Skype keeps disconnecting me on every platform

I have the latest version on Windows, Mac, and iOS.
I reset my password, disabled Antivirus and Firewall, tried from different locations, and still can't login.
It logs and disconnects me right away, the password I'm typing is correct, and it was working fine until about a week ago. How can I solve this?
Thanks.

  • Skype keeps disconnecting my internet.

Hello I recently just moved house and acquired BT Infinity 2. Ever since moving house and Internet provider joining skype calls keeps disconnecting my connection. I am currently on a wireless connection and have had BT Infinity since Thursday the 13th of February. If anyone could please help me I would be really happy.
    Thanks, Simon.

I cannot currently connect to my Hub with an ethernet cable as my computer is upstairs. I do not understand how I never had this problem when I was on a 2mb download speed connection with Sky but now I have this problem on a 20mb download speed connection with BT.
Is there anything else I can do to solve this problem, I have tried turning my hub off and on but that doesn't seem to work? Would you recommend trying the reset button to make the hub default back to factory settings? I wasnt sure whether to try this since it sounded a bit scary and I didn't want to mess things up more.
Also while I'm here, how would I go about have an ethernet cable port put in my bedroom? Could I get an electriction to do this or would I have to get a BT Engineer to come and install me one as that would be the only way I could get a wired connection from the living room downstairs where my hub is to my bedroom upstairs?

  • Why does my ipod keep disconnecting and connecting every half a second?

I had my iPod touch (4th gen, ios6) synced to a desktop and when I tried connecting it to my new laptop to sync it keeps connecting then disconnecting every half a second (flashing on and off) and will not connect at all. Do I need to do something with my old computer? I don't think it's something wrong with the cord because it connects to the wall just fine.

Different conductors/contacts are used for charging and dats. Thus, it still could be a bad cable.

  • Skype Keeps disconnecting and Re-connecting

HI There,  since last week my skype, and a couple of my skype contacts have been experiencing the same problem. Skype will stay connected for a while in the morning and then it will will start disconnecting and showing you as offline. If you whach it, you can actually see it disconnecting, looking for a connection and then connects again for a couple of seconds.  I though it was the version that I'm running so upgraded and currently running on version:5.5.0.113 but this has not changed anything. To rule out my company network I tested this at home on my home network with both my Laptop and my Pc and the result is the same.  What could it be? and how do we get arround this?

Are you using a wireless network nearby other possible wireless networks, like near or in an apartment/condo like building that might be on your same wireless channel? If so, please see this free program that can tell you if this is causing you issues as well. http://virtualtelephoneservices.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=8 If this is a laptop/notebook, it could be overheating, during long video calls, this free program can tell you if this is the case. http://almico.com/speedfan.php

  • Skype keeps disconnecting

Past week (or whenever i upgrade it to 7.2) ive noticed skype will either show my internet connection being fast(white) slow (yellow)or really bad(where it shows red bars and i'll get the blue loading circle inplace of the green icon saying im online) normally id lose connection to my internet or it would slow down extremely(i.e my facebook messenger would go offline ect ect) but it doesnt do that when it goes to slow(yellow itll tell me my reciving video is bad..which usually means its my partners connecton but then  but then 50% of the time itll go red and say im not connected when my internet is perfectly fine
I've run virus scans(avast/malwarebytes) to make sure i dont have anything(whoo clean comp)
I've reset my modem that seemed to work for a little bit then it started up again
I've run disk clean up on my c and d drives just to be sure nd ive also run disk defrag
Any other reccomendatiosn or is it jst skype being  a p.o.s?

    https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA1417/how-much-bandwidth-does-skype-need?q=bandwith
These are the bandwith requirements for Skype, I trust you are well within them. You do not mention other factors, like, are you on a wired network? Shared network? Own activity on the network? Securety meassures on computer and network, for instance. (they should be disabled when testing).
Some routers like linksys really do not like multi connections and fast packet rates (and dies).
To get some bearing on whats the cause (status) of the network/call, in a call window, go call > technical info.
This will show you bandwith used in/out, latency (roundtrip), packet loss, relays and other data important to you when troubbleshooting the connection.
Also, make sure your computer is up to date both OS wise and driver wise.

