Skype Freezes during calls

For some reason my system freezes whenever skype goes to call. A friend will call or I will atempt a call and as soon as it connects, skype causes my system to freeze. It will freeze just as the call connects. I've tried uninstalling skype and re-installing and nothing seems to work. It worked previously with my current webcam and older versions of skype and I HAVE made sure AMD is set at default. I also regularly run CCLeaner and avast, and I'm running Win7.
Attached is my Dxdiag which seems to show everything has checked out.

  • My BB Curve Keeps Freezing During Calls

Help please, does anyone know why my BB keeps freezing during calls?

    Hi there,
First check two setting within your device :
On your Homescreen go to Options > Device > Storage > Make sure " Enable Compression " is UNchecked or UNmarked .
Homescreen > Options > Security > Advanced Security Setting > Memory Cleaner > Br sure it is Disabled .
Then Check again , But if you already have those setting as I suggested then Boot your device on Safe Mode :
KB17877 : How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode
On Safe Mode don't try to Click or run any application , Just make a few phone calls to see if your device freezes again, If freezing cease then those freezing issues are caused by any of your Installed 3rd party applications . All you can do is delete one application at a time then reboot and check unless you find the original culprit responsible for this issue .

  • Skype freezes during video call, no issue with har...

    Hi All,
I have recently been set to the task to figure out why everyone around me cannot skype a video call longer than approx. 2mins without the feed freezing, going black, or turning to static.
I have read almost all the forums in the community on video freezing and have tried all listed options.
I have throughly checked all of mine and others laptops hardware for functionality and nothing is wrong.
It is running Windows 8.1 and has all Windows updates, software and firmware updates.
It seems many people are crying for an answer for this and reverting to an old version of Skype is no longer possible.
Ideas??? ***Please do not reply with: reinstall your driver or test your camera to see if it freezes in other programs. This has been done. This is not a computer model/operating system specific issue and I see it as a skype issue.

  • Webcam Freezes during call

Hi, I hope someone can help me here.
I have an HP probook 6565b.
What happens to me is that after a few seconds of transmitting video, my webcam freezes and stops transmitting leaving a still image of me up there. I can turn off the video and turn it back on. It starts to work again for a few seconds and freezes once again.
The funny thing is that I can see my webcam video fine if Im not in a call under the tools-otions-video menu.
Ive tried updating my audio and video drivers as well as uninstallnig skype and trying an older version. Right now im using 5.6.0.110
I appreciate any ideas to fix this
    Thanks

Have you checked to see if there's an updated driver for your webcam from Asus?
Do the specs on your built in webcam say it's supposed to do HD?
Any chance you may have or be able to borrow an external USB webcam to plug in to a USB port and try as a troubleshooting step?
The symptoms you're experiencing seem strange and I'm trying to come up with a way to pin down where the problem actually lies.

  • Video freezes during call

    Hi,
Hoping you can help. I have a fairly new computer, with plenty of space on it (Windows 7m core i7, 4gb) and live in japan with superfast unlimited fibre optic, i think about 300mbs/second- or something like that.
When I make calls to other people, the video works for a little while (Sometimes 5 mins, sometimes 30mins) but sooner or later it ends up freezing on their end (I can see fine).  I have this problem with more than one skyper user, so I assume the problem is on my end.
I have tried uninstalling and re-installing skype, but it still does freezes on the other person's end. Receiving video is fine on my end though, and other aspects of call quality are good.
Any help you can provide will be most appreciated.
    Thank you.

  • 8330 freezes during call and must pull battery to reboot

    Hi there,
It's happened about 10 times now... while checking voicemail or being on a call, the phone locks up so that there is no response from pushing buttons. A battery pull is the only solution, but it's temporary and a painful way to end phone calls.
Only other symptoms seem to be a bit of lag when sending/receiving data. But I think that's normal.
Device software is 4.3... thinking of backing up the device and doing a reinstall... upgrading the OS to latest.
Also, it has an extra sim card in it as well that's full of music.
    Any ideas... thanks,
    Greg

If you are experiencing a similar problem and have stumbled across this forum posting, I can now report the cause and fix for this 'problem'. In my BlackBerry Settings for Accessibility, the function named Magnify Mode was switched to on. I must have activated this when playing with my phone during set-up (seemed like a good idea at the time). Switching Magnify Mode off completely solved the problem. Luckily I don't have a disability, but perhaps BlackBerry could look to improve this function so the disabled persons with Magnify Mode activated do not experience the issues I did with the device freezing due to (inadvertent) magnify during phone calls.

  • Voice keeps freezing during call

I talking with my friend, and as soon as I open a few more pages (browser) to load my voice starts to lag .... then my friend can not hear me ... usually it during about 10 seconds and later once more .... and so on all over again ... but the most interesting thing is that I have a problem only with 7.x versions. In the 6.0 is all right. please help! or fix it in new versions
(ps. It also happens when I play a higher game (minecraft) )
    Skype version (latest): 7.4.0.102
    OS: Windows 7 64bit
    Processor: AMD Sempron Le-1250
    RAM: 3GB

Try hooking your PP up to a computer and connect to BlackBerry link.
On Link in the upper right corner select preferences.
In there you'll see an option to reload OS.
Reload the OS. It doesn't erase anything. It just reloads the OS.

