Skype for Outlook Toolbar

Hello I am using windows 7 32bit with outlook 2010 w/ skype toolbar installed and the new skype for desktop. I like the skype integration with outlook, they only problem im having is that the skype toolbar will have come up very large on the right side of every contact and message window that I open and cover up much of the information i need to read. Even if i close the toolbar manually within the message or contact, the next time i open it the toolbar is back. Is there a way to keep the skype itegration but hide to toolbar from showing?

  • Skype For Business - Outlook Signature

    Hi,
So now we have Skype For Business which is all well and good, but how exactly do I add a hyperlink for chat to an image in my outlook email signature. It would be nice for someone who I perhaps hadn't engaged with before to be able to start a chat instantanously after recieving an email. Unfortunately I can't find out how to do this.
    Any help?
    Thanks.

Same problem here until i use skype enterprise....
In my personnal skype i can use this shortcode: skype:username?add
But with the Skype enterprise NOT...whatswrong?

  • How do I turn off skype for web (beta) when I log-in to my outlook email

I've noticed in the past couple of days that when I log-in to my outlook email page that it shows the new 'skype for web (beta) icon at the top right of the messenger pane instead of the old message link.  How do I  turn this off and go back to the old version as I don't like the new skype for web and much prefer the old style message pane?  I have noted that when I open my People page or OneDrive page that the old version still shows there, so why can't I turn it off in my email page and go back to the original pane? I would appreciate some help and advice on this.  Thanks.

Hi Claudius,, Thanks for replying.  You asked what I preferred about the old message pane.  I just preferred how it looked.  You could see automatically from your contact list who was online as the call/video icons showed clearly beside their name and if you simply wanted to send an IM, you just selected the contact and the IM box would appear at the bottom.  I just don't like how the new skype for web looks at the side of your Outlook email page as I don't like the layout.  I know it all comes down to personal preference and mine is for the old version.  I don't understand why they have to keep making changes to things.  The way I see it is, if something isn't broke, why break it?  The old version worked perfectly well and I preferred it but we, the users, don't get a say in anything because the people who make these decisions just go ahead and change things no matter what. Thanks for clearing this up for me.  I had hoped you could just turn it off and revert back to the old message pane but you say this isn't possible which is unfortunate. Regards, Linda

  • After Skype for Business: Meeting Options set in Outlook are not used in the Meetings

    Hi everyone,
after the Update from Lync 2013 to the Skype for Business 2015 Client, I noticed that the Meeting Options you can set within Outlook (for example who needs to wait in the waiting room, is not used in the actual meeting.
Although the settings are persistent within Outlook, for every Meeting I currently must make sure that I am starting it before everyone else and set the same settings again within the meeting with the SfB Client.
Can someone confirm this behaviour? If yes, is this already known and a fix under way? Especially when you invite externals, sometimes I appreciate it if I need to approve them to pull them into the actual meeting instead of everyone just joining in midst
conversation or while you are preparing something.

    Hi,
Would you please elaborate the "actual meeting" (Meet Now?)?
If you mean actual meeting to be Meet Now, it is the normal situation. The SFB meeting options set on Outlook will not affect the setting by Meet Now. You need to set the meeting option through SFB client when creating a "Meet Now" meeting.

  • Requests to improve Skype for Web

Hello everyone. Skype for Web (Beta) seems quite decent for the time being.BUT! I got two requests for this, and I do hope it'll be seriously considered and fixed by the team in a short time: Skype for Web Beta propose a Chrome plugin when being used from Opera. Please propose a simpler way for Opera 15+ users to install the plugin (so that newcomers using this browser won't have a "hard" time figuring out how to do so).Skype for Web Beta, Skype Modern and Skype from Outlook share the same issue: We can't change our status to Busy or Away. Is it so hard to provide them? Please add them :/ Otherwise, it can be useful, so thanks for your hard work anyway, and have a good day everyone.

I would check the web skype historic somewhere in the c: the machine eg in the folder " % temp % " for the company to use the skype app just that some older machines are complaining of memory because it is very heavy for them ... one of the fulga options that I found was the web skype but the only problem I found was that there's no way we monitor the message traffic as we made already ...

  • Skype for business for Office 365

    Hi Team,
I need to upgrade my current Lync 2013 to Skype for business and as per information i got an update released by Microsoft KB2889923 ... this is used to upgrade Lync 2013 to skype for business.......but in case of Office 365 this update dosent seems to work......
so i wanted to know if there is any other update or package or any other way to upgrade office 365 Lync.

