Skype not responding windows 10

Skype keeps crashing randomly and gives me "skype has stopped working" or says "not responding" at the top right of the window in the title.

The issue seems to be with Adobe Flash Player. I guess that this happens when Skype is trying to display animated ads on Skype Home or in the chat window. Be aware that Skype is using Flash Player for Internet Explorer, and this regardless which browser is set as your default browser. Open this site in your Internet Explore and check if Flash Player is working in this browser: https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html

Switching languages quickly in Windows 10 with the current version of Skype is a known issue.  Hopefully a future update will address the problem.

I am having a similar problem. Running Xp.
    Latest revision of firefox.
After using firefox for a while if I exit, parent.lock is locked and i have to reboot to reload firefox.
I have killed all firefox applications from task manager (usually there are none). and I have tried 3 different "file unlock" programs including unlocker to no avail.
I also recently installed a program that shows -all- open files, and parent.lock is not listed, and thus not closable/unlockable from there.

  • Skype not responding (No other fixes seem to work)

I'm Sorry if I am posting this in the wrong place.
This problem of mine started when I logged out of my account to switch to a different one. Skype then, when it loaded up the login screen, said 'Not responding'. After thirty seconds or so it went back to normal, not greyed out. When I clicked on the username or password boxes, it said not responding again.
I have puzzeled over this for a couple of days now. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Skype again and also this fix: (this did work for some people, so try this if you are having a similar problem.)
Try to reset all Skype settings.
Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata% and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old.
If you are on the latest Skype 6.5/6.6/6.7/6.9 version, then do also this:
Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %temp%\skype and then press Enter or click the OK button. Delete the DbTemp folder.
    Restart Skype.
N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.

  • Skype Not responding. Does not open

    Hi,
I am facing this issue from last two days. My Skype sometimes wont start at all, When I open it, the window opens and just keep loading and says not responding at the title bar.
I read these forums and tried the followings :
Uninstalling and reinstalling the skype. (Clean uninstall including entries from registry.)
    Downgrading to IE 9
Tried using previous versions of Skype.
Deleted skype profiles from appdata and temp folder.
    Disabling Firewall
Running DxDiag (no Problems found at all)
but none of them worked. Sometimes I am able to see the login screen but once I login it just keeps loading and says not responding.
I know this is issue has already been posted but I have found none of the solutions working.

  • Adobe Reader XI "not responding" Windows 7.

Everytime I try to open a document with Adobe it freezes and gives me the "not responding" message.

    Hi susansolomon
Please navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader\ folder and double-clicked the Eula.exe. It displayed the End User License Agreement window and I clicked 'Accept'.
See if that works for you.

  • Unable to open firefox 4 after download. Getting already running or not responding window.

Firefox 4 was working well at first and then would continually freeze. Now after uninstalling and reinstalling several times, including manually, I can not open firefox at all. I keep getting the "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system." window. I have restarted my computer and looked on task manager and there is no firefox process running.
    Please help, thank you.

Well Adobe would love for you to update to CC.
But have you tried running the installer in 32-bit mode? Will the application run in 32-bit mode? I use a Mac, so I don't know, but I thought that Win 7 was supposed to have some backwards-compatibility deal where you could run legacy stuff.

  • Citrix Client M/c Not Responding - Windows 2000 Server

    Hi all,
I have Windows 2000 Server with Terminal Services and Citrix Metaframe 1.8 for Windows 2000 running on it. We are using Oracle Apps 11i and Oracle 8i on Sun Solaris 8.
The Citrix Clients are Win 95/98 m/c running ICA32. The ERP Application is run by the clients through Citrix Server using IE5.0
Some of the forms are not responding always when client is using citrix technology but the same client(s) can run the application when he is using his own IE5.0
Can somebody help us out. Is it supported by Oracle Apps 11i or not. Or some fine tuning is to done or some patches are required to be downloaded.
    Thanks in advance.

Is this a true Apps 11i environment? Why do you need to go through Citrix instead of direct browser access?

  • Every single time I try to load any page (even this one where I'm asking), it keeps either crashing or taking a very long time with "Not responding" windows status

Whenever I try to load a page, let's say: Hotmail, or Youtube or even this one (support.mozilla.com) the window gets frozen and the "Not responding" status displays on the Title bar... then after a minute or two, either loads the page or it just crashes...

The CrashIDs are what is needed. Do not attempt to attach or paste the reports.

So you are saying it works ok as long as you avoid certain pages such as this Forum. That makes me wonder if it could be malware that is blocking access to assistance.Run malwarescans with multipe and up-to-date tools.
Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

  • Outlook 2013 Not Responding Windows 8.1

I updated to 8.1 last week. Since then my Outlook (2013) will occasionally freeze. It sits at Not Responding until I close it or restart Outlook. Once it refused to send messages in my Outbox. Upon restarting Outlook the outgoing messages were lost, meaning
not in Outbox and not Sent.
My email is run on a third party Exchange Server and they believe it is a MS problem. Any thoughts on what I need to update, etc?

    Hi,
Are you using Outlook with Cached Exchange mode enabled? If not, please enable it to check the result.
Please first try to open Outlook in safe mode to check if this issue is caused by problematic add-ins. To do this, hold Ctrl key and then double-click on the Outlook shortcut to open it. If the problem would be gone in safe mode, please go to File >
Options > Add-ins and disable suspicious add-in to resolve the problem.
If above doesn't help, please follow the steps in the KB article below to troubleshoot the issue:
