How do I ad my son in South Carolina, on a Skype video call?

Hi, Nyihaha, and welcome to the Community,
Here is the information on setting Caller ID:

Once you have verified your Caller ID, please remember that your Skype Number may not always appear as Caller ID - the data may not transfer from Skype to the endpoint carrier, whether it be mobile or fixed line, so the call recipient may not see your Skype Number.

What you need to do is sign on to your Skype account, via the Skype website; your Skype Number will appear when you click on the Manage Features tile or link.

Hi there,
I have been trying in vein to set my new Skype number as caller ID for all my Skype calls. The reason I purchased a Skype number was for this reason. Depsite following the how to on this page "What is caller identification and how do I set it up?" my Skype number does not appear in the drop down menu when I follow all these steps ONLY my mobile number shows up. I am a little annoyed by this and I would not have paid for a Skype number had I know you can not actual assign this number to your caller ID. Maybe I am doing something wrong however, I am tech savvy enough to follow instructions and these don't help. I hope it is possible otherwise I feel I will need to seek my money back. Thanks in advance

This depends on where your Online Number is located, as not all Online Numbers can be used for Caller ID. From my own 4 Online Numbers, I can use the numbers in the USA and UK as Caller ID, but not those from Australia or Mexico. Local/national regulations or limitations from Skype's partners providing those Online Numbers may be to blame, if your Online Number(s) can't be used as Caller ID.
To see if you can use that number as Caller ID, log into your Skype account here on the Skype web site (click on the "Account" link at the top of this page). You should be able to go in and change your Caller ID settings once you get in. If your Online Number is eligible for use as Caller ID, you should see it as an option (or maybe the only option) when you get in there. If it can't be used, then your only option would be to use the two-step SMS verification process and set a mobile number as your Caller ID when calling telephones from Skype.

My Skype number is calling people

Hi,
I got many complaints that my number is bothering people repeatedly for the last 2 weeks.
Is there something I can do?

I have the same problem. People call me back on my skype number and ask if I have called them, when I have not done so. Has anyone have any idea why this is happening?

If the US call rate is 2.3 cents per minute. Does that rate apply when you are in a different country calling the US using a US. Skype number?

Skype Number (#) - Receiving Calls Abroad

Hi,
I live in NYC and bought a NYC #.
I'm traveling to Morocco soon and I can't seem to quite figure out whether I will be able to have people contact me on the NYC Skype Number I bought.
Basically, I am hoping that people in NYC that wish to call me when I'm in Morocco will be able to do so, and only pay the local NYC rates (i.e., they won't be surprised when their Verizon bill says they called Africa and not NYC when they were dialing a 347 #).
Any advice?

assuming you have Skype on your smartphone, you do unless you want to incur huge roaming data charges from your cell carrier -- the same applies for outgoing Skype calls and Skype calls to landlines/mobiles

that is correct, but in reality they need to be close enough that the call to your Skype Number is a 'local' call (I presume you are in North America) -- being in the same country is not necessarily enough

Purchased Hong Kong Skype number but Caller ID not...

I just purchased a Hong Kong Skype number. I live in Hong Kong. I enabled Skype number as my Caller ID number via the website. Everything is all set. But when I dial another Hong Kong number, whether it is a fixed line or mobile number, the other side cannot see my Skype number, but instead only see UNKNOWN or Out of Area. Can you please help resolve this issue? From your support page, Hong Kong Skype number definitely supports Caller ID!

I recommend you contact Skype Customer Service to report that Caller ID is not behaving as expected. Please provide the details that you have here in your post. Here is a link to the instruction on how to contact Skype Customer Service via their secure portal: Contact Customer Service
You will need to proceed through each step, one at a time. Sign on to the Skype website as requested. Choose the subject and topic which most closely matches the item you need assistance with. Then, continue past Step 2 of the instruction where several articles from the FAQ library will appear for you to review, and proceed to Step 3, Continue Support Request (the blue "button" appears at the lower right corner of the website page). You may also skip through Step 4 where you will be referred back here to the Community; no need to do this as the Community is where you started. When you complete the webform and click Submit, your information is relayed to Skype and you will receive a reply via e-mail.
If you are a Skype Premium or other eligible customer, you will be routed to start an instant message chat session with a Customer Service agent.

Showing skype number on calls instead of unknown n...

Hi
Does anyone know if it's possible to show your skype number when you are calling people rather than having unknown number appear? I use my skype for work and I know a lot of people don't answer their phones if they see an unknown number so it would be helpful if I can remove this.

I would like to know how to renew my Skype number for one-year instead of three months? I initially paid for a full year, but the auto renewal only went for three months. I would like to take advantage of the larger discounts by renewing for a longer period.

Yes; you will have the same number -- as long as you reactivate your number within the 90 days following your Skype Number subscription's actual expiration date. While it appears to be a convoluted process, I can attest to the fact that it works.

Forward Skype number and Skype calls calls to different cell phones

Hello, A short assistance please.So, I understand that skype number fowards calls.Also, that a skype number is associated with a skype account. My questions: is it possible to forward the calls made to the skype number to one (cell) number and the ones to the skype account to different cell? *Or because the skype number and the skype account are associated to one another- I can only foward calls to one (Cell) phone. So lets say I have a skype account: ABCand a skype number that is associated to it: 123 Can I have calls to ABS forwarded to cell number A1and calls to 123 forwarded to call number A2? Skype number already in use

I just signed up for a skype number subscription and it works just fine when calling from skype to mobile or landline but when my skype number is called from a mobile or landline it goes to a business that is already using that number. Who do i contact to get a different number?

I was not clear on the following....
The skype number is $5 / month paid to Skype but the Mexican partner's agreement talks about a cost / THEIR service... Is this in adition to the $5 dollars charged by Skype?

You don't pay the Mexican provider, you will only pay Skype. I have had a Mexico City number for several years through Skype, and have only paid Skype for that number. There are some requirements in the terms of service for the Mexican Skype Numbers where Skype forces everyone to see that agreement. Other parts of that agreement forbid the use of the Mexican number as Caller ID, so that's why Skype never allows the use of a Mexican Skype number as Caller ID when calling from Skype.
