Skype group chat not working anymore

Hi,
I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 and Skype 4.3.0.37. I've premium account in skype and my username is : [Removed for privacy]. For last two days I'm experiencing an issue. I'm not getting any chat text from the skype groups I'm added to. Though I'm getting chat text from individual contacts. As well as if I create new skype group and add other persons from my contact then I'm getting the chat texts but if someone adds me in a new group then also I'm not getting the texts. Another thing is, though my status in skype is online still everybody in mu contact list is seing, my status as  away.
I've already tried reinstalling the skype app but the same issue is still there.

Hi Skype Support Team,I'm also have the same issue like as above. I can not see any message on the chatting group now which does working some days lastweek. But still chatting with just each person normally. I'm using: #dpkg -l | grep skype

    Suddenly stopped working, but personal messages works. Had to login via skype for web and that's where I saw that I had tons of group messages. Tried updating Skype to latest version (7.10), restarted several times, to no avail.  Group Chat is still dead.

    I have a MacBook Pro Retina display: 15.4-inch late 2015 with OS X Mavericks install, only on second week. 
    Insight works on FaceTime, Skype, but yahoo program does not show insight cam in dropped down.
    Now when I got my new MacBook Pro, I down loaded all new Skype (worked tested), FaceTime (Worked Tested), Yahoo (not worked)
    Fix:
    With the new Maverick you have to use there messager program Version 8.0 (4218). Once I add my yahoo account video works again.
    It also supported AOL, AIM, Google Talk, Jabber.
    Guess I miss it frist time... hope this helps...

  • Group chat not working on linux client

    Ubuntu 12.04.4 and Skype Client for Linux 4.3.0.37
    Group Chat no longer works for me I've tried everything online and no luck.
    Do i simply have to wait for Skype to update the client because on the page for the new group chat experiece it says it's not supported but coming sooon!

    recently our group started a new room as the old one finally broke down
    ( pencils just keep on staying up ) 
    new group was created , my mobile phone connects just fine 
    how ever my linux and windows skype never see the new group 
    I have wiped all skype settings and reinstalled all sorts of version 6's / upgrades 
    unfortuantly it seems the Linux version is no longer compatiable
    ( gives the invited user the client must be upgraded message ) 
    i even created a new skype account with still the same problem 
    I have been kicked and re-added my multiple people 
    I can create an group and they connect just fine , they can create an group and I can connect .. but the new group created by  our leader just does not show up 
    i wish their was some way for me to import my mobiles group chat from favorites ... 

  • Lync 2013 Group Chat not working

    We have a 2010 server and when I move people over to 2013 group chat does not work. I can select the people I want to talk to, but they don't see any of the conversations. When I move the back to the 2010 it works again.
    We are running office 2013, lync 2013 and exchange 2010. 
    Any suggestions?

    Have you installed Persistent Chat in Lync 2013? You'll need to migrate the group chat data to the Persistent Chat pool and setup a Persistent Chat Endpoint for the legacy 2010 group chat clients, see: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj204901.aspx

    We here in the Community do not have the tools to diagnose and resolve what has failed with your Skype Number.  However, Skype Customer Service does.  Here is a link to the instruction on how to contact Skype Customer Service via their secure portal: Contact Customer Service
    A few extra notes on contacting Customer Service...
    You will need to proceed through each step, one at a time. Sign on to the Skype website as requested. Choose the subject and topic which most closely matches the item you need assistance with. Then, continue past Step 2 of the instruction where several articles from the FAQ library will appear for you to review, and proceed to Step 3, Continue Support Request (the blue "button" appears at the lower right corner of the website page). You may also skip through Step 4 where you will be referred back here to the Community; no need to do this as the Community is where you started.   • Skype group chats not sending messages.

    So, I've had this problem for a while.
    Basically, sometimes when I get added to a group, the group becomes really laggy.
    very laggy, actually. one instance I posted a message on the 18th of december, then left the group, and it didn't send and register that I left until the 28th.

    I've uninstalled old skype and installed new skype, I've added the group to my contacts, I've tried everything. Other groups I'm a part of appear to be working just fine.
    Can someone give me some advice?

    ATM all I can think of causing this, is a multi version group. Skype changed their group chat behavior in v6.22, a mixed group eg 6.21 and below and above might cause issues.
    The 6.21 version do work, however, all of you has to be on that level:

    This is offcourse just an assumption based on that pre cloud and post cloud clients have issues.

  • IChat video chat not working ANYMORE-can see friends, but they can't see me

    My built-in iSight camera is working. Photobooth works fine. My iChat used to work perfectly, video and all. But starting two nights ago, when I bring up a video chat screen with anyone, the picture preview of me freezes and the person I am talking with can't see anything. Not even a blank screen comes up for them; they can only hear my voice. But oddly, I can see that person and hear them as well. It's just the visual part that isn't working.
    Under Preferences on iChat, "Automatically open iChat when camera is turned on" is checked. So is, "Play repeated ring sound when invited to a conference." Bandwidth Limit: None. Microphone is set to "Internal microphone." Now, the preview screen works and shows me moving. But as soon as I bring up a video chat with someone, this screen freezes the picture (if I keep it open while opening video chat). Or, if I close it and then bring up a video chat, and bring up Preferences, the screen is black.
    This is very odd because iChat used to work fine with video chat, but all of a sudden it is not working at all. Please let me know if you have any idea what I can do to fix it. Thanks.

