Skype-in numbers in multiple countries, caller ID ...

I have a Skype-in number in the Netherlands and the UK. When I use Skype to call someone in Amsterdam I would like my Dutch Skype-in number to be shown. Likewise, when I call someone in London, I would like my UK Skype-in number to be shown.
Sounds logical isn't it? Why is this obvious feature not available?

If you have multiple Online Numbers, you would designate one as the "default" for Caller ID.  Then you can also set this up so that other Online Numbers for other countries are used when you call those countries, if those numbers are eligible for use as Caller ID.  You can't designate the use of certain numbers as Caller ID for different countries, or continents (i.e., a US number for Caller ID when calling North America, a UK number when calling Europe, etc.).
Using myself as an example, my US and UK Online Numbers can be used for Caller ID.  I also have numbers in Australia and Mexico, but neither of those can be used for Caller ID.  My US number is the default number for Caller ID with Skype, but I allow my UK number to be used for Caller ID when I call numbers in the UK.  In your case, you would probably want a UK number to be your default number for Caller ID, but allow the use of the US number when you call phones in the States from Skype.  Does that make sense?

    You can do this by taking the phone numbers from an XML document or from a database query (if you have premium license). You will need the place call step and make a loop around it, so when the first number is succesfully dialed, the script take the next number and so on. When using a XML you need to create one, for example:

    Save it as Customer.xml (for example) and upload it to the UCCX repository (Documents in this case).
    Creating the script:

    Hello, I have had my Skype number for several years and it's been no problem for those with Caller ID to have my Skype number displayed when receiving a call from me.  However, the past few months this has changed dramatically.  Now, my Skype number is NEVER displayed when calling someone and in fact, most of the time it displays numbers or even names randomly which have zero relation to myself or my number.  Other times, the users Caller ID will display "Skype User".  Why has this suddenly happened and what can be done to ensure that it's corrected and working properly again?
    My account is indeed configured to display my Skype number (as it has been for several years), but this has no longer has any bearing whatsoever on the number displayed when I call someone.  I have found that some people are no longer accepting my calls since they have no idea that I am the one calling them. 
    This is happening when I call numbers in the U.S. and sometimes Canada and does not matter where my physical location is - if I am in the U.S., U.K., Hong Kong, Taiwan, etc, the result is always the same - my number is NOT displayed. 
    If anyone could offer some advice which would take care of this, I would be most appreciative. Thank you, Greg

    Yes, I have read that FAQ and I realize Caller ID does not work for all countries.  But that same FAQ indicates that Caller ID is available for the U.S.  And this is where I make the majority of my calls.  However, as I mentioned in my original post, my Caller ID has NOT been displayed for several months.  What is displayed are randomly changing phone numbers and names that have no bearing whatsoever with anything related to my actual Skype number or name.  I've done my own testing when calling my home phone from Skype.  I'll call multiple times in quick succession and I will get different results each and every time.  The last six calls to my home from my Skype number resulted in the following results: Number displayed not related to my Skype number (different area code entirely)A completely diferent number displayed not related to my Skype number (again, different area code entirely)Name displayed which is not a name I have ever been acquainted with beforeA completely diferent number displayed not related to my Skype number (again, different area code entirely)"Skype User" displayedA completely diferent number displayed not related to my Skype number (again, different area code entirely) If Caller ID is no longer offered in the U.S. the Caller ID FAQ should be updated to reflect this change.

    But both come through to me at home. Can i get two skype out numbers for these and use them at the same time? I dont want to open one then close it and open another?

    You can have up to 10 Online Numbers on a single Skype account.  So you could purchase numbers for the UK and US, and you would receive those calls on your Skype account.  You'd still need Skype Credit or a subscription if you want to call telephones in those countries, or anywhere else, as Online Numbers do not give you any privileges for calling telephones - except that you can use certain Online Numbers as Caller ID when calling telephones.
    For your example, numbers from both the US and UK can be used as Caller ID when calling telephones from Skype.  You can choose to use one of these numbers as your "default" Caller ID number, and there is an option where you can use a specific number for calls to the country that number is in.  This means you could set the US number as your default Caller ID, but the telephones you call in the UK could see your UK number, not the US number.  Or vice versa - use the UK number as your default Caller ID number, but callers in the US would see your US number. 
    I have 4 Online Numbers - in the US and UK like you are interested in, along with Australia and Mexico.  These are great tools to have callers avoid international call charges.    Good luck!

