Skype History

I know several people have entered posts about this but I thought it would be nice for Skype development to comment now that version 6.18.0.106 was released this week.
The issues are that (1) user must manually delete history which deletes from the local machine - but not another machine that you might log into with the same login and (2) Skype development said back in January they would address the issue of the messages not being able to be deleted from the cloud in a next version which would prevent the multiple machine issue and also protect the user's privacy which we believe Microsoft takes very seriously.
Can someone update us on these issues?
Wasn't there a function in Skype before that you could check a box that "delete history upon logout?" I seem to remember something like that. Did that get removed?

As said Claudius in the post http://community.skype.com/t5/Windows-desktop-client/Skype-History/m-p/3596889/highlight/true#M29654... we can't delete chat conversation permanently from Skype server with Skype options.
However, you could do this with Delete Skype History Network Edition program which deletes chat conversations from remote Skype server so they'll never appear again not only on the PC, were they were deleted, but also on all your synchronized devices http://deleteskypehistory.com/network-edition/index.php

Skype History Across Across Multiple Platforms

I need to get acess to my entire Skype history from both of my platforms: Computer and iPhone. My iPhone one just displays my iPhone-based calls, and my computer displays the computer ones.
I need to be able to print this call log for government purposes (visa). I have used software to extract call logs from my computer, but I can't locate one for my iPhone or one that combines the two.
Can anyone please help me? Thank you.

The only centralized Call history for all telephone calls made by the same Skype name from any computer/device is located in your Account page. Please click the "Account" link at the top of this page and logon using the Skype name in question. Then click on "View Call History, you can also download a .csv formatted file and call history from your account page is only stored for a 6 month period. Call History there is diplayed month by month and the call history .csv files are month by month as well.
Note, there is no centralized history for Skype To Skype calls, or inbound calls, that data is stored only locally on the computer/device where those types of calls were made or received.

Is there a way to permanently delete your skype history?

I know you can clear all of your skype history within the settings, however if you reinstall skype, the history always comes back. Is there a way to completely, permanently remove the history? Thanks

Turning off iCloud will not accomplish anything, unless you simply wish to sign out your AppleID for itunes adn app store. Then of course, you would not be able to purchase apps or other content.
Any itunes or App store purchases can be set to hidden, as ckuan instructs. These would not show up on your device. But no, there is not way to completely delete content purchases.

Retrieving Skype History Report

Hello,
Would somebody please advise how can i get a skype history without the speech lines. I need to pull out something like a report, showing only dates and hours maybe and the contact I've been talking to, sorted by contact.
For example - I need the skype history for conversations between me and B. that shows that on 10.12.2012 we've been chatting from 8 pm till 11.40 pm. But not showing the messages as they are private stuff.

In order to retrieve and extract data from your Skype instant messages and call history, if the information for the most recent six (6) months which is available to us via our Usage History records in our accounts, then a third-party add-on application is called for.
The Community's Super Users tend to recommend a freeware product by NirSoft. There are several products on offer in the Skype App Store; my favorite happens to be RecollX.

Skype history on Mac OSX

Where can I find my Skype history on my Mac OSX?Through Skype I have received a video message from an overseas friend in August 2013 and in August 2014.Recently this friend died and I would love to have those 2 video's she made for me in the past. Her children would be happy to have them.Hope someone has the right answer for me.

I can easily run as many versions of Skype as I want (currently I have about 7 running). I'll detail the process below. But for those who already know how, my issue is that I can't copy/cut/paste in any of the non-primary instances because they are being run under other user accounts. Any ideas on how to get the other user clipboards to function?
To open multiple versions:
1) System Preferneces
2) Users & Groups
3) Click the lock on the bottom left and enter your admin password
4) Click the '+' sign above the lock
5) Click the dropdown at the top and select Administrator.
6) When naming the account I suggest staying consistant (account1, account2, etc.) MAKE SURE YOU ENTER A PASSWORD. THIS WONT WORK IF YOU DONT MAKE A PW.
7) In applications goto Utilities >> Terminal
Type:
su account## -c "/Applications/Skype.app/Contents/MacOS/Skype && exit"
For the step above, replace account## with whatever account name you made.
9) Enter the password for that account.
As mentioned above, you can't cut/copy/paste in any of the secondary accounts, so if anyone knows a way around this it would be very helpful. Thanks.

Relocating skype history and temp files folder on ...

