Skype for Android comes back after log out

I'll try this message again because apparently the first time I wrote it it just went into the ether of the internet. Recently Skype on my S4 has been logging back in and starting up after I've logged out even after I've forced closed the app. Previously when I closed the app by signing out it would completely get out of skype. If this behavior continues I will make sure that I make my company and friends leave skype and Lync (since they are becoming the same thing). This is on top of the terrible redesign of the desktop app that you pretended to listen to feedback on but after over 80 pages of feedback, decided not to listen to at all. Please don't present this as a "feature" or say that you can solve the problem by turning off "Sign in automatically" and "turning off notificiations." I want those things to remain as I don't want to have to enter my password each time I use the app and I would like the notifications when in use. And turning them on and off each time is the mark of a terrible interface. If this is some sort of feature, it needs to be made separate and made sure that Skype doesn't autorun when turning on your phone. I should mention that some of these have been notifications in the middle of the night, so it not only can affect ones sleep, it can cause additional communication problems with people thinking they are online when they truly are not. Definitely not something you want in a business or personal atmosphere.  Skype for Android even with it's new notifications is still a terrible battery hog, with no option to change the now strange formatting and call button is in a place that results in a lot of unintentional calls because it's by where the touch keyboard is instead of at the top like it was previously. There is no reason that Skype should come back after being forced closed, but it should not have to get to that point. Please fix ASAP. This does explain some of the terrible battery life I've been experiencing lately.

THERE IS A WORKAROUND FOR THIS VERY ANNOYING AND BAD BEHAVIOUR I also have experienced this problem on S4mini, SII and other Android devices running all sorts of versions of AOSP. You are all correct that this should not happen (signout should == signout) but if you don't want to reboot you Android all the time then do the following (instructions for A 4.4.2 Kitkat on Samsung running TouchWiz but similar to other devices)0. Signout of SKYPE1.    SETTINGS2.        MORE ...3.            APPLICATION MANAGER4.                RUNNINGYou should find a SKYPE process; select it and STOP (ignoring any warnings). Voila, no more zombie SKYPE Worring things include being online and woken in the middle of the night - but more so is that the running process is VIDEOMONITOR - now why would MSFT want to leave that running???

  • Skype Keep re-signing in after Log Out - Yosemite 7.1

    This is an odd situation Skype was working fine, I have to switch between accounts frequently and so it was ok.  But suddenly yesterday after I select log out from de menu, Skype closes it self and reopen automatically and log in with the same account, without prompting any credentials. I already uninstalled and reinstalled without luck. Don’t know what to do. Also I updated to the latest 7.1 but same behavior.

    I have figured out what is causing this issue and submitted the following bug report to Skype. Before they release an updated version of Skype for Mac we'll have to manually clear the cache in Safari (see my bug report below). Hope this helps in the interim. [Bug report] Skype for Mac Version 7.7 (335) running in OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 on MacBook Pro Retina Late 2013 Signed in using Microsoft account. File -> Sign Out would automatically sign back in without asking for login credentials. This occurs regardless of whether the option “Sign me in when Skype starts” was selected at the initial login window. The login window can only be recovered after deleting Safari Cookies: Safari -> Preferences -> Privacy -> “N websites stored cookies or other data” [Details] -> Remove the following 3 cookies: live.com (Cookies)Local documents on your computer (Cookies)skype.com (Cookies) Please change the program accordingly so that the login credentials are not stored in the Cookies. Right now it is impossible for multiple users on the same computer to use Skype for Mac without having to manually remove the cookies in Safari every time someone quits Skype, so that the next person can sign in with his/her credentials.

