Skype freezes my Computer when I enter a call

Hello. I have recently gotten a new desktop for my birthday. It was Windows 8.1 installed. When i went to use the skype app on the home screen I was redirected to get the new update, so I did. I used skype for that day a bit and everything seemed great. All of a sudden when i was talking to my friend my comouter screen froze and i couldnt move my mouse or do anything but yet i could still hear him and him me. I had to unplug my computers powersource to get it to stop. When i turned on my PC again and he called me on skype I answered just thinking that it was some weird bug, but as soon as I joined the call the area displaying his profile picture and the call time was all grey, and seconds later the same thing happened with the freeze. This is very frustrating because i cannot find a fix for this anywere. Any help woulkd be greatly appreciated because I enjoy using skype quite a bit. Thanks.

When I'm in a skype CALL and playing wow, my computer freezes many times ranging from 5-20 seconds.
If I'm on skype, in a skype call playing any other game besides WOW my computer does perfectly fine.
If I'm on any other voice communication program besides skype and playing wow then my computer does just fine.
But only when i'm in a skype CALL and playing wow at the same time my wow freezes, my skype freezes, my audio whatever may be playing at the time freezes and stops continueing to play.

  • Adobe Reader XI freezes my computer when I try to print

I cannot print any pdf files.  I am running Windows 7 and when I open Adobe Reader XI and try to print a pdf, I get the print dialog box just fine but then when I click "Print," the dialog box comes up to show print progress and at that point everything freezes.  I am printing to a wireless printer HP Deskjet 6980.  I can't even get Ctl-Alt-delete to get me to Task Manager so I have to hold down the power button and I don't like having to shut down that way.

I have been having the same problem for weeks.  I am using Windows 7, Mozilla 33.0.3, and Adobe Reader version XI.0.09.  I saw some advice on another site that I relied on in resolving this.  You need to open the Reader, to to Edit, click on Preferences.  On the Left Hand menu, find "Security (Enhanced)" and open it. If "Enable Protected Mode at Start-up" is active, disable that.  "Enhanced Security" is likely already enabled (and you want to leave that on); if not, enable it.
Under "Privileged Locations," make sure both options (Trust documents/Trust sites) are enabled.  Then open the box entitled "View Windows Trusted Sites."  This will take you to the browser's Security Tab.  Click the green arrow "Trusted Sites" and then the "Sites" tab that appears.  Add the relevant https://.***.com site from which you wish to be able to print *.pdfs.  (Note: It is very important the you make sure to include the secure site, i.e., https..., and not the initial www.***.com site from which you may access the secure site).  After you have added the secure address, click Add, then Close the window.  Make sure then to Click "OK" to close the Security Tab, and then scroll down to the bottom of the "Security (Enhanced)" page to which you will be returned and click OK there.  Close the Adobe Reader and any other Reader windows you may have open.
You can now go to the secure site whose address you just entered, and download the .pdf you want.  (If you have already downloaded the .pdf on your computer from that site you can now just open it instead).  Send the print command for the pages of the .pdf page you want.  The system will hang for a few seconds (at least mine did), but then it prints.
You may be able to go directly to the Security Tab in your browser and enter the secure site in question without going through a pdf document and it will also work but I do not know that for sure.
Finally, I am not an expert; just another user who figured this out with a little help from others.  An expert may wish to comment further on what I have written above to provide further guidance or instruction.
    Good luck.
Later Note:  It is possible to add a non-secure site from which you want to download and open .pdfs to the Trusted Site list.  To do this, uncheck the "Require server verification (https://) for all sites in this zone" box that appears under the listed of Trusted Sites.  As I am not an expert user I do not know if doing this represents a significant security issue but I at least do not find that is the case after running a cursory search online.

Hi, and welcome to the community!
Make sure your Skype version is up to date. Have you tried a clean reinstallation of Skype?
You can also try resetting your internet explorer settings.
Does it work if your Antivirus and Firewall are disabled?
If none of that works, please run the DirectX Diagnostics tool (DxDiag.exe). Click Save all information to save it to a text file. Please then zip the file and post it here.

  • Ipod 4g doesn't charge/connect to computer, but freezes the computer when plugged in.

As stated already, when i plug my ipod 4th gen. into my computer no charge sign appears on the upper right battery life. After about 5 seconds my computer then completely freezes, no mouse movement, can't cnt-alt-delete ect. i have tried all the open ports on the computer to no avail. I thought at first it was just a bad usb cable, but when i connect my ipod to my x box 360 it charges, so i presume it's not that. I've seen solutions to reset and are aware of how to do it, but after entering my password to reset it then asks for another password, i've tried every password i can think of but none were accepted for the second passcode, leaving me with 13 attempts and and hour inbetween attemps hence forth. any ideas or suggestions are much appriciated.
PS. both ipod and computer are up to date

With Restrictions you can prevent suers for doing some task like purchasing items. See:
    iOS: Understanding Restrictions
If you forgot your Restrictions passcode or do no know it if one somehow got assigned, then:
    - Restore from a backup that was make before you added the Restrictions passcode. If you restore from a backup made with the Restrictions passcode the Restrictions passcode is also restored.
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - If you are up to it see:
How to reset forgotten Restrictions...: Apple Support Communities
How to reset forgotten Restrictions...: Apple Support Communities
If you just restore from a backup that has the passcode the passcode is also restored.

  • Itunes freezes my computer when I open it...

