The problem is with your Internet Explorer and JavaScript.
Please, answer first these questions:
What version of Windows are you on? Is it 32-bit or 64-bit?
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827218
What is the version of Internet Explorer installed on your computer?
In Internet Explorer go to Help -> About Internet Explorer.
P.S. Please, don’t say that you are not using Internet Explorer. This is irrelevant. Skype depends on Internet Explorer.

Unfortunately the truth is prepaid support is not very well trained and was
    not much help
My issue was solved ultimately not by prepaid support but upper level
support in NJ (or NY, not sure).
The problem was that my line was provisioned as having a 1X device (which I
never had). So even though we tried switching the device to an iPhone and
reprogramming it didn't matter. Any incoming MMS were simply discarded by
the system and all I would get were the silent SMS messages that ping my
phone to check the MMS server, but nothing was held to be retrieved.
If you are on VZW (pre or post paid) and having this problem, ask support
to check the "Mobile Type" and ensure its not set to 1X.

  • Skype not connecting calls/give notifications

Hi I live in Canada, and my friend lives in United States.
For the last few months, whenever he sends me a message I do not get a notification, at first I thought it was because my status was set on Busy for a day, but that wasn't the case at all. I also have Windows 7 on my laptop, his is the same, and we both have the latest version installed.
My status is set at Away, and if anyone else messages me, I get a notification, I don't receive from this specific person. The same thing happened to my ex boyfriend as well as my best friend, I don't get a message notification at all. And I didn't do anything to the settings that may have caused this, it just happened one day to each of them. I noticed that these 3 people were the ones I talk to the most, and I suppose someone else is about to be on the 'No Notifications list'
Is there any way to fix this?
Also I'm trying to call my friend on Skype today on my laptop, the same one that doesn't give notifications, and the call won't connect on my side nor his side. Yet the call goes through my phone only and then in the chat Skype claims that we have missed calls from each other. I restarted my laptop, and I reinstalled Skype, as well as reset my network and nothing is working.
This is getting ridiculous. I really need help please.

I have the exact same problem.
Also with iMac, and iPhone latest Skype software versions on both.
Been like this for some months now.  But not on all calls.  Sometimes works perfectly ok - sometimes not!  Sometimes - always fails with particular contacts but not others.
Problem is with outgoing call, not ringing, not connecting, just failing for no reason.
I expect a lot of people have experienced this, and just try again later on.
But, there doesn't seem to be any fixes anytime soon on this community.
The worry is:- does anyone at Skype tech support ever look at these mails at all!

  • Skype not connecting outgoing calls.

This started last week, for some reason my Skype won't connect to the majority of my contacts (Skype to Skype calls).  It will say "connecting", not ring, and then show "Call ended - error."
Does anyone have a solution for this?  It's happening on both my MacBook Air and my iPhone.  These people are online and can Skype me so this is really confusing and frustrating.  I rely on Skype because I live on the other side of the world from my family.  It is literally our only communication.  I've been using it religiously since 2006 and it's only started doing things like this the last few months.
And yes, I do have the latest version of Skype installed.

  • Skype not connecting with latest versions 7.7

I am using OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 and Skype 7.7.
It wasn't connecting when I was using a previous version of Skype. I trashed it and reinstalled the latest new, but it's still not working.
My PC and my phone is working fine with Skype so it's not my network.
Neither one of my Skype accounts (work and personal) are connecting.
My App store doesnt have any pending updates
I have no idea what else I can do.

Maybe you did look at Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support folder instead of your Home~/Library/Application Support folder ?
    -  In Finder, press the Option (alt) key and open the Go menu in the menu bar.
    -  Keeping Option pressed, select "Library" from the menu.
    -  Open the "Application Support" folder,
    -  The "Skype" folder shoud be found inside.

  • Skype Not Connecting Properly

Starting today Skype refuses to connect. (it works fine on Windows, and the password wasn't changed). It just shows the connecting icon, and nothing happens.
Connects properly after around 5 minutes.