  • KDE desktop does not come up after log out

    I have updated KDE to the lastest version using the Arch packages.  It worked wonderfully the first time, all of my widgits were intact and my desktop was just as I had left it, custom background and everything. Then, however, I logged out to make sure Fluxbox worked.  Now, even after rebooting, the KDE desktop doesn't come up.  It will bring up Pidgin which was running before but the taskbar and all of the widgets are gone and it has this grey background that is the same as the one in the KDM.
    No errors are produced, although it does now ask for the password for a Wallet that "Plasma Desktop" wants to access.  I recognise the name of the wallet (kdewallet) and input the password correctly after this, two notifications pop up with informational thing.  One is about some indexing service being "rebuilt" for new features and the other is saying that it's falling back on a different sound output.  None of this seems to have an impact on the limited usability I have.
    Has anyone else expereinced this?  Are there any log files where errors would be outputted to?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    I have found the relevent messages.  They are at a pastebin. http://pastebin.ca/1522805
    I'm not entirely sure what is going on here.
    After the top line of that post, there are a LOT of errors related to "No block with decorrelation terms" in fact the vast majority of that file are those things.  All other "errors" are warnings related to my Fluxbox session which is working fine.
    Lines 1, 11 and 12 seem to be the most severe errors:
    [0xa2412b0] main input error: ES_OUT_RESET_PCR called
    "/usr/bin/dolphin(4560)" Error in thread 3049428752 : "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown - The name org.kde.nepomuk.services.nepomukstorage was not provided by any .service files"
    "/usr/bin/dolphin(4560)" Error in thread 3049428752 : "QLocalSocket::connectToServer: Invalid name"
    I have no idea where to even begin fixing them. However it is Nepomuk that comes up with the rebuilding message i mentioned in my previous post.

  • GDM does not appear back after logging out from Gnome.

    Hello,
    I am tryingout Archlinux for the first time. I am able to goto run level 5 and after booting I get the GDM login screen. I can log in to Gnome. But when I log out from Gnome, GDM does not appear, but I get a black screen. Then, the only way to come out is to press the reset button.
    What may be the problem?
    Thanks for your help.
    Anand

    it may depend on how ur running gdm, (possibly with -*no-daemon option) .. in which case it'd prolly werk if u removed it...
    although i'd recommend using rc.conf instead as it's a lot cleaner...
    to use /etc/rc.conf
    add gdm to the DAEMONS;
    mine = "DAEMONS=(gdm @syslog-ng @network @alsa @httpd)"
    that starts gdm(in daemon mode), then starts syslog-ng,net*,alsa and apache in the background .. save me about 6 seconds when i background em.
    then you need to change the default runlevel in /etc/inittab to 3 (not 5)

  • Any chance for the "away" and "busy" statuses to make it back into Skype for Android?

    I recently realized that the new (well new as of early July) Skype for Android is missing the "away" and "busy" statuses (and perhaps some other one as well). I've seen other users around this forum mentioning the same thing, but it's unclear to me whether this was done intentionally or not. Are there any chances for these statuses to be added back? And if not what has been reasoning behind the decision of taking them out? - Adriano

    There is another topic, addressing this issue and also explaining it pretty good:http://community.skype.com/t5/Android/Regression-in-4-0-Away-and-Busy-statuses-not-visible/td-p/1729768Unfortunately it doesn’t have much kudos either, even though it is pretty old. The worst about it is, that you aren’t even able to see the real status of your contacts:                Contacts who have their status set to “away” are shown as online.                Contacts who have it set to “busy” are shown as offline. (Which is even worse…)This simply can’t be intentional.  Also.. It's been possible in older skype versions for android, it's also possible on ios.. So where is the need to get rid of the busy/away status in the new android version?

  • After Time Machine backs up my file vault files (after logging out), when I next log into the user account it beachballs permanently during log in.

