Solved!
Go to Solution.

Try to reset all Skype settings.
Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata% and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old.
If you are on the latest Skype 6.5/6.6/6.7/6.9/6.10/6.11/6.13/6.14 version, then do also this:
Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %temp%\skype and then press Enter or click the OK button. Delete the DbTemp folder.
Restart Skype.
N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.

  • Skype offline/online problem

    Hi!
When I'm offline actualy my status is busy.
I try everything but no result. When I call from other skype when I'm "busy"(I'm actualy Offline) skype says - no answer and not ringing. But messages is delivered.
    Please help!
I change my password and nothing...

TRy to run the command /showplaces in any chatwindow, this will let you see all places where you are logged into Skype. If more than one run /remotelogout, to log out from the other endpoints than the one you are at.

  • Skype Offline Email Notifications?

I'm wondering if I have closed the Skype applications from everywhere (phone and computer) if I will receive push email notifications (or an SMS notification for when people send me messages on Skype?

When you are offline notifications get stored in the cloud.  When you sign back in you see/receive them.  There is no read status like there is in Facebook Messaging.  If you require that, then you would want to stick with Facebook.

  • Skype offline IM dates are wrong

I noticed something was amiss when one of my contacts sent me an offline IM on New Year's, right at 12am, wishing me a Happy New Year. The date next to the message read 19:39, which would essentially mean that she sent me this message a day later, since that's when I finally got around to log on Skype and see that message.
Today, I figured it must be some sort of glitch, because she sent me another offline IM to inform me that she wouldn't be available, because she has class from 19:00-21:00. The date of that offline IM also reads 19:39 even though, like she said, she was in class and couldn't have sent the message at the time (she doesn't own a smartphone or any other mobile device with Skype available on it).
I should mention that she was offline on both occassions when I logged on and saw the message she had sent me and that I didn't log on at exactly 19:39 (in fact, I logged in at completely different hours both times), so that's not the issue. Can you help me fix this issue so I can view the correct dates on my offline IMs?
I have the latest version of Skype and Windows Home Premium SP1.
    PS: She isn't lying.
PS: Also, I am not sure the same issue occurs with other contacts as well, as nobody else has sent me an offline IM.

    Hi Kim,
I have recently deployed jabber for a customer and one user had the same issue. have you found any solution yet? I tested by changing the time on my PC and it was reflecting the time of PC which is obvious result but is there any solution?

  • Everyone's offline / Can't hang up / Can't change ...

I actually got 4 different heavy problems with Skype, starting today with nothing changed on my computer.
1 ) I am shown online, but everyone is offline. I can't message anybody, the message has the sending rotating circle icon next to it all the time.
    2) When I call someone, I hear no dooot sound and I can't hang up. Skype it stuck in the dialling process forever.
    3) I can't completely quit Skype. When I quit it via the taskbar shortcut (rightclick -> quit) there's still a Skype offline logo left that is neither left- nor right-clickable.
    4) A process stays forever in the Ctrl-Alt-Delete Processes window. It can't be closed manually and takes up quite a lot of memory and CPU.
    5) When I start Skype after that, I can't log in because Skype tells me that I'm already logged in on this computer. Asks my password (which it normally shouldn't -> auto sign in). When I type it in, it still won't connect.
Only after restarting the computer, I get another shot to start Skype and login. But the same crap happens again.
I tried lots of different tricks.
    - I deleted the Skype folder in %appdata%
    - I deleted the Skype folder in %temp%
    - I uninstalled Skype, restarted the computer and reinstalled (also deleted all the folders I mentioned above)
    - I did all that stuff in Windows safe mode.
Nothing works. Skype keeps being broken and I've already wasted an entire workday trying to fix a program that I need for work. If anyone knows what's the problem here, please help me. I'm losing my mind about this.
    Thanks in advance, guys

Sounds like the proximity sensor is acting up.
You can try resetting your iPhone by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.