  • FaceTime freezes during call...

When using FaceTime,  it freezes, then returns to real time.   Is this just a buffering issue?
If so, is there anything I can do to improve it?

I have a Cisco WRVS4400N WiFi router on both ends of my Facetime calls.
One is version 1.3 firmware the other is version 2
Version 1.3 router crashed EVERY SINGLE TIME I use face time.
Version 2 firmware does not crash.
I have done all of the recommended things like opening ports with no success.
I even located my Iphones under Settings / WiFi settings on the Iphone and put that IP address on DMZ (essentially putting the Iphone on the outside of the router firewall)
    NOTHING FIXES THIS PROBLEM!
I have boiled this down to 3 possibilities.
    1.  Iphone sends some commands through the router that cause it to hang.
    2.  My ISP blocks my service when they see my Iphone FaceTime traffic (if they do that they are in BIG trouble)
    3.  The router sends some data to the Iphone that makes it go berserk.
At a very minimum CISCO and Apple need to get on the phone with each other to sort this out. They are BOTH getting a black eye over this.
I am talking to my ISP to make sure they don't block Facetime traffic. BTW, most IPSs block outbound port 80 traffic. (Yeah, that's a dirty little secret. ISPs don't want you to host a website on your home service.)
Port 80 is the port where web traffic goes. (anything with a http:// in the address)
It did not happen until Ios 5.1

  • Iphone 3gs keeps freezing during calls

I have just received a replacement iphone 3GS running version 4.3.2 software. This was a replacement from Apple just over a week ago. This new phone keeps freezing and returning to the apple start screen approx. 5mins into phone calls.
    Can anyone help please

    Hey,
Hold the lock button/ Home button until the apple logo appears this is a hard reset, no data will be lost.
    If that fails,
Update the iPhone in iTunes to iOS 4.3.3
    Jason

  • My iPhone keeps freezing during calls

Its been getting worse. Every call I am on, the phone goes silent & neither myself or the other person can hear anything at all, it does come back sometimes. Other times it shows call failed. My phone is now out of warranty too. Can you also give me a rough idea of a cost to get it looked at? Can I go to a genius bar & get a quote?

Apple doesn't repair or service iPhones - only replaces them with refurb units.  An out of warranty replacement for an iPhone 4 is $149 in the USA.

  • 5800XM freezes during the call

    Hi,
I have had 2 times issue that phone screen freezes during call. No keys helped, but ON/OFFswitch. Updated to last version of v40.0.005.
Don't remember the exact conditions or sequece of actions, just got unpleasant case.
I noticed also that batteryindicator showed 1 stripe of battery. After restart , the battery was full.  Is this expected action for this phone?  Should Itake it back to service?
My phone is used ~1 week, so there can't be any issues caused by wrong usage.

It's verry tempting to make you do a soft reset as it often clear out glitches, but it might as well be a faulty fw install, sou you will need to reflash.
When did the issues occure? -After installing some apps, or doing something with the simcard, memorycard etc?
It's likely that a nokia care point would just reflash and reset it, so you could do that your self.
Back up your content with pc suite and diall *#7370# and security code 12345. Then perform a format of the memorycard (back up music and pics if you have any) . Maybe go for a reflash to if you have the possibility.
If this does not help, and it freezes more often - you should take it to a Nokia care point and tell them what you have done, and let them look at it. Might be a faulty memorycard, but it could be something else that's hard to know about - especially for us who cannot see the phone.

  • Skype click-to-call isn't being installed during t...

I got a notification to upgrade my skype so I clicked it and followed the steps but near the end, it said that 'Skype click-to-call' isn't being installed, during the upgrade. What's happening?

Hi, Acirrek_7, and welcome to the Community,
Sometimes it takes a few days to a few weeks for Skype to catch up in releasing Click-to-Call updates when browsers send updates.  I had this same experience when I recently updated FireFox.  Also, check your browser add-on's/extensions; I can't remember if it was Chrome or FireFox where I had to enable the extension for Click-to-Call.
    Kind regards,
    Elaine

My iPad Air always freezes during FaceTime calls using wifi. I switch to my iPhone 5c on the same wifi, and it never freezes while I'm sitting in the same location. Is there maybe a setting I have that is causes this? I am up to date on the OS 7.1.1. Video and audio is froze on my end, only video freezes on the other end. It doesn't make a difference who makes the call either.

No, there isn't any setting that you are missing. Have you tried force closing FaceTime, and resetting your iPad?
In order to close FaceTime, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that does not make a difference, you could try resetting all settings, if you reset all settings you will have to enter all of the device preferences again in the settings app. That takes some time to accomplish, but you will not lose my data, media, apps or anything like that. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings.
If that doesn't help, the next step would be to restore the iOS software. Backup your iPad first, restore the iOS, then restore the backup.
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings
