Skype for curve 9380

lost two years.i m using curve 9380 still i cant find solution for Skype.i think now Blackberry only consider about 10 OS users. i am unhapy with my mobile and black berry.

Skype built the app, not BlackBerry.
BlackBerry can't force a developer to build or release apps.

  • FREE Facebook Application & Skype for Curve 8900

    Hi, I just bought a BlackBerry Curve 8900 in last week and kind of frustrated when I was not finding any free application for Facebook chatting. I tried with ebuddy and nimbuzz but both of them did not work.
    Can anyone please let me know if there is any free application for Facebook chatting in this device ?
    Also, is there anyway to run the Skype in Curve 8900 ?
    Will appreciate your suggestion.
    Thanks !
    Hasan

    Well I don't know any free facebooks chat app but there is paid apps which would cost you USD 1.99. If you wish to have this app the check this link.
    Skype for BlackBerry is available to Verizon subscribers only. Till date this is exclusive for them only

    Well, they (Orange France) are 100% responsible for ALL of your services and ALL of your support. If they cannot resolve issues, they have the power to escalate into RIM for enhanced support, and that escalation is at no cost to the end user.
    MBA wrote:

    Since RIM has no direct-to-consumer support channel, I'm not clear as to how you accomplished this. If you used Incident Support, then you would have had to pay for the ability to even ask the question. All support must start with the carriers, who can escalate to RIM at no cost to the end user. There is no other free channel by which to receive ANY support from RIM, only via escalation from the carrier. If you contacted some general RIM office in France, it would definitely not have been a support channel...more likely a sales office, and hence no surprise that they are confused.

    I have no idea what you mean by "UNIK"...and what "terminal"?
    MBA wrote:
    For me, i use only UMA, and UMA is't not opérationnal... why ?
    As I've said, UMA is a carrier-provided service, not a RIM-provided service. Hence, the proper place to receive the answer is from the carrier. Hopefully you can escalate with them and receive a good answer. Don't let them fob you off...think of it this way -- you pay Orange France for everything...and they are not delivering something to you...you should be very upset about that, but the target of your upset needs to be Orange France.
    Good luck!

  • Curve 9380: Return from character input to QWERTY keyboard

    Hello,
    I own BlackBerry Curve 9380 smartphone (all touch, without physical keyboard).
    I have the following issue:
    Consider you're writing a text message, when you need a question mark you're tapping on the "&% 123"  button in the left-down corner and selecting the question mark. In order to return back to the original QWERTY keyboard you need to tap on the button again, now "ABC".
    Is that possible to automate the return to the QWERTY keyboard from character input keyboard after tapping the "space" button?
    Keyboard is returning automatically back only if you will tap on the "Enter" button.
    Adding the "space" button would be a great enhancement for touch-based devices featuring BlackBerry 7 OS.
    Thank you.
    P.S. I didn't find any better medium for my concern than this forum, if somebody knows how to reach directly to software engineering group, please let me know.

    You still have the constructor declared inside the main method! :-)
    public class TrySimpleVectorWithKeyboardInput
    public static void main(String[] args)
    public TrySimpleVectorWithKeyboardInput()
    {}Move the two lines to outside the main. It should look something like this..
    import java.util.*;
    import java.io.*;
    public class TrySimpleVectorWithKeyboardInput {
        public TrySimpleVectorWithKeyboardInput() {
          // constructor code goes here
        public static void main(String[] args)    {
            Vector names = new Vector();
            FormattedInput kb = new FormattedInput();
            for (int i = 0; i < 5; i++) {
                try {
                    System.out.print("Enter a  name ");
                    names.add( kb.readString());
                } catch (InvalidUserInputException e) {
                    System.out.println("InvalidUserInputException thrown. \n" + e.getMessage());
            System.out.println("\nThe names in the vector are:\n ");
            Iterator j = names.iterator();
            while (j.hasNext()) {
                System.out.println(j.next());

    Did you perform a hard reset yet?
    Perform a Hard Reset
    A hard reset is similar to restarting a computer that stops responding. A hard reset closes all running BlackBerry applications, restarts the BlackBerry smartphone operating system, and restarts the hardware components of the BlackBerry smartphone, including the wireless transceiver. A hard reset does not delete any settings or data on the BlackBerry smartphone.
    To perform a hard reset, complete the following steps:
    Turn the BlackBerry smartphone off.
    Remove the battery.
    Reinsert the battery.
    Wait for the BlackBerry smartphone to turn on.
    Click if you want to Thank someone. If Problem is resolved, so that others can make use of it.