    If you have each country on a different instance and you want employees to retain their employee number on transfer between countries, I believe you have two options:
    i) Use manual numbering. One recent change to the system is that you can update the numbering profile from Auto to Manual and back to Auto again. So you could potentially leverage this manual workaround when a cross BG transfer happens.
    ii) Bespoke module to export all emp numbers into a 'central repository', e.g., flat file, that can be accessed by all instances, imported regularly and then referenced by your Fast Formula. You would also need processing to determine when a person is a transfer from another BG or a new hire; probably have to be some control field on flex. Basically, this is a requirement made difficult by the decision to host each legislation on a different instance; I would never recommend clients to go down this route but I guess it's too late in your case.
    If cross BG transfers are not common, e.g., less than 5 a week, I would recommend option 1.

    It appears from viewing the message boards and our own experience, that Skype Online Numbers are down at the moment.  All calls to online numbers either don't ring or go through, OR the caller recieves the dreaded three tone "this number has been disconnected" message. What's up Skype?  Is this to be expected regularly now that Microsoft owns you?

    Just signed up for Skype and online number a few days ago. Online number not working, simply get a busy signal when number is dialed. How do you get something like this rectified from Skype. I don't see any way to contact Skype. Help!

If i want to call Ireland i want to use the Irish number and to call the UK i want to use the UK number. Firstly, is there any difference in the charges or does it not matter which number is used.     I still have not described how this works well; please forgive me. 
    Skype Numbers are for receiving incoming calls only. 
    People who wish to call you, who are not using Skype, will decide which number they want to use, if you have provided both numbers to them.  You will receive their call on Skype, as if they were on Skype, too.
    You can call out anywhere, using your credit (or a subscription) to pay for toll charges and connection fees.

  • Register additional numbers in different countries

    Make it possible to add numbers in various countries on the same account. Can't be difficult to do if other providers allow this. Expats like myself will find this useful to be able to add/register their numbers which is from different countries (having different country code)
    In the present situation, once for example, a UK number is registered, only UK numbers can be registered. German or US numbers cant be registered to the list as the flag can not be changed!

    it's not possible, sorry
    both Online numbers are associated with one Skype Name, and Call Forwarding applies to the Skype Name, not an Online number
    you also cannot move an Online number from one Skype Name to another

  • One TPV for multiple Countries

    Hi Experts,
    Could you pls share experirnce/knowledge around having one TPV for multiple countries together. The scenario is like below:
    1. There are mutiple Countries in Central America which are small islands for whom we need to roll out the Travel and Expense Solution.
    2. The Company code is only one which contains employees from all these Countries.
    Could you tell us how can we do the setup. Should we create one TPV at the company code level. OR should we rather use some other criteria for selecting the TPV maybe at the Personnel area or Personnel Sub Area level.

    These things I am aware about too. My real question is if I create only one TPV for the company code and assign the Country of the Company code then what issues would this cause. To name a few pls see below.
    1) The domestic Country would always be the Company code Country so would be treated as Domestic Country and show on the Form also as domestic Country even for the employees who are from other Countries.
    2) There are setting which SAP allows differently for Domestic and International like per diem, miles cumulations. So these necessarily have to be kept as same even though local laws are different in all these countries as Domestic is only the Company code Country.
    So I need detailed analysis of what impact I will have by having only one TPV as against making many TPV like one for each Country by using some other parameter like Personnel area/Personnel sub area etc.

  • How to loop through single XML File and send multiple RFC calls?

    I am looking for the best approach to use for making multiple RFC calls (can be sequential) using a single XML file of data.  I have been attempting to get a BPM loop working, but to no avail.  My RFC only accepts a single set of delivery input and I have been told to try to work with it as is.
    input xml sample:

    Brand new 5s- sometimes phone numbers display when receiving calls and texts instead of contact name. Hard to know who is calling/texting! A few times I've tapped on the text message icon and I can actually watch as the conversations turn from showing just numbers to the contact names. Same thing when looking at call history and voice mail- sometimes it shows numbers and then I'll go back and the contacts will be back. So frustrating!

    I have asynchronous scenario File to RFC(BAPI).
    File contains raws. For each raw I need to execute BAPI.
    With the help of each raw I need to construct one document in R/3 database with the help of BAPI.
    But now my scenario provide only one document (only one BAPI is executed).
    I read file to xml structure. This structure contains elements. The elements represent raws of file. But BAPI is executed only for the first element.
    How to explain to XI that I want it impement BAPI <b>N times</b> - as number of raws in file (or elements in xml structure).
    So how to implement multiple BAPI calls. Have you any idea?
