Skype for ipod...is it able to receive calls?

Does anyone know for sure that iPod touch can in fact receive calls from Skype app?

Okay, I found this out on Skype's site:
The Skype application must be started and signed in to receive incoming Skype calls and chats. If the application has been closed, incoming Skype calls cannot be received and chats will not be delivered.
So, can I leave my ipod logged in to Skype all the time? Will that drain my battery significantly?

How can I download SKYPE for Ipod Touch ? I Already have Apple ID but as I do not have any Credit Card, so i am unable to complrting review process.
Is there any other way to get SKYPE FOR IPOD TOUCH?

Not from your computer. You could get it via a friends computer that has it installed. You would have to sync from his computer and loose everything you have on your iPod. I suggest getting an inexpensive pre-paid debit card and use that.

skype for ipod touch ios 4.2.1 dowlouad

The iTunes app store now allows download of the last working vesrion of skype for your OS.
Please go to iTunes store FROM YOUR DEVICE and try to download skype - it will tell you that your OS is not compatible with the current version of skype and will ask you to allow download of the last compatible skype version - you allow that and you will have a skype version which works for your iPod touch.
    Hope this help

  • Skype for ipod touch 2nd generation

Hello, I am wondering if there is some way you can bring back skype for 2nd generation ipod touches.  I know a large portion of the ipod users have a 2nd generation ipod touch. It would make this large group of people happy. I know it used to work for this ipod, but then you updated the skype app. This would increase the number of app downloads significantly.

Hi, I also have a 2nd generation. Let me tell you what I did. When iTunes updates an app (at least in Windows), it moves the old app file to the trash can. I went to Apps Library in iTunes and I right clicked the Skype App and displayed the app info. In the info you can see the location in disc of the app file. Then I replaced the new app file with the app file from the trash can. The version that worked for me is 3.7.40. Don't forget that you can't update Skype again, at least until you change your iPod
Thanks for the advice, it worked!
Son has an ipod touch, FIRST gen.  I mean "old."  Found Skype 3.0.1 and he's up and running again.
    Steps:
    1.  Open your Recycle Bin and locate older versions of skype
    2.  Drag older versions to your desktop
    3.  Using File Manager, go to c:\Users\[UserName]\MyMusic\iTunes\iTunesMedia\Mobile Applications (yours may be different; this is mine)
    4.  Drag your newest version of skype to your Desktop
    5.  Drag the newest 'old version' of skype to the Mobile Applications folder
    6.  Double click the old version which is now in your Mobile Applications folder.  You will receive a warning message that you are overwriting another version.  Click ok.
    7.  Go to iTunes and try to install Skype on your device.  If it intalls, great.  If not, you need to repeat this process with an older 'older version.'
    8.  When you get it installed, you can delete the old version from you Mobile Applications and replace it with the newsest version.  iTunes will not update the ap on your old device because it knows it can't.  If you have multiple devices in the house, people with newer 'stuff' get the latest version.  People with older 'stuff' now have the older stuff.
    Good luck!
Takes a little fanigaling, but it can be done.

  • Agent being able to receive calls from 2 queues

I have UCCX 7.1 Express enhanced.  I have a request to add a queue for a new phone number to ring into.  My issue is that the agents that will be answering it are in 2 seperate queues now. So I have queue 1 and queue2 now and they would both need to be able to answer calls from the new queue 3. I believe I can do this somehow through skills and I have found some info from a 3X and 5X guide but nothing for 7.1
So I was thinking there must be a way to do this.
    Thank you

So thanks every one!! I was able to create a script with 3 seperate queue's in it.  Then I created the queue's with the skill sets I had created and then I assigned a Agent to 2 of the Skill sets and no Resource Group. I was able to call into both numbers and both showed up in my logged in Agent. I was wondering though if there is any way to make those queues show seperatly in the reporting window of the Agent under "Contact Service queue Statistics" drop down?

  • Skype for business unable to pick what device calls are trasfered to

Hi all Ever since the change from linc to SFB I no longer have any control over what device calls get transfered too. As an example I take an outside call caller needs to be transferred to my co-worker I try and transfer to my co-workers skype however it will always transfer to his/her mobile phone. This happens regardless of the settings my co-workers settings in skype. This is extremely frustrating as i have a few unhappy engineers giving me dirty looks when the calls go sometimes randomly to whatever device Skype sends a call too.  Please note I do not have access to Skype manager.

In Skype that can occur if the person is not online (or appears offline), so it forwards to their offline contact (phone number).   Since you have Skype for Business you should be contacting your admin or possibly finding a solution in the Office Community forums.  If you are the admin and are unable to find a solution, you should be putting in a request with Microsoft Office support.  http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=270873

  • HT201328 iPhone 4 able to receive calls but not make calls

    Hey,
I received a carrier unlock through AT&T. I restored my phone in itunes and received the "congratulation your iphone is now unlocked" message. I am currently living in Belgium and using the Mobistar network. I have bought several sim cards, and none of the sim cards will activate. I can receive calls but not place them. According to the mobostar representative, this is not even possible. I have restored the phone several times using different sim cards.
Is there potentially a problem with the phone itself? Everything is showing as if it should work, but I am unable to fix the problem - as well as the service provider here cannot.
    -Al

    Have you tried these two:
Toggle Airplane mode on and off. Wait five seconds between the on and off modes.
Reset Network Settings. Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

  • Not able to receive calls...and I've been on hold for 2 hours and 15 minutes with att

My Samsung Galaxy 5s will not receive any calls, I can text and call out but all incoming calls go to voicemail.. and no one at att customer service will take the call...I've been on hold for 2 hours and 15 minutes now and still holding. Does hours on hold with att count as minutes /phone usage ? Jk I know it does ...screwing me in both ends

Some people are being affected by network issues. The support line and live chat queues are being hammered with customers in similar situations.

  • FaceTime on MBP not able to receive calls only send

I have two MBP on my home network connected via wire and two iPads connecting wirelessly.  MBP1/iPad1 can make FT calls to MBP2/iPad2 (...both would ring simultaneously).  However, when MBP2/iPad2 tries to FT call, only iPad2 receives the inbound FT call.  MBP2 does not receive it.  Is there something in MBP2 (some setting) that's allowing it to make outgoing calls but "blocking" incoming calls?
    Gabriel

    Hi GabrielNYC69,
To troubleshoot this issue where one of your Macs is unable to receive a FaceTime call, please follow the steps outlined below.
    Troubleshooting FaceTime for Mac
You can make FaceTime calls using the FaceTime app. You can call FaceTime users whose contact information is in Contacts. You can add contacts and edit contact information in either FaceTime or Contacts. To place a video call, you may use a phone number or email address.
If you encounter issues making or receiving FaceTime calls, try the following:
Verify that FaceTime is enabled in FaceTime > Preferences. If the issue persists, or if you see the message "Waiting for Activation", try toggling FaceTime off and then on.
Verify that the Date, Time, and Time Zone are set correctly:
From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences > Date & Time > Date & Time.
    Enable "Set Automatically".
Click the Time Zone tab and confirm the closest city is correct.
Verify that both parties are connected to an active broadband Internet connection.
See Mac OS X: Troubleshooting a cable modem, DSL, or LAN Internet connection.
Consult Using FaceTime behind a firewall for necessary ports to open in firewalls, security software and routers.
If you encounter issues using a Wi-Fi network, use standard Wi-Fi network troubleshooting to resolve interference and other issues.
Verify the phone number or email address being used is the correct one activated for FaceTime. You can verify that you are using a valid Apple ID at appleid.apple.com. You can also create an Apple ID or reset your password from this website.
Verify that both parties have installed the latest software updates for their Mac and/or device. See:
Mac OS X: Updating your software
iOS: How to update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

Got in touch with Apple support and got it resolved by 'resetting all settings' and setting up the iPhone again.
