Skype drops calls

So on my kindle fire my skype keeps dropping calls or kicks me out of groups call and im not sure why it works fine on my phone and on my computer but not on there, and my tablet is 2 years old. so help please?

Just to avoid any confusion here: Skype has the 7.x version number on Skype for Windows desktop and Mac, but these are completely different platforms with different software. So there's nothing like a "quick port of the software to TV".
The TV manufacturer decide which Skype software they support and maintain on their TV models. Skype doesn't have any influence on updating the Skype app on older TVs. So please reach out to Samsung if you want this to change.

  • SKype Drops Calls on some SmartTV's

    I believe it's a caching issue, Everytime, guarantee, Skyp will drop a video call anywhere from 25min to 35min.  I have a Samsung SmartTV (model UN50H5500).  Skyp comes pre-installed, and can update.  But the Version still shows 3.0.  This could be that Skype hasn't upgraded for smartTVs in sometime?  Can anyone point me somewhere where I can Upgrade this another way (forced to do that only thru App Store).  Or would be willing to try an older version, if that works better?

  • Skype drops calls to land lines and mobiles

    I have enough credit but cannot call landlines or mobiles - 
    it does not dial but simply stops with "Call Failed" before getting through
    Even if I cann my own mobile or landline - so I know they ARE valid numbers
    The problem seems to have been introduced with the new version 7.4.0.102
    Any ideas please?

    Your account logs show that there are connection issues and this is why calls are dropped. Please make sure you have the latest Skype and if possible try to make a call with different connection. For example if you are using public WiFi or 3G connection then try to use cable connection.

  • Error Report - Skype is dropping calls

    I've been having this problem since Microsoft took over the company.  I use the iPhone version of Skype and have been paying for an unlimited membership for over a year now.
    I will call someone, using my paid Skype- landline service, the phone will ring until they answer.  Then as soon as they answer the phone and say "Hello", Skype drops the call.  The ways I've gotten Skype to successfully connect to a number and not drop the call is to call another person and hope it doesn't discconect then call the first person back.  I've also tried things like turning wifi on and off, or rebooting the phone.
    Anyway, I'm extremely pissed off, and having to post this on some public forum is an insult, after paying you money, I want a phone # to complain to, or an email address at least.
    This whole forum crap is a typical microsoft way to try to cut costs and dodge the bullet of having to provide actual customer service for their products. 
    I couldn't just easily find a way to file a text based error report. I had to fumble around your site for 15 minutes then finally try google. Then I had to create some forum account and it was a mess.. I hate your site for that reason.  If you want to piss  people off and make them leave your service, you're making me want to.
    People don't want to have to learn about how to use your stupid forum site before they can tell you about a broken program.  this is why your program won't improve as quickly as it could.  Overall your strategy fails and Microsoft loses again.. You keep buying companies and not improving them as much as the competition.

    Could we have some help. One of your moderator told me to submit a log file. But I couldnt find the log file at the location as said. Last night i just found it but in totally different loaction and here it is uploaded. Could you please tell us the possible reason of such a great problem. You should be aware that we are loosing money. If you really care for the services you should refund the amount for which i have not been able to make the calls. Please look into the matter seriously.

  • Skype number in China dropping calls like no one's...

    Anyone else having the same problem?  I've used a Skype number in China for years, while's it's never been perfect it has been functional until the last 4 days. I drop calls using the Skype number ever 3-4 minutes. China-to-China calls not using Skype are fine, so I am assuming Skype and China are struggling to work together. Advice?

    Sorry to hear about these problems. When these calls are dropping are you using Skype in a location with a stable internet connection? i.e. can you place Skype-to-Skype calls from that location that are not dropping?

    Please,  run the DirectX diagnostics tool. Go to Windows Start  and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post. Be aware that you will have to zip this file before attaching it here.

  • Only my skype dropping constantly in group call

    Hello I have actually been experiencing this problem for a while now, but decided it wasnt too big of a problem. It eventually became really irritating for me, because every time my skype dropped I would have to close and restart my skype. This problem occurs usually every 30-40 minutes into a group call, and it only happens to me. I am pretty sure it is not my ISP, because my programs that require internet are running perfectly fine while the call drops..
    Do you guys have any idea what could be causing this?

    Have you monitored your connection in Skype and the taskbar when it drops?  The issue may be related to your router and it running out of resources after a set period of time so it drops the session.  If you are going wireless you could try wired.  You could also try temporarily bypassing your router and connecting directly to your modem if that option exists.  It could also be related to your drivers or some memory resident software generating some type of crash.  If so you might have any errors listed in Window Event Viewer.  You could try updating your audio/video/network drivers to see if anything changes.

  • Skype constantly drops calls

    I have the ipad air, its half a year old and for some reason it constantly disconnects and reconnects from the internet every 20 minutes
    When i'm in a skype video call, it drops every 5 minutes
    Others have said turning off bluetooth will make it work, but i've already turned it off.