  • Curve 9380

    Afternoon
    I have a (bought brand new) Curve 9380.  It has been working fine until Thursday night/Friday morning.
    I was staying in a Hotel, and noticed on Thursday night that the battery was almost exhausted. I put the phone on charge and was soon asleep. The next morning, the phone was not working.
    I would like to know if anyone can solve this for me or if I will need to send this somewhere for repair?
    The symoptoms:
    *Intermittent red light (3/4 seconds red, then off again).
    *No display, no function on pressing any buttons
    *No display when battery removed and replaced
    I have attached my Curve to this laptop.  Although the "battery charge" logo appeared VERY briefly, nothing seems to have been resolved. Further:
    *The laptop is making, every 30 seconds or so, the noise to indicate a device has been attached and removed (the distinctive two note noise)
    *The Curve red light is still intermittent.
    *No display
    Does anyone know what the problem is? Can it be fixed?
    Many thanks

  • Curve 9380 - pulled?

    Was the Curve 9380 just pulled from the market?  (or just my carrier handing me a line?)
    I have been trying to get this phone.  My carrier thought they had one, turns out that one was cracked on the battery cover so they couldn't give it to me.  They tried to order another one, & were told it was pulled from the market.
    What is with that?  Blackberry finally comes out with a competative,phone for the average person, & wham-o they pull it.
    Makes it difficult to support this Canadian product.
    If this has been pulled, will there be a replacement?  I've been looking for a Blackberry, all-touch screen front (no keypad), with wi-fi (not requiring the data plan).  Difficult to get!  The Touch all touch, required the data plan.

    Thanks for that info., much appreciated.  That would explain it.  My carrier is Bell.
    My contract runs out this yr.  As of last week, Telus was able to get one in for me ... if that is still the case when my contract is up, I plan to switch to Telus.  It's an awesome phone for my needs.. I seriously hope Bell brings it back!
    I have to wonder if the ability to use wifi on this phone, thus; having a regular mobile contract w/o data plan, is a reason they dropped the phone.  They wouldn't make as much money on it.  Which is too bad because if they put the phone out there, a lot of people will eventually go for the data plan even if they don't take it, at first.  In the long run, it would be good.
    I have been trying for mths to go Blackberry but it just isn't working in my favoure.  I want a touch front (same as the 9380), & no data plan (use wifi).  This is the first touch front, that had wifi & didn't require a data plan.  No one wants to sell that sort of package anymore (without data).  Too bad... but I just can't put $50 or $80 or $100 or more per mth., into a phone plan which is what a data plan would cost me.
    bummer

  • Curve 9380 & OS7.1

    Hi there,
    Would like to upgrade my Curve 9380 with latest 7.1 OS.
    Currently reside in France with Orange as my supplier. Do you know if it's available and if so how do i download it.
    Thanks

    Hello,
    The simplest way is to, on a PC (you cannot do this on MAC):
    1) Uninstall, from your PC, any BB OS packages
    2) Make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    3) Download and install, to your PC, the BB OS package you desire:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    4) If that OS package is from a carrier other than the carrier for which your BB was originally manufactured, then delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML (there will be at least one, perhaps 2)
    5) Launch the Desktop Software and connect your BB...the software should offer you the OS package you installed to your PC
    Don't forget to backup.
    If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:
    KB19915How to perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software

  • My bb curve 9380 shutdown and a red led lighting

     my bb curve 9380 shutdown and a red led lighting i don't now what hapned but i just modify some apps bay bb desktop softwere please help me and thx verry much

    Hi and Welcome to the Community!
    Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB):
    With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
    Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
    Remove the battery
    Wait 15 minutes
    Insert the battery
    Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
    This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.
    It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:
    Obtain an known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
    Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens
    The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem.
    If the problem is revealed via the above tests to be your BB, then I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:
    KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode
    It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, see what happens.
    If the behavior ceases, then think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.
    But if the behavior continues in Safe Mode, then you may need to consider more drastic actions -- WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload, and the "Bare Bones" OS Reload Process. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup to your PC...please review the Backup link in my auto-sig on this post for instructions.

