Skype icon in my emails???

This may not be the right discussion forum but when I put a phone number in an email to someone it automatically pops up as a Skype number or in blue with a Skype icon attached? This is very confusing for people that don't have or use Skype. How can I get Skype to stop this function? Thank you.

What you are seeing is Skype's Click-to-Call and Call-To:Links on the Web features in action. As you did not mention which operating system you are using Skype on, here is a search for you to click on for the FAQ articles related to Click to Call:

If you are in the Windows OS, in your web browser, look for a small blue S logo. Clicking on the icon will bring up a choice to tick "Turn number highlighting" on or off. Click to Call is a browser add-on.
Also check your Skype software preferences:
Tools -> Options -> Advanced Settings -> either tick or un-tick Use Skype to Call to: links on the web and/or Use Skype to Call tel[ephone numbers]: on the web -> Save.
Remember, only you see these handy links to call numbers, not those to whom you are sending e-mail to.

Adding Skype Icon to Outlook 2010

I want to add a Skype call or chat icon. I va ecreated on the Skype page and grabbed the email code. Do I paste an icon into Outlook and link to the pasted code or what?

I want to add the skype icon/phone number to my outlook 2010 email messages; however, I can only add the picture and not my Skype Phone Number (step 6 below does not work for me). Can someone provide advice on that? Thanks. Interestingly, it automatically occurred in my hotmail account, which links to Outlook.

3. Right click the picture and save it on your computer.
4. Open a "New email" message in Outlook 2010.
5. insert the picture.

Are you trying to remove Skype entirely, or just get rid of the tool tray icon?
IIRC, you get that icon as long as Skype is running in the background. There's a checkbox in Skype options that will keep it from running on startup. That will eliminate the icon but you won't get notified for incoming calls.

All telephone numbers appear with Skype icon in li...

Once I signed up for calling, all telephone numbers anywhere in my emails suddenly appear with the Skype icon in light blue. How do I correct that?

Hi, fscott, and welcome to the Community,
To turn off the telephone number highlighting, please check these settings:
In your Skype software, under the Tools -> Options -> Advanced tab, un-check and turn off Skype call to: and call tel: links on the web -> Save.
If Skype Click to Call is installed on your browser, click on the blue S and un-check "Turn number highlighting on." You could always uninstall or disable this browser add-on.

Assuming you have these accounts set up in Mail, open preferences and under Accounts tab, edit the SMTP outgoing server list. Do you have a .mac address in the list? If so, delete it.
Are you using iCloud?
For the troubled account, select the correct SMTP server for that account in the box and check the box to use only that server with that account.

After sinc-ing my ipod touch with my MacBok Pro, Skype icon on ipod touch does not open to Skype communication community service. I tried to download Skype from Apps Store using itunes, but received message that i need iOS 4.3...What should i do? how can i download iOS 4.3 - where can I find it?

- If you have a 2G iPod those can ony go to 4.2.1 so the crrent verion of Skype will not install.
- Do y have a version of Skyupe on your computer or in a computer backup? If yu do they you can delete the on the iPod and reinstall the app vis syncing with iTunes.
- If you do not have a copy, then delete the an Skype from iTunes on your computer and transfer iTune spurchases to the computer. this copy the Skhpe app to the computer/iTunes

Now that hotmail is joined with Skype, I changed my email address to Gmail and then updated the information for my AppleID. Now when I view the purchase History using the new email

I can only view recent purchases and furthermore I cannot print the list of items purchased. I have been able to download / update previous purchases and download them again by signing in with

You can't merge Apple IDs. You also can't cancel (delete) and existing ID, you can only choose to stop using it.
If your old ID was compromised and you can no longer access it, you'll have to contact Apple for assistance. Go to https://expresslane.apple.com ; click 'See all products and services' at the bottom of the page. In the next page click 'More Products and Services, then 'Apple ID'. In the next page select 'Other Apple ID Topics' then then 'Apple ID account Security’.

Skype icon not showing

Hi Team,
I have a scenario, customer using Lync in intranet does not get Skype Icon, While the one on internet can see.
Ports are open.
URL is allowed from proxy.

My guess is the working customer is homed to a Lync 2013 server back end.
IconUrl will not work for Lync server 2010, you will need to move to Lync 2013 server for that parameter to work.
Compare the new-cspublicprovider parameters, 2013 has -iconurl but 2010 doesn't:

Yes, the icon on your desktop is just a shortcut to the program. On Macs it's called an alias.

2 skype names with 1 email

HI!have two skype names registered to 1 email.when click to forgotten passwpr i received an email for only one skype name.but when i open the add contact there appears my second skype name registered to the same email,but when i click forgotten password it doesn't appear in the drop down box.if i delete my first skype name from the email,can i chage the password to the second?thank u

As bizarre as it sounds, sometimes people do create Skype accounts using other people's e-mail addresses. Why they would do so, I have no idea -- an account's registered e-mail address is the only way Skype communicates with accountholders. I can only surmise it is an attempt at identity theft and seeking financial information.
You may either change the password of the account, thereby assuming control of it, or contact Skype Customer Service to request your e-mail address be dis-associated with the account you did not create/set up. I would also recommend changing that e-mail address account's password.
If you choose to take control of the account, you can next request Skype Customer Service remove the account as explained here: 'Can I delete my Skype account?'

Skype icon stuck on desktop

I have tried all the tricks I know, but the alias seems only to work when the skype icon is on my desktop. If I eject it, then the alias (in my Apps folder) cannot find the app. and I have to d/l it again.
I am sure there is a trick... but I am at a loss.
Any suggestions out there?

Had this trouble with firefox as well, but got that one to work after a couple tries.
I have repaired my disk permissions.
Still, the Skype icon (not the dmg) does not seem to want to go into my applications folder. When I put it in the app folder, it just makes another alias nd remains on the desktop.
If I 'eject' the icon from my desktop, then the alias says it can no longer find the application.
Again, I am sure (I hope) there is an easy fix here...

Trash icon missing in email

My trash icon has disappeared when I have email open. On the top are the are the icons for "junk" (thumbs down), reply, reply all, forward, notes, etc but the button that had the trashcan is suddenly missing. Any hints how to fix this?

My reply and forward icon was missing as well as trash icon on my email too. Powering off the phone seemed to fix the problem.