    I purchased a 3GS phone, worked great, excellent reception, NO CALL drop outs excellent phone.
    The phone was 17 months old, loaded a new software update and the problems started!
    Phone would get to between 50% and 80% battery life remaining and the phone would just shut down. I had to plug it back into a charger for about 20min before it would boot back up.
    Tried for 3 months to get it right, software updates etc, etc, etc.
    GAVE UP!
    Bought a new 4S, took it out of my Telstra Country Business store, after being guaranteed that it had the Telstra counrty tick of approval and it droped out, cancelled calls, calls failed, bad reception, my clients only hearing every second or third word that I said.
    Returned to the Telstra store and they said they could send it away for me to be repaired !!!!!! Phone was 10 minutes old!
    So the story goes, hours on the phone resetting the software turning stuff on and off.
    Then off to the Apple store 1 hour 10 mins drive away, brand new phone supplied to me, excellent service!
    The new phone is as bad as the last one!
    PLEASE ! Dont buy an Apple iPhone for your business calls, they don't work! and it will cost you many hours of your time and possibly your customers!
    I was a possinate Apple customer!

    Skype provides two methods of paying for outgoing calls to fixed or mobile numbers:  a Skype subscription or Buy Skype credit.  Skype-to-Skype calls are always free of charge.
    In the case of Skype Credit, the cost of the call is debited from your balance as the call progresses.  When you reach the equivalent of "2" in whatever currency your account is set to, the credit will attempt to "top up," or the call will drop.  In the case of a subscription, the subscription covers the cost of the outbound calls.

  • FaceTime doenst work - keeps dropping calls as soon as I answer

    Facetime calls come through on my iphone and MacBook Air. But if I try to answer on my MacBook Air, it attempts connection and then immediately drops call, so I have to make and receive all facetime calls on my iphone.
    skype works on my MacBook Air.
    any suggestions?

  • Having major dropped call issues in Seattle

    On calls this morning and things drop five times in an hour.
    I've had to switch to Skype.
    This is with both iPhone 5 and HTC 8x.

  • 4.3.2 iPhone upgrade and dropped calls.

    Since upgrading to the 4.3.2 OS three days ago, I've been experiencing numerous dropped calls on the order of one every minute.  Calls linger in limbo before connecting and then drop.  Antena signal reads 3 bars.  I'm missing calls too.  I live in the same area and have NEVER had a problem with dropped calls until this update and it is really causing problems.  Why?  Is the phone failing?  Is this an update problem?  Is this a network problem?  Is anyone else experiencing this?

    I am experiencing the same issue here in Germany, Network is T-Mobile.
    Since upgrade to 4.3.2 I have dropped calls regularly with my iPhone4!!
    This is getting more and more annoying.
    What happens is: I am starting a call or am receiving a call. The call stays up for 1-5 minutes. During that time (randomly differs from 30 seconds to 5 minutes) all of a sudden the person on the other side does not hear me anymore! I am still able to hear him/her! After around 5-10 seconds after that happening, the connection is lost/cancelled. This is happening independently of the amount of bars, meaning it does not matter whether I am having 5, 3 or just one bar.
    Please Apple solve this!! I cannot use my phone anymore the way it is supposed to work! Never had this issue before the upgrade in the same places - in fact, before the upgrade, I did not experience ANY dropped call whatsoever!!
    BTW: I tried reboot, reset of all settings, backup, etc. - no positive effect.

  • Dropped calls and no service in my house...why am I even paying a phone bill?

    I've been a Verizon customer for probably around 6 or 7 years now. I've had plenty of different devices and was always happy with my phone. A few years ago, service started to get horrible in my house. I would barely get service and my phone would drop calls. I have spent hours over the past 2 years on the phone with reps. Some were very helpful, and some were very frustrating. I have put in service tickets and even changed out my phone to try to get better service. Let me also note that AT&T customers get perfect service inside of my house. I don't even want to hear the excuse that Verizon doesn't guarantee service inside of a building due to building materials. The last time I checked, I didn't rebuild my house in the past few years with new materials. I use my cell phone for business when I'm at home, so it is extremely important that it works inside my house. I put my most recent service ticket in almost 2 weeks ago and there is STILL no resolution. I also won't accept if the only resolution is me buying a network extender.. I'd rather pay an early termination fee and leave before I'd ever spend money on another Verizon device. I have had 2 reps in the past week tell me that they would call me back and I never hear anything. I also have been told that they would resolve it by a certain date, only to find out that now they are saying it's going to stay open until they can figure it out. I rely on my phone for work now more than ever since I recently starting working from home, so how can I accept the fact that I am waiting around and paying for a phone that doesn't work when I need it the most? For all of my trouble, they offered me a $20 credit on my account. I shouldn't even use the word "offered" because I was the one who mentioned that I should be reimbursed for my time. I'm so sick of wasting my time on the phone and I am truly disgusted with Verizon. As a long time customer who has spent thousands of dollars over the year paying for Verizon service, I would expect to be treated much better than this.

    I am not in the same boat, Verizon works absolutely everywhere I go and I am super happy with the service. If the service started not working however, and I got no resolve, I would just cancel it and switch providers. No point in paying for service you can't use, especially where you live.
