Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. Contact support staff to check whether service has been registered under Windows installer
I apologize if I write well but are novel and not really know English so I translated by Google Translate

Try this  Lessmsi  method:
http://community.skype.com/t5/Windows-archive/Impossible-to-install-v6-13-0-104-Error-16...
Be aware that if you want to install the currently latest 7.6.0.103  version, then you should use SkypeSetup_7.6.0.103.msi file in order to extract Skype.exe and Login.cab files.
SkypeSetup_7.6.0.103.msi file can be downloaded using this link:
http://download.skype.com/msi/SkypeSetup_7.6.0.103.msi
Don't run this installer, but only use the downloaded SkypeSetup_7.6.0.103.msi file to extract the Skype.exe and Login.cab files.

  • Frozen ipod after new updates, will not recover, error codes 1601 and 1602

i updated my ipod last night, was working fine, turned off, then on again this morning. was working fine this morning for a while, then went completely blank, will not start up, just completely dead. i have tried to restore, several times and get error code 1601, and 1602. have tried restarting my computer, checking for updates, restarting my itunes, using another computer, tried another lead, and everything else suggested by support. it will just not do anything. has anyone got any suggestions, please.

I would suggest that you put your iPod into the recovery mode and restore it. Next time something like this, it is better to start with the more basic troubleshooting steps first before trying to restore. The two easiest are restart and reset.
Try these steps with your touch.
    1. Unplug the device from your computer
    2. Turn the touch off - hold the Sleep/Wake button down until you see the red slider and turn the device off. Note: this may not work. If not, go to the next step.
    3. Start iTunes
    4. Hold the Home button down and keep holding it down while you plug your iPod back into your computer.
    5. Keep holding the button down until iTunes tells your "that an iPod in Recovery mode has been detected".
    6. Let go of the button and follow the on screen instructions to restore the touch.

  • Error code 1601

My 2 yr old iphone 4 died a few days ago and after researching on the web, I eventually found something that worked for itunes to recongnize it (I opened itunes, held down sleep and home button at the same time, attached usb, let go of the sleep button while still holding the home button, then let go of the home button) I don't know how, but it worked:)
Thought I was home and dry, itunes recognized the phone in recovery mode and I clicked restore....however, after 5 mins a pop-up box with error code 1601 appeared - please help where do I go from here (I have tried different usb ports, and uninstalled all apple software, updates, quicktime etc. and re-installed).

    Hello there, JulieFromBootle.
This article references your error message and provides helpful steps on resolving your issue:
iTunes: Specific update-and-restore error messages and advanced troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694#error1601
Error 1601 is listed further below but recommends the steps for resolving Error 1604:
    Error 1604
This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
    When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
    Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.
    Error 1600, 1601, 1602
Follow the steps listed above for Error 1604. This error may also be resolved by disabling, deactivating, or uninstalling third-party security, antivirus, and firewall software. See steps in this article for details on troubleshooting security software.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.

I would add that for some time does not turn on. Yesterday I connected it to yamaha hifi and work. today again is black.
    Please help Maja

    Hey MajaPil,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Looks like you are getting an error when connecting to the iMac.
Resolve specific iTunes update and restore errors
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3694#1600
    Check USB connections
    Related errors: 13, 14, 1600, 1601, 1602, 1603, 1604, 1611, 1643-1650, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, 4000, 4005, 4013, 4014, 4016, “invalid response,” and being prompted to restore again after a restore completes.
If there’s an issue with the USB port, cable, dock, or hub, or if the device becomes disconnected during restore, try troubleshooting the USB connection, then troubleshooting your security software.
To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
    Use another USB cable.
Plug your cable into a different USB port on your computer.
Try a different dock connector (or no dock).
Add (or remove) a USB hub between your device and computer.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, with no routers, hubs, or switches.
If you checked your connections and are still seeing the error message, check for hardware issues.
    Have a nice day,
    Mario

  • When i try updating my iphone3gs it gives error code 1601

plz help my fone is black now
i m nt able to switch on my phone

I'm assuming you have updated to iTunes 5.0 or 5.0.1. This seems to be a fairly common problem. What seems to be happening is the old XML file. This file contains the songs and playlist informaiton and depending on which file iTunes is using, some of these objects could have been deleted or removed.
To fix this, you can try selecting File > Import in iTunes. Navigate to My Documents\My Music\iTunes and import the "iTunes Music Library.xml" file. NOTE: you may need to change the file type you are searching for at the bottom of the browse window. This file should be correct, but if it is not you can import other libraries from the My Documents\My Music\Previous iTunes Libraries and select the something.itl file. This may cause multiple copies of songs to display, to prevent that you should clean out your current library and playlists completely.

  • Windows Server 2012 Windows Backup failed with following error code '0x8078006B' (Windows Backup failed to create the shared protection point on the source volumes.).

The Volume Shadow Copy service initially was running under the context of System, so we thought that ‘System’ doesn’t have permissions to access network shares.
When the Volume Shadow Copy service was running under the context of System, this was the error logged:
“failed with following error code '0x8078014B' (There was a failure in creating a directory on the backup storage location.).”
Which is likely due to not having permissions to write to the network location.
This is a scheduled backup trying to write to a network location, so we changes the service to run under the context of an account that does have permissions to write to the network share.
Then the error changed to this:
“failed with following error code '0x8078006B' (Windows Backup failed to create the shared protection point on the source volumes.).”

We aren’t really seeing anything that gives any hint on what the issue is.
    Any ideas?  Thanks in advance!

We are trying to back up folders/files from 2 local drives (C: & D:), both of which have only 10% space used, and 100 GB free.
We are attempting to back the files up to a Remote Shared File (and there is 100+ GB free space out there).
If we try another network location, we receive the exact same error.
This is Windows Server 2012, not running Hyper-V and is a physical server not a VM.
    Thank you for the link.

