Skype name connnected to country

I like to know how it is possible that my skype name (and I know that there is not somebody else with the same skype name) appears in 2 countries ( Romanian and Dutch) I am living in the Netherlands so thats correct and i have visit Romania and used skype there but that was already a few month ago , but under searching it still says Romenia. Is it possible that somebody in Romenia is using my account ? Thanks

IMHO, it can't hurt to change your password for the account that you can access, ASAP.

Skype Account contact list and skype name changed

Hi!
I have been actively using my skype account again lately and one time last week when I signed in, I just cannot. My username and password are correct. And so what I did was to reset my password. I was able to reset my password through my email and when I signed in to Skype, I found out that my skype account was "hacked", I think. My skype name, profile photo and contact list changed into somebody else's account.
I just want to ask what has happened to my account? Why did that happened? The username and contact list that appears to my account, I think, was leggit and not an act of hacking. Could it be possibly that our accounts switched?

Your report reads to me like your account was compromised (hacked). If you still have control of it, sign on to the account dashboard and change your account's registered e-mail address to something else, and then change the password.
Also, as a proactive measure, ensure your computer's software and patches are updated, and run your preferred anti-virus/malware/spyware program using the most recent virus signature files available.
If you have lost access to your account, you may need to create a new account to use so you can contact Skype Customer Service in order to recover the first account. Here is a link to the instruction on how to contact Skype Customer Service via their secure portal: Contact Customer Service
Skype is aware of lingering problems with the website when contacting their customer service agents. If you experience difficulty reaching Skype Customer Service or find yourself redirected back to the Community, please try again using a different web browser and choosing a different path through the various drop-down menu options presented. If you have pop-ups blocked in your browser settings, this will also block reaching an agent.

How-can-i-remove-my-skype-name-from-the-sign-in-sc...

Guys this is absolute rubbish feature of the login application where people's login names get recorded in the dropdown menu. Is there any more permanent way of getting rid of this annoying privacy intrusive "feature"? I would like to have a profile with a username that is not going to appear at airports and my grandma's laptop after I log out of skype and no I do not want to go digging for app files to remove my entire history on each and every machine I use as suggested by your help files. Could you please advise if I'm missing something here?

How do I create a Skype Name in this new environme...

For a variety of reasons, I have created a new Microsoft Account. In attempting to set it up with Skype, I was never asked to create a Skype Name. This has created issues sining into Skype, as well as telling people how to Skype me. I do NOT want to give them my email address as my Skype contact. A Skype name is much more suited for this situation.
How do I create a Skype name that people can use to call me?
This beggs the question of why Loging into Skype and idnetification is co complicated. Associated with this one account there are the following methods of primary identification: Skype Name, Microsoft Account, Display Name, Skype Community Name, and there seems to be an additional display name for each Skype accont in the Community which begins with live: and then a modified form of the user's email address. That is A LOT to remember. I had a difficult time just logging in because it asks for my Skype name and the blank would not accept any of the aforementioned identifications. I had to get here by signing into Skype Desktop and then clicking a link to go through rather than signing in. The sign in would not accept my credentials.
Bottom line is all these issues would go away if I could figure out how to get a skype name.

Skype Name Problem

I have a problem with my skype name, because I created my account around 2005, I lost my password and I cannot restart it because Skype says:
It looks like the account associated with the Skype Name migcenel doesn’t have any billing details. Unfortunately, this means we are unable to verify your identity.
If you can access your email address don’t forget you can reset your password by clicking here or find out your Skype Name by going to this page and clicking "Forgotten your Skype Name".
The problem is that my email associated with that account is closed and I really need to get back my skype name because is my unique name in all my accounts.
Can you help me with this?

I just found your post in the Skype Manager message board today (6/11/2012).
Unfortunately, you may not be able to recover your account if you cannot prove the ownership of it to Skype Customer Service. While I appreciate the inconvenience, this is for our safety and security. Here is the link to an FAQ article with more information:

"Your skype name and password were not recignized"

Hi,
Can someone please help me? I'm trying to login using my usual login name but it says "Your skype name and password were not recignized". I used it few of days ago and it was fine until last Sunday (04-Dec). I've already contacted support team 2 days ago but they don't seem to care too much!
Can someone explain me what is going on?

