Skype doesnt work

Ok, im still new to Mac's, and I cant figure out why I cant get Skype to download on my Macbook Pro. I go to te Skype website, click on the download option for Mac OS and it goes to another screen saying "download should begin shortly, if not click to restart download." Only thing that happens is the page keeps saying loading on the address bar and then it will go to a black page and then nothing. Nothing happens after that. Is there something I need to change to download this? Please someone help. Thanks in advance.

That's a well known issue and generally the result of local Chinese telecom call interruption.

Straming video doesnt work.

Streaming video doesnt work. Video in Skype is OK. Play locally stored video OK in MediaPlayer as well as iTunes. Downloaded Adobe Flash and Shockwave. Still no steraming after restart of PC.
Firefox is upgraded.

Can you please cross check the following :
1. The rtmp URL is edited accordingly to point to the correct FMS server instead of localhost etc.
2. The above code snippet should be bundled as an AIR app and published for iOS.
If you are using HTTP instead of RTMP, you need to follow HLS streaming for iOS which makes use of the HTML5 video tags instead of any flash/AIR based applications. Please let us know if you are looking for this.

Hello,
The problem with my skype is that although I connect my headphones to the computer, the sound does not come through the headphones. The sound comes via the laptop speakers as if I am using the skype without any headphones. It becomes very inconvenient as everyone around me can then listen to my conversation. The headphones work fine with all other applications on my laptop like youtube, itunes or anything that I play on the laptop. It just doesnt work with skype. I uninstalled and installed skype again still the same things happen. Please help me out with this problem.

Try to reset all Skype settings. Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata% and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old. Next go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %temp%\skype and then press Enter or click the OK button. Delete the DbTemp folder. Restart Skype. N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.

I bought an unlimited Europe subscription and I can see it on my skype account but when I try to call somwhere it doesnt work. Early I was using skype credits and everything worked properly.

Recently bought a macbook air and the camera doesnt work

Its super frustrating.
It did work once with skype, but after i tried using photobooth it stopped working completely and now it doesnt work on skype, googlehangouts and neither, of course, on photobooth. The computer is quite new and i attempted using the camera only a few times.
Any idea on what this might be?
Maybe something with updates?

SMS DOESNT WORK

My soul reason for making a skype account was to send txs and run my business .
It has proven a complete waste of time and money . I have 2 skype accounts for 2 different businesses . I have credit on both and I cant send TXs and cant get my money back . Where is skype help when we need it . I am considering closing both accounts . But It will mean losing the credit I put on the accounts and having to find another company I can send txs with. NOT HAPPY SKYPE

The new skype, under microsoft's stewardship, is an absolute disaster, faulty redesign of something that was working just fine. SMS doesnt work, it is not possible to delete contacts, information about cost call is absent during making a phone call, the editing of contacts is horrendously unfriendly.
In short, I am looking for alternatives, I am sick and tired of this new skype, it reflects a very bad attitude from the new owner. Please send suggestions of alternatives to skype.

Route calculation doesnt work in china after ios5?

Hi all
After updating to 5.0 my iphone does not calculate any route in china.
Also to already (known as working) places it says "no route found to this location"
Called my wife (ios4.xx) and she was able to calculate. Today she made the update. Same error as mine :-(
Routes outside china (e.g berlin to paris) are no problem. Even with vpn to europe it doesnt work!
Thats a big mess for us because its essential to know where to go...

MSI GF4 Ti-4200 doesnt work with WindowsXP

I can't get the MSI display tools to work - it crashes,
the vbios.dll doesnt load, it also crashes.
the tv in doesnt work ,it crashes
the tv out doesnt work ,it crashes.
all the supplied software also crashes "application has encountered an error and cannot continue. sorry for any inconvenience"
the intervideo software (windvr, wincoder, winproducer) and MSI PVI software all crashes as well.
what's the deal with this stuff? ?(

I'm sorry gfilitti if I don't have my system listed, but I thought my question was pretty simple...
Has ANYONE been able to make the InterVideo WinProducer 2 software, that comes with the retail version of the MSI G4Ti4200-VTD64 card, work successfully under the Windows XP Home or Pro operating system?
If the answer is YES, then I will begin investigating why my system can't.
If the answer is NO, then I only ask for other people's recommendations of what software WILL work in place of that. I NEED those functions to work. That's why I paid extra for the VIVO.
All we've heard so far in this thread are NO votes. I would like to see just how widespread this is. If I can find ONE person who claims it works fine on his/her computer under Windows XP, then my NEXT question would be if they had to do anything different to make it run, or was it just a straight install? Did they add the program patch available from the MSI website? See where I'm going with this?

BTW, I would think when investigating a program's FLAT refusal to run, that the MOST important things aren't listed in these signature files. It has to do with what ELSE is running at the same time. Which services are running and which are NOT? What memory resident programs are loaded at boot-up? Any service packs installed? How about any security patches from Microsoft? Which anti-virus software (if any)? Which DirectX version? Personal firewall? Etc., etc.
Granted, the hardware DOES have a factor, but I feel all of these are MORE important factors than the speed or brand of a persons hardware. I look at the signitures more as bragging rights than anything else.
Now, this is just my opinion and may not reflect the feelings of the more sane people around me.

IPhone 4 Microphone not not working on voice calls but voice memos, viber, skype & facetime work just fine!! Any suggestions?

I have encountered the following problem which I think a lot of other fellow iPhone users are also encountering however mine seems to be fairly pecuilar.
Here's the issue;
When making or receiving voice calls via my network operator's service, no one can hear me, i.e my audio input. I can hear the person on the other end of the phone fine but they can't hear me whatsoever.
However when I use the likes of viber, skype and facetime, my audio input is perferctly fine and the person on the other end of can hear me.
Note both viber and skype calls work just fine and 2 way communication is audbile regardless if I have a 3G or Wifi connection. Plus I have full singal bar strength when near a mobile tower so that elimantes antenna issues.
Also have taken alternative turns to cover both the top mic and the bottom mic during a viber or skype call and my audio input can still be heard.
I've done a reset, a hard reset of the phone and a reset of the network settings, still to no avail.
Have updated iOS to the latest version 5.1.1
Any suggestions would be much appreciated?

I have the exact same problem, I have already restored the phone and it didn't work. The microphone works with facetime, skype and the voice memos. What just doesn't make sense is that when I use my earphone's microphone when calling, it doesn't work either. If it was a hardware problem the earphone's microphone would have worked I suppose.
This is the second iPhone 4 I have. The first one shut off after 9 months so I got a replacement phone. The replacement phone lasted 10 months when the microphone stopped working. I went to the apple store and they just couldn't give me a solution. They understood my situation and told me that it was very weird but all they could offer me was that I had to pay for a replacement. This is absolutely unjust, why do we costumers have to pay for the companies mistakes.

If you have records that show that you've taken your MacBook Pro in for a year to fix the machine, I would escalate the problem to Apple Customer Relations - unfortunately I don't have a number for Spain.
It would only seem logical to me that if you've been trying to have the machine repaired during the time that the 'recall' was in effect that you should be eligible for a new logic board. But only customer relations will be able to make that call.
Good luck - take the issue as high up the food chain as you can and see what happens.