    After Time Machine backs up my file vault files (after logging out), when I next log into the user account it beachballs permanently during log in.  The backup was successful, as I had to restore after this issue last time.  Hard resetting doesn't resolve the issue.  Is there a Time Machine setting that I should be aware of?
    I have 2011 13" MBP, 10.6.8 and use an external hard drive connected via USB for my Time Machine backups.
    Thanks

    I was able to get it to work.  Thanks for your help.  It's unfortunate the two applications do not work well together.  This is what I did:
    1) Safe boot and logged into the affected user (since the whole issue damaged the account's system settings).
    2) Turned off File Vault in System Preferences. I needed to make some space on the hard drive first since apparently the total free space on the hard drive has to equal or exceed the amount of data currently in the file vault.  I deleted some files and moved others to the Admin account.  This whole process took awhile.
    3) Finally, just restarted and logged in.  The next time machine backup seems to be a significant backup, I assume because it's backing up the user account in a different way now that File Vault is turned off.
    Thanks again!

  • After logging out of mozilla firefox i cannot log back in to mozilla firefiox , why ?

    after logging out of Mozilla Firefox
    I can't log back in
    why ?
    please help me

    This just happened to me too. But I've been on iTunes Match for several months now. I've had the problem several times before where ITM says something's "not available at this time; try again later," and at those times I've had to sign out of my iTunes Store account and back in for ITM to work again.
    But this time, when I tried to turn on iTunes Match again, I got this error (on my screen right now):
    iTunes match is matching a library from another computer. Only one library can be matched at a time. If you continue, the other iTunes Match session will be stopped and this computer's library will be matched instead. Buttons: [Cancel] [Match this computer]
    Well, I surely do NOT want to "Match this computer", as I have several thousand songs in iCloud that are NOT on this computer!
    What is going on???

  • Preventing the User from going back to the main page after logging out.

    Hi all,
    In my project I want to prevent the User from going back to the Main page, by clicking the back button of the browser, after the user has loggged out.I had invalidated the session so the user will not be able to do any operations, but he can vew the infos. I want to redirect to the login page if the user tries to go back using the back button after he has logged out.
    I tried the same in this forum after loging out. Surprisingly it is the same. I can browse through all the operations i did even after logging out from here.
    Is it not possible to do that in Servlets?Could somebody help?
    Thanks,
    Zach.

    Hi,
    You can use a servlet filter to do this , as it can interceptany request to your application you can decide to allow user access or not to any page/servlet.
    public class Test implements Filter{
         public void destroy() {
         public void doFilter(ServletRequest arg0, ServletResponse arg1, FilterChain arg2) throws IOException,
                   ServletException {
              System.out.println("filter");
              HttpServletRequest request = (HttpServletRequest) arg0;
              if(!request.getRequestURI().contains("index")){ // set condition that will be checked to verify if the user is logged in
                   System.out.println("redirecting ... ");
                   RequestDispatcher d = arg0.getRequestDispatcher("/index.jsp");
                   d.forward(arg0, arg1);
              arg2.doFilter(arg0, arg1);
         public void init(FilterConfig arg0) throws ServletException {
    }in you web.xml add :
    <filter>
              <filter-name>test</filter-name>
              <filter-class>test.Test</filter-class>
         </filter>
         <filter-mapping>
              <filter-name>test</filter-name>
              <url-pattern>/*</url-pattern>
         </filter-mapping>

  • There are several login keychain items I'd like to get rid of. I've deleted them but they come back after several hours. How can I get rid of them for good

    There are several login keychain items I'd like to get rid of. I've deleted them but they come back after several hours. How can I get rid of them for good.

    Back up all data before proceeding.
    Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
    Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
    If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.
    Right-click or control-click the login entry in the list. From the menu that pops up, select
              Change Settings for Keychain "login"
    In the sheet that opens, uncheck both boxes, if not already unchecked.
    From the menu bar, select
              Keychain Access ▹ Preferences ▹ First Aid
    If the box marked
              Keep login keychain unlocked
    is not checked, check it.
    Select
              Keychain Access ▹ Keychain First Aid
    from the menu bar and repair the keychain. Quit Keychain Access.

Some object reference at line 66 of TemplateNames.java is null while you didn't expect and you still invoke/access it. To fix this, add a nullcheck or just instantiate the reference.