I guess I am kind of glad someone else is having this problem more recently. I think it is tied to a recent update that Skype did. My in bound number stopped working right 2 weeks ago. They managed to fix some of it, so I do get calls now from Verizon and land lines - most land lines. I cannot get a call from a T-Mobile phone to save my soul.
It rings, and when I go to pick it up - it just disconnects in one second.
The party calling doesn't even hear it ring.
Many of them just give up and hang up.
It does also NOT forward nor offer voice mail
And it is not my settings - almost every other caller works just fine.
And I have the problem on multiple computers, multiple gadgets, android, ios, etc.
Skype support - help us out here.
Remember, we're all in this together, and I'm pulling for you.

  • Skype not connecting

For some reason Skype doesn't connect on the Mac, but everyone around me that has a Microsoft PC has no trouble.
I used to get access but it just stopped working - I've got an airport extreme wireless.
Wasn't really a problem because a neighbour let me tap into his wireless (Linksys) whic worked fine, but he's moved so have lost that connection - there's only one ISP provider here as well.
I know this is garbled, if if anyone can make sense of it and give me some pointers I'd appreciate it.

    David Delaney-
    Good question.
Under ->Sharing ->Firewall something on your computer will probably need to be enabled if the firewall is on.
What you could do for experimental purposes is stop the firewall and see if Skype works. If it does, then work the problem backwards from there.
I do not use Skype so my hope is that someone with experience will jump in and complete the picture for you.
    Luck-

  • Skype not connecting to internet

When I go on Skype, it doesn't let me connect through Microsoft or Facebook. I suspect this is because of the fact that the Internet Browser on my computer doesn't work that well, and it doesn't show Facebook or Outlook. (I mainly use Chrome.)
Is there a way to change the browser or fix this issue?

Skype depends on Internet Explorer, and if this broeser is broken, the same will be the case with Skype.
What version of Windows are you on (XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 )? Is it 32-bit or 64-bit?

  • How do I get a password for an Apple ID not connected to a valid email account

since upgrading ios 6.0, my updates are tied to an account I haven't used for a long time.  I tried to change the password, but if Apple is sending me the password change message it is going to an email account I no longer access.  It's a nuisance becasue I now have to delete and add all apps in the ID I have been using for a long time to get updates.

You can call tech support at 1-800-APL-CARE, if you can verify your identity with info such as the credit card on file for your account, you product serial number, you might be able to talk to account security and have a password reset done by them. Once that is done, then you can edit your account and add a valid email address.

I have a desk top computer windows 7 operating system. My skype version is 7.1.59.105. I've called this person before and everything worked fine, also I can call other people from my contacts without any problem. This started about a week ogo. Any suggestions? Thanks

  • Skype 7.7 Not connecting to internet

When I first bought my new computer, I downloaded Skype and it worked perfectly. When I updated Skype, my calls started getting worse connection and then flat out Skype not connecting to the internet anymore. I check to see if my internet was down, but I could load up games and websites just fine. I've tried all the troubleshootings I've seen and nothing has worked, I need some help. Thank you.

Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

  • Validating login and password via ODBC

    Hi,
We've written an ASP web application that accesses the Oracle database for various retrieve / store functions as we go. On the first screen the user enters their Oracle username and password, and these values are POSTed to each page and used whenever it needs to make a connection. We can connect using a valid login/password just fine, but an invalid combination returns an OLEDB error. Anyone know how we can catch an OLEDB error and display a user-friendly "Invalid login / password" message onn that first screen instead?
I know it's really an ASP question, but surely we can't be the only people on the planet who've tried to do this?
    Dave

Mmm, its pretty clear he's using the ASP programming language. Try some On Error statements... Double-check your username/password is right. But even before the attempt to make a successful conncetion through your ODBC Manager.

  • Error Installing SQL Server Express 2008: '' is not a valid login or you do not have permission.

