Skype not using my subscription minutes

I have got a Office 365 subscription that includes 60 minutes of monthly calls in Skype. However, Skype is not using those minutes and is instead using my cash credit. I thought it would use my subscription minutes after my cash credit ended but no... I could not make any calls afterwards. So it seems the subscription is active (it says 60 minutes left) but I can't really use those minutes. Any advice?

The question has been answered countless times in the Community and on the sign-up and FAQ pages.  If you have an active subscription only calls which are covered by the subscription will deduct from the 60 minutes.  If you make a call outside the subscription, it will require credit.  No subscription supports shared cost, Premium/Special, most non-regional numbers and SMS. Office 365 subscription coverage: Call landlines and mobiles in: Canada, China, Guam, Hong Kong SAR, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Thailand, and United States. Call landlines only in: Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Brunei, Bulgaria, Chile, Colombia (excluding rural areas - LEX), Costa Rica, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guadeloupe, Hungary, Iceland, Indonesia (Jakarta only), Republic of Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, United Kingdom, and Venezuela.

    some how skype charged my credit card for the existing subscription which i ve been using for few months,and eventhough its charged on the fifth of april but in my account subscription minutes will be ready by eight of april.between 5-8 of april i can not use my subscription minutes.why i cant use my minutes eventhough skype charged me already for it.

    You purchased 400 minutes to be used per month not 400 minutes to be used whenever.  Just like any cell phone plan if you use up your allocated minutes for the month you cannot use the minutes for the following month instead you have to wait or pay for minutes at a premium or upgrade/change your plan.  The same goes for Skype.  If you use up your minutes for the month then you would have to use credit if you've exhausted your minutes for the month.  Billing is always done 3 days earlier most likely to ensure that service is not interrupted.   Subscription exhaustion is what caused your interruption.  Your next 400 minutes will not start until your new cycle begins which is 3 days after the billing date.   It will work like this as long as you have the subscription.  Even if you cancel the subscription the old subscription will be in effect until the current cycle ends.

    I recently bought a 2nd Generation 8Gb iPod Nano and can state for a fact that if you pause a song for exactly two minutes the device will turn off, probably to save batttery power. I tested it three times already and clocked it.
    However, I also noticed that my iPod also seems to turn off by itself (even when sleep / timer is not selected) when I'm shuffling through songs using the forward/next and/or rewind/back buttons repeatedly.
    Is this normal, or just a bad coincidence?
    I've tried the 5 Rs but the problem persists. It really annoys me because I have the habit of skipping lots of songs.

    It's important that you understand how Subscriptions work. You have a Colombia 120 mins 1 month plan. You have used your full 120 minutes allocation in your current billing cycle. Your next cycle starts on January 4th 2015 at which time your new minutes will be added. The date on which you purchase new minutes is irrelevant.

  • FYI.. No skype credit use for Subscription purchas...

    The other day I bought a full 3000 yen skype voucher and happily added to my credit.. I was shocked that I had no option to buy a Skype subscription in Japan with that credit.. The only way was pay pal and credit card.. What is frustrating is you can use the credit for pay as you go which is exorbitantly priced.. I was shocked as I loved calling via skype 1.5 years back when I was in Japan..  And was a very happy customer.. Needless to say I ll have to spend this credit by calling at huge rates.. Sad I must say..

  • Skype not using default browser

    I recently uninstalled Skype to revert to an older version to get rid of the horrible "Skype Home" splash screen. While I found "Skype Home" useless and irritating, it was nothing compared to what I found out when I finished uninstalling.
    These days it's quite common that when you're uninstalling a program, a browser window is launched to take you to the program's website, usually to show you some generic "we're sorry to see you leave" message. That's fair enough. However, most programs have the common courtesy to respect the user's default program settings and personal preferences and launch his default browser. This doesn't seem to be the case with Skype, for after uninstalling Skype I was shocked to see an Internet Explorer window opening.
    Really, owned by Microsoft or no, there can be no excuse for such an insult to your customers, not to mention compromising their privacy and security by force-launching the unsafest and most disliked browser out there.
    I am expecting a formal apology. 

    Skype uses IE ("Internet Explorer") as the browser interface on Windows based systems, this currently includes many windows such as the logon screen and add Contacts screen. This is fairly normal when a program uses browser logic internally, it is not changing what you use as a default browser.

  • Skype not using enough bandwidth?

    Basically, I get BW_LOW and my upload and download speed float around 5kbps on Skype. My Download speed is 18mbps and my upload speed is 5mbps. I used to be able to get over 150 kbps but now it is down to a measley 5kbps. Please help.

  • Skype Credit used before monthly subscription

    Hi. I have Skype credit (Australian $) which I bought for ringing various countries.
    However, I also have a monthly subscription for calls from New Zealand to Sweden. Whenever I call Sweden, Skype deducts from my Skype credit rather than from my monthly 120 minutes allowance provided by my monthly subscripition.
    How do I get Skype to use my free minutes (from my monthly subscription) FIRST?

    Please check  that your subscription covers calls to the Swedish number you are trying to reach - some subscriptions cover calls to land lines (also known as fixed lines), for example, and not mobile numbers.  If it does, please contact Skype customer service to report this issue.

  • Skype is using Credit instead of my subscription

    I had both Skype credit and a subscription to Paraguay, and I was able to call my daughter's cell phone. But the first subscription ran out of minutes until Jan 2nd 2012, so I bought a new one, I picked the top choice of Call World and I thought that was the one I had originally bought. Even though the new subscription was in place, today when I talked to my daughter on her cell p hone, it used my Skype credit instead of my subscription. So I cancelled my 2nd subscription until I get this figured out. Also, I cancelled my first subscription because it said I couldn't call any cell phones until Jan 2nd. I thought the 2nd subscription would allow me to continue call her cell phone. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

    My question is if there is a way to continue calling WITHOUT using skype credit after using up all minutes of subscriptions. Is there any?
    Here's my situation:
    I purchased a monthly subscription and the service started 3/11/15. I used up all the 400 minutes on 4/2/15. With an intension of starting a NEW subscription that would start 4/2, I first cancelled the existing subscription (that started on 3/11/15 and was scheduled to renew on 4/11/15) and received an email confirmation for that. Then, I got a new subscription (for the same country and for the same duration which is one month as the initial one) and confirmed that it was charged on my paypal account. I also received an email notification for the subscription delivery. It said the transaction date was 4/3/15. So I thought I could start calling on 4/3.
    Today is 4/3 and I still can't call. I checked my account, and to my surprise, it has been updated to show that my initial subscription is back!? That is the one that starts on the 11th of the month, and the current remaining minutes shows as 0 (zero.) It tells me that I will be able to start calling on 4/11. It appears that my attempt to cancel one subscription and get a new one (with a new start date) did not work since the initial one appears to keep coming back.
    Isn't it possible to cancel an existing subscription completely and sign up a new one with a new start date?  I'm trying not to purchase skype credit together with subscriptions.

    1. You don't have to cancel your existing 400 minutes Subscription unless you want to. You can have both. Yes - the new one will be activated within 1 to 2 hours of purchase.
    2. Subscriptions aren't refundable. If you wish to stop the recurring payments you should cancel the Subscription at your account page. Cancellation will be effective on your current billing period renewal date.
    3. One minute after midnight UTC/GMT.