Hi Skype Team.
My laptop is equipped with SSD storages and i am configuring it to reduce disk write operations intensity.
SSD is the system drive, marked with C letter. OS is windows 8.1 x64
Disk operation analysis shows that skype is in top of disk writers, so i want to reconfigure it's temp files folder and history db location to another drive D, not ssd.
I reinstalled the skype to another drive and created a folder for temporary files.
Skype .exe location is "D:\Program files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe"
The new folder i created for skype temp files is: "D:\Program files\Skype\DataStore"
Following one of the topics i tried making a new shortcut, with the path specified as:
"D:\Program files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe" /datapath:”D:\Program files\Skype\DataStore” /removable
But skype don't start.
When i remove /datapath:”D:\Program files\Skype\DataStore” /removable, skype starts successfully.
Please advise proper measures to change temp file and history db folder

This has been going on for several months now, and I've finally gotten to the point where I'm wanting a fix.
I've set up my Skype so that it won't log any of my conversations by going into Privacy settings and changing it to "No History". Once upon a time this used to work, and it somewhat still does, but not completely. Parts of conversations I've had with people still show up in my History. It'll be bits and pieces from various conversations, and only what they have said, never what I say.
I have tried uninstalling skype multiple times (using programs that'll completely remove it), going into the settings and resaving my choice, yet despite what I try my history is still being saved and showing up in logs despite me choosing for it NOT to be. The only way I can wipe it clean is to choose the "Clear History" option each and every time I'm done with my skype session, which not only gets annoying but wipes my saved/favorited groups and recent contacts.
Any help to fix this issue would be greatly, greatly, greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Can I sync my Skype history from iPad / iPhone to Skype on my laptop pc?

I have looked on the Skype forums but can't find an answer although a few people have asked the same question.
It would just be nice to have the both of them with the same history, instead of one not catching up with the other, for example if I have a conversation on Skype on my iPad, it won't show on tthe hisroty Skype on my laptop.

That is not a feature of iPhoto - suggest to Apple - iPhoto Menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback.
iPhoto for IOS and for the Mac share only a name at this time - not a data structure - unfortunately you can not currently do what you want even though it makes a lot of sense

Skype history Modern Win / Desktop skype

Hey guys
I was using Skype for modern WIndows until 2 days ago when it stopped working.
I know it said on the download page that I need to copy my history (or a chat log) somewhere else before upgrading but I wasnt given ANY option of logging in(or reviewing chat logs) in order to do that.
I did upgrade to skype for desktop and my old skype for modern windows still says "time to get a better app", since support is ending on the 7th i'm stuck in this limbo.
The real problem is I have a very important chat log I want to save. Nothing else, and it's from February this year(and it should be still there because I checked something a week ago).
Any help would be much appreciated, since that log is really important for me.

Looks like i have an issue with skype after 6.22 update. I have a huge chat history. My main.db has ~360mb size. When I open some chat, then it takes 2-10 seconds to open it, and during this opening Skype hungs and ignore all Windows Messages as looks like something is going in UI thread. When I open the same chat again, then it works fine. If i don't open it for 30-60 minutes, and then try to open again, it's again has this delay.
I traced it with Process Monitory and looks like when i open it Skype is executing some big SQL lite query over the DB, and this query is processing the whole main.db file by 4kb chunks. Totally it loads ~10-40mb from it in different places of main.db file. Trace is attached
Previous version hadn't such issue and it worked fine. I suppose in new version because of UI changes Skype loads some more data statistics for the whole chat history. Probably it loads the whole history, or maybe some common information about it, but it's very annoying.
When skype hungs for 10 seconds on each chat opening, especially during call, it's very very very annoying.
Is there any way to fix it? Or disable? I suppose i can delete my history, and then it will work fine, but it's not a option for me, because i need that history.
UPDATE:
I've added one more trace with summary information. 1816 file events in 5 seconds just for main.db file. It takes most of the time of that 5 seconds!

I had the same issue since upgrading to Skype 7. My main.db file is about 200MB. I had a chat with Skype support today. Looks like they were able to fix the issue by removing some config files.
Here is what they did:
Quit Skype completely (right-click on the icon in the bottom right corner and select Quit)
Go to %AppData%\Skype folder
Delete shared.xml file
Open the folder that corresponds to your Skype name
In that folder, delete config.xml file
Start Skype
For me, these steps fixed the issue. It took some time for chats with large history to open for the first time, but they were opening quickly moving forward (unlike in the past, when they again were opening slowly after swtiching to them in 15 minutes or so).
