPhone as a camera.
Did you quick the pictures application an manually start iTunes 11.1 or later? Use the view menu in iTunes to .view Sidebar. Does the iPhone appear in the Sidebar?

Facebook profile pictures not showing up in my Contacts

For some reason only two or three of my contacts show their facebook profile pictures, even though probably 75% of my contacts have facebook photos... why would the pics only show for a few contacts? And how do I fix it? I've checked FB settings and phone settings, but I must be missing something!

You can easily delete your Facebook account from the #Z10, reboot and set it up yet again and allow those pictures to sync.
