Skype is Deactivating subscription without proof

Hi,
I am using Skype unlimited subscription for India from last 5 months. Suddenly, today I received a email from Skype saying that  "we have noticed some prohibited usage of your subscription." 
This is so funny, because, I was not in town from 26th Oct till 4th Nov and during this period I haven't use my skype to make any call.
I feel Skype wants to deactivate subscription for all the users who are having  unlimited plan activated for India. Reason is, they have removed Unlimited calling subscription from there website. So, they are deactivating all the accounts which hold unlimited Plan.

Hello and thank you for your detailed post.
Over a number of years I have raised internally the twin issues of the suitability of Skype for business use and the ease (or otherwise) of renewing existing subscriptions/contracts.
So far I have received sympathic hearings but little progress in the way of concrete resolutions.
Having spent most of my career in international business I must concur with your expressed views. 
I will not stop raising this internally within Skype and will use both your post and your blog to (once again) highlight the issue at the next relevant meeting.

    Go to http://www.adobe.com and sign-in with you Adobe ID ( on which you purchased the subscription).
    Then, on right hand side panel, click on 'Desktop' under Apps section. And then location Acrobat XI Pro and download it.

    Skype does not provide a telephone call-in customer support facility.  Please try again using a different web browser than you typically use.  Here is a different link to the instruction on how to contact Skype Customer Service via their secure portal: Contact Customer Service
    A few extra notes to guide you as you walk through the various steps:
    You will need to proceed through each step, one at a time. Sign on to the Skype website as requested. Choose the subject and topic which most closely matches the item you need assistance with. Then, continue past Step 2 of the instruction where several articles from the FAQ library will appear for you to review, and proceed to Step 3, Continue Support Request (the blue "button" appears at the lower right corner of the website page). You may also skip through Step 4 where you will be referred back here to the Community; no need to do this as the Community is where you started.     You are absolutely correct; you need to report a non-working Skype Number to Skype Customer Service as they have the tools to diagnose and resolve.  Please post back if you continue to experience difficulty in reaching Skype Customer Service.

  • Skype Unlimited World Subscription

    Hello,
    I'm new to Skype and need some help. I am going to Italy for a while and would like to be able to call family using Skype. Some of them do not have Skype accounts which is where the following questions come from:
    If I purchase the Skype Unlimited World subscription I am able to call mobile and landline numbers internationally, correct? (I will just be calling the U.S. from Italy)
    Also, if I buy that subscription am I given a Skype number so that others may call me from their mobile and/or landline numbers?
    Lastly, if people can call my Skype number from their mobile and/or landline numbers, are they charged for the call, or am I charged for the call?

    1. If you are just calling to the USA you only need the Unlimited USA/Canada Plan @$2.99/month. This Plan enables you to call both landlines and cell phones in the USA from anywhere in the world including from within the USA.
    2. No. You must purchase that separately.
    3. A Skype Number is a regular landline # so calls to it will cost whatever the caller's carrier charges.

    Eventhough I live in the middle east, I keep getting emails in Russian about my account being suspended and credits are withdrawn.

    I am not sure how to fix this neither how to change emails to be sent in English. Thinking that my account was hacked, I update my account's password successfully but nothing has changed.
    I have specifically set my location to Lebanon, where the official language is Arabic, followed by French and English.
    I also tried to contact Skype but ironically couldn't find other than the community forum to use.

    You say you are getting emails in Russian - have you visited a Russian-speaking area lately? Did you perhaps set up your account while in Russia? In either case, you can contact CS via Live Chat so they can check that for you.
    You can also re-activate your Skype Credit following the instructions on this link.

  • Skype not renewing subscription

    Hi I took out a skype unlimited world subscription a little over 12 months ago.  Due to fraud, the credit card on my account was cancelled by my bank in December.  In January I received an email from Skype to say that my credit card had been declined and stating that I had 90 days to renew my subscription.  Unfortunately, it was not possible for me to do so on line.  I simply was not given the option to renew.  When I contacted Skype, the representative initially told me that the email was a mistake and invited me to take out a new subscription (which has a much more limited coverage).  When I told them that I had two friends who successfully renewed their subscriptions in similar circumstances she acknowledged that this was an issue and referred me to Skype level 2 support.  Skype Level 2 support after asking me for screen shots of the email told me that the issue had been fixed and invited me to renew the subscription.  When I logged in, I still did not have any option to renew.  Skype Level 2 then changed their line and told me that Skype had decided to discontinue the subscription and that it was no longer available to me.  I responded that the issue had not been satisfactorily resolved and asked for contact details for a Skype manager.  I was not given contact details for a manager.  I was instead contacted by another level 2 representative who told me that the first representative was away and, once again, to send screen shots, which I did.  In response I received a message to say that Old Skype Premium will only renew if the payment instrument is still active on the account, which is in direct contradiction to the email I received from Skype giving me 90 days to renew.  I feel like I am being stonewalled.  How can I get this matter resolved?

    We have reviewed the information received regarding this  issue. Per VKB: 2924984.
    Customers have 90 days after cancellation to reactivate a subscription.  However this does not apply to subscriptions that have expired as a result of non-payment, as these cannot be reactivated and you will have to buy a new subscription. The subscription that you had previously is no longer offered. Unfortunately purchasing a new subscription in this case is the only solution.

  • Problem with Skype/Microsoft 365 subscription

    I'm not sure if anyone else has experienced this but... I used my skype subscription minutes (as part of my Microsoft 365 subscription account) for the first time ever for just under a half an hour on November 4th, and again today - again for just under a half an hour - and when I checked how many skype minutes I have left, it said I have 2 minutes left until January 17th, 2014. I'm wondering why that would be, considering I just started using the minutes on the 4th of November. I can understand that perhaps I have only 2 mins left until sometime in December, but why January of next year? I'm a bit confused... If anyone can help me clarify this, that would be greatly appreciated!

  • Skype Unlimited World Subscription Payment Refused

    If you have failed to pay due to credit card expiry or any other reason and once Skype has tried to charge you and they fail and cancel your subscription - you can't do anything to renew your subscription - or can you?
    I have wasted three days and umpteen hours trying to renew my refused payment cancelled subscription - but no luck. Today I had even a call from their customer service to personally tell me that they can not do anything for me. So thats that.
    But most annoying thing is that their own website says this -
    "If your credit card expires (or the payment fails for any other reason), we will let you know that the recurring payment failed, and give you time to change your payment method and keep your subscription running. 
    If you don’t change your payment details in time and your subscription expires, you have up to 90 days to reactivate it by updating the payment method. By doing this, you can maintain your current subscription settings."

  • Skype ToGo Number changed without notice? Did Sky...

    This morning, I recieved an email stating that since I'd registered my cell-phone number (which I did a long time ago), I had been given a Skype ToGo number, which was listed in the email.
    However, I already have a SkypeToGo number and it is a different number from the one listed in the email!
    Which number should I use?  I tried calling the original number I've always used and it appears to be still connected.
    I sure hope Skype isn't changing the number on me without any advance warning or consultation... (?!)

    The e-mail was sent from Skype to our users who have a verified phone number and who are eligible to use the Skype To Go service.
    If you received the email, it means you have been enabled with a Skype To Go access number to make international calls, at normal SkypeOut rates, directly from your mobile phone.
    There is no cost for your Skype To Go access number but you can disable it in your Skype account if you wish.
