OMG this is user to user forum I am sure you were told about this a million times, so you might or might not get an answer from users that carry a 'green' hat by their name. if you want it for sure then contact Nokia care either in person or via 'contact us' button option on top of this page!!!!!!! your oblivion speaks for itself
and just to be sure xpress music(Nokia 5630xpm) line is nowhere near in the same zip code as the e series and communicators.
You know what I love about you the most, the fact that you are not me ! In love with technology and all that it can offer. Join me in discovery....

Skype for Business Android client (feature request)
Hi, I assume that the Mobile version of Skype for Business client is due out soon to replace Lync 2013 client, one thing i really wish would be added is the ability to send files to mobile clients. Surely this isnt a big technical problem as the Windows clients already do this so surely this could be added to the mobile clients. Having this feature would really make life so much better for our small business as we could send out documents to our engineers instead of emailing them. Doing this via S4B would immediately notify the engineers of the msg and then it would allow quick and easy 2 way msging between the office and engineers. I really cant see why this feature wasnt in Lync 2013? Also is there any news of an ETA for Skype for business mobile clients? Thanks JK
Hi,
I have recorded this request and thank you for your advice. Currently I can't guarantee this will be added, but please be assured that any improvements in the product are based on users' requirements. Our developers strive to capture Microsoft users' ideas
and are working hard to create a more powerful and easy-to-use product.

New to Java. Want to write a simple applet for a mobile phone.
Hello,
I want to write a simple java applet for a mobile phone. currently I am in the stage of thinking about whether this is possible in a timeframe of about a month. I have very little java experience from a while back so I'm pretty much starting from scratch.
All I want is an applet that lets you send 2 or 3 variables to an online server. The server will then reposition telescopes.
All i'm concerned with is the mobile phone part, which doesn't have to be secure or impressive. Just a simple interface.
Ideally it should work on my nokia 6070, which occording to the official specs has the following java technology:
MIDP 2.0
CLDC 1.1
JSR 120 Wireless Messaging API
JSR 135 Mobile Media API
Nokia UI API
(I don't know what any of this means but am a good learner).
Can anyone offer me any advice? Is this possible in my timeframe? where should I start? I need a editor and compiler also (I'm using windows XP).
Many thanks and kind regards,
JasonActually it is working on my phone now.
I changed the target platform in the wireless toolkit settings to MIDP 1.0
Now to create the fields coordinate fields etc. I don't have much of a clue really.
Current I have:
import java.io.*;
import javax.microedition.lcdui.*;
import javax.microedition.midlet.*;
public class AtmosMIDlet extends MIDlet implements CommandListener
Form WelcomeForm = new Form("AtmosMIDlet");
StringItem WelcomeMes = new StringItem(null, "Please enter coordinates:");
TextField Longitude = new TextField("Longitude", "", 3, TextField.NUMERIC);
TextField Lattitude = new TextField("Lattitude", "", 3, TextField.NUMERIC);
public AtmosMIDlet()
try
ImageItem logo = new ImageItem(Image.createImage("/logo.png"));
WelcomeForm.append(logo);
catch (java.io.IOException x)
throw new RuntimeException ("Image not found");
WelcomeForm.append(WelcomeMes);
WelcomeForm.append(Longitude);
WelcomeForm.append(Lattitude);
WelcomeForm.addCommand(new Command("Exit", Command.EXIT, 0));
WelcomeForm.setCommandListener(this);
public void startApp()
Display.getDisplay(this).setCurrent(WelcomeForm);
public void pauseApp() {}
public void destroyApp(boolean unconditional) {}
public void commandAction(Command c, Displayable s)
notifyDestroyed();
I'm trying to get the image logo.png to display at the top but I get the error:
C:\WTK25\apps\AtmosSpec\src\AtmosMIDlet.java:19: cannot find symbol
symbol : constructor ImageItem(javax.microedition.lcdui.Image)
location: class javax.microedition.lcdui.ImageItem
ImageItem logo = new ImageItem(Image.createImage("/logo.png"));

When I try to build.. Any help would be great.
Ideally the image would be on a seperate screen for a couple of seconds. -

