Skype name and contact list

Dear All,
I had to change my password. Unfortunately my skype name was changed, too.So, I lost my skype contact list. How can I get back the contact list and my previous skype name?

Your report reads to me like your account was compromised (hacked). If you still have control of it, sign on to the account dashboard and change your account's registered e-mail address to something else, and then change the password.
Also, as a proactive measure, ensure your computer's software and patches are updated, and run your preferred anti-virus/malware/spyware program using the most recent virus signature files available.
If you have lost access to your account, you may need to create a new account to use so you can contact Skype Customer Service in order to recover the first account. Here is a link to the instruction on how to contact Skype Customer Service via their secure portal: Contact Customer Service
Skype is aware of lingering problems with the website when contacting their customer service agents. If you experience difficulty reaching Skype Customer Service or find yourself redirected back to the Community, please try again using a different web browser and choosing a different path through the various drop-down menu options presented. Also, look to approve a pop-up dialogue box which would connect you to start an instant message chat with a customer service agent. If you have pop-ups blocked in your browser settings, this will also block reaching an agent.

check in settings > mail contacts calendars, and in the contacts area you should be able to change how the names are viewed

Printing Company Name and Contact Name on Labels

Does anyone know how to print BOTH the company name and contact name on the label in address book? I have read the "fixes" but they won't work for me .. I have a 10,000 person mailing list ... so I can't hand fix each one. Will this problem with address book be fixed in Leopard?

I think the only way to do this is with a 3rd-party application such as Roll Call Directory, which reads the AB database but gives you greater flexibility in printing labels.

Hi,
Can someone please help me? I'm trying to login using my usual login name but it says "Your skype name and password were not recignized". I used it few of days ago and it was fine until last Sunday (04-Dec). I've already contacted support team 2 days ago but they don't seem to care too much!
Can someone explain me what is going on?

Certainly skype has some way to retrieve a lost password. Contact them.

View middle name in contact list, nokia asha 302

Hello everyone.
I have a problem. I have a big contact list and there are contacts with middle names. But I can't understand how can I see contact's middle name in my Nokia Asha 302 contact list.
I saw the same problem here: http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Eseries-and-Communicators/How-to-display-First-Name-Middle-Name-Last... But there's no help answers.
Does anybody know, is it possible to view middle names in contact list? I don't want to edit all middle names by concatinating first and middle name.

On certain devices (especially S40 such as the Nokia Asha 302) the 'Middle Name' Field may not be possible. It may not be available under 'Add Details' too ...

Searching Vietnamese Name in Contact List

Hi,
I've just used BB10 (10.3.0.x) for Q10) for a week, and I have an issue about Searching Vietnamese Name in Contact List:
In BBOS, if I wanna search Vietnamese Name (ex: Đoàn), I just type "Doan"
But in BB10, I must type proper Vietnamese Name (ex: "Đoàn", not "Doan") to get the correct result.
Could you please show me how to fix this issue ?

Removing name from contact list

There is a group to which I send a general e mail a few times a month. I have these contacts listed under a group name, so when I type in the group name under "To" all the names appear. There is one person who no longer wants to receive the group notices, and I have completely removed her name and contact information from my address book, but when I type the group name in my "To" box her name still appears. She has a "hotmail" account, as do several other members of my group. Is there anything else I can do, short of trying to remember to delete her name every time I send an e mail to this group?

When you get hold of one of those first line reps on the phone, it depends very much on just who happened to answer the call. Some of them are very good. Others not so much. The only reason I found out about the memory for the To: line is that another poster had asked about it and I contacted Plaxo about it. There was an exchange of emails and they explained how the thing works.
Do you see "Forget" to the right of the first 3 o 4 names when that list comes up? I had no idea what that was for. It is the automated sorting software that the mail program uses to determine what addresses you use most often when typing in a given letter/word combination into the To: field. It then ranks them in that order. If you want it to change you click on Forget and it should remove it from the spot in the list. At least that's what was explained to me. But when I first asked them about it they tried to tell me it was something to do with my browser, which it is not. So I sent them a screen shot of it and then they said "oh wait----yeah------that thingy", and then gave me the correct information.
They don't all know all the features of the mail program or address book.

TS1702 I have the Ipod Touch and installed Skype. I have an account with Skype but when I try to connect my Ipod, I receive a message saying " We didn't recognize your Skype Name and password" I connect to Skype through my Facebook account.

Try contacting/going to their support site either/or Skype or FB. I would start with Skype

even with an application or from the setting of the iPhone itself, but without telling me a solution like writting the company name in the contact name field.
This is a very important option, i think it is a must, not an option and apple should fix this problem fastly. because it is already available in the older models of iPhone like iPhone 3G and 3GS.
How an important feature like this could be available in old models, but in the later models is not available?

Currently not possible without putting the company name in the contact name's field. AFAIK, it's never been available on any iOS version.
You might check the App Store for an app that can do this although I'm pretty sure you won't find one.

I have several skype names, and if I want to use more than 1, do I need to have a separate account for each name, or do the minutes purchased apply to my email address, not to the skype name?

Each Skype name is a different account, so anything purchased by that account can be used only for or on that account. In other words, purchases are tied to a specific Skype account, not to an e-mail address.

P.S. Please, don’t say that you are not using Internet Explorer. This is irrelevant. Skype depends on Internet Explorer.

All I know is my Skype name, and the e-mail is no ...

I created an account for my father in law a long time ago, so that hencould talk to his grandchildren. This worked fine, until he got a new computer, and we should log in again. The password is not what we thought it would be, and we don't remember which mail it is registered on - but suspect this mail is no longer in use (new ISP - new mail). All we know is the skype name, and we don't have a way to recover the password. Is it possible to solve this in a good manner? Btw. The skype name is firstname.lastname, and he is the only one in the world (definitely) to have this name. Should not be much chance of misuse of the name... Any ideas?

if you don't have a purchase history, it is not possible to request for a new password for that account. However, if it will remain inactive for at least 6 months I think, it will be tagged as inactive and will be removed from search results.

Iphoto app and Contacts List vanished

Dear Apple,
My iPhoto app and Contacts list have disappeared from both my desktop and my Time Machine ( recently restored my internal harddrive from external HD ).
1) Can I select just iPhoto for installation from the system disk ?
2) I can highlight my complete Contacts list from several weeks ago in Time Machine, but when restored to today, the desired target ( Contacts ) is grayed out. Do I need to create a temporary "Contacts*" app to be later renamed without a distinctive character ? I have created "Contacts" folder, which is unrecognized by Mail.
Any guidance would be appreciated.

The iPhoto app needs to be reinstalled form its original source - either the restore disks that came with yoru computer, the pruchased iLife upgrade disks or the App store
