Skype/Facetime keeps disconnecting my connection?

Skype/Facetime has always been working without any problems for me until yesterday (Mon, Feb 18 2013). Every time I'm using Skype or Facetime and I'm connected into a call, it works for a good 5 minutes or so and suddenly disconnects me on Skype & puts me offline & when it does that, it also disconnects my connection. I'm using a WIFI connection on my macbook pro but it's a locked one with a security password so only me & my family have access to this connection. I've tried checking if it was my WIFI that was causing this problem but my WIFI seem's to be perfectly fine. I'm able to use Safari or any other applications without any disconnecting problems, but when it comes to Skype/Facetime, 5 minutes into a video call, it ends the call and disconnects my wifi and I have to restart my macbook in order to make the connection work again but if I go back on Skype/Facetime, it disconnects again. I've tried updating my software and the applications and it still has the same problems.. Can anyone help me please?

  • Skype account keeps disconnecting after 30 seconds

    hi guys,
its driving me nuts.  my skype account keeps disconnecting after 30 seconds and i haven't even done anything.  it does it on windows, and on my iphone too.
what's going on? is this a problem with skype?  i've seen similar posts. and i'm using skype 6.20

That generally means there is an issue with your Microsoft account.  You may have to verify some settings in your account to make sure a configuration isn't causing it.  The only solution I'm aware of is temporarily unlinking your account.  I do not know if reconnecting it will resolve the issue right away.

  • Messages and FaceTime keep disconnecting from my MacBook Pro.

iMessage and FaceTime keep disconnecting from my MacBook Pro. I’ve never turned either of them off on my computer, but every time I turn them back on, they work for about a week, and then I start getting messages and phone calls on my iPhone and iPad but not on my MacBook. Is anyone else having this problem?

I'll ask the hosts to move this post to Yosemite.

Try restarting your phone and computer. Make sure itunes is up to date. Try different USB port.

  • Why does my ipod keep disconnecting and connecting every half a second?

I had my iPod touch (4th gen, ios6) synced to a desktop and when I tried connecting it to my new laptop to sync it keeps connecting then disconnecting every half a second (flashing on and off) and will not connect at all. Do I need to do something with my old computer? I don't think it's something wrong with the cord because it connects to the wall just fine.

Different conductors/contacts are used for charging and dats. Thus, it still could be a bad cable.

    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Try on another computer to help determine if iPod or computer problem
    - If it works with other computer that indicates a problem with your computer. Try

    or

  • Skype calls keep disconnecting

I'm having trouble with skype on my Surface RT. During a call it disconnects me anywhere from 2mins to 10mins into the call. I've refreshed my tablet, uninstalled & reinstalled the app. I don't have this issue with Skype on the Xbox One or when I use skype on my WP 8.1. That rules out any issues with my internet & with the other persons end.

I use my Window Surface to connect my skype by wifi but It can not now I do not know. Althougth I reset my Surface

  • My facetime keeps disconnecting

    Hi,
I Facetime my girlfriend on a regular basis and for months now, I have been experiencing frequent disconnections with Facetime.
Despite both of us having strong Wi-Fi signal at home, our Facetime session keeps freezing with the word "Reconnecting...".
It is so frequent that every night, we expect Facetime to fail 3-10 times.
Any solution or is this a buggy feature of facetime?

  • Ipod Facetime keeps disconnecting my wifi

I installed Facetime on my iPod touch in May, and used it with my brother in Maine for a week with no problems, on someone else's router.
Now, I'm using it at home with an Airport Extreme, calling the same brother, and every minute or two, Facetime freezes and then disconnects the wifi.  I have to reselect the wireless network, reconnect Facetime, and we talk for another minute or two until it happens again.  The airport extreme signal is strong, and I can be right next to the router and it still happens.  When I'm not using Facetime, my connection is fine.  I can stream music and video, no problem.
This is really annoying.  The disconnection is only on my end, not on my brother's Mac.
    Any solutions to this?

I am having the same exact issue with my iPod too, I used to be able to chat fine with the 5.0.0 and lower version but then the new update 5.0.1 came out and I updated it, since that my FaceTime changed and cannot use for like 2-3 mins without my wifi going off on me. My friend can use it on her Mac fine, but I use on my iPod and it does this all the time, also at school it works fine just does this at home. Any solutions? Thanks.

Does the cable you try is the official one from the apple store?
Which iphone model do you have and what's the iOS version, iTunes version?

added: same problem connection gps on msi laptop.
installation did not succeed of the new update card.
second time, I  held the laptop and followed the installation (while watchin tv), at the end, I moved then, connection was lost en then made back again, and this for a couple of times.
But at the end, card was installed succesfully, luckily, it take hours to download and install the card.
I really hope for a quick solution.
Can you explain how you install the card and what kind of card are you installing?
Are you conneting to the internet through wifi? or you use bluetooth or something else to download the GPS maps or something else?

  • Outlook Keeps disconnecting and connecting right away using ZenLoadBlancer

    Hi Guys,
Have you seen this before? Im not sure you are familiar with this load balancer but if you are can you help me with the configuration?  Everything is working fine except outlook a few times an hour disconnects and reconnects right away.  I heard
it might have to do with my load balancer and time-out settings.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Firstly, I’d like to explain, the connection issue may have many reasons and is not limited to the load balancer configuration.
Thus, to narrow down the cause, I’d like to confirm the following information:
Does the issue happens on all users including external users and internal users?
Does the issue happen randomly or regularly?
Does the problematic Outlook user use online mode or cached mode?
Can the issue be reproduced if you make client pass the load balancer and directly connect to CAS server?
If you have any question, please feel free to let me know.
    Best regards,
    Angela Shi

  • Skype keeps disconnecting my internet.

Hello I recently just moved house and acquired BT Infinity 2. Ever since moving house and Internet provider joining skype calls keeps disconnecting my connection. I am currently on a wireless connection and have had BT Infinity since Thursday the 13th of February. If anyone could please help me I would be really happy.
    Thanks, Simon.

I cannot currently connect to my Hub with an ethernet cable as my computer is upstairs. I do not understand how I never had this problem when I was on a 2mb download speed connection with Sky but now I have this problem on a 20mb download speed connection with BT.
Is there anything else I can do to solve this problem, I have tried turning my hub off and on but that doesn't seem to work? Would you recommend trying the reset button to make the hub default back to factory settings? I wasnt sure whether to try this since it sounded a bit scary and I didn't want to mess things up more.
Also while I'm here, how would I go about have an ethernet cable port put in my bedroom? Could I get an electriction to do this or would I have to get a BT Engineer to come and install me one as that would be the only way I could get a wired connection from the living room downstairs where my hub is to my bedroom upstairs?
