Skype in number Hacked

My Skype in has been hacked and is sending text messages The reason I know this is I am getting a huge number of phonecalls to my Skype In number saying "please stop sending me text messages " these are mainly from BT I have cancellec my Skype in number , but it still says that it will work till Jan 2016 In the meantime I am getting phonecalls throughout the night Does anyone know how to stop these text to phone messages ?

Thankyou ,My Skype account has not been hacked , but someone is using my Skype number to send texts to phones in the UK . The people recieving the texts then call my Skype number to ask me to stop sending them texts . I am also getting automated messages from BT saying that I have a text to phone message . These messages are also from people who ask me to stop sending them messages . I am unable to stop BT sending me text to phon e messages as when i phone hem to try to stop it they do not recognise the Skype number and so cannot stop messages being sent . I therefore am getting calls ( through to my Skype account ) throughout the day and sometimes at night.Very strange I am not getting charged for the texts I can phone my Skype number and it works normally

Call forwarding number hacked

I am an expat living and working overseas and have a Skype call forwarding # that routes calls to my international number. Over the last 2 weeks I have received 3 phone calls from angry people across the country (Georgia, California, and Utah) claiming they've received a phone call from my Skype # claiming it's from the IRS and they owe money and to contact them immediately.
I, of course, did not make these calls and am concerned my Skype # has been "hacked" which could lead to worse identity theft. I tried to contact Skype / MSFT but the chat help discussion was a disaster and the person obviously 1] wasn't a native English speaker, and 2] did not come close to understanding my issue nor solve it.
I have no idea where to turn to look in to this issue, or how to prevent it from happening again. Would welcome any suggestions!

Same thing happened to me. Skype is a TERRIBLE company to deal with. I only lost 80 pence < 1USD so I don't really care, but I will never load credit onto my account again. Skype just lost a customer. Apart from any free services they have.
I don't see how my account was hacked, I use it very rarley. It just autologs in. I run it on a networked business PC and the IT guys can't find any viruses/trojons on it.
Skype don't care about their customers from my experiences with them

Skype account got hacked and i see unknown activit...

This morning I saw skype charge on credit card and I see unknown activity. somebody is calling using my account. I changed the password and still see the calling. I tried searching for the customer support phone number but was unable to do so. I even chatted with the customer representative but to no avail. I trusted your service and now I am stranded with some hacker using my account. There is no quick customer support and which is very frustrating.

My Account also got hacked and I too was charged $20. I too had seen some 200+ SMS sent to phone numbers in China. I think Skype servers are hacked and they are not informing users about it.
Can someone from Skype respond ?

My Skype Online Number is not working

Bought a skype online number in UK last week, it works fine for two days then that's it, now it is telling callers " the person you are trying to reach is not available leave a message after the tone". Is this some kind of fraud or what. I tried calling the number while I am sitting in front of the PC sign on, still no show. I am highly disappointed, because the purpose of the number has been defeated. Skype is a bloody joke. May be I should just stick with the free services.

In short, "yes it is some kind of fraud". If you paid with a credit card I suggest you file a dispute with the credit card company to get a refund, because trying to get a refund issued by Skype personnel for a service you paid for that they fail to provide is like pulling teeth. Since the only people you can actually contact are tech support folks in the Philippines who have no access to any of Skype's servers or cash flow, it's actually like trying to pull teeth from someone who doesn't even have any teeth.

After going round and round in circles on Skype's ridiculous web site I seem to have no option but to end up here.
My Skype In Number is NOT WORKING. Why not and how do I get this fixed ? I am sure Skype will want paid again soon but if I am not getting the service so guess what....

You are, of course, correct: you ought to contact Skype Customer Service to report the problems with your Skype Number and to request it be tested, and you will need to contact Skype Customer Service to request a refund.
Skype is aware there can be problems contacting their customer support unit. Please do tray again; people do get through.

Here are a few extra notes to guide you along the way ...
You will need to proceed through each step, one at a time. Sign on to the Skype website as requested. Choose the subject and topic which most closely matches the item you need assistance with. Then, continue past Step 2 of the instruction where several articles from the FAQ library will appear for you to review, and proceed to Step 3, by clicking on the Next button. Continue Support Request (the blue "button" appears at the lower right corner of the website page). You may also skip through Step 4 where you will be referred back here to the Community; no need to do this as the Community is where you started. When you complete the web-form and click Submit, Send, your information is relayed to Skype and you will receive a reply via e-mail unless you are transferred to start an instant message chat session with a Customer Service agent.