    Yours is likely to be a different problem.

  • All the sudden facebook chat not working anymore & any friend who appears as an icon on the side i cant send msgs to them!... i cleared the cookies & everything

    hi there, my facebook chat all the sudden stopped & when i press on any of my friends icon to talk to it wouldnt appear! even i cant send them any msgs as long i have them as an icon on the side.
    i cleared the cookies & the history, checked the jave every thing is working properly.
    my second problem that the adobe flash player clashed sometimes, i deleted it & reinstalled it but no help.

    Personally, I can report that the chat sidebar works fine for me. However, we can't help you with that particular problem as Facebook provides that particular service.

    I can't seem to video chat on Skype on my MacBook Pro 13' with Retina Display. The Preference setting shows Face Time being used for video but it's blank. How do I trouble shoot this? Please help! I've been trying to fix this for so long.

    Hey all!
    After some investigation, we have found that the OSX 10.8.5 update is missing a specific file that would allow some apps such as Skype or iMovie to access the built-in facetime camera on Mid-2013 MacBook Airs.
    At this point, we are not sure how this can be fixed, and we'll get in touch with Apple to see how we can solve this.
    From our tests, however, external webcams should work. It's not the best workaround, but until something gets fixed, that is the only known (and hopefuly temporary) solution.
    For the more tech-savvy readers:
    The 10.8.5 update updated a CoreMediaIO plugin that accesses the MBA camera, but didn't bundle the 32-bits version of it.
    Other (older and newer) versions of the OS do include a universal version (32 and 64 bits), but not 10.8.5.
    This means 32-bits apps such as Skype or iMovie cannot load the plugin, making the built-in facetime camera invisible to these them.

  • Plus sign not working anymore for distribution group

    Without our Outlook client it was possible to make a New E-mail, enter a part of the distribution group, pressing control-k to force lookup the group and it was resolved. With the plus sign you can expand the requested ditribution group. Now this is not
    working anymore. Does anyone know that there is maybe an option why this do not work anymore?

    What does "Now this is not working anymore" mean? Does it mean you didn't get the Expand List warning or it didn't expand the distribution group when clicking plus sign?
    Does this issue happen to all users and all distribution groups?
    If you mean you didn't the Expand List warning, we can try this to get it back:
    Open your Registry Editor and browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\xx.0\Outlook\Options\General (where xx is the version of your Office.)
    Look for and open the PONT_STRING value, you'll see a list of numbers in the Value box. Remove number
    13 from the list and test again.
    If you mean that clicking the plus sign didn't expand the group, we may try to open Outlook in safe mode and test again. To do this, press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type
    outlook /safe and press Enter.
    If I've misunderstood something, please feel free to let me know.

    My serial number is not working anymore. When I opened Photoshop it went into trial mode. When I want to reinstall and enter the serial I got a respons my serial is invalid. I have a student version of the Adobe CS6 Master Collection mac NL. on DVD. I have an Adobe account and all the serials are registered. Please help me out!

    You need to contact Adobe Support either by chat or via phone when you have serial number and activation issues.

  • Skype number unreliable / not working?

    I am using Skype on a Galaxy S3.
    Ever since I signed up for a Skype number I have had people emailing me saying that they were unable to contact me on the Skype number that I gave them. This has become more frequent just recently and I have missed some important calls.
    When I call my Skype number from a landline it's a bit hit and miss if a connection is made.... sometimes I get "number not recognised" response from the landline. People who have attempted to call me report similar isssue or sometimes that the number is continually busy and does not go to voicemail.
    I called skype support yesterday via Live Chat and was talking to the support guy for 1h 20min and achieved nothing.... he blamed it on everything from my phone provider, internet provider, that my email account was overloaded etc etc ... I think the guy must have bored and was having a joke with me..... that or he was a complete and total utter ####### idiot.
    I have attached a screen shot showing settings on my Skype account page.
    Currently (23 Jan) my Skype number is not working at all... when I attempt to call from landline I
    get the message "the numebr that you have dialled has not been recognised"
    Anyone else having reliability issues with a Skype number? Unless I get the issue resolved I will be cancelling account as it is worthless to me in it's current working state.
    One more question.... I managed it yesterday, but cannot find it tooday, but how **bleep** do you get to the link for Live Chat.... all i do is get directed to send email???

    Skype is aware of lingering problems with the website when contacting their customer service agents.  If you experience difficulty reaching Skype Customer Service or find yourself redirected back to the Community (or offered only the Community as a contact method), please try again using a different web browser and - important -  choosing a different path through the various drop-down menu options presented.
    Also, look to approve a pop-up dialogue box which would connect you to start an instant message chat with a customer service agent.  If you have pop-ups blocked in the browser settings, this will also block reaching an agent.