  • Q&A with the team behind Skype for Android

    Skype for Android is one of our most widely used mobile products. Over five hundred million installations of the app have taken place from the Play Store, so it has a lot of fans out there. That’s why the Skype Community wants to connect you with the people who make Skype for Android happen.
    If you have questions about how the app works, what the team are working on at the moment, or what their favourite sandwich topping is, you’ll get a chance to ask them at our #SkypeFeedback live event.
    To take part, all you need to do is head to the Android Live Event board which we’ve created for this, and post your Android-related questions there in preparation for the live event on 28/05/2015 at 5 PM GMT / 12 PM EST / 9 AM PST.
    The event will last for 2 hours.
    During the event the Skype for Android team will work through your pre-submitted questions, and we’ll add in questions that come through on Twitter using #SkypeFeedback. All questions and answers will be gathered in the Skype Community group for easy reading after the event.
    This event with the team who are responsible for Skype for Android follows on from a previous event with the team that maintain Skype Support.

  • MBP does not come back after hybernation

    Hello everyone,
    I am enjoying my MBP except for one problem. It does not come back after it hybernates sometimes.
    I hit a key, hear the superdrive do it's "thing" and then after much waiting (approximately over 10 minutes) no picture or video on the screen!
    I can tell that it's still powered on because it's plugged in and when I hit the Caps Lock key it lights on and off.
    The only way that I can get it out of this state is to hold down the power button, unplug the power cord, take the battery out, hold in the power button for 4 seconds, reinsert the battery and power back on.
    I have to then cycle the power back off because the first time it does not come back but I just get the blank white boot screen and no 'apple'.
    When I turn it back on the second time, it boots up.
    Anyone else have a problem with this?
    Thanks for listening!
    Mark

    Hello Gweedo!
    Yeah I have the same issue and am up to date. Apparently this is a pretty huge problem with the Macbook Pro since the last Graphics update after updating to 10.5.2.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1394449
    I have been perusing through that topic and hopefully they will come up with a fix for this.
    The only work-a-round that I have found (but haven't tested extensively yet) is to disconnect to the wireless, turn off blue tooth, disconnect my external monitor and then go into sleep mode. Then it always comes back. But if I leave it connected to the wireless, bluetooth, and external monitor - it's a crap shoot as to weather or not it will come back up.
    This is pretty frustrating because half of using a laptop is being able to hybernate and sleep properly.
    I even have the 'smartsleep' installed.
    Thanks for commenting everybody!

  • Very weird: uninstalled programs come back after reboot

    I have turned off the system restore. I am sure the programs are uninstalled from the control panel, and the files in C:\Program Files\xxx are all gone. But these programs  always comes back after a reboot, and resets all the file associations. I guess
    it is a strategy the previous IT staff used to protect these programs. But the current IT staff have no clue what is happening here. It is so annoying.
    Thank you very much for any input.

    When you restart your PC, does it remove everything?
    You might have two administrator in your account, try use log off and see what administrators do you have in your PC?

    hi
    once i click on logout link .it reaches to my servlet and there i am setting the header and then forwarding to the login page again.
    so i dint understand " you should disable caching at the top of your views"
    can u please explain it.
    public void doGet(HttpServletRequest request,HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException
            HttpSession session = request.getSession(true);
            session.removeAttribute("flag");
            session.invalidate();
            response.setHeader("Cache-Control","no-cache");
            response.setHeader("Cache-Control","no-store");
            response.setDateHeader("Expires", 0);
            response.setHeader("Pragma","no-cache");
            System.out.println("i have reached here ");
            dispatcher = getServletContext().getRequestDispatcher("/index.jsp");
            dispatcher.forward(request, response);
           }i tried putting the above header lines in jsp also ...
    but the result is same it allowed me to navigate in to the application using back button .
    I have googled for a solution ...but was not able to land with a solution .
    Kindly suggest
    Thanks in advance