I just bought my first ipod a few weeks back. I downloaded itunes and moved all of the music off of my computer onto my itunes, then synced it to my ipod.
Now, when I try to open itunes - it opens but then freezes. It keeps saying it's analyzing my songs, but it never finishes!
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling itunes, however whenever I redownload it, it pulls up with all the same music and does the same thing. I'm starting to go nuts, I just want to add more music to my ipod!
    Help?

Put your ipod into disk mode to restore it:
    Reset (Menu + Centre Button)
As it is resetting (when the screen goes blank) quickly hold down the Play and Centre buttons until your ipod tells you it is disk mode (indicated by a tick on the screen)
Plug your ipod in a Mac or a PC, eventually it will pick it up with iTunes and request a restore.
Never plug out an iPod if it has not been ejected.

  • Acrobat 9.1.3 freezes my computer when I try to send an e-mail with a PDF attachment

Whenever I have a PDF open and want to send it to anyone via e-mail by clicking on the mail icon in the tool bar, it will open MS Outlook (2003) just fine. I can type whatever message I like and everything seems OK. The problem comes in when I press the "Send" button from Outlook. I get an error message and my computer completely freezes for about 10-15 minutes unless I shut it down before then. This just started happening recently--maybe a few months ago. I have Windows Professional XP and MS Office 2003, as well as Adobe 9.0 Pro (with the updates installed as they became available). I don't know why this is suddenly happening but it is quite maddening. It seems I can only send a PDF by first opening a blank e-mail message and then attaching the PDF, so the convenience of e-mailing a document through Acrobat seems to be a thing of the past. Has anyone else out there experienced this? There were way too many discussions for me to read through, so I'm creating my own here. If anyone can help, I'm open to any ideas or suggestions. Thanks very much.

I have the same issue and I'm trying to access the link provided for the AOL Community Support. I was able to type my question, but it keeps asking me to provide my date of birth, gender, and my name (for verification purposes). After filling out that little box multiple times, my question has still not been posted to the forum. Also, I was able to use Google Chrome to send email attachments through AOL with no problems.

  • Premiere Pro freezes my computer when I launch it (before was ok) [CS6]

This is a brand new problem and everything was ok for few years
I have a Win7 computer working perfectly fine
Yesterday I tried to launch premiere and each my computer was frozen. I had to do a hrad boot and tried again (3 times).
Then I uninstalled premiere pro, logged off and on to reinstall it again.
    Same problem again
Anybody can help me? is there a log to help pin pointing the bottleneck?
Thanks a lot for your help. THis is really quite a frustration for me.

A full system freeze (which sometimes results in a "blue screen of death") is typically caused by faulty hardware or a bad driver. As a general rule, a program cannot directly cause the whole computer to freeze. Where a program can come in is that it calls upon a piece of hardware to perform some action, thereby effectively tipping over the first domino that eventually culminates in the system-wide hang. If you're hitting a true system freeze, then this article might be a good place to start troubleshooting: Microsoft Windows Error Reporting
It's also possible that what you're hitting is not a full-blown hang but rather a case where resource usage is pushed so hard that little if any bandwidth remains for the computer to do anything else. To see if this is the case, I recommend opening Task Manager & shrinking the Premiere Window so both windows are visible. Then when the system freezes, observe the resource usage. If Premiere's memory usage or CPU usage spikes to near 100%, then the program is likely the culprit.

  • Why does Firefox freeze my computer when I click on an email address or link to a page that asks for contact information?

  • Safari Freezes Entire Computer When visiting ESPN or TSN (i.e. Flash)

My new Macbook Pro freezes frequently when I visit flash intensive sites such as ESPN or TSN. I try to force quit but the window does not pop up. I then have to shut down manually. I have done this 6 times in one month now. Is this bad for the computer? Why is this happening? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Dave

    Hi Dave,
You can "force quit" an application without having to shut down your Mac.
Go to your Applications folder then open the Utilities folder. Open the *Activity Monitor* application.
From the pop up on the right select: *My Processes*
Select Safari then click the red *Force Quit* button top left side of the window. You can do that with other applications as well.
While you have the Activity Monitor app open press and hold the icon in the Dock, then click Options / Keep in Dock. That way it's easy to access. It won't hurt your Mac to force it to shut down but better to quit an app using Activity Monitor if you can.
As for Flash. Follow the instructions here for troubleshooting Flash - Mac OS X

  • ITunes freezes my computer when i sync with my iPod

updated to new iTunes because my computer said there was a conflict with my burning software. Was prompted to reinstall iTunes. so I did and install went fine untill i try to sync with my iPod. It freezes iTunes and my whole computer . I have XP pro, Nero7 Ultra edition and A 40GB PHOTO iPod. Iwould really love any help with this matter. Thanks to any who can help

Windows may have assigned a drive letter to your iPod that is conflicting with another device. With the exception of your iPod, keyboard and mouse, disconnect all other USB devices including printers, thumb drives, external hard drives, scanners, USB modems etc. and change the drive letter on your iPod. Try M or P or Z.

  • Premiere Pro cs5 freezing my computer when exporting

I'm editing using .mts files.  I've a sequences just about two - three minutes long.  I try exporting 1080p h264 mode and more than half way of encoding my computer just freezes!!!
    Computer specs:
    4 gig ram
    2.81 ghz processor
    Nvidia Geforce 8600 gts
    I'm running a desktop.

    >OR should I download some additional content from the web-site to install the MPEG codes and there by enabling support to Premiere Pro?
You may install anything you want (but I personally would not, unless I was 100% sure of the source) and the trial version STILL will not work with any MPEG codec
The trial has a built-in "lock out" that prohibits using MPEG, no matter what else you have on your computer
