Skype often not available since baught by Microsof...

Is it only me, or since Microsoft has teken over Skype , service has been flaky ?
Very often I need to use it, and I get "Skype Home unavalable"
Making it impossible to call anyone!
There is updates after updates ... Like it seem Microsoft is unable to make this work??
Security updates are fine, but crashing the system is no better then security problems.
I have been using skype since the beginning and this service is getting more expensive, and provides less service...
Will Microsoft ever get their act together?

John, I would be interested in learning how you made the "Custom" keyboard shortcuts for this. I still hate that they deleted those right click options. Sometimes I go back to CS3 when I know I am going to be working with something in which I know I will need those features.
It is like some of the changes they have made to the forums. The forums are hard to navigate and finding the "quote" was really frustrating. KISS is still the best policy!

Skype has not published a native version of its messaging application for Nokia Series 40 devices. Therefore, it is not possible as of this moment.

"backup disk not available" since moving to 5GHz

Dear Community,
I am getting "Backup Disk Not Available" since switching to the 5GHz band.
I've have to leave the 2.4GHz because it's simply too congested round here. All the neighbours have wireless and I kept getting dropout and slow streaming of video and audio.
My Time Machine is extended by an Airport Extreme and both have 2.4 and 5 GHz bands enabled.
I looked on Airport Utility - but that is giving me a nonsense result - my Time Machine is not turned off. The Airport Extreme close to the room where I am - is only there to extend the network, but Airport Utility tells me that that is connected straight to the internet.
What can I do?

Yet more shoddy treatment of those who bought in to win phone 7. Makes me feel foolish for recommending windows phone to friends and colleagues. "We want everyone to experience the best Skype has to offer" and your way of doing this is to take it away!
My next phone is unlikely to be a win phone 8, and I'll look at alternatives to skype.

Restore previous session often not available when reopen program

About 1/2 the time when I reopen Firefox, the Restore Previous Session command is not available. I have to reconstruct my session from history, which is annoying and time consuming. Has anybody else had and solved this problem with a Mac?

None of your possible conditions apply. I always use Quit to close. I've used the recently closed tabs and that only covers a few. I've had to search through History to restore tabs. I wasn't in Private Browsing Mode and I didn't Clear History on closing. Nice try, though. Thanks.

How can I "Save Picture As" from a website - the option is often not available in the right-click menu?

I'm a recent (and generally very satisfied) convert from Internet Exploder. I notice in Firefox, when right-clicking on website images, the available menu options vary and often don't include the "Save Image As" option. Then, using IE, the same image is easily saved... How can this important-to-me task be accomplished as consistently in Firefox?

Thanks. I've seen (and understand) the "save image as" option but that option does not appear for all images. When I then open the same page in IE, it does offer the "save picture as" option, and to my knowledge has never not offered that option. Why is it not consistent in Firefox like it is in IE, or maybe more to the point, how can I make it consistent in Ffx?

New podcasts not available since 5/6

I download daily podcasts to my ipad such as many ESPN daily programs, but they stopped updating since May 6 (all older podcasts are available up to 5/6). They are available on the ESPN website, so I know they exist. Why aren't they available to download through my iTunes app? I am out of the country, so I don't know if that makes a difference.

Good luck getting an answer. I've been trying to figure this out for a month now. Podcasts on my macbook but nowhere to be found for the touch. Sometimes it's days before they appear.

So, for a while I'd log onto skype and get the message:
Skype - No Connection
Skype Home unavailableSkype Home is unavailable at the moment. Check back later to see your news and alerts.
It's easy to start a conversation on Skype:
Choose a contact and start talking
Call a phone or mobile from the dial pad, or send an SMS.
Now, at first I thought it might be that I wasn't signed into skype, but I checked and ensured that I was in fact registered as online, able to send/receive messages but not able to view skype home. Then when I heard about the new update, I uninstalled my current version and installed Skype 6.12.
Same issue- able to send/receive messages, but no skype home.
I'm running Windows Vista, 64-bit operating system. Internet explorer may be my issue, as it doesn't actually seem to work at all beyond google, but I don't know how to fix that problem at all.
Help?

The issue is with your Internet Explorer. Skype Home page is created using IE and this link:

What is the version of Internet Explorer installed on your computer?
In Internet Explorer go to Help -> About Internet Explorer.

Windows Share not available since update

Hello everyone,
My Windows Share TC was working fine still last week and I was able to connect from my Work (on Linux) to my TC and any plugged USB HDD without any problem, quite efficiently actually.
And of course, since this **** update on firmware + airport utility, for some reason this has become impossible.
When I add the server on Linux, the prompt for pass/user/etc shows up right away, telling me my TC doesn't block anything and is online. But whether I use the Guest (so blank) login, or the disk password I decided before, neither work. It tries to connect without success for a minute or so and prompt an error...
The thing is, my DNS is good, and traffic isn't blocked. I checked the config of my TC and even restarted it since yesterday, and nothing was change compare to before, so I don't know what's the problem.
Any idea, anyone else with same issue ?

