Skype launches on start up and then hangs

and Force Quit doesnt work. First - how do I get it to Force Quit and then how do I get Skype to stop launching on start up - or can I interupt the Skype start up somehow before it hangs. Skype upgraded itself yesterday and something clearly went wrong.

when you right click on the icon and force quit there doesn't work give "Commandoptionesc" a try, usually works better with that
and if that doesn't work you'll have to use activity monitor
about it hanging i don't know how to fix it you should ask the people over at skype
to get it to stop auto launching when you start up go to
system preferences --> Accounts--> (your account) --> login items-->find skype---> highlight it--> hit the '-' button

Might have a hardware issue that was caused by the minor liquid spill.
Take it to Apple to have them look at it. I think they do a free diagnostics. That way you can find out what's wrong with your MB.

Try restoring from a backup. Connect the iPhone to your computer, launch iTunes. Right or control click the iPhone under Devices in the source list then click: Restore from Backup.

Try the steps below and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Run the software setup file as an administrator and check if it helps.
a. Right click on the setup file of the software that you are trying to install.

At night, as soon as I plug my iphone to be recharged, my iphone starts behaving abnormaly. It is like somebody has taken control of it. I see the screens moving, music starts playing and then stopping, etc.

What I do is in Settings is to change into Plane Mode, thinking that, may be if I do that, somebody that has taking control of it will not be able to download data. Yesterday night, I was awakened by an alarm, whose setting I did not changed. When I looked over, the alarm screen changed to Settings and the Plane Mode changed alone in front of my eyes, from on to off.
I have not observed such a situation during the day. Only when I plug the cable.
I suspected that may be there is no Trojan installed. May be the cable, which is a spare cable, has been modified by a hacker, and it has electronics installed in the connector. But tested with the original cable, and the behavior was the same, as described above.

It could be that both cable are bad. But, anyway, you would not expect any of these manifestations, even with a bad cable. I had bad cable for my 4s, and never saw such a thing!
I contacted by chat the support of Apple. They told me that this behavior could be a software problem and recommended me to do a full recover of my iphone. That meant, putting in at the factory conditions and recup all the data from the backup. I did that, and the behavior did not change. The backup was made with the data of my PC, not icloud. Tomorrow will try with icloud and check if that will work.

I am unable to re-install itunes. The installer starts ok and then indicates that it can not access a network !!

Presuming you get the chime, most of your Mac hardware is working and has passed the first part of the power-on self-test.
If the screen comes on, basic graphics is working.
The dark gray Apple is not present inside the Mac -- it must be loaded from a boot device. If the dark gray Apple appears, at least one of your boot devices has some capabilities. The flower petal/gear moves while Darwin is initializing and loading. If it stops immediately, something is terribly wrong.
When the screen turns blue, Mac OS X has loaded and your graphics card transitions to Interrupt-driven operation. LoginWindow task draws the login screen, and Mac OS X is ready for login.
What could be the problem depends on where in the process it stops, and whether the power light is blinking.

I have let it load until NFCU asks me if I want to cancel the session, a much to long of a load time. Has anyone else reported having this issue with NFCU or Mozilla Firefox 3.6.18?

E9280t boots to Starting Windows and then monitor loses signal

PC just arrived last night and is giving me fits. Upon boot it will proceed to the Starting Windows and then the monitor goes black and I get a No Input Signal message. I can hear the Windows startup sounds but it will never go any farther.
I can furiously click to put the system to sleep and after it goes into sleep mode I can power the system off and back on and it will boot to Resuming Windows and then work fine. However the next time I reboot the system it goes back to the Starting Windows issue.
Help please of this thing is going back to HP in pieces.
Video Card is ATI 4850 1GB
Motherboard bios version is 5.24

Thanks for the reply, but sadly I've already been there and done that. and couldn't get into windows that way at all. In the process of updating the ATI drivers to see if that helps.....

Your iPHone is designed by intention to shut off when there is a reason for the softwarer to believe that danger is immenent to the hardware. This can occurr if the software is running applications that have been corrupted due to all types of different scenarios. My best advice to you would be to restore your device back to default manufactures settings and do NOT restore the current backup of the IOS program currently running.
If this corrects the problem with your device intermittently restarting you will then know you have had applications there were corrupted on your device. Once you are convinced there are no issues with the hardware of your device you then are free to begin downloading software apps that were earlier on the device.

If you cannot close the Pen Tool by switching to another tool, as a temporary measure you may try pressing P (for Pen).
To solve it, you may try the list.
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
If possible/applicable, you should save curent artwork first, of course.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.