Is new Windows Mobile VM for Java ME in new SDK 3.0 for common users?
Hi,
There are bunch of buggy VMs for WM Platform such as Esmertec JBED, Esmertec JBLEND, IBM J9 etc. They have lot of bugs and they don't support neccessary JSRs. Now I have read about Windows Mobile integration in new SDK 3.0 EA for Java ME - I undestand that there is a new VM for WM from Sun, is that right? But when I installed CAB version, it seams it is just for on-device debugging with connected Wireless Toolkit on PC. I can't launch midlets located in my WM device on it. Is there also VM for common users? So they could install virtual machine and then install their midlets? I think many developers and users would apreciate it. Or is it at least in plan to release such VM?Jackson_Bill wrote:

Go to Solution.Hi and welcome to the Skype Community,
Unfortunately there is no Skype application for the "Series 40 Asha Touch" operating system and devices building on it. You can have a look at Skype To Go to make use of the Skype calling rates while on the go though.
If you are looking for a low cost Skype enabled phones have a look at the Nokia Lumia series starting from 520 via 620 to 720.

Sample JAVA Mobile Server Publish code, and technical questions
Dear Oracle technical representative, or user:
I need to programmatically create, and remove publications using the pure JAVA classes of Consolidator, ConsolidatorManager, and ResourceManager for the Mobile Server in OracleLite 9i Release 5.0.1. On the creation side I have managed to get the example found in the directory OraLite501\Mobile\Server\Sample\Sample11 functioning using my installation parameters. I had a very difficult time of it because (1) the sample11 code fails to open an jdbc connection to the Mobile Server Repository Schema with the function Consolidator.OpenConnection, and (2) the ResourceManager function openConnection will not work unless the Webtogo.ora file is in the current working directory. The ConsolidatorManager function OpenConnection may also not work unless the Webtogo.ora file is in the current working directory, but I did test the hypothesis. Both of these problems need to be addressed in the sample11 code, and documentation to save other software developers from wasting hours of their valuable time. See line 223, 386, and 448 in the Publish.Java code that follows this problem description.
With the above two problems resolved, I can now programmatically create publications, but no hints on how to programmatically remove a publication exist in the documentation. The application I am developing will require the dynamic creation, and removal of publications. Also, when developing applications the complete removal of a publication is absolutely necessary when you have botched a publication. Thus my first question is What sequence of ResourceManager, and ConsolidatorManager function calls will completely remove a Publication?.
I also have two issues remaining with the code that I have so far developed. These issues will most likely be resolved, when I obtain instructions on how to completely remove a publication, and associated users. But, perhaps not. Referencing the Publish.java file that follows this problem description,
1. The ResourceManager function dropUser does not drop a user. See my comments, and code beginning at line 277 in Publish.java. Do I need to de-instantiate all subscriptions, and unsubscribe all subscription users before calling this function.? I think, I tried the de-instantiate, unsubscribe sequence without success, but in the confusion I may not have made the try.
2. How do I get rid of an index created with the ConsolidatorManager function DropPublicationItemIndex?. My comments on this problem begin at line 522 in Publish.java. For some reason the DropPublicationItemIndex function call made below line 448 does not work. What function calls are required prior to calling the DropPublicationItemIndex function?
Throughout the Publish.java code, I have made comments about some of the problems that I have had in getting the sample11 code working for my installation parameters. I think these comments should help the programmers maintaining the ResourceManager, and ConsolidatorManager code improve the stability of the programs. Please pass these comments, and attached files to the appropriate individuals,
if you are in a position to do so.
The other files that follow the Publish.java code are
1. Compile.bat - Compiles Publish.java using j2sdk1.4.0.
2. Run.bat - Executes Publish using \ j2sdk1.4.0\jre\server\jvm.dll.
3. Webtogo.ora
4. tnsnames.ora for the Mobile Server.
5. tnsnames.ora for the Database.
Feel free to access my server if you need to do so in resolving my problems. The parameters you will need to gain access can be found at the top of Publish.java, and in the included *.ora files.
Thanks,
Thomas G. Matney

End Database tnsnames.ora fileDear Oracle technical representative, or user:
Thanks,
Thomas G. Matney
