when i tried loggin in i got a msg sa ying password changed and i when i tried changing password i found this current username associated with it

Hey, Im a skype user from sometime and I appreciate the great service done through this towards all... But as it's seen, though I thought calling(video n voice) is secure through skype, now I doubt a bit. coz there are so many software available( I really dunno if they work or not) to hack into skype accounts and even to personal webcams through skype without even knowing.... are these all a false or what?
I lately found out this software available that says; using that, anyone can spy on us by just knowing our skype ID... Is that possible? I saw it when I was just moving around in YouTube. And with all these comments people saying it's really working. I didn't try to download it and find the truth coz I felt its not a good idea as it can affect my computer or my own skype account....
Can anyone please describe the truth on this.... If you want, I can give the link to that youTube video to see what I'm telling here.....

I think that those software that you mentioned could actually do harm in your computer, rather than to do what they claim they can do. Those programs that claim that can hack Skype calls are most likely fake software and most likely contain viruses/malware/spyware or similar elements.
People/parties who promote such software also make use of fake social media accounts to put comments saying that their software actually work (which is a very common practice of scammers).
and you made the right choice on not to download those programs in your computer. Who knows what damage they could do in your computer system/accounts.

Skype hack?

Dear managers and users of Skype,
I was talking with my brother and sister on Skype and suddenly something very odd occured. It had seemed as if my browser had a somewhat mind of it's own and entered it's own messages. It sent a explicit image from Facebook and I immediately deleted it as my siblings are under the age of twelve. It had frightened me and I thought that I somehow had gotten hacked. I have logged into this website to report this event alone and I ask for needed help. I apologize if I have somehow made a mistake somewhere on this website.

most likely a virus. Update your anti-virus software then run a full anti-virus scan. You can also change your password as an additional safety measure.

Skype is aware there can be problems reaching their customer service unit.
If you experience difficulty reaching Skype Customer Service, try again using a different web browser and choosing a different path through the various drop-down menu options presented. Also, look to approve a pop-up dialogue box which would connect you to start an instant message chat with a customer service agent. If you have pop-ups blocked in your browser settings, this will also impede reaching an agent.

Skype hacked on iPad

Hi, My Skype account has been hacked only on my iPad, the messages doesn't show up on Skype on my PC. It shows that I sent messages to some of my contacts to click on a link and the message pops up every time they log in to their Skype accounts. I have sent a message to customer support. How do I prevent this from happening on my iPad again? Is this a virus? How do I remove it from iPad? Did this now infect their iPad's too? Thanks in advance!

My account [Removed for privacy] was suddenly logged out on all my devices and was no longer recognized. I reset my account to no avail. Nothing recognized. It instead created a new account and asked me to merge with that. In case someone's hacked it, could my account please get shut down? Or is something else up? Bit confusing and worrying. Thanks.

Skype Hacked HELP!

I dont know what happends but person was chatting with me on my skype account and he was angry i got my computer super laggy and i had to restart it when i restarted it asked for system restore than i chatted with him again he called me once i picked up after that he blocked me i waited couple minutes and i just got logged off my skype and password was bad. Any solution??

Is it possible to get hacked without doing anythin...

I'm apart of a forum, and within that forum there seems to be a lot of skype hackings which interfere with it's progressive development. Is it possible to get your skype hacked without anyone knowing the email of it and or adding others that send you maclicious files? How is it possible to get your skype hacked if these two problems are out of the equation and your computer is clean?

Unless your iPhone has been jailbroken there is nothing known that can attack the iOS...and be sure to download the latest iOS, 7.0.6 as that has security patches and SSL patches.
There can be browser pop-ups, but those are from the website and not things that can self-install on an iOS device. They can be a scary thing to deal with, however. Basically what you did is great...I would not bother with anything like Avast. With an experience like that, double click the home button, dismiss all recent apps by swiping the material above the icon up and away, then reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears. Ignore the red slider if that appears.
Doing that stops all apps that could be running even in the background, clears all memory, and resets the iOS device. No data or settings will be affected by doing that.

Account hacked + missing credits

Hello everyone,
My account have been hacked and charged $35. Also the hackers spent the whole $35 in credits. Because I use skype almost in the daily basis, I noticed it right away. I contacted skype, told them what happened and they said that they cannot provide a refund and that I should contact my credit card company and dispute the transaction.
Well, I did what they suggested and legitimately bought another $35 in credits so I can talk to my family in Brazil. I used about $4.00 of this $35 and then skype simply took all my credits away and claimed that I spent the fraudulent credits and because of that my credits were taken away. I cannot believe they did this and now skype is saying that I need to buy more credits if I want to make anymore phone calls.
What do I do?

Same thing happened to me today. Account was hacked, all my contacts were deleted, calls were made in rapid succession to mobile #'s in Africa and Europe. It then auto-recharged my account with a $14 charge and then once that ran out, $35 in extra credits were bought. I fund with PayPal and have disputed both charges. Skype says they "cannot refund any money you may have lost because of this incident".
This has been happening to others lately, just search Twitter for "skype hacked" and you'll see.
Their refund policy is simply not acceptable. I'll be telling everyone I know to use Google Voice from now on.

Help with privacy

Hello. So my girlfriend and I, well actually just my girlfriend, are having a bit of a privacy problem with Skype. I'm not going to lie but we do use Skype for really really intimate video conversations since we're living far apart at the moment, if you know what I mean. Anyways, this isn't the first time but whenever we do, she gets all these loads of random IM's from random people talking dirty to her and asking her to video chat with them and even calling her. At first, we both thought it was a coincidence and they were just spam bots so I created a new account for her but earlier today, the same thing happened. Oddly enough, the timing was spot on. I had her privacy settings set to the most private; ie she can only receive IM's from contacts, receive calls from contacts, I put her gender as male, input nothing on the information details, etc. Anyways, how are they able to still contact her? Is Skype hacked? Can people see my cam? Please help.

It seems that on some Android devices the privacy settings are still not set correctly. We are looking into this right now and hope to come up with a solution.
Meanwhile please double check the privacy settings in your app's settings - best to do this while being logged in from a desktop computer (Windows, Mac, Linux).

I. User Can Still Access Account
Run a full anti-virus scan (and other security scans available in your computer). This may help to detect and remove any elements that the hacker may have used in gaining access to your account.
2. Immediately Change Your Password, preferably with something that is difficult to guess, and not related or totally different from the passwords you previously used.
3. If the hacker also changed your registered email address, changed it back to your own email address. Here is the link on how to change your registered email address;

Skype is useless for this.
They will claim that you the user are responsible, and that they don't need to do anyhing.
So....
Do not allow Skype to autorefill your account when it runs low on balance, and do not store a creditcard, or other payment info with them.
Each user is liable for whatever the hackers can steal.
As this is from recent personal experience, I recommend you to never keep payment information on file with Skype.

I have been hacked and lost money but cannot seem to get any help from Skype - how do you get the money back. I have cancelled my paypal accout and cancelled my credit card - skype just keep sending a repeat email saying how sorry they are.
Do I take them to court?
it is a rip off! I am furious with them as they just do not care - no one seems to want ot help and apparently they do not talk to customers.