    Collapse All | Expand All
      Error 1 or -1
This may indicate a hardware issue with your device. Follow Troubleshooting security software issues, and restore your device on a different known-good computer. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
This device is not eligible for the requested build (Also sometimes displayed as an "error 3194")
Update to the latest version of iTunes. Mac OS X 10.5.8 (Leopard) users may need to download iTunes 10.6.3.
Third-party security software or router security settings can also cause this issue. To resolve this, follow Troubleshooting security software issues.
Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to perform unauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. Uninstall the unauthorized modification software from the computer.
Edit out the "gs.apple.com" redirect from your hosts file, and then restart the computer for the host file changes to take affect. For steps to edit the Hosts file and allow iTunes to communicate with the update server, see iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you do not uninstall the unauthorized modification software prior to editing the hosts file, that software may automatically modify the hosts file again on restart.
Avoid using an older or modified .ipsw file. Try moving the current .ipsw file (see Advanced Steps > Rename, move, or delete the iOS software file (.ipsw) below for file locations), or try restoring in a new user to ensure that iTunes downloads a new .ipsw.
      Error 3014
This error occurs when iTunes is unable to reach gs.apple.com in a timely fashion. Follow the steps below in Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com.
      Error 9
This error occurs when the device unexpectedly loses its USB connection with iTunes. This can occur if the device is manually disconnected during the restore process. This issue can be resolved by performing USB troubleshooting, using a different USB dock-connector cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by eliminating conflicts from third-party security software.
      Error 20, 21, 23, 26, 28, 29, 34, 36, 37, 40
These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. Follow Troubleshooting security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.
      Error 1603
Follow the steps listed above for Error 1604. Also, discard the .ipsw file, open iTunes and attempt to download the update again. See the steps under Advanced Steps > Rename, move, or delete the iOS software file (.ipsw) below for file locations. If you do not want to remove the IPSW in the original user, try restoring in a new administrator user. If the issue remains, Eliminate third-party security software conflicts.
      Error 1611
This error typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. Follow Troubleshooting security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, this error may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
Error 13, 14, 35 and 50 (or -50)These errors are typically resolved by performing one or more of the steps listed below:
Perform USB isolation troubleshooting, including trying a different USB port directly on the computer. See the advanced steps below for USB troubleshooting.
Put a USB 2.0 hub between the device and the computer.
    Try a different USB 30-pin dock-connector cable.
    Eliminate third-party security software conflicts.
There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting one or more TcpWindowSize entries into your registry. Your default packet size being set incorrectly can cause this error. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet-size modification for assistance. Or, follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to reset the packet size back to the default for Windows.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, bypassing any routers, hubs, or switches. You may need to restart your computer and modem to get online.
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.
      Error 2000-2009 (2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, and so on)
If you experience this issue on a Mac, disconnect third-party devices, hubs, spare cables, displays, reset the SMC, and then try to restore. If you are using a Windows computer, remove all USB devices and spare cables other than your keyboard, mouse, and the device, restart the computer, and try to restore. If that does not resolve the issue, try the USB issue-resolution steps and articles listed for Error 1604 above. If the issue persists, it may be related to conflicting security software. If the errors persist on another computer and known-good USB cable, the device may need service.
Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes)
Troubleshoot your USB connection. If the issue persists, out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software may be causing this issue. Please follow Troubleshooting security software issues. .

  • I'm getting error code -54 when trying to connect to iTunes store...

    Hello,
I have been receiving the following message code all week when trying to connect to the store:
"iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store, An unknown error occurred (-54).
Make sure your network connection is active and try again"
    My internet connection works fine.
Some other strange things that are happening on my MBP with leopard, is that Virus Barrier flashes up IP address after IP address trying to connect to some 5 digit port time and time and time again when I use Skype or any P2P sharing software – rendering them pretty much unusable (a DoS attack maybe?).
I had started this thread beforehand, I don't know if they are related with the iTunes error code mentioned above.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2485199&tstart=0
    Any advice much appreciated.

I got this error after upgrading to new version. After searching these pages for an answer and not finding a usable one, I simply quit and re-opened iTunes, and... voila! Problem solved!

  • Update to Acrobat 9.4.2 failed Error code 1646

I received a notice of an update to Acrobat 9.4.2 and initiated the update. The update failed with error code 1646. I then manually downloaded the update and attempted the update. I received the error message that uninstall of this update is not supported. Is there any way to purge this failed update so I can reinstall it? I am running the 64 bit version of Windows 7.

Hi all--has anyone been able to fix this problem?  I ran into the same exact issue as oloven upgrading from 9.4.5 to 9.4.6.  Now I am trying to upgrade to Acrobat X, but am not able to since Acrobat 9 cannot be uninstalled.  This is the only thread I can find discussing this problem anywhere...
I generated an install log for when I try to install 9.4.6 following the steps SimonATS outlined above.  From a first look through, it looks like the problem may be related to an inability to find old update files?  I took over this machine from someone else, and the updates would have been installed under his username...it looks like that might be causing some mix-ups.
    Any ideas?

  • Error code:805a01f5 when trying to download apps o...

I've been trying to download apps for my Lumia 800 for more than a day now, but I can't. The error message is "Marketplace isn't available at the moment. Please check back in a bit. Error code:805a01f5". I'm still able to download apps, as long as it's not Xbox Live apps, Skype, and some other apps. I tried uninstalling the Angry Birds trial I got 2 days ago and downloading it again through the marketplace but now I only get this error. Tried resetting my phone and fixing everything but still nothing.

Leonark please see http://forums.adobe.com/message/6255811#6255811 where this topic has been dicussed.