Seriously, I tried reverting to 7.3, without any success.
I don't understand, everything is working fine aside of the Windows Share. When I try to connect it prompts for ling information, so it's responding correctly, but just misses the connection after that. It doesn't even reject my login information. It just looks for, and times out...
Anyone else has the same issue ?

Bluetooth not available since OS X 10.9 Mavericks?

Today I installed the OS mavericks. Once I installed it my bluetooth became unavailable. Meaning both my mouse and keyboard are unable to use, in tern the mac really. I've tried turning it off and on and un plugging the cable even re downloading and installing it over the first one.
Really frustrating, any ideas?

all macs have pram it's the system settings for the settings required before the setting of the osx takes over when you boot
any usb keyboard or mouse works it dont need to be apple or anything just make sure to check which keys are which on the windows keyboard like

Cannot Connect to Time Capsule: "the backup disk is not available"

I am having a problem that I can't diagnose with my 500 GB Time Capsule (my HD is 128GB). The firmware is current. I first did a search for 'the backup disk is not available' since that is the message displayed in the Time Machine window (with the red checkmark).The Time Machine widget says this:

I installed the widget after I went to the Time Machine - Troubleshooting user tip, here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2057525. Also went to Using TIME MACHINE with a TIME CAPSULE, here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2296894
I also renewed the DHCP lease, tried to do 'connect as' from the Sidebar window, also via go-> connect to server ("there was an error connecting to the server Timecapsule; Check the server name or IP address & try again"), go to Time Machine under System Preferences, select "None" for hard drive, turned off Time Machine, then turned it back on and reselect Time Capsule as the hard drive to backup (timed out), tried re-setting up the Time Capsule both automatic & manual (times out when reading TC configuration)., and finally, writing this post.
I am connected to the internet with the Time Capsule, and I am concerned about making too many changes, because I don't want to risk losing my internet connection, since that seems to be working fine. I was able to make regular backups until yesterday. Tracing my steps from when it used to work to when it 'broke':
1)I attempted (unsuccessfully) to mount the Time Capsule so that I could do a search on it. (I didn't realize at the time that I couldn't mount a wireless device.)
2)The only other thing I did was drag some music folders that I wanted backed up next to my sparsebundle backup (which I can no longer see, because the Time Capsule is no longer accessible via the finder) only to get the spinning ball with the copying window, which I couldn't force quit unless I quit the Finder. So, I force quit, rebooted, and repaired the disk/permissions with disk utility.
Did I do something wrong by dragging & dropping my files over trying to use it as a backup AND a an external HD? Or trying to mount the drive? Or maybe since adding several gigs of music, I took up too much space & now don't have room for a backup? (In which case, I need to access the drive & erase the music, and start over: if only I could SEE it I could do that.)
I am still doing searches trying to see what I need to do; I haven't yet re-set it, due to my concern about my internet connection, which could potentially prevent me from getting any information to fix it. At this time, I am not sure if this is a Time Capsule, Time Machine, or Airport issue. During the time that I have been writing this, the red check changed to 'connecting' but then the 'delayed - Time Machine is not available' message came back up

Reboot the network in correct order.. modem.. router/TC.. clients.. 2min gap.
This is just standard windows.. woops, Mac OS networking now.

Fonts not available when offline

I am a creative cloud subscriber however when I'm not on the internet and trying to work I get an error that fonts are not available since I'm not connected to the creative cloud at that time. Is this bug and if so how do I resolve it?

Actually, I have found that when you disconnect form the Internet, Creative Cloud fonts become unavailable. Today, for example, I was working at my office, logged in to CC, and using Photoshop with some CC fonts. I then closed my laptop (did not log out of anything), and went to a cafe. When I opened the laptop, I was exactly where I had left off... but when I started Photoshop this time, the fonts I was using were unavailable. This does not always happen.
Now, another problem I have with CC fonts is that when I travel on business, I usually "shut down" my laptop. Then when I'm on the plane, I'll turn the laptop on and get back to work... and none of the CC fonts are available.
Overall, this is an unworkable solution for me. I can't have my designs/documents broken ever time I open them. The most embarrasing was a conference, where the document I opened up couldn't use its CC fonts and the entire presentation layout was a complete mess.
Bottom line: If you need the fonts reliably at any time (not just occasional print copy work), don't use CC fonts. They are not going to be available to you reliably.
I wish Adobe would fix this. They make it possible for me to use Photoshop for 30 days without being connected to the Internet. Why can't they do this with fonts too?