Same problem here. I have a Skype phone connected to my network, and I can call out; but, nobody can call my Skype number ... the line just seems to disconnect.
I've restarted my network, restarted the Skype phone, signed-out and back in, used the MS Windows application, etc... all with the same result ... nobody can call me.
Please sort this out ASAP.

No meaning to get skype online number

No meaning to get skype online number, i subscribed for whole year online number, but the online number doesn't work most of the time, I am very upset, disappointed, and my friends are also very upset, angry and worry when they can't find me through the online number i bought, i am too busy to complain the quality, but now I need to voice this BIG BIG PROBLEM. I am using android reception Orange . Skype has to compensate me!!
Also if I am out and call my other country friends from my mobile through Skype, most of the time the sound quality is very very bad, they can't hear my words, like under the water, so what is the point i pay money to Skype !?!?

I have the same problem, after I choose my state, the area codes are 'loading' but none are displayed in the drop down menu. I tried this a few days ago as I was exploring this option and phone numbers for my area code were shown. So, a temporary glitch?

Scammers using my Skype In Number

For the past few weeks, I have had voice messages left on my Skype In number related to people asking for refunds from a tax department.
It seems that the scammers will call these people, and when they ask questions and want a number to return the call, the scammers will leave my Skype Number as their contact details. So, lots of calls from dear old people expecting me to help them get a refund.
I have cancelled my subscription for this number, however the number is still active until the next bill cycle in January.
How can I inactivate this to where the phone number is no longer valid?

Skype ToGo Number changed without notice? Did Sky...

This morning, I recieved an email stating that since I'd registered my cell-phone number (which I did a long time ago), I had been given a Skype ToGo number, which was listed in the email.
However, I already have a SkypeToGo number and it is a different number from the one listed in the email!
Which number should I use? I tried calling the original number I've always used and it appears to be still connected.
I sure hope Skype isn't changing the number on me without any advance warning or consultation... (?!)

The e-mail was sent from Skype to our users who have a verified phone number and who are eligible to use the Skype To Go service.
If you received the email, it means you have been enabled with a Skype To Go access number to make international calls, at normal SkypeOut rates, directly from your mobile phone.
There is no cost for your Skype To Go access number but you can disable it in your Skype account if you wish.

Trying to Get Skype Online Number

Trying to get Skype online number. I pick my country and state, but can't get past that.
goes to step #2, and shows loading area codes, but then it goes blank and won't let me pick area code. Already bout unlimitted monthly calling subscription in case that was problem, but still doesn't work. Help!

My Skype in number show as my caller id

I have just purchased a Australian Skype in number. I would like to set it up to show as my caller id number when I skype out. How can I set this up??? I have tried the obviuos ways but the Skype in number is not recognized in the Skype caller id set up.

Hello and welcome to the Skype Community.
1. Allow your Skype Number to expire. You won't lose your number -- it will be held on your account for reactivation for 90 days following the expiration date.
2. After it expires sign on to your account details. You should be presented with a triangle icon with an exclamation mark inside it and be greeted with the message that your Skype Number subscription has expired. Click on the "Reactivate" link and proceed to "renew". You should now be able to renew your number..

Maybe. Your phone should have settings to set forwarding for all calls to your T-Mobile number. If you enable that, your T-Mobile phone won't ring anymore, but you could still use your phone to make calls and for sending/receiving SMS or MMS messages.
If you are asking about forwarding calls when the mobile phone is on but you don't answer the phone, instead of those calls going to a T-Mobile voicemail system, you *may* be able to change that. T-Mobile doesn't let you do that on a prepaid phone, and that appears to be the same if you use some other prepaid services that ride on T-Mobile's network like Straight Talk. It may be possible on a postpaid plan (one where you get a monthly invoice to pay).
As for what T-Mobile would charge, you'd have to check on your plan or contact T-Mobile. Some plans have unlimited calling that includes call-forwarding, others only provide for a certain number of minutes for call-forwarded calls a month, and then there are some "plans" that make you pay for anything that is call-forwarded from your T-Mobile number. The T-Mobile web site may be able to help answer that, or a call to their customer service number will need to be made.