I have tried installing SQL Server 2008 multiple times on my machine, and I always receive this error about 3/4 of the way through: '' is not a valid login or you do not have permission.
I have tried installing both SQL Server Express 2008 with Tools and SQL Server Express 2008 with Advanced Services, and they both fail the same way. I am trying to do a new stand-alone installation.
I'm running Windows XP Home Edition SP3.
Looking into the error, some forums say I have to install it from THE Administrator account, and not an account with administrator permissions; it also cannot be in Safe Mode, because then the Windows Installer won't work. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to login to the Administrator account. I can go to the home login screen, do ctrl+alt+del twice, and attempt to login to the Administrator account, but I receive this error: Unable to Log You on because of an Account Restriction.
Other forums say that in the Server Configuration section, all you have to do is provide the username and a strong password from an administrative account on the computer, and it doesn't have to be THE Administrator. Well, I did that, but for some reason it doesn't recognize my username and password, it says something like "The credentials you provided for the SQL Server Agent are invalid". BUT THOSE ARE THE CORRECT CREDENTIALS FOR MY ADMINISTRATIVE USER! So I'm forced to use one of the accounts without a password, like NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM. That's the only way I can get past this step.
Also, just FYI, on the next step, which is Database Engine Configuration, I am using Mixed Mode for the Security Mode. I AGAIN provide a password, and then add my current user (who IS an administrator on my machine!) to the SQL Server Administrators box.
But yet, it fails every single time.
This is pathetic and ridiculous. I must have tried to install this thing 15 times, that is not an exaggeration. I'm posting this on several other forums as well, maybe an MVP or Bill Gates himself can help me.
I have one of the log files from a failed installation. If someone would like to see it, I will post it.

PS : if you are talking about the Sql Server Agent Service, it is disabled for Sql Server Express. It is enabled only for the Workgroup/Standard/Dev and Entreprise Editions
Sorry, but I've tried the suggestion in that link, and it hasn't helped me.
For anyone wonder, the link is talking about the problem in Server Configuration where I enter my Windows user account and password (which is in the Administrative group), but it says the credentials are invalid.  The link suggests that you need to either enter your Windows account (which I did, and it wouldn't let me go to the next step), or to use one of the built in accounts (which I also tried, but it gave me the " '' is not a valid login" error during the installation).
    Any other ideas?
I haven't had any answers from any other forums either, so I'll just post my log file in case anyone wants to look at this:

  • I updated an iPod touch, an iPad 2, and an iPhone 4 to iOS 6, and all of them now will not connect to WiFi. They all give this wierd 404 error page from Apple and insist that I need to login to the network. Bad job testing the software Apple.

I updated an iPod touch, an iPad 2, and an iPhone 4 to iOS 6, and all of them now will not connect to WiFi. They all give this wierd 404 error page from Apple and insist that I need to login to the network. What's the fix? None of the recommended fixes work in any of these devices. Reset device, reset network, renew lease, etc. None of them work.

    Does the iPod work OK?
Does it charge when connect to the computer?
Does it appear in My Computer?
Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Compare with the iPod that does work/connect.
I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1

    iPod touch (3rd generation)
iPod touch (3rd generation) features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and 32 GB or 64 GB flash drive. You can browse the web with Safari and watch YouTube videos with Wi-Fi. You can also search, preview, and buy songs from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPod touch.
The iPod touch (3rd generation) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. In the text below the engraving, look for the model number. iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288, and iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318.

  • "Could not connect" error on skype.

I get an error saying "Det gick inte att ansluta" (Swedish) which means "Could not connect", I've tried everything, youtube vids rebooting computer, removing skype folders and reinstalling skype several times even downloading an earlier version of skype.
The current version I have is: 7.1.80.102
I really need skype working as soon as possible as me and my friend are programming a game and I'm teaching him some stuff, if you can help I'll be happy ,
One note, this all started after connecting my iPad to the computer and then got an error saying something like "bad usb" in a notification, after this it worked but one day later (today) I tried using it and it worked at first I was online but the soundcard didn't work I could hear my friend but could not talk to him, after this I started having troubles, skype was showing "connecting" status instead of online all the time, which made it inpossible to even chat, so I restarted skype and same error, after restarting again I noticed the error "Could not connect", Since then I've tried *EVERYTHING* I can promise you.
    Solved!

Norton and McAfee Security Scan Plus, althought I mostly use Norton.
First, you should never have two different Antivirus applications installed at the same time. Often they will just conflict with each other.
I would suggest to completely uninstall McAfee.

Try also to disable Norton Firewall.
