Again Skype installer did not work for latest version Skype 7.3.0.101 for Windows XP but this time I know it is a Skype problem and not me or my computer, because it failed again and told me that an older version Skype 7.3 could not be removed, I am not surprised, I only had 7.2 at the time, and 7.3 was what I was trying to install. So Mr Skype/Microsoft, you still have some work to do. However my original solution of the get around does still work, and I use it instead. Skype Installer Won't Work

No matter what I do the Skype installer won't work. I download it, but when I double click on it it brings up the "give permission" thing. I click yes, and then it does absolutely nothing.

Try to install the currently latest Skype 7.4.0.102 version using this installer:

Try removing Skype program entries with Program_Install_and_Uninstall troubleshooter
Download and Run the Program_Install_and_Uninstall troubleshooter >> Click Accept
Detect problems and apply the fixes for me (Recommeneded)
Select Option Uninstalling
Select Skype >> Next
Click Yes, try Uninstall
You’ll see Fixed (Green Tick) >> Next
Yes the problem has been fixed >> Next
Click Close.
Make sure you have full permission in the Skype folder under %ProgramData%(C:\ProgramData\Skype) directory.
go to C:\ProgramData\ and Right click Skype folder >> then click Properties.
On the security tab, click permissions or Edit. Select the "Everyone" group >> click "Full Control" in the Type of Access List.
Select the Replace Permissions on Subdirectories check box. Click OK >> Yes

Run the installer with ADMIN rights
Right click the "SkypeSetupFull.exe" and select "Run as administrator".

Skype Installation Problems

When I try and download Skype (Version 5.1), I keep receiving "Error writing to file", then it asks to" verify that you have access to that directory." It then notifys that "Skype installation failed; code 1603. A fatal error occurred during installation."
Has anyone experienced this? If so, any suggestions? Thanks!

Redownload the Skype installer.
Also, run it with Administrative Privileges (Right click, Run as Administrator)
I have more HP devices than you'd expect.
1 HP TouchPad 32 GB with Android
2 HP Touchsmarts (310-1000z and IQ527)
2 HP Printers (J6480 and J5750)
1 Laptop (HP DV6253CL)

Popup message - Windows Installer tries to Install SolutionCenter.msi, but unable to find it.

The message is from Windows Installer and says Please wait while the windows installer tries to install SolutionCenter.msi.
But then it says it cannot find the file. I cannot get rid of the message and don't know what to do. It is hard to even get out of the popup message.

Itunes installer asking for Bluetooth Software.msi

Has anyone encountered this error? I downloaded the Itunes 6.0.4 version but everytime I try to install it the installer asks for "Bluetooth Software.msi" driver and refuses to install. Any ideas

hmmmmm. it's plausible that you're got another installer process "jammed on" on the PC, and that is interfering with the itunes install. (saw a bit of that with Logitech QuickCams in the early days of itunes 6.0.x.)

Skype installer just runs the blue line for hours

My Skype would not load this week..although it has worked fine for some time. I decided to get the latest download. Installer did download but after accepting the agreement and giving permission for the Skype website to access my computer, the blue line that indicates downloading just travels across the pop up box goes and goes and goes for hours!!! with no effect. Yes, I did make sure my existing Skype was turned off.
I downloaded and restarted the installer 5 times and all with the same effect. I am really frustrated.
Can you help me?

Skype installer doesn't do anything

When I open the "SkypeSetupFull.exe" it doesn't do anything. (It opens no window)
When looking at task manager it starts the process but it is instantly gone.
I had skype before but I uninstalled it.
Things I tried:
- Removing Skype folder in %Appdata%, Program files and program data.
- Removing every key that contains Skype in regedit.exe
- Downloading skype 6.3.0.107 (Same problem)
- Running the installer as administrator
System info:
Windows 7 Home Premium SP 1
64 bits

The msi package generated during AIR app install is in a temporary folder ..../User/Username/Local/Temp/fla%.tmp/setup.msi.
My problem is the installation folder is always changing.
how can i define this folder in order to grant elevated access for users to install this package ?

MacBook Pro with OSX 10.8.5 and new Skype Installation

I have a MacBook Pro with OSX 10.8.5 and would like to install SKYPE now that I have a new granddaughter on the way. I have read all sorts of horror stories about Skype crashing the system with this operating system, etc. I have NOT installed Maverick,but regularly keep all updates installed and up to date. Does anyone know if the problems presented by this OS and Skype have been resolved yet? If I do choose to install Skype (I assume following instructions on the Skype site) is there anything I should watch for or be wary of? I also have a new iPad and hope to use SKYPE on it when travelling.

I have tried to install SKYPE on my MacBook Pro, by going to Skype and Download for Macs. It downloads OK into the Downloads folder and I can drag it into my applications folder as per instructions from the Skype site. HOWEVER, when I double click to open it and to sign in, I get a message " Skype cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developerYour security preferences allow installation of only apps from the Mac App Store and identified developers." When I push the help button, I see that one has an option to override the security and allow installation. I am nervous to do that as I don't want any viruses, etc. I have tried to go to the MacApp Store, but can only find apps for iPad and iPhone. Can't seem to see any for my laptop.

Win7 Skype installation problem

Dears,
I tried to install the latest version of Skype today.
During installation process, it always pops up a message "Could not open key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE32\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\Feature Control\FEATURE_MAXCONNECTIONSPERSERVER. Vertify you have suffient access to that key, or contact your support personnel"
Then the installation process failed and another message pops up with an error code:1603
I googled some answers and some people give the following suggest:
Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type regedit and press OK button. This will open Windows Registry editor.
But I can not find "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE32"; I can only find "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"
Anyone knows what I should do now?

Adobe Reader X installer can't find AdbeRdr930_en_us.msi

I am trying to install Adobe Reader X, but get an error message that it can't find AdbeRdr930_en_us.msi. What do I need to do to complete the installation of the new version?
I am using Windows XP Home SP3, updating from Adobe Reader version 9.4.3.

Update: I clicked cancel on the error message and Adobe X completed its install without further problems. But, now I have both versions (9.4.3 and 10.0.1) on my computer. I tried to uninstall AR 9 using add/remove programs and encountered the same error message.
Do I have to redownload/reinstall version 9 to then be able to remove it?

XP Professional window installer looking for Roxio Media MSI file

I removed Ratio Media software and then upgraded to the latest Blackberry Desktop 5.01 on XP pro system. Following the reboot the window installer continues to ask for the Roxio Media MSI location. Only way to stop is to kill the process.
Suggesitons to stop permantly would be appreciated.

DL and install a fresh copy of an appropriate DTM version (sans Media Manager, unless you really need it):