  • My Skype is disconnecting constantly

My Skype keeps disconnecting for short amounts of time (like maybe 30 seconds) and then reconnects. It does this constantly though. It happens at least every 5 minutes (sometimes even every 2 minutes) when it is at its worst. I have tried searching for an answer but nothing seems to be working. I reinstalled skype and it still happens. It could be my internet but while my Skype is open and i am in a call, any games, videos, webpages etc. do not lose internet connection when Skype does. Also, sometimes after disconnecting and reconnecting a few times it will force me to hang up and sometimes I will not be able to rejoin any calls until I logout then log back into skype. Please help. Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Skype account keeps disconnecting after 30 seconds

    hi guys,
its driving me nuts.  my skype account keeps disconnecting after 30 seconds and i haven't even done anything.  it does it on windows, and on my iphone too.
what's going on? is this a problem with skype?  i've seen similar posts. and i'm using skype 6.20

That generally means there is an issue with your Microsoft account.  You may have to verify some settings in your account to make sure a configuration isn't causing it.  The only solution I'm aware of is temporarily unlinking your account.  I do not know if reconnecting it will resolve the issue right away.

  • Airport keep disconnecting every few minutes

    Hi,
I don't know why, but my airport keeps disconnecting every few minutes, although it reconnects after that.
I'm sure there's no problem with my router since other PCs in my home are fine.
It's totally fine when I use my windows in the macbook (via bootcamp).
Anyone has the same problem or anyone knows the solution?
    Thanks.

I've had this issue for about a week and it has made my Macbook nearly impossible to use for anything other than local disk work.
Last night I tried running the standalone upgrade and it worked beautifully, however, upon booting up this AM I'm back to square one, constantly dropping the connection, ran the standalone update again and back in business with no drops.
While this is appears to be my temp workaround I don't want to be doing this on a daily basis.

  • Skype disconnects my Wifi every time I use video.

Skype disconnects my Wifi every time I use video. About a minute or so after using video as opposed to just voice my Internet connection fails. Little red X telling my home network dosen't exist.  I have to use the diagnose problems feature to get it back and sometimes that dosent even work. Shutting down my wifi card is a pretty extreme glitch. I have no other connection issues, have 30+mbps and run a pretty standard setup: Firefox windows 7 etc. Any help would be appreciated. thanks

Skype doesn't attack Internet connections.  It doesn't do anything abnormal that your computer/network shouldn't be able to handle.  If you Internet connection is failing the issue lies either in your router, your line, or locally on your computer due to lack of resources/power when using simultaneous devices in your computer (audio, video, wireless card all being USB based).  If it's only related to the wireless card then it's going to be a USB resource (USB bandwidth/power) or driver issue.  Distance is also a consideration if it can't sustain a connection so you can always try to move closer to your wireless router to see if it makes any difference.
You need to isolate the issue to one of the things I mentioned above.  Try wired instead of wireless, try to bypass the router, or disable uPnP in Skype or your router as it may have issues with it.

My iPad WiFi Almost Every Day Keeps Disconnecting, especially if I am watching a video online. How do I fix this?

    Howdy Danny_98,
Here is a great article to help troubleshoot wifi connectivity with your iOS device. Named iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections it can be found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1398.
Be sure that you are in range of your Wi-Fi router (access point).
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and then on again. If unable to do so, see this article.
Confirm that your Wi-Fi router and Cable or DSL modem are connected to power, turned on, and indicate that they are connected to the Internet. If not, refer to your network administrator or ISP for assistance.
    Restart your iOS device.
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you are connected. Then tap > and Forget this Network. Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network again.
Note: You will need to enter your Wi-Fi password again if your desired network requires one.
Turn your Wi-Fi router off and then on again2. If your ISP also provides cable or phone service, check with them before attempting this step to avoid interruption of service.
Update your device to the latest version of software.
Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware2.For AirPort Base Stations, see this article for information about firmware updates.
Those are the basic troubleshooting steps and there is another section toward the bottom named Wi-Fi disconnects, or signal strength is less than expected that is very relevant as well.
    Regards,
    Sterling

  • Being in one on one skype calls disconnects my int...

When im using skype and when im hosting a call my internet keeps disconnecting every few minutes. My internet is fine when not hosting a call or in a group call when someone else is hosting. this problem is occurring for 2 months now and before i was always the guy to host calls. I have tried the standard things like: Use port 80 and 443 and disable upnp. Im really annoyed.

That sounds like an issue with your router.  Try bypassing your router to see what happens.  If you router has any firmware updates available, apply them.

  • Skype keeps me logged in

    Hello,
for the past one year or so, Skype keeps me logged in even though I've logged out and/or shut down my computer.
I don't have it installed on any other devices or other computers.
I have changed my password, forcing every other client to disconnect but still it keeps me logged in, even though my PC is turned off.
    Thanks

You can try the /showplaces and /remotelogout chat commands.