CS should have responded by now. Let me know if you still have no response and I will escalate your issue for you. Your account may have been compromised.

First things, first: change your account password immediately. If you have a payment method saved in your account, either delete it or ensure with the issuer of the payment method that no fraudulent charges have been posted.
Next, check that the most recent updates to your computer/operating system or device have been downloaded and installed. Also, update the files on your anti-virus software and run it as well.

My skype name is emarquit. Someone has taken over my account
All calls and charges after August 19 are fraudulent
Card begins with542e18 and end with 1985.
I called my the bank issuing the card and they have cancelled it.
On the Skype web site I click on customer service but am unable to find a place to report this. What can I do so that the matter is resolved without skype blocking my account?

Skype name token?

I received three e.mails from skype giving me my skype name (one different from the one i have). "Your skype name token" and asking me to follow a link to discover it and enter my e.mail adresse. And then i received reminders about it, as i was a new user..and i am not.
what is it? i did not ask for any new skype name or token...
do i have to follow the link and enter my e.mail. Is it a scam?

Me too. I wish MS would let me have one ID and password for all of MS apps? I am going to ignor this request and continue to use the one thats been working.

Skype name login

I have forgotten my password for my Skype Name account. When I try to recover it I am only given an option to reset the passwords on my hotmail accounts not my skype named account. I don't want to change those passwords, just the one associated with my Skype Name.
The email address associated with the account is a work address and is no longer accessible. The mobile number associated with the account is no longer active, so I have no way of receiving any codes.
When I tried to update the info it won't save without entering the password - an infinite loop!
Now that my auto log in no longer works I can't even access the Skype name accout. It has money in the profile that I want to use for landline calls, but I can't get past the security.
Any ideas?

Skype name vs display name in chat

I have been in a group chat for a long time. There are several hundred members of the chat. I am not the administrator.
I have recently realized (as a result of some attribution problems relating to various messages on the chat) that Skype is mixing up Skype names and display names in the chat thread. With hundreds of members, this is more than annoying – it has already caused some friction.
In summary, a series of posts by some members show up with a mix of their Skype name and their display name. This can happen when their posts are only minutes apart. It does not happen with all members.
Does anyone have experience of this? Is there anything I or the administrator can do to fix it? I know I can set anyone's display name locally to whatever I like. I also know that adding them to my contact list might lock in the display name. But there are hundreds of members of this chat; I don't want them all in my contacts and I don't want to manually adjust them all!

Do you mind sharing a screenshot of where exactly you see this "(1)"? Please blur/remove any occurrence of private information on that screenshot. But that picture would tell a lot more about what we are dealing with here.

Skype Name Changed (Yes! my Skype name. Not my Dis...

So i attempted to sign in with my original, as i believe, Skype name and password. They were both accurate. (Trust me. The ink was not smudged.) Sign in failed. Repeatedly. i asked for a reset of the password. Followed the procedure and reset my password. Sign in again failed. Repeatedly.
At this point i noticed that the Skpe Email reset was showing my account name but it was differrent by one character to my original, as i believe and had recorded, Skype name, i reset the password again and then using this new 'Skype name', with the altered character, signed in. Voilà! It worked.
Everything says you cannot change your Skype name. Display name, yes. Skype name, no. A new account is required if you want a new Skype name. So how come my Skype name has changed? [Since at least April 2013, (maybe even earlier).]
i would appreciate a Skype employee's response, thank you. Then i can go into the details by email.

Here's the deal: I have more than one apple ID. Actually many of us do. @ mac dot com, dot me dot com, over the past decade there have been lots o "Apple IDs" (as they're called).
So one was attached to my file syncing, another attached to my iTunes money. I still do not know how my wife's name got in there (maybe "family sharing with ios8 is trying to take over?), but I was able to fix it at least by logging into different IDs on different machines.

I have several skype names, and if I want to use more than 1, do I need to have a separate account for each name, or do the minutes purchased apply to my email address, not to the skype name?

Each Skype name is a different account, so anything purchased by that account can be used only for or on that account. In other words, purchases are tied to a specific Skype account, not to an e-mail address.
