Skype not detecting webcam. Again.

So, I had this problem a while ago and downgrading to an older version of skype fixed it.
Now, however, I was forced to upgrade to the latest version of Skype again because it would no longer connect with the older version, and ust like before it refuses to acknowledge that I have a webcam.
Using windows 7
Latest version of Skype
Updated drivers
USB 2.0 UVC 1M webam (built in)

Hi,
I have a HP Pavilion DV3000 series laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit. After the recent update of my Skype to 6.20 skype is not detecting my in-built webcam. I tried installing the older version as per other threads found in the community but Skype is not allowing to login with it.
Please help me to resolve this as it is very disappointing to see an update has made skype of no use.

Mac OSX 10.5.7 Leopard can not detect webcam

Hello Support,
I am using Mac OSX 10.5.7 Leopard in Safari and FireFox however Flash Player v 9 and 10 does not detect my isight webcam (firewire). I can not even change my settings to choose a webcam because the image that I get when I go to the settings is just a screenshot but not interactive. I have attached the picture.
Does Flash player work in Mac OSX 10.5.7 Leopard Safari and FireFox? I get as far as the allow or deny button, then I get a error message saying that my cam is not detected.
Can you please advise.

Man... gmax3100 have a POOR opengl performance under Mac Osx Leopard in 2d. It is NOT my problem but it is a known problem. Try to run some benchmark with gma950 and gma x3100.
Macbook c2d 2.2 opengl performance x3100: 23.28
MacMini cd 1.6 opengl performance gma950: 184.76

exposè make 40fps and it is NOT fluid like a nvidia or ati card. Exposè is a simple animation, under arch linux and geforce3 (2001) is more more fluid respect leopard... and respect to tiger.
with this hack:
sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver Compositor -dict deferredUpdates 0
exposè is much MORE fluid so it is a driver problem (because with tiger there's no problem!!)
I have NO problem with my macbook.

Skype not detecting camera

Skype is not detecting my camera, even though it is working just fine. I tried using my camera with webcamtoy and it had no trouble at all. I have also used this same camera before with skype, with no problems, a long time ago (about 1 year and a half), but for some reason it is not working now. My laptop is an Asus K53sv, and the camera is the one that comes integrated with it, a 0.3 Mega Pixel Fixed web camera. Can someone help me please? I would like to be able to use video calls without having to buy a new camera...

Unfortunately there is no Skype version available that will work with video on your computer. You have an old CPU without support for the SSE2 instruction set. SSE2 is now an absolute requirement for video being enabled on Skype.

I've been able to use the video call perfectly fine up until this past week. Skype is not able to detect my webcam at all and on my Device Manager, my HD Webcam 101 says that it is working properly.
I've tried disabling and then enabling it. It works! But, the same issue re-occurs whenever I restart my laptop. Obviously, I don't want to keep doing that procedure just to get it working. Is there anyway you guys can help me fix this issue? It is becoming a big problem because I make a lot of business video calls over Skype. Thanks...hope I get a response asap.

Are you starting Skype automatically when you start Windows, or do you start Skype manually after Windows is already running? If you're starting Skype with Windows, try changing to letting Windows start before starting Skype to see if that makes any difference.
When Skype doesn't detect your webcam, if you click on Tools > Options > Video settings, what does it say in the "Select webcam" box? If you click on the pull down arrow next to that box, are there choices that can be selected there?
If there is nothing that can be selected in Video settings, and since you weren't having this problem up until recently, you can try recetting your Skype configuration files with this procedure:
Quit Skype. Hold the Windows key and type r. In the box that comes up type %appdata% <enter>. Scroll down to find the \Skype folder and rename it something like \Skype_old. Restart Skype.
Note: Renaming the Skype folder will move IM and call history to the renamed folder. They can be recovered with a few extra steps.

I've been having this same problem for a couple months now. Skype starts up fine; I can do voice calls and texts fine, but some reason Skype does not recognize my intergrated webcam on my laptop. The webcam works fine, I've tested it on other applications. I also tried attaching an external webcam and Skype does not recognize that either. I currently am running the most recent version of Skype (7.6.0.105). I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling an older version of Skype as well (6.1.0.129 and 6.14.0.104) and neither of them work. Pc not detecting webcam after downloading software

I used to use a Creative Webcam Instant for the past 3 years. I unistalled it and bought the Creative Webcam Live Model #VF0050 & installed the software and now when I go to use it I get a message saying "NO SUPPORTED CREATIVE CAMERA DETECTED...PLEASE PUG IN TO CONTINUE"It is plugged in and it still dont recognize it. I unistalled & did it all again & still doesnt detect it. I installed my old one again & now its not recognized either. I try to click on "My Computer" to verify installation & I dont have the "Properties" option...am I over looking it'sIs something blocking it or what?ThanksRoxt

You don't download IOS onto your iPhone.
Use computer iTunes with your iPhone connected and selected.
Select Summary tab in iTunes and click the Check for Update button.

Not detecting webcam

I have just installed skype for the first time on my laptop. I have a built in webcam but it's saying there is no webcam detected. Do I need a seperate webcam or am I missing something obvious?

First check your webcam is listed in Device Manager >> Imaging Devices.
Click Start >> Run >> Type devmgmt.msc

Skype Cannot detect webcam

What exactly is your currently installed Skype version? In Skype go to Help -> About Skype.

Quicktime pro 7.1.3 does not detect webcam

I have an IBM T41 laptop with a logitech notebook webcam. my newly installed quicktime pro 7 lets me start a new audio recording session, but not a video one. My iMac lets me record a video as well. Why can quicktime not see the logitech cam on the IBM? confused.

New 27" iMac ejecting external hard drive and not detecting it consistently

I purchased my iMac from Best Buy two days ago and am wondering if I have a lemon. During the process of transferring files via an external hard drive I have noticed a number of issues. My old 2007 iMac had no problem reading the drive but my new iMac keeps ejecting the disk every couple of minutes. I will get a message in the corner of my computer stating that it was not ejected properly.
At one point, the new iMac would not read the drive at all. I plugged in my iPhone and it detected it at first but eventually ejected it and would not detect it again either, not even to charge it. I restarted the computer and it started detecting the iPhone and the external the drive, but now I am back to getting the same error message. I have tried to repair the disk using disk utility and it does not detect any problems. I also tried using every single usb port.
I would appreciate any suggestions and will be taking it back if it keeps having issues.

Webcam not detected in Skype on T500 with Windows XP Professional

I cannot use video calling on Skype because, for some reason, it does not detect my integrated camera (see T500 datasheet at http://www.lenovo.com/pdf/us/en/t400_and_t500_datasheet.pdf).

curious to know, does it work on any instant messaging program such as Y!Messenger, Windows Live Messenger?
If it does then, you will need to check with the Skype support team.
if it does not, then try uninstalling the webcam driver. let windows install its generic driver and try again

Logitech c920 Webcam not Detected in Skype 7.6.0.103

My Logitech C920 Webcam was working perfectly...and still works on all other apps on my PC (Windows 8.1) desktop.....but now Skype does not detect the webcam at all so no video calls. I'm missing my grandsons... Can anyone help me? Thanks.Michael...