  • About Blackberry Curve 9380 Battery Warranty

    Hi,
    I have bought a BB Curve 9380 from Sharaf DG 4 U (Mirdiff Centre, UAE) dated 30-06-12. The phone is dead now as a result of a faulty Battery. I went to the Customer Service at Sharaf DG 4 U today and they are saying that there is no Blackberry warranty for Battery from the Manufacturer.
    Guys, kindly help me out in finding a solution for this. Is it true that the BB Customers are not eligible for 6 months Battery warranty??
    Looking forward to receive your opinions,
    Regards,

  • My Blackberry Curve 9380's screen won't turn on!

    My Blackberry Curve 9380's display screen won't turn on!  The flashing red light still appears so I guess I am still able to receive texts.  I can also receive calls; my ring tone goes off but I cannot answer!  I have to unlock it and I can't do anything on a touch screen that's virtually useless now.  I've done so many battery pulls yet it doesn't work.
    I did drop it but it wasn't very hard.  My bb fell when it was in my rubber case and the fall was around knee length (I am very short only 5'0).  My friend said its possible that the backlight broke.  If it is true, how much does it cost to repair it?  My warranty expired a few weeks ago...
    My friend also said there could be something else wrong with it.  Like a downloaded an app that had a corrupt file (this has happened to me before and the phrase "Uncaught exception java.lang.error" kept popping up every time I did a battery pull) or a programming error. I tried Jl_Cmder and I've done reset to factory.  I've even tried to wipe everything completely.  "The device will reboot to a white screen with a '507' error" this didn't happen... It did reboot but nothing can be seen.  I regret it deeply ...
    I'm sorry this is so long but please can someone help me? ):

    Ouch, that doesn't sound good. Even though it's out of warranty, you should check first with your mobile provider for a repair estimate.

    Hi and Welcome to the Community!
    From that description, it sounds like you are attempting to DL apps from AW via USB, using the PC/browser interface to AW. Please instead try the on-device AW client. If it works, that will help us understand what should be expected via other means.

    Hi ritikapal
    Welcome to the Community
    Sorry to hear about your problem but As you also known that this is just a user support forum ,here user like you and us try to help each other as much possible.
    On your Home screen Go to Options > Device > Application Management > Move your Trackpad  left or right on the screen to CPU USAGE... check which application(s) is using the CPU resorces.
    Regarding your device problem if anybody told you that BlackBerry are meant  only for calling I think he has a little knowledge about BlackBerry.Your device can handle much more application but it depends on the way we use it.pressing the menu key for a few second  will pop up a screen which will show all running programs in the background ,generally five will always there ( Home, BBM, Message,Phone , Browser ) look if any other apps. are running.
            Always try to Close Applications Correctly - Avoid using the End key to close applications as this simply minimizes the application and leaves it running in the background. Instead, press the Menu key, select the Close or Exit option to exit the application.If programs run in the background it will also lead to Battery drainage and also device hangs .Please have a look at this Article  :
      KB14320 How to maximize battery life and free memory on the BlackBerry smartphone .
    Try following those steps mentioned at the KB to see if your problem resolves.
    If problem presists try it by youself :
    1.Locate your Carrier and Download the OS you desire from here and Install it in your PC or Laptop Carriers
    (make sure you are downloading for the same model as you have )
    2. Download and install the latest BlackBerry desktop software from here BlackBerry desktop software
        Then if it allow  perform your backup of your device.
    3.Search your C: drive for Vendor.xml and delete them, there may be one or two vendor.xml ( On your Pc change your folders option to show hidden files/folders ) :
        C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
        C:\Users\Windows UserName\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
      4. Use BBSAK from  http://bbsak.org/   and wipe the device then after you get the error 507 ( no OS ) then proceed to next step.
    5. Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader. (For 64-bit Vista or Windows 7, the path       will be C: > Program Files x86 > Common Files > Research In Motion > AppLoader) double click Loader.exe.