  • Allways online issue

    Hi,
I had this issue recently, where I always appeared online, even know I wasn't. After switching all my devices off, I was still visible online. This caused a lot of confusion with my employer, as I work from home and skype is our main way of communication.
I took those extra 20 min.of my life to actually debug this thing and get to the bottom of this and here is what I found!
    To be short ->
Skype "offline" mode doesn't change your status on their server, so make sure you go "invisible" before logout!
    Extended version->
The problem is, that when you go "offline" it doesn't change your "status" on their server and you are left in whichever status you were before that. If you were "online" you are going to stay "online" after you log out, if you are "away", you will still be seen as "away" after you "quit skype" and so on.
That's why you should make sure you switch your status to "invisible" before logging out, so noone could see you!
No matter if you "sign out" or "quit skype" or just change your status to "offline", you get the same result, which probably means, that system calls the same function to log you out. That would mean it's an easy fix for skype people!
If I'm right, then I'm not sure why some people don't have this issue, maybe it is specific to metro skype version, as I think that is where my problems started!
I hope I helped someone today!
I look forward to skype update where this issue is fixed and hope Microsoft will give me a cookie for guiding them to the cause of issue, that so many people have since they took over skype.

    same problem. thanks for advice.

  • Mobile running Android OS - Data Charges

Perhaps someone can give me advice.
I assume that if I only use skype whilst in a WI-FI zone that all communications will be via the internet and that (a) I will not be charged minutes by my service provider, and (b) that there will be no data usage. Is this correct?
I have a Samsung running Android OS. If I go to profiles and change the status to "offline" is it true that there will be no attempt to use the 3G network and therefore no charges?
If I forget to make Skype offline is it true that Skype will use the 3G network to communicate with its server and run up data usage charges?
Can 3G data charges be stopped by me always having roaming switched off?

I meant to tap on the apps on that list and disable the background data to such apps
settings > data traffic > you should see a list > select one of the apps
now keeping whatsapp, bbm etc will use your data, that's normals, also
open the playstore app > settings > uncheck auto update apps

  • On my skype when I try to use it my husband's computer shows up as offline and it is not.  What am I doing wrong.  I just downloaded skype app to my ipad.

When I try to contact my husband's apple laptop from my ipad it shows my husband as offline.  I just downloaded the skype app and have not used it successfully.  What have done wrong?

How old is your battery? This weird trackpad action was the same thing that happened to me when my 3 year old battery started to swell. As it swelled it pressed up on the trackpad and caused all sorts of almost ghost like mouse pointer movements...many all on it's own. The battery itself still held a charge.
I took the battery out and could barely see where it had swelled. I then ran my MacBook Pro with battery out on the MagSafe adapter. No more ghost mouse pointer movements, resizing, dragging, and clicking.
If you can remove the battery DIY, try what I did.
I installed a new battery and everything is back to normal.

  • Skype contact showing online when offline?

One of my contacts is being shown online but in reality they are offline. How is this even possible and is there a way to fix it? I'm running the newest version of Skype and I've tried re-installing it many times but it just keeps doing the same thing :S
Also, when I try sending them a message when they are online the message just goes to pending and never sends.

There are 2 issues here which may be related, they may not be. I was only commenting on the first which is the apparently 'incorrect' status showing. That has been the case for mobile devices for quite a while ... maybe from when the functionality to identify mobile devices was introduced into Skype for Windows.
If the problem of not being able to send messages is only affecting one of your contacts, it makes me wonder whether the problem is with their account.
You say the problem started "randomly". Does that mean that sometimes you can send to that contact and sometimes you can't? Or it always affects that person but nobody else which makes it feel 'random'?

  • My skype is offline when i minimize it's screen .?

My skype is offline when i minimize it's screen .?

If you have Restricted your MAIN account in the perental controls that may be the reason. You may have to create a new Administrators account to change the settings on the parent controls.
Not sure as I have never used that feature on any computer I own.

  • All contacts offline and skype home unavailable?

Today i got on my computer to play some games with my friend, so i started skype up. It opened and i saw he was offline, which was strange because he leaves his skype on online. So i opened the contacts tab, and every single contact was offline, even Echo sound test was offline. I tried reinstalling skype and it didnt work. I tried once again. didn't work  . Im going to backup my skype folder and delete anything skype related after my uninstall. Then im going to reinstall it, and hopefully that will fix it. I am open to any answers, and I hope i'm not the only one getting this error.
Thanks in advance for anyone who tries to help

  • Skype is never going to offline mode

    Hey,
I have the problem that I'm never offline in Skype... people keep calling me and I can't answer because there is no device I know of that is online in Skype ie. all my computers and mobile phones are switched off.
I can't find any way to find the computer where a skype program is logged in. A contact of mine already said that "he noticed that I'm offline so he knew his internetconnection was broken!"
Is there a way to log of any apllication that is logged in? Or something that allows me to get all the ip adresses that are currently logged in?
    thanks