    Hi,
    Please check out this thread
    http://community.office365.com/en-us/f/172/t/345370.aspx
“Q2. Where can I download Skype for Business since it does not appear to be included with the Office365 download file? ====================== A2. You need to manually update your Office application,
then you will be able to upgrade to Skype for Business. You can to do this on your Outlook client: Open your Outlook client ->
    FILE ->
    Office Account ->
    Apply updates”
And this issue is more related to Office 365 application, we would like to give a hand, but we are not the specialists in this filed. Thanks
    for your understanding.

  • Skype for Business to land line

    Hi,
Here is a quick question. I understand I can call USA/Canada land lines for free via Skype consumer, but how does it work using Skype for business? Are those calls also free? where can I find rates for other countries?
    cheers

    Just to add to this:
If it's just the UI you can also set this through Set-CsClientPolicy.
    Set-CsClientPolicy -Identity Global -EnableSkypeUI $false
    https://technet.microsoft.com/library/dn954919.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
However, using this method, some things are still Skype branded (i.e the meeting add-in in Outlook will say "New Skype Meeting") but the UI will now be back at Lync 2013.

  • Skype for Business Client update

    Hi,
First of all let me get this out of the way "Microsoft Office 365 support sucks".
    now the simple question:
If office proplus is installed via portal (through on-click run), how does it get the update for skype for business?
I have over 1000 users and its not feasible to run the updates via an office application on each machine.
(Note: getting update does not mean UI change. it simply means the client is updated and ready to accept the UI once it is allowed via csclientpolicy in a update Lync server environment).
(Note 2: the useless O365 support says it will come through windows updates; I have done multiple tests on different test machines and that is not correct. Another technet says office proplus updates are done through scheduled tasks. Even if the office automatic
update task runs, the client does not get updated with new Skype for Business.)

    Hi Atif7865,

  • "Skype for business" Confusing meeting invitation

When I create a new online Meeting in Outlook Calendar with the Skype for Business client , it Automatically set meeting location as "Skype" and a url to click to "Join Skype Meeting". This is very confusing for
both internal and external users. People saying that they don't have Skype installed on their computers and don't have a Skype account. External users asks if we can host the Meeting on their GoToMeeting solution instead.
I hope there is a possibility to change the template or that Microsoft comes With a hotfix for this. The best would be if we could modify the text. If not, at least release a quick fix that adds "business" in the Location and "Join Skype
    Meeting"
At the moment we have to manually change the location to Lync Meeting, and the url to "Join Lync Meeting" like it was before.
    This is very frustrating

    Hi,
    Agree with ANthony Caragol.
I test the issue on my Lync environment, even I return the Skype For Business UI back to Lync UI, then restart Lync and Outlook, the Lync Meeting Add-in still show "Skype Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office 2013".
So now the workaround is to change it to "Join Lync meeting" manually.

  • "Attach as adobe pdf" outlook toolbar

I'm running Outlook 2003 with Win XP and had the "attach as

remove instructions (e.g., moving registry values to 2 (I left it
at 3), reinstalling it, etc.) but nothing has worked. It was there
yesterday and gone today. Any help to get it back would be

Yes. All I get is Acrobat Connect and Acrobat PDFmaker 8.0 as

  • Skype for Modern Windows and Skype for Windows Desktop on a tablet???

Hi All. I am a newby here so please be patient I have a 6 month old Toshiba Encore that comes installed with "Skype for Modern Windows". When I opened Skype today I received an advice/advert saying that this service will cease July 7 and I should uninstall and update to "Skype for Windows Desktop". News flash.... I have a tablet and it is telling me to install a Desktop version? Is this correct, dispite that my device is a (Windows 8.1) OS tablet, am I still required to make the conversion? Any advice most appreciated.

And just in case your next question is "Why". I am just a user like you so no inside knowledge but from what I have read it is partly down to the "Modern" version actually being based on "Old" tech, so it couldn't intergrate with the cloud based future of Skype and partly down to it isn't probably worth fixing (It had a lot of issues that I could see). Unfortunatly for some it is a bit inconvenient that it's being killed off before Windows 10 is released. The one thing I liked about the "Modern" version was the intergration with for example your contacts in the people app, but if you uninstall (Or when it gets killed off in a couple of weeks) you lose that intergration. I know you still have it in Outlook with intergration for the desktop version but to be honest Outlook isn't great on a seven inch tablet either. From my understanding when 10 is finally here and Skype catches up there will be full Skype intergration with your contacts again (Although I could be wrong and that is for the WP). Anyway, I for one would love MS to consider the universal app idea based on the WP version for smaller or all tablets. Maybe someone from Skype will reply?
